Inter have revealed that they know how much money it will cost to prise Luca Toni away from Fiorentina.
The lanky Azzurri hitman is one of the hottest properties in world football after a stunning season in front of goal for the Viola.
His 31 goals are the most in a single Serie A season for over 50 years and he looks set to continue that fine form into the World Cup. However, Fiorentina have insisted that he is not for sale. "Our attacker is untransferable and our meeting with Inter was an opportunity for us to inform them of that fact," stated director general Pantaleo Corvino.
As is often the case with the Nerazzurri, they had a different take on the meeting. "I will not back up Corvino's statements, as I spoke to him two days ago along with our director Marco Branca," explained technical director Gabriele Oriali. "We made an offer for Toni and Corvino gave us his request. At the moment, it's a long way away from our figure. It'll be a long and complicated negotiation process, but, with all due respect for Fiorentina and their Champions League campaign, it's clear that Toni wants to play in a club that has more chance of winning silverware."
