Chelsea defender William Gallas will wear the Milan jersey next season, according to reports in France.
The renowned L’Equipe newspaper today writes that the international is ready to end his Chelsea stint in favour of a San Siro switch.
Despite being wanted by the likes of Barcelona and Juventus, it seems that Gallas has set his sights on joining the Rossoneri.
The Frenchman was believed to be assessing his future at Stamford Bridge even if his present deal doesn’t expire until June 2008.
Milan are known to be looking to refresh their defensive options and the versatility of Gallas is widely admired.
The fact that he can play both in the centre of defence and also as a full-back has tempted Milan to make a move.
Chelsea, Milan nor the player himself has yet to make any comment regarding this latest round of speculation.

yeah, this one is all over the net ... hope it's true. Well, if it is, that shows the guy does have brains and not just deep pockets that need to be filled up.
if this is true, it would make these 2 days one of the best in my life!!
first milan knockout lyon the way we did, then we get gallas!!
him and diarra are my 1st choice signings
YES!! Gallas,Oddo,Diarra and we are 100% ready! Or am I dreaming??
i agree... those 3 are enough
Unfortunately there is no quote, or is there?
Yep....Gallas,Oddo,and Diarra....then we're all set for 2007 campaign...
I hope Rui stays for another season though....
I don't think there's any quotes at the moment and i'm wondering how L'Equipe got hold of this news. They're usually quite reliable and held in good esteem by most journo's, which is good for us. Recently Gallas' agent was saying that Gallas should come to us, so maybe the story is through his agent and not the player ??
I agree to an extent that Gallas, Oddo (although i'd prefer Reveillere) and Diarra would be all we would need, but personally i still feel we would need another creative player. With Rui-Costa likely to leave, it leaves us short of creative players, woefully short, especially if Kaka was injured. So for me we would need either a player who can pick a pass or a speedy player who can stretch defences.
Maybe Mancini of Roma would be the answer ?

agree with you on the players. as for a replacement for Rui, those rumours about us being interested in Fiore says it all, I guess ... I would love to see mancini at Milan but if we get Diarra that would cost us 15-20 mil easily and if any other player comes to Milan after that, he would have to be either very cheap or for free, and mancini is neither.

i was really happy to see us being linked with gallas today, but i chose to believe it is a rumour..i really hope milan do something and get him quick, because i remember he said he dreams of playing for milan, and so did Alex..
I haven't seen anything of Fiore this season so i don't know how well he's come back with Fiorentina .... but would he really be good enough ? Again you're right with the money issue, getting Diarra, Gallas and a right-back won't be cheap, but sooner or later the management will have to realise that a good amount of money has to be spent to freshen up our team, it won't be able to compete in the future with freebies and cheapos.
I know we don't play with width too much, but that's why i'd want a player like Mancini, really fast and able to go past people. If there is a cheap alternative then great news, but i don't know who that might be. Maybe Castelan from Feyenoord ? Galletti from Atletico Madrid ? Prieto from Sociedad ??
Maresca is more a defensive midfielder... or balance player, more or a number 8 than a 7, let alone a 10 like Kaka'.
this is a really great rumour and it's just that a rumour so don't get too excited and about Maresca i think it would be nice to see him in Milan we need that kind of players in midfield that are strong and hard working but for a Rui replace we would need someone fast and with great dribbling skills someone like Savicevic for instance, but it's hard to find that kind of player maybe Sneijder could do the job ;)
Im not sure milan is prepared to spend soo much money ( fiore,sneijder,diarra,alex...) BUT, Gallas will be around 5 mil, becouse we need to buy off his last year of contract, Oddo 3mil, Diarra 15-10. We can certanly afford that much.
BUT,again, Gallas wants to play only CB, and can we secure that to him??
im sure he doesnt mind playing on the wings, just as long as it doesnt become his official position...
i said id like to have diarra, oddo and gallas, i forgot about alex... i think we need nutcases in our team, diarra is great but what i like most about him is that hes a beast!!... look at his goal, the celebration... hes wild, which is what we miss most (besides the lyon game)... alex too is no pushover, while i think steza mentioned earlier that gallas is known to be a nutcase which scares off other opposition players... oddo is not crazy, but he would come to solve our RB problem.
incase cafu and billy leave (+stam), and maldini gets injured this would be my formation:
-----------------------------dida/kalac---------------------------------
---oddo/gallas----nesta/gallas------alex/kaladze------gallas/sergio/janku--
-----------------------------pirlo/vogel-------------------------------
-----------diarra/gattuso---------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------seedorf/sergio/janku---
---------------------------kaka/rui(or his replacement)----------------
--------------shevchenko/(speedy amoruso replacement)-------------------
----------------------------------------gilardino/pippo----------------

looks awesome on paper!
It would be a dream come true for me, mk, an amzing formation. We would destroy Juve! But I would like to see a better keeper, Dida is not exactly at the high point of his career right now, and to quote that really crappy NFG song "It's All Down Hill From Here" for him IMO. And by Sergio do you mean Serginho? Sry if I'm just really confused.
Dida may be replaced by Sebastian Frey? reliable and well experienced in Serie A i suppose.....A good choice, or maybe Morgan de Sanctis

does any 1 have an idea abt shay given from newcastle?
he is saving their a$$ time and again! he is young and good!
kalac...i dont see any probs with him!
I think we need a player like mancini unfortunatly. When we became great again was when we brought in Cafu to play down the right. This season our form improved the minute Serginho came into the team. We need a wide offensive player badly for next season. If Carlo dosn't think Janku is up to the job he should be sold because he takes up to precious a position in the squad.
i think the only player in the world right now who is the closest to cafu is amantino mancini, and they are the best right back in the world! he would be my dream signing, i dont mind gallas either as long as he is not expensive.
yes diarra will be a good signing but he wont come cheap, why dont we go for appiah, he is the beast too! i really cant see the point of planning to buy poulsen!
zlatanov
06-04-2006, 07:15
I also would love to see Mancini in Milan and maybe we could give Janku to Roma, provided that we aren't gonna give him a chance, that way we will have to pay them considerably less for the Brazilian. Plus, Spaletti is a Janku admirer from their Udinese days and has already expressed interest in bringing him to Roma.
We couldn't afford another winless domestic campaign and winning a single scudetto in the new millenium is definitely not pleasing to a giant club like Milan. We have to splash out this summer on big transfers to freshen our options and rejuvenate our rearguard. Gallas signing, if turned out to be true, would be a great addition to our defence. He can play in the centre of defence or as a right or left full-back and has been in a fine form of late with Chelsea. He is an ideal addition and will help a lot with Carlo's rotation system and defintely a good choice primarily for the left-back even if he is more defensive minded than Serginho. I believe our biggest summer move should be for the magnificent Diarra and that player would be a huge addition to our current side. Finally we need a right-back with Cafu's recent injury problems and the possibility of him going home to Brazil. Massimo Oddo is the best choice but it seems that Lazio are not willing to sell him. However signing Gallas and Diarra would be great even if we missed out on Oddo.
Imagine if we had Gallas and Diara for the Barca games. If both played on the right Ronaldinio wouldnt have a chance.
I don't see any problem having a starting back 4 of
Serginho, Gallas, Nesta, Oddo/Reveillere/Cafu
It's time we stopped living on past glories and looked to life without Maldini. This isn't to say Maldini won't play any games at all, of course he will. Carlo will be able to rotate between the three of them giving plenty of rest to each. I don't see the sense in playing Gallas at left-back or right-back, unless injuries force us to. Let him stick to his job which is in the middle.
Mancini is best for forward uses, he's not strong enough to be a right-back. If we were to get him, let him stay further forward, i wouldn't trust him defensively.
I wouldn't sell Jankulovski either, before he came to us he was one of the best players in Serie A, a fantastic wide player which is what we need. I would be tempted to loan him out for a year to let him get his confidence back and fully get over that terrible injury he had. Selling him would be a mistake in my opinion.
As for right-back, my favourite is still Reveillere, he has all the qualities we need. Oddo would personally be my second choice. I hope we keep Cafu for one more year, but i'm not sure we will. If we could somehow get Clerc on a free transfer (see my new thread) then he and reveillere would solve our right-back problems for years to come.

06-04-2006, 08:54
With Rveilliere almost sure to leave Lyon - they seem to bet on Clerc for the RB role and one of them will have to leave - and Trabelsi leaving Ajax as a free agent, I am not even close to being concerned about us missing out on Oddo. In fact I would prefer either of those two over Oddo, they being younger than the Italian is also a welcomed bonus.
Simic obviously wants to leave, so even if cafu stays, we will need to get one more player for the right.
sevilla should reach the semi finals of the uefa cup tonight. So hopefully Alves may get noticed by Milan.
Honestly with the amount of right backs out there now Alves, Raviellere, Clerc, Gallas (not real right back, but excellent regardless) I would be dissapointed if we settled for Oddo. It is a position which is clearly important to our system and galliani needs to get the best man not the best deal. Im not really convinced about Trablesi personally.
Looks like Simic has signed his fate, So Stam, Simic and Costacurta wont be there next season and cant be reiled on. Cafu may also be added to that list.
Simic blasts boss Ancelotti Thursday 6 April, 2006
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dario Simic is on his way out of Milan after launching a stinging attack on boss Carlo Ancelotti.
“I’m certain, very certain that the time has arrived for a change of environment,” he told Sportske Novosti.
The defender is ready to turn his back on the hugely successful Rossoneri after regularly being overlooked by the tactician this term.
Simic has appeared in 13 League games, four in the Coppa Italia and twice in the Champions League, but he insists he deserved more of a chance and at least an explanation from the Coach.
“I’m disappointed and angry, especially with the coldness of Ancelotti,” continued the former Inter player.
“Despite my performances during games, the work I do in training and my professional comportment, that hasn’t been enough for the Coach to give me a reason for my lack of use.
“I think I deserve more respect than that currently shown.”
Simic did have a few injury problems earlier this term, yet he insists that he’s back to his best physically.
“This situation really makes no sense to me,” he noted. “I demonstrated that I was up to the job after my operation.
“However, the fact that I don’t even enter the Coach’s thoughts as an alternative to Jaap Stam clearly shows that he has no faith in me.”
Simic was already close to leaving the San Siro last season, but was convinced to stay by Vice-President Adriano Galliani.
We've been lucky to have model professionals like Simic, Ambrosini, etc. They don't get alot of playing time but they accept it ... or at least keep quiet about it which is to their credit. Other players in the same position would kick and scream, throwing little tantrums and causing all sorts of disruption. For this we should be thankful.
I think Dario's time was at an end anyway, even if this outburst hadn't happened. He was close to leaving last summer and with his lack of playing time it was almost inevitable that he'd depart.
I wish him all the best wherever he goes, forza Dario :5ok:
Good rumors about GallaS! I`m really happy to hear this! I think Dario deserved to be a Milanista! whenever I saw him this season he played quite good! So Forza Dario!

I've said it before and I'll say it again, he is the most consistant keeper in the world. he is only 30 and he could be bought for very little. I would Love to see him in a Milan shirt.
be nice to see an irishman in milan
You really think he'd be that cheap ? He's one of Newcastles best assets so i can't see him leaving for a low fee.
He does deserve to go to a top honour competing club though, he's always keeping Newcastle in games.
yeah i think its time dario leaves, thanks for what he did for us, i also think gallas and oddo is good enough cover for RB role, so long as besides gallas we get another CB in alex, as for janku, i think it would be a stupid idea to send him to roma, maybe on loan, but not permenantly, hes been plagued with injuries and all it takes is a good pre season fr him to get the chance to regai his form and eventually pay off what we payed for him, im confident he can, i was very happy when we signed him

I agree...with this 2, our RB role will be cover...and Gallas can play as LB also.

Gallas, Oddo and Braizili(Palermo CB), maybe even ALex, that will be aweome.
Since Cafu, Billy and Simic will be gone next season
Sta, and Simic will be gone, billy will stay. Gallas and Oddo can cover our RB and Gallas can also play as a CB. Look at this:
CB's: Nesta,Maldini,Gallas,Kaladze,Billy
RB's: Oddo, Gallas,Cafu
LB's: Serginho,Jankulovski,Kaladze,Maldini
We are fully covered in defence if we sign those 2 players. CAfu can rotate with Oddo who is very good full back, so can Marek and serginho, with Marek doing good pre season fitness preparation, and avoids injuries. defence will be great with this. But we really need refreshment in the middle, a class player like Diarra. So we can rotate Pirlo and him, that would be a great diation to our squad. He can even play in Gattuso's position. With Ambro injured all teh time, rui is getting older , we need another CM.

He's too busy destroying Arsenal's much vaunted midfield at the moment  as a defender though he is versatile but hasnt been able to hold a regular place in the side for quite some time.
Gallas on the other hand excels in every role, oh and he scored again yesterday, 4 goals in his last 6 home games
A story i read is that Barca are so desperate to get him they offered Chelsea £12m for him even though he only has 1 year left on his contract. Mourinho rejected it because he doesnt like Barcelona ;) which leaves the way clear for Milan and Juve. If Chelsea are stupid enough to not offer him an extension then i really hope he comes here...

what about john o'shea? it will be nice to see an irishman in milan as almilan has said.Your having a laugh aint you:
I would love Gallas at Milan in fact he has actually got 4 goals in his last 6 games not bad for a defender
Yes, Gallas is a great palyer, he would add some extra power to our team. Has speed, strenght and spirit. Plus, can play CB and RB. We shouldnt let him go to Juve, no way.
Gallas would be a great addition. Should not be that expensive as well, but only if Chelsea are willing to sell him. I don't want us to spend a lot of money on him as I have a wish (Diarra :firedev: ). Getting Gallas would lock our defence and we will be sollid in that department Nesta, Maldini, Kaladze and Gallas would be great. I think this is as solid as it gets. The one thing about Gallas that tempts me is that he can play anywhere in the defence as opposing to other defenders that we have been linked (Cris, Barzagli). Do you think that the board is thinking that if they get Gallas and keep cafu we will be covered in the right back role as well as in the center? One transfer can cover is in both roles??? It is an interesting thing to think about. Because if we get for example Barzagli...then we have to spend more on a right back, unless we find one for free. Getting Gallas however might mean that we won't need to spend on a right sided defender.........thats ofcourse if we keep Cafu for another year.
cafu has just mentioned that he stays at milan! milan might end up not buying any defenders!! simic, cafu, billy, nesta, maldini, kaladze, serginho, jankulovski = 8 defenders!!!
kaladze n serginho have found their rejuvenated new position, maybe ambrosini can be rejuvenated to play as RB!! but i dont mind if gallas comes either! if this prediction turns out to be true then we might buy midfielder instead!
It would be a mistake not to buy any defenders becouse Billy,Cafu and Maldini are in times when injuries happen oftenly. With Gallas we can solve CB and RB positions, aldough he does play better as a CB. I still wish for Gallas and a RB ( oddo )
what about john o'shea? it will be nice to see an irishman in milan as almilan has said.
don't think he is quite up to milan standard
Roy Keane, Robbie Keane, Shay Given & Damian Duff only ones who would be good enough for the milan squad not sure if any of them would be good enough to start
i rate john o'shea highly.. he might be rejuvenated in milan just like seedorf and pirlo have been rejuvenated after moving from inter to milan.
anyway if milan is gonna buy defenders , it will be only one defender, no more unless if milan sell. actually i am not too concerned about our ageing defenders, it has been shown many times that age does not reflect player's ability!
i love to see appiah in milan jersey hehe as strong DM!
I disagree, signing one defender shows a lack of attention and complete disregard to the problem we have. We need a CB who is good enough to start games, we need a RB good enough to start games and we could possibly do with a good squad player for LB. Stam is gone, Simic will be gone, Billy's no longer reliable enough for the crunch games and Kaladze is hit and miss, great in some and uncertain in others. One defender will not solve all those problems.
agree with jim, id go for gallas, hes more like a must for me since he can play everywhere in defence, and id go for oddo and alex, to be honest all 3 together can be bought for around 12M
based on my observation of milan's transfer policy which i like is they buy player only as many as player sold or released. the only player will leave us for certain so far is stam.
agree with jim, id go for gallas, hes more like a must for me since he can play everywhere in defence, and id go for oddo and alex, to be honest all 3 together can be bought for around 12M
YES! i would love to get gallas and oddo which rank highly IMO. Alex would be also very good too.
Stam is certain to leave. Simic seem to be on his way out after taking a blast at ancelotti. Cafu's situation is still unclear. We really need 3 good players to beef up the defense.
stam is definatly leaving and i think alex should be his replacement because he is most similar, simic i also think is leaving and gallas is his, weve had trouble at RB throughout the season, doesnt matter if cafu is staying or not (hopefully he is) but oddo is a must for me, u cant risk another season with only 1 RB who is aged 34

Galliani Admits Gallas Interest Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has revealed that the club may be interested in signing Chelsea defender William Gallas.
The Frenchman’s contract at Stamford Bridge expires at the end of next season, and he is known to be frustrated at being played out of position by manager Jose Mourinho.
"Gallas still has one year left in his contract with his club," Galliani told Gazzetta dello Sport.
"All I can say is we like French players because they are able to adapt better to our football than the rest of the Europeans."
It a good new for far if compare to player like meterrazi or poulsen.Hope that they were serious even gallas is mourinho favourite.

Oddo yeah definately, not Cris, he is one dirty player. I would prefer Barzagli over him any day
I still dont understand why dont we go for Bonera as a CB, he's better player than Mexes or Cris. He is young and Italian. Can also play as a RB. Somethin like Gallas, but right now Gallas has something more to add to our squad.

Milan seek Michel Salgado
Milan’s search for a right-back could take them to knock on Real Madrid’s door for Michel Salgado.
The Rossoneri have made no secret of the fact their transfer policy this summer will be focused on reinforcing the defence.
Marcos Cafu has signed on for another season, but his injury worries and advanced age are causing concerns, while Jaap Stam has already signed for Ajax.
The prime target is Lazio’s Italian international Massimo Oddo, with their bid for Chelsea star William Gallas reportedly dropped in favour of Juventus this week.
But Spanish newspaper ‘Marca’ today suggests that Milan are making a firm bid for Real Madrid veteran Michel Salgado.
The Merengues hero would bring international experience, but turning 31 in October, he wouldn’t particularly reduce the average age of the Rossoneri back line.
Salgado has been at the Bernabeu since 1999 following spells at Celta Vigo and Salamanca.

It seems as if Oddo is our target, and Gallas will be "allowed" to choose Juve..though I prefer Gallas, to be honest...but ever since Braida found out I was dating his neice...he doesnt listen to my scouting advice anymore....:D
(psyche) :D
We are acting like we are Auxerre or PSG. I hope this is all not true and our managment really wants to refresh squad with power. Gallas AND oddo AND Diarra. That wouldbe a real sign of power. Lets not lie to ourselves... Cafu cant do it anymore, Gallas is better at CB than Kaladze( maldini is not in good shape, billy is 40 ), and not to mention Pirlo vs Diarra.

Gallas one of three to leave in clear-out
By Sam Wallace
Published: 01 May 2006
William Gallas intends to leave Chelsea this summer after five years at the club, with Juventus, Barcelona and Milan the leaders for his signature. But Didier Drogba and Shaun Wright-Phillips are not for sale, the club's chief executive Peter Kenyon said yesterday.
Gallas, 28, is unhappy at being moved from centre-back to full-back and has one year left on his contract. He is one of three players that Kenyon said will leave.
Gallas said: "I don't know if I will stay because I am a man who wants to win everything, and I want to do that in different countries. Maybe next season I will be somewhere else. I need to speak with the manager.
"I have been here five years and maybe that is enough. You are fortunate when you are a footballer that you have the opportunity to play in a different country. I am someone who wants to play in another championship. Barcelona and Milan - we will see."
Kenyon said Chelsea also plan to acquire three players - Michael Ballack included - and admitted his relationship with Jose Mourinho is occasionally difficult. He told BBC Radio Five Live: "Things happened and everybody moves on."
William Gallas intends to leave Chelsea this summer after five years at the club, with Juventus, Barcelona and Milan the leaders for his signature. But Didier Drogba and Shaun Wright-Phillips are not for sale, the club's chief executive Peter Kenyon said yesterday.

If Milan and Juve are 50-50 on Gallas, and if he is left with the final word to chose one of the 2 clubs , i think we'll regret for not having frenchmen in our team. On the other side there are Trezeguet, Vieira, Thuram, Zebina
They will certanly talk to Gallas during the World Cup, and i don't think they will tell him : Go in Milan :(

but if he is smart enough, he should also know that ending up in Juve is the same as ending up in Chelsea.
Meaning? No Champion League trophy.

Is Gallas really that good. I've only watched him in a couple matches with Chelsea, and he doesn't seem all that great. and he has a bit of a temper
Giovanni

In October he stated: "I've been here 5 years. Time to move. I spoke with a french friend of mine (Desailly) and he told me that if i have to move away, the absolutely best for a football player would be Milan AC "..
I think right now the scenarios are two: from one side he wants to see if Chelsea offers more, and a possible auction between Milan and Juve only has the consequence to raise his future wage.
From the other side, i think he really wants to move away. the official price is 20 Mill but it seems there's a chance he can be free agent, if some contractual clauses allow that.
Football wise i think he is really worthy. Milan fans should forget the likes of Baresi and Maldini. We'll never have such amazing players in short terms. As Kaladze showed, as Arsenal and Barca showed, we can have a very solid defence without amazing names. I think Gallas is very solid and has great phisical power, something we lack a bit. He reminds me of Thuram a bit.

I've only watched him in a couple matches with Chelsea, and he doesn't seem all that great. and he has a bit of a temper Having seen a lot of him here in JA, (because we are an ex-colony of England, we get extensive EPL coverage) I think he is worth whatever we spend on him, the fact that he also scores goals, and often valuable ones from set pieces, makes him an important aquisition in my books...

he is one of the best defenders around. he is fast strong and scores the odd goal too. he will be france's star defender in the world cup. he can play effectively whether right back left back or in his preferred position as center back. he was recently voted in the premiership team of the season.
I don't think you can count his recent goal against Man Utd, if you watch the replay Silvestre follows him for about 5 yards and then just completely ignores him .... running away from Gallas ... :D
But yes, he does get a few goals each season.
he's been a better defender than Terry this season, and we all know the plaudits lauded on him last year. Because he's a not a england player though and lacks the glamour of most the other multi-million pound abrahmovich players he dosn't get the headlines as much. I read we agreed to leave him to Juve if they leave Oddo to us, big mistake, I think we could get both as both seem to want to opt for us over Juve.
Stezagud

He's not been better than Terry, but he has run him close and is certainly a lot more versatile (and cheap ;) ) after being one of his biggest backers here for the past year or 2 i'll be extremely p***ed off if we let him go to Juve :(
If we cant get Gallas then maybe we should make a sneaky bid for Boris Johnson. here is a fine example of his tackling abilities in last nights England vs Germany legends game :D

Gallas all set for Milan
Tuesday 9 May, 2006
Milan have already tabled a bid for Chelsea defender William Gallas, according to reports in France on Tuesday.
The stopper has recently admitted that he will be leaving Stamford Bridge in the summer and Milan were instantly associated.
Now the L’Equipe newspaper has suggested that the Rossoneri are well on the way to signing the international.
Milan are looking to rejuvenate their defence given the age of Marcos Cafu, Paolo Maldini and Billy Costacurta.
They also require some fresh blood as they will lose Jaap Stam in the summer after he agreed a two-year deal with Ajax.
Gallas, also linked with Juventus and Barcelona, could complete his switch to the San Siro before the World Cup Finals.

Gallas reminds me of Thuram. Surely he will add physical presence, something we lack a bit. He and Diarra will arise a black wall down there. Gattuso can't run for 60 matches like that every season. If he slows down a bit, the defence gets exposed.
Btw i think that, after the usual market ups and downs, Gallas will join Milan.
i agree with gio, and its the main reason why i want diarra and gallas here (and alex next season hopefully)... what we really lost during the last two seasons is the ferocity and the aggressivness, players like those are second to none when it comes to this issue, and its also players like those that usually bring you titles, and its not the ronaldo's or the beckhams or whatver

It seems he has a clause in his contract and can leave Chelsea as free agent. I doubt Galliani will spalsh too many moneys on him, even though he's a worthy defender. I reckon we would at best spend 10 mill in case, but it seems he can leave Chelsea for free

Either the above is not true, or I dont properly understand this free-agent thing...I mean, if he is a free agent, then he simply walks away, and takes a plane to Milan right?
So whats this about rejecting an offer? Why would we make an offer to a club when the player in question is a free agent? I thought we would use the money to pay the player, rather than give it to a club he can just up and leave...?
Anyway, some more disturbing rumors from theguardian´s rumor mill:
Another Chelsea web is getting mighty tangled: Andriy Shevchenko will finally be wending his way to Stamford Bridge, with homesick Hernán Crespo heading to Milan in part-exchange. Milan are also keen on William Gallas, but they'll need the cash from the Shevchenko deal to seal that; they've already bid £4m but Chelsea won't let him go unless they receive £10m. This, I refuse to believe...Milan cant spend £10M fro Gallas? Ridiculous.

Sheva;
Shevchenko will not leave, reasons why you ask?
1. Sheva is AC Milan through and through. He bleeds AC Milan. AC Milan have given Sheva all the support and ability possible to allow him to become the great forward he is today. Sheva sees AC Milan as family and his adopted home.
2. Mr Berlusconi and Sheva are like father and son. Remember that Silvio is Sheva’s child’s godfather. Sheva has stated many times that Silvio is like a father to him and that is something that one does not betray.
3. Sheva is the best forward around in my opinion, he has collected all types of silverware with AC Milan and knows that AC Milan have to be the best football club in the world and has no better chance to collect more silverware than with AC Milan.
4. Sheva is comfortable at AC Milan. He is a leader and captains at times. He knows the players and the directors and understands what AC Milan are all about. Tat is family. There is a special bond at Milan that not many other teams have.
..
About Henry? I believe that there is a good chance that Henry could join AC Milan. Why? For the simple fact that Henry knows AC Milan have the best side in the world. He knows that AC Milan would be competing on all fronts every year. He also knows that with Sheva, Henry could form one of the most devastating partnerships ever.
..
Now for reasons AC Milan would like to purchase Henry. The man is 28 years old. Has a good 4 maybe 5 years left in his legs. He would again form a devastating partnership with Sheva up front. A forth striker would be handy in case of injuries which can not be helped. Henry would ass pace to the AC Milan attack. Henry is a player who likes to run with the ball and play a quick game but also patient. With Kaka, Henry would be able to take some of the pressure off Kaka and Sheva with his dribbling skills. AC Milan could net Henry at a knock down fee if he wants to join AC Milan and expresses thaqt to Arsenal.
..
Now moving onto Gallas. I have watched Gallas play may times of the course of the season and I must say that I was very impressed. Gallas is a powerful and skilled defender and likes to get forward at times. Gallas has a good understanding of the game and positions himself well. Him and Nesta at the center of the defence would be great. They are about the same age and Gallas could learn to read the game even better with Nesta and Maldini by his side. If possible AC Milan should attempt to get Gallas on a free transfer.
..
Diarra!!!
M. Diarra impressed me when we played Lyon in the Champions League. Diarra would bring some ball winning ability to the teams and that ever so needed presences in midfield. Correct me if I’m wrong but games are won through the midfield. The midfield controls the game. It helps the defence and attack. Without a good midfield its hard to score and easy to concede. Diarra would add strength and stability to our midfield. He is young and can learn much of our other players. Pirlo and Gattuso. The question is. How much would it cost to bring in Diarra. Maybe 15 million pound. But it would be money well spent.
..
Now many people say, If Henry comes to AC Milan, what would happen to Gilardino or Inzaghi. Nothing would happen. It would be a matter of rotation. Gilardino still has much to learn. He is a very good player and will be great in the future. He scored 17 goals in serie A this season, the same a Sheva without the penalties Sheva scored. The World Cup is approaching and after it, the rumour mill be in effect. Stars will be made and prices will rise. That’s why Milan should act now

I'm very glad to see Gallas' intent on joining Milan. I believe a certain Milan legend known as the rock advised him well.
However, I believe most of you are missing clincher that would seal this deal. Which is Sheva will go to Chelsea. As much as this hurts, I believe Sheva has played his last match with Milan game, and for Gallas and maybe Crespo swap, Sheva will leave.
if sheva leaves ill never forgive the club...

I wouldnt exactly call it a "Clincher", not from our point of view anyway. I mean we are giving away one of the best strikers we have ever seen and getting a very good player with a couple of seasons to go at his best. What ever happened to "Milan doesnt sell its best players".
Just say we get 30 million for Sheva who has probably 2 years at his peak. Its a good deal financially, but it would be like ripping the soul out of the side. Besides, who is to say we will spend the money on a replacement? Galliani is going mad about his new stadium idea. For all we know Galliani will just go and sign some other free player to fill another damn gap. Sooner or later with these stingy tactics we will burst. If we are honest we already have and the only thing that can fix us is a cash injection into the starting eleven.
If anyone needs to go its not Sheva, its not Carlo it is Galliani. He has done some good things at the club, but his transfer policy has put the club under a sedative and we need to close up the free to enter nursery home he is trying to build and start bringing in players like Essien, Diara, Alex and Daniel Alves when they pop up.
Another possibility is that sheva wants to stay, but Berlusconi wants to cash in and is trying to get the ball rolling.
I had vowed to come back to my Milanmania family at the beginning of the next season, but Sheva, Gallas news are enough for me to come out of hibernation and input my 2 cents.
As much as most of you and I dont even want to give any scintilla of thought to Sheva leaving, I believe he has played his last match for Milan. These rumours about Sheva have been consistent for 2 seasons now, and I can't remember or recall where Sheva has categorically denied this claims. As much I hate revealing my name on this forum; below is first, a column written by Gabrielle Marcotti, a reliable and respected football/soccer journalist whom reported on a column of Sheva leaving. After reading the column I was sick and sent him a tongue lashing to which he was kind enough to respond.
Below is what he reported on March 30 and link below http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/writers/gabriele_marcotti/03/30/champions.league/index.html
Extra time
Speaking of Milan, Andriy Shevchenko laughed off suggestions that he would be moving to Chelsea in the summer for a fee of close to $60 million. In fact, Chelsea sources tell me that the deal is done, except for the fee. If Milan is really being offered $60 million, it makes sense to let him go. As good as he is, he turns 30 in September, the age at which most strikers suffer a sharp decline. And $60 million is a huge amount these days -- in fact, it's more than anyone has paid for any player since 2001, when Zinedine Zidane moved to Real
Like I said was so sick here is what I wrote him back and he kindly responded:
Mailbag My comments below
I truly disagree with you that since Andriy Shevchenko is 30, Milan should sell him [March 30 column]. You are very stupid for making such a comment. I'll give you two names -- Thierry Henry and Samuel Eto'o -- as probably the best all-around, complete scorers and creators in the game. Sheva has always been at the top and is arguably the best striker in the world. I know you are a busy guy, but prove to me and the rest of the world that you are not damned by your comments: If Milan is to sell Sheva, give a list of five good all-around strikers who can fill Sheva's shoes in Milan. Don't list Eto'o, because Barça would never sell, and don't list poachers like Carlos Tévez, because we have two in Inzaghi and Alberto Gilardino. And remember players who can create and score like Sheva. Just because a guy is 30 doesn't mean he has lost his skills. By the way, when Juve sold Zinedine Zidane, his skills were not on the decline; he has consistently been the only Galáctico worth talking about in recent years, and how old was he? As you know, finding good and consistent strikers is not easy.
-- David Zamora, Arlington, Va.
Gabrielle Marcotti's comments
Well, first of all, thanks for calling me stupid. Now, on to your point about Shevchenko. No player is indispensable; everybody has his price. It's a question of simple economics coupled with age: $60 million is an enormous amount of money in the current market. It would be the fourth highest transfer fee ever, behind Zidane to Real Madrid, Hernán Crespo to Lazio and Luis Figo to Real Madrid.
But of those three transfers, the most recent dates back to 2001, which gives you some idea of how the market has effectively crashed. The only team spending serious money is Chelsea, thanks to Roman Abramovich. What this means is that $20 million will go a heck of a lot farther today than it did five years ago. Two summers ago, for $60 million, you could have bought, for example, Wayne Rooney and Zlatan Ibrahimovic and had change left over.
You mention Zidane. When he left Juventus he was 29, a year younger than Shevchenko. With Zidane, Real won a European Cup and two Spanish titles. And he is now tied to a long-term contract through 2008, when he'll be 37. Whether that's smart business or not remains to be seen. With the money raised from the sale of Zidane, Juventus bought Lillian Thuram and Gigi Buffon, going on to win four Serie A titles and reaching the final of Champions League. I, for one, would argue Juve got the better deal, at least in terms of trophies won.
With Shevchenko, the argument is even more clear-cut. His transfer fee buys a heck of a lot more today than it did in 2001, when Zidane was sold. More importantly, the skills of strikers decline more rapidly than those of players like Zidane. You want evidence? In the three years before turning 30, Inzaghi scored 38 in 78 matches. In the three following seasons, he notched 13 in 43. There are plenty more examples: Christian Vieri went from 64 goals in 75 games to 29 in 54. Gabriel Batistuta fell from 55 in 91 to 49 in 81. Dennis Bergkamp went from 40 in 86 to 18 in 86. Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink went from 70 in 104 to 37 in 102. Need I go on?
The point is, statistically, strikers often suffer a severe drop-off after they turn 30. Milan will need to replace Shevchenko at some point -- this is a way to cash in now before the inevitable decline. I agree, it only makes sense if you can get the right price. Sixty million sounds like enough to me -- maybe they should hold out for more. But the point is that you can't ignore offers like that.
As for who would replace him, obviously you can't just go and buy somebody as good as Shevchenko. You have to look for someone who could grow into a comparable player. Personally, I disagree that Gilardino is just a "poacher." He led the line on his own at Parma for two seasons and did exceptionally well. Maybe the answer is finding somebody to play off him, while spending the rest of the money on strengthening the back line. There are many solutions. I wouldn't be so sure that Barça would never sell Eto'o, either. If Henry moves to the Nou Camp, I don't see Ronaldinho, Messi, Henry and Eto'o all playing together in the same lineup. Someone will be the odd man out and it could well be Eto'o.
If, and this is a big if, you could sell Shevchenko for $60 million and sign, say Gonzalo Rodriguez from Villarreal, Mahamadou Diarra from Lyon and Carlos Tévez from Corinthians, would Milan be better off? I think so.

At first I did not want to believe or even agree these stupid claims the guy was making. But more and more I see why Milan will sell Sheva. As I pointed out I could not see anybody apart from Henry who would comfortably fit in Sheva's shoes. Players like Sheva who can score, create, dribble, head, comfortable with both feet don't come around everyday.
Gallas' transfer will not be a cash transfer, and more and more I'm prepared to see a vacant Number 7 in Milan next season.

Well this is off topic, but soccernet.com has just reported that Berlu told a group of school childrent that Sheva wanted to go to the Premiere league...just go to soccernet.com..its the lead story...still not definitive, but the closest example yet that Sheva may not be here next term...
Gallas and Crespo are to be in part exchange....
But importantly, his agent has said that nothing is final..but if he goes, then, good luck Sheva, thanks for the memories, the trophies, and the goals...
And welcome Henry..a player who will not see a significant drop in our attacking standard.
AND AS ALWAYS.........FORZA MIIIIIIIIIILAN...my club is bigger than any single player.
That's it Warro no player is greater than the team if he wants to leave let him we can always find a good replacement but if Berlusconi or Galliani wants to sell him than i'll never forgive them.
but honestly i don't think it will happen i mean why would he like to go to Chelsea??? it's just bullsh!t talk.
Rastaman , Sheva is out the door. Henry would be a dream signing, however the Henry sweepstakes if he decides to leave will go to Barca.
Losing Sheva will be a big blow, in that it's hard to find an adequate replacment, but we will go on.
On the plus side securing Gallas, will fortify a central defensive partnership with Sandro that will set us up for the next five years.
Do svi danya Sheva!
I'm not sure if this is from BBC, Sky or where. It was posted in a general football forum....
Chelsea block Gallas move
Friday 12 May, 2006
Chelsea have this afternoon told Milan that they have no intention of allowing William Gallas to join them this summer.
Gallas this morning indicated that he was interested in a Rossoneri switch after making the decision to leave the Stamford Bridge outfit.
But the Premiership champions have issued a statement in which they have noted that they are ready to block the Frenchman’s proposed exit.
“William Gallas has made a great contribution to Chelsea since he has been here and he has been offered a very good new contract in recognition of that," said the club.
"That contract is still on offer and we would like him to be at Chelsea for the next four years,” they continued.
"If it is not accepted, then William is still under contract for one more year and we will not be encouraging offers for players that we want to keep.
"Under Premier League rules he would be able to leave at the end of next season on a free transfer."

That's it Warro no player is greater than the team if he wants to leave let him we can always find a good replacement but if Berlusconi or Galliani wants to sell him than i'll never forgive them.
but honestly i don't think it will happen i mean why would he like to go to Chelsea??? it's just bullsh!t talk.
milan's policy is clear, the leave great players go only if they want to go and make the first step.

Ok, just got wordClick here for entire article (http://www.channel4.com/sport/football_italia/may12d.html) (from channel4.com) that Chelsea are trying to block the Gallas transfer...and they think we will let Sheva leave?
Berlu and Galliani need to put their foot down...I can stomach Sheva going for a ton load of money, and Gallas...+ Henry, but nothing less...
I am beginning to hate Chelsea more than I hate Man U...and that is a big ask..but its happening...
Now, the move to me seemed on if we were to get Gallas...but if we dont, the whole deal may be off...and Chelsea are the only club that realistically can afford Sheva..so his wife may just have to wait, or move to Milan...
I am trying so hard to be civil...maybe I need to follow some of my own advice..but its so hard to not think about this issue...he is my favourite player, after Rui Costa...but...life goes on.

Gallas can play anywhere along the back four, and play their well, what is their not to like? :googly:
You should ask yourself, why are Chelsea so determined to keep him for another reason and risk losing him for free rather than sell him now and make some money. Well, I'll tell you...they don't need to sell their best players because they are loaded with cash! They would rather keep a excellent player on their team for one more season and lose money, which shows how high he is rated.

I Don't Like Him. Period. Can't explain it. :nasty:
I guess I find him too unreliable for LCB, he said he won't play LB (that's why he's leaving Chelsea) But that doesn't matter becouse LB is full anyways.
And Gallas to the right of Nesta or Kaladze gives me the chills. Gallas between Nesta and Maldini - the same.
I guess he could be usefull if we played
Serginho - Gallas - Nesta - Cafu
He'd be out there running and pounding and scoring, passing with Serginho crossing to Gila on the right, real deep passes, making room for Pirlo, pushing the other team to attack where Rino is....and other nice things.
Im gonna get flamed now... God forbid we had a player who runs like he has the devil inside him and scores goals :bright: hehe
But this way our RB will hang a lot? Unless we put Oddo there who can keep the pressure on and slice a perfectly good deep cross every time.
But why dont we just get a normal defender and keep Sheva, put Paolo back on LB and have Pirlo do his thing again?
I don't know...I don't know...I don't know.....I don't know...I don't know...I don't know.....I gues it could work.....but....but....in close to call games it might be too offensive....
I still feel we can get a better defender than him! And arrange the defence in another way.

rahul.com, basically: - Yesterday Gallas visited Milanello to pass a medical exam and is pratically a Milan player;
- The club scheduled, today or tomorrow, meetings with Barça and Arsenal to decide the forward situation. Galliani perfers Henry, but Carlo picked Eto'o. Only after this decision Milan will allow Sheva to walk to Chelsea;
- The board now will decide Poulsen's situation, who is not really loved by the roster, but can play an important role for the team and for a very reasonable price;
- The arrival of Poulsen can represent l'addio to Ambro (Fiorentina? Even if in Serie B?).
- A girl from Dubai created a petition online trying to convince Sheva to not leave us (www.petitiononline.com/sh700777/petition.html).

What the heck has Carlo been smoking :whie: Henry over Eto'o every single day of the week! The only thing Eto'o has over Henry is his younger age, but Henry can still perform for another 3/4 seasons, also Henry is a better player than Eto'o in every form besides possibly headers, plus he will cost less.
Maybe Carlo doesn't want him because he will be embarrased after selling him from Juve? :w262:
thats not true, henry isnt neccesarily better than etoo... etoo has proven himself in every tournament he played in at every point in his life, henry is a wonderful player but besides this year he never proved himself outside england, but i would go for him only for is cheap price

I think the reason a lot of Arsenal players who leave their club don't do as well is down to the class of Arsene Wenger. He is a great manager and gets the best out of his players and I have yet to see many make a great career after leaving, only with the exception of Gio at Barca comes to my mind.
As for Henry, yes true he hasn't done much in the Champions League before this season BUT he is a proven consistant goalscorer AND provider. We have witnessed this season that Eto'o does go off form, he hasn't been the same since he came back from African Cup of Nations.
Henry's stats for Europe are Apps 88, Subs (7), Goals 48. Henry is the leader in Arsenal and often makes all the goals for himself, whereas Eto'o has had Ronaldinho, Deco, Messi, and Guily to provide a helping hand. Imagine how great Henry could be with passes from Kaka, Pirlo, Seedorf etc.
As for Henry's international record with France, why should we care? If he comes to Milan I am only cornerned with his performances in a Milan shirt!
thats not the point, eventhough i dont fully agree with you on etoo form since the cup of nations but it is expected for player to drop in form for a short period, in henry's case he has never really been there in big games besides this season, i like henry and i would love to have him here, but its not ture that hes much better than etoo, and its also not true about henry creating his own chances, well he does do that and its a + for him (actally so does etoo) but he also has great supply coming in from ljunberg, pires, bergkamp, fabregas and vieira before and so on... etoo also proved himself with mallorca before he went to barca, and he also did the same with cameroon... henry before this season could only grab goals vs small clubs in england (like the 4 or 5 goals he scored in the 7-0 thrashing of middlesborough)
conclusion: both are great players, especially this season... but henry would be the better choice since he would be cheaper
I think Gallas is almost a Milan player!!!!!! Great news!!!! Yesterday I read one russian article where there were written that Poulsen will move to Milan too! He`ll be the next signing after Gallas. but I don`t know anything abt Henry or Eto`o for Milan!
favalli, poulsen,GALLAS (one opne we really need), now henry, oddo and diarra and we are ok. But with Carlo Pirlo will never ne on the benmch and we will continue to suffer in the middle.

I really like the guy, Gre-No-Li. Just imagine if we had him for the second half last May 25, when Ambrosini was injured.
We can discuss his demeanor on the pitch, but I respect his strong desire to join us. And will be interesting to see him on Ibrahimovic in 2007/2008 campaign. :musk:

Nirvana, I did read that Gourcuff has rejected a new contract offer and that he is being linked to Milan, as well as Arsenal, Lyon and PSG. The story I read had extensive quotes from him and he was saying that he absolutely wouldn't sign a new deal and that he knew that both "foreign and French clubs" were interested in him. I certainly would like to see him come this way.
Gourcuff? I've never seen him play? what kind of a player is he? Can he defend or just create? is he fast? has he got a killer pass? ???? tell me about him people.....

I have heard that william gallas has already completed a medical which will allow him to sign for milan if the deal is completed. should we be careful with this news is it that chelsea are selling him with no intention or are they using him as bate to get there hands on sheva?
theres already a gallas thread

and drogba(intreset from lyon) and galas(interest of milan) or 1 of them... so nog gallas
Would it have really taxed you to look a little further down the list and see a large Gallas thread already in discussion ? This is the worst time for multiple threads so everyone (not just you Kaka1899) has to do their bit so we're not swamped by large numbers of threads about the same subject. So come on man open your peepers a little wider next time ok ? :)
On the subject of Chelsea, i find it incredible that Mourinho would rather keep players against their will and let them rot in the reserves than sell them on, even though their negativity would disrupt the team's morale. I think it's just a desperate attempt to cover up the fact that senior players want to leave 'the special one's' :yuck: team. Plus it would be a huge embaressment to them, especially with Drogba. They'll lose so much money on him, same with SWP if he goes.

can anyone translt this plsss
anyone have the latest on Gallas? I was sure he would be part of the shevchenko deal. Apparently Mourinho wants to keep him but is there not a clause in his contract where he can buy himself out of it?
According to L'Equipe, Gallas is a long way from a deal with Milan as Mourinho won't let him go. I think Gallas is asking for a huge 5 year deal to stay and Mourinho is trying to persuade Abramovich to give him the money.
Which basically all means that Gallas is going to end up staying at Chelsea.
Chelsea wont let him go. Galliani is a mug

I would still consider 5m BP a bargain for a player like Gallas.
As for Oddo, I don't think the problem is 3.5 mil euros - that was just a sum that appeared in the papers a couple of times and nothing more - but that lazio are unwilling to sell him, and if they do agree eventually, they would want something more than just some measerly 3.5 mil euros.
There's a good chance they are waiting to see if he is gonna play well in teh WC, if he plays at all that is, and use that to ask for a hgher price from any potential buyers.
I cant believe we didnt sigh Gallas, he is ideal solution. Alopng side with Zambrotta.... zambrotta-nesta-gallas-oddo.........what a dream!

Is anyone going to answer my question?
nothing is certain right now. different papers report different transfer fees and it looks like everyone is shooting in the dark regarding the actual terms of the deal.
the only thing that's certain is that Mourinho wants to keep Gallas at Chelski and this could lead to him extending his contract with them should they offer him a stellar salary.
If he stays with them, I guess it would be more than clear why was this whole circus going on - to force Chelski raise his pay.
he could have been included in the deal under the condition that Chelski fail to reach an agreement with Gallas. if they do, however, Milan could end up getting some more money instead of Gallas. Or maybe Gallas was never part of the deal.
Whoever says he knows the truth, don't believe it as there are no official details on the deal as of now.
Maybe Galliani has a better CD in mind? or believes that Kaladze is doing a good enough job
im not saying gallas is the best defender available on the market, but overall (price, versatality...etc) i think hes the best choice we can go for... after losing sheva, not singing gallas is the cherry on top to a bad agreement with chelsea
Seriously guys, I cant see Gallas coming. Chelsea are not at all bothered about losing money by him leaving once his contract expires. Mourinhio needs his diversity so they will do whatever they can to hold on to him.

Milan has still not yet started anything in trying to get players for this summer, so lets not lose hope yet. But really, if we were getting Gallas, I would have expected him to be coming in the same deal as Sheva.
If we dont get him, I would be extremely disappointed as Chelsea have been dominating us in transfers in the last 2 years. Let me remind you:
- remember the HUGE problem we had last year with crespo? they didnt want to send him back to milan although he wanted to come back so badly?.. at the end we went and signed vieri!
- sheva wanted to leave to chelsea, and we did exactly the opposite of chelsea.. we told them come ahead and make a bid and we'll give you sheva!! if we only got 30m, i would not consider it a good deal..no matter how bad he's going to play next yr, no matter how old he is, he is still andrei shevchenko, milan's symbol, one of the best players of the last decade.. if they paid drogba 26m, sheva certainly can at least get 45m.
- kaladze really wanted to leave to chelsea.. we told them we'll sell him for 8m, but they said no, they wanted the price to go down.. so they wont and spent 10+ m on this flop Del Horno..
- and now Gallas, who really wants to join us.. but we couldn't do anything about it..

Gallas in fresh Blues blast.
William Gallas has blasted his employers Chelsea and insists he will not be signing a new contract.
The English champions are fighting hard to keep the French international, who is wanted by Milan.
Gallas has never been slow in making his feelings known about his Chelsea situation - and he has again revealed his discontent with life in West London.
"I was disappointed with the Chelsea directors when I wanted to renegotiate my contract, I cannot accept the lack of respect," he told The People.
"If they had given me what I had wanted at the start of the season, I would have decided to stay.
"Now they are offering me more than AC Milan, but it is too late."
Milan have already said they will wait for Gallas, whose contract is due to expire next summer - but the French international is keen to secure a summer move and talks over his future are likely to continue over the next few weeks.

I also heard that Gallas wasn't even at the Champions parade when they celebrate with their supporters, that is not a good sign for them. So i really guess he wants to leave. Mourinho can't keep a player who is not willing to stay that's greedy and unfair, plus if he forces him to stay he will cause alot of problems within their squad.
If Milan really want Gallas then they have show it, make a bid for him like a normal club would do. If we not going to buy with cash then what´s the point of having Berlusconi reinstated?

Gallas demands Milan move Sunday 4 June, 2006
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Milan have said they’re ready to wait for William Gallas to free himself from Chelsea, but the defender is demanding an immediate switch.
“I was disappointed with the Chelsea directors when I wanted to renegotiate my contract, I cannot accept the lack of respect,” he was quoted as saying in ‘The People’ newspaper.
“If they had given me what I had wanted at the start of the season, I would have decided to stay. Now they are offering me more than Milan, but it is too late.”
Yesterday the Rossoneri confirmed they had approached Chelsea for Gallas, but that the deal was off for the time being because the Stamford Bridge side had no intention of releasing him.
“Gallas has another year left to run on his contract and Chelsea have told us they intend to make him respect that. If no renewal is agreed, he’ll be free to evaluate his future next season,” explained vice-President Adriano Galliani.
However, the French international is determined to walk out now after repeatedly venting his frustration at life in London.
Fresh from receiving £30m cash from Chelsea for Andriy Shevchenko, Milan can only sit and wait to see how the situation develops

- and now Gallas, who really wants to join us.. but we couldn't do anything about it..
lets hope he comes
actually i dont think u are right in some of the points... i guess our managment always did the best of the moment and im confident the Sheva deal was good enough (by the way the clubs didnt release the offical statement about the deal yet and im not sure if they will unless the thing with Gallas will be over...so this 30 m is just rumors)..
I can remamber the Crespo thing. Galliani promissed him that if we win Champions League he will buy him from his contract at even high prize. He scored twice in the final...did his best to remain in the club but we finaly lose. Galliani made an offer to Chelsea anyway but they turned it down that its not enough, Galliani started to negotiate, Chelsea stated they will decide in two weeks and then Vieri interrupted his contract with Inter and we had two choices - wait two weeks if we can get Crespo for at least 10m but there was even possibiltiy Chelsea will hold im in the end for all costs and we wouldnt get anyone.. cause free agent Vieri would definately sign for other team.....or drop Crespo and go immediately for Vieri before he signs for someone else. I guess it was good decission at the time cause we had to act quickly and we saved 10m...nobody knew at the time that Vieri will fail to make his impact. Vieri needed just confidence that hes not a alternative solution if the Crespo deal doesnt work out...unless he would sign for someone else...
In the case of Kaladze...its not the same thing as this Gallas.... They didnt offer enough so why sell player under his price when there is only one team requesting him on the market...even the player wants to go as hes not regular starter. I guess we just didnt made any good offer to Chelsea in the case of Gallas yet so even he wants to leave they dont let him go.
Its just stupidity od Chelsea that they rather buy flop than much better player.
As Don Corleone used to say we have to "make em an offer they can't refuse" thats how the market goes on...
In an article about Wigan's Chimbonda it mentions "France coach Raymond Domenech wants all transfers settled before the squad heads to Germany on 8 June."
link (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/w/wigan_athletic/4768795.stm)
Now i doubt that he'll have much success in this, but maybe there is a slim possibility that Gallas will push for this with Domenech's words in mind ?
If Milan really want Gallas then they have show it, make a bid for him like a normal club would do. If we not going to buy with cash then what´s the point of having Berlusconi reinstated?
Forza Milan
Milan is a club with pride unlike some fark up clubs like chelsea who stoop to low means to get their players. Milan would not get involved in the Gallas situation as Chelsea have stated many times that they won't sell so how to make an offer? If Gallas want to join us so badly then show it by buying out his contract, surely we can "paid" him by giving him a better contract.

What I meant to say in my own little way was that we shouldn't´t always look for a Bosmans case, a bit frustrating to wait for a player´s contract to end. And about that Chelsea part being a "fark up " club I agree with you but the sad part is that to a lot of clubs is thinking the same about Milan.
And one last detail so nobody misunderstand me, I know we don´t always go for Bosmans, but it´s a fact that lot of Milans transfer politics these days have revolved a round free transfers and that is sad for a big club like Milan. If we don´t have money use the primavera team, If they are not good enough, train them, then we can have a Totti, Raul, Gerrard of our own.

what is so enoying is that the fact chelsea up so up there own a*seh*les that they cant even see daylight! Milan did a good will thing for chelsea and Sheva, we could have told sheva to deal with living in Milan and to see out his contract, but no,were too nice....
chelsea can at least do the same thing for us... And its not as if there losing alot of money on him... Gallas says to the press he wants Milan, how clear do chelsea want...

Gallas -- I want to goto Milan

Gallas- Do you want me to draw you a picture? :rone:

Better to make £3 mill out of him, than lose him for nothing?
i read something interesting/funny on skysports today about Crespo not wanting to extend his contract with Chelsea. Hernan basically says he'll see his 2 years out on his contract (unless he is sold) but won't sign a new one because he wants to return to Italy.
This is from the article:
"But when I spoke with Roman Abramovich, he couldn't understand my feelings.
"He said 'How can it be?' The fans want you - Jose Mourinho, too. I'm offering to extend your contract and you want to go'."
Abramovich can't seem to understand that some people want to leave his club ! What an idiot. He seems to think Chelsea is the pinnacle of football and no one should have the desire to play elsewhere ! No doubt he'll just throw more money at Hernan in a desperate move to keep him

This seems to be a similar thing to Gallas, he wants to move and they won't let him.

Gallas confirms Chelsea exit
Juventus and Milan target William Gallas insists there is no way that he will sign a new contract with Chelsea. The versatile stopper’s current deal expires next summer, although he is keen to complete a switch to the Rossoneri this summer. “I was disappointed with the Chelsea directors when I wanted to renegotiate my contract – I cannot accept the lack of respect,” said the French international. “If they had given me what I had wanted at the start of the season, I would have decided to stay. Now they are offering me more than Milan, but it is too late.”

It just doesn't make sense. In that way, a team can never manage because a player is only allowed to play when he is 24-26?! how many turnover do you expect every year then, right?
Just buy the right player, doesn't matter his age. Look at Kaka`, but also Maldini.

it says that gallas said that he doesnt care about chelsea, and that at the moment he is only thinking of the french NT

Im sad to see that Chelsea always dominating us in the market really. (Not that they buy alot of players, I mean that everytime we have to deal with them, they always come out on top)

Because:
1) our top striker is stupid enough to leave because he wants to learn a new language.
2) We are a football club. They are a firm.
Honestly guys, it's not Gallas or bust for us, is it? If we get him, i'll be happy, but not ecstatic. I also wonder why he would agree to sign for us. After all, one of the reasons he is unhappy at Chelsea is because he's been played out of position at left and right back. Does he honestly think that he will come to us and command a regular place in central defence? No way. Not with Nesta, Maldini, Kaladze ahead of him. Why would he move to Milan and warm the bench? It doesnt make sense.
Secondly, if Chelsea want to behave like the classless lowlives they are, then let them be. They can keep Gallas if they want to. It's their loss after all. They'll be keeping an "unhappy" player who wont renew with them in a couple of years time and can go on a free. If this aint going to work out, we should move on and look for other transfer targets.

Does he honestly think that he will come to us and command a regular place in central defence? No way. Not with Nesta, Maldini, Kaladze ahead of him. Why would he move to Milan and warm the bench? It doesnt make sense.
It's true Gallas would play some games for us in both the left-back and right-back positions. But for me he would be ahead of Kaladze as he is better than him and i would also start him ahead of Maldini. If we got him i would see him alternating with Maldini and Nesta throughout the season at centre-back.
It's time for people to accept that Maldini can't play to his high standards throughout an entire season and when up against certain teams. Which is where Gallas comes into play.

the gallas ive been following can easily hold a starting placeat milan, hes a better player than kaladze, hes more versatile than any of our defenders and he adds youth to the team
Jim and mk18:
I agree with you guys. Gallas is an excellent player, able to hold down a starting place anywhere. But, would he be willing to turn down a guaranteed spot at Chelsea for a rotating centreback spot at Milan? Think about it, who are our starting centrebacks---Nesta is guaranteed. If injury free, I still think that Maldini should get the nod. That leaves Gallas, Kaladze, Costacurta on the bench. And bear in mind, teams dont normally rotate centerbacks. And certainly as far as Ancelotti goes, he never does, except in Italian cup or "meaningless--i.e we have already qualified" CL games. Now, why is Gallas going to come and sit on the bench? If we start him, will Maldini accept the bench? What about Kaladze? I thought he had an excellent season at centerback last year--certainly doesnt deserve to be third choice.
I dont know. I'm always happy if great players come to Milan, but they've got to know their roles. If Gallas comes, I'll be happy, but only if he will accept some time on the bench. The last thing we want is a new player disrupting the team by not being willing to accept the bench. Or I suppose, as Jim suggested, if Maldini is willing to accept the bench (although, it will hurt seeing him on the bench while fully fit), then Gallas should fit in. Oh well, time will tell....
Well, Maldini is Maldini and there won't be any like him for many years to come.... That goes for Costacurta as well... They are simply legends and I think Milan feels keeping them around is still awesome, at least for leadership and dressing room harmony.
But we should start to prepare a Milan without Maldini, and if Gallas comes, I see him forming a solid 3-way duel with Nesta & Kaladze for a starting centerback role. We do need some competition to keep everyone on their toes. I think 37yr old Maldini & 40yr old Costacurta will accept a bench role, due to their age. Maybe the reason for them staying on so long is due to the fact Milan only have 1 real world class defender in Nesta.
However, Nesta is prone to small injuries during a season, and having another world class defender like Gallas will surely make many of us feel at ease... partnered with Kaladze or Simic isn't so bad.
If rumours are true, and Buffon arrives, well, we're pretty much sorted out...
Oh yeah, i forgot about our Rightback... we can't rely on another 35yr old, altho Cafu does have an extra heart in his body....

Cafu is playing awfully, he's just a shadow of past glories.
Well, he IS 35...

I would mind him at Milan for another year, but as a back-up to a new Milan attacking right back...

Srna looks good, I agree.
Oh yeah, good point... He is extremely stubborn, keeps playing fatty Ronaldo (scored 2 goals against Japan, wow!). We will only know is Ronaldo is the same Ronaldo when he goes up against any of the top teams...
Better stop talking about right backs and Ronaldo, before the admins or someone says "this is thread about Gallas, please continue on another thread and blah blah blah"....
Might still happen! Chelsea are paving the way for his exit with this signing:
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho hopes to replace William Gallas with £6m Serb Milan Stepanov. (News of the World)
hope this is true .. and they leave gallas coming to our club :)
i never heard for this guy stepanov who i he ?? !
Gallas has played well this World Cup, but he will be 29 and his wages will be extremely high. At this point, whomever comes as a central defender, unless it's chivu or Mexes, will be the initial backup to nesta and kaladze. Therefore why not go after Barzagli who has shown to be a calm player who is not affected by the big stage (see game vs Ukraine). Barzagli is 25, knows the Italian mentality, has played in Serie A, in addition he would cost and earn a fraction of what Gallas would seek. Personally, I don't like Gallas, he is an arrogant player who overestimates himself, but that is just my opinion.

Since the very beginning I am totally in favour of Gallas and Perea, 'cos my evaluation is that Cafu (HORRIBLE WC, btw) and Maldini will play limited roles next season and Costacurta (despite a very good performance against Barcelona in UCL semi) will play only in very special ocasions.
We desperatly need to strenght the defense 'cos we have only Nesta and Kaladze. And the former is constantly injured...
But from now on I think we are going to see some action regarding Milan's calciomercato.
After the trial and juve relagation we will go for Zambrotta, Buffon, Oddo and CB. That is the latest update from Milan. Braida already contacted Zambrotta and Gigi, and its very likely they will be ours.
i think we should wait with oddo and if we can get zambrotta then there is no real need for him, zambrotta + buffon + gallas is perfect for us defensivly
