Inter have revealed that they know how much money it will cost to prise Luca Toni away from Fiorentina.

The lanky Azzurri hitman is one of the hottest properties in world football after a stunning season in front of goal for the Viola.

His 31 goals are the most in a single Serie A season for over 50 years and he looks set to continue that fine form into the World Cup. However, Fiorentina have insisted that he is not for sale. "Our attacker is untransferable and our meeting with Inter was an opportunity for us to inform them of that fact," stated director general Pantaleo Corvino.

As is often the case with the Nerazzurri, they had a different take on the meeting. "I will not back up Corvino's statements, as I spoke to him two days ago along with our director Marco Branca," explained technical director Gabriele Oriali. "We made an offer for Toni and Corvino gave us his request. At the moment, it's a long way away from our figure. It'll be a long and complicated negotiation process, but, with all due respect for Fiorentina and their Champions League campaign, it's clear that Toni wants to play in a club that has more chance of winning silverware."

This will just ruin his career if he does go. What a shame, he was so promising, too...

indeed, I feel sorry for Toni..

i alway was in two mind about toni but now i think he is a great player i watched him in game vs ghana luca can play outside the box got shoot and he is the greatest header in the world IMO .. so it would be bad for him signin in Inter they are not going to treat him like fiorentina do . bringin him in san siro wouldn't be a bad move toni-gila

If Toni goes to the perdenti, we could move in for an Adriano swoop!

adriano?? i hope not.. Milan dun need a player who blows hot and cold like a kettle.. adriano is mightly frightening when he hits top form but at other times, he is even worse than an average player.. if we are gonna swoop for an inter player, i think we should go for Obafemi Martins..

I dont want Adriano hes too unreliable and Toni wouldnt come if Inter have bid for him so i guess that leaves Ibra altough toni would be better

i have to say stupid things about players b/c i don't know how to play nicely!

I expect to receive some cannon fires, but I would rather take Cassano than Toni or Adriano or Ibrahimovich. Honestly, he is young and talented. If his ego can be tamed and his talent can be released, then he would become a great asset.

I agree! He will be another big name that fails to shine at Inter and he will not get them even remotely close to winning a Scudetto.

I like Toni but I don't think he will do great at Inter.
