hey Brasiliero how have u been doing?

i wanted to ask you.. did Wagner (Cruzeiro, the one you talk about) just sign for Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia for $8m dollars just for six months??!?!?!?!? Thats insane. If it is true tell me what do u think of that move? And what do you think will happen next? Could he be available for us to snatch maybe in the summer? Does he have an EU passport?

So Braida's trips to South America in the summer, and the one last month was absolutely useless?

Milan cant use the reason that "all south amerians want to go to Real or Barca", that is our fault. We need to be more ambitious, we need to spend more money instead of going for players that are for free (we're goin for another free agent, Belletti, instead of buying Oddo,Alves,Reveilliere etc)
not totally useless, we got grimi. and im sure braida got a nice tan

Iīm fine , my friend!
Man, I still donīt believe that a talent like Wagner go to Al-Ittihad at this time of hid carrer, until I read your post. If itīs only 6 months itīs ok. But if it wants to play for Brazilian NT, the guy will be in trouble...
Wagner isnīt a Kaká(talent level), but the guy is VERY good!! Here in Brazil, the talk was that Atletico Madrid was interst in Wagner, and I never heard about Al-Ittihad proposal until itīs done.
I really donīt know if Wagner have a EU passport...

BTW, the more I see Alexandre Pato playing, the more impressed I become  This boy is a special player, no doubt!! Last night against Uruguai, Pato was amazing  The game was crucial for Brazil, and in nightd like these we cansee the character of the player...and Pato end Lucas showed(one more time) that are special players!!! Pato also is proving that his great aerial game wasnīt a fluke...the kid is great in the air!!
Itīs good to know the our scout in SA Championship said that the only bad thing in Alexandre Pato was a no EU passport :howler:
Buy this guy now, and leave him mature playing in Libertadores Cup for Internacional until the summer...what a talent...and more important, as all the reports said, a great character and teammate

Pato eyes Italian switch

Juventus target Alexandre Pato of Porto Alegre has admitted that he is ready for a move to Europe.

The Brazilian talent is seen by many as the new Kaka and has impressed Bianconeri talent scout Pasquale Sensibile, who is currently in Paraguay watching the U-20 South American Championship.

The 17-year-old is valued at Ģ10.7m and reports suggest that Milan have already had a Ģ7m offer rejected.

“I am ready for Europe and an important club,” said the striker whose outfit won the 2006 FIFA World Club Championship. “I want to become the new Ronaldo or Ronaldinho.

“I think my experience with the Under-20 squad has helped me grow from a professional point of view despite my age.”

According to Tuttosport, Serie A leaders Inter have also targeted the player and may make a bid in the near future.

But Juventus could be in pole position given the fact that his agent is Gilmar Veloz, a man they have a good relationship with seeing as he is also the representative of former Juve ace Emerson.

The Bianconeri are also looking at Defensor Montevideo defender Martin Caceres and Edison Cavani of Danubio Montevideo.

If we loose him to a Serie B team where he'll forge4t to play football, dn Galliani better be sacked. Future star, i'm sure he'd love to play with kaka, Ronaldo, maybe Ronaldinho too, not with cheats like Nedved, etc.

Well juve is not a serie-b team because is playing to serie-b,juve and milan are the best teams at italy.
Everyone know that juve will play at serie-a next season,so if we loose pato from them will not be the same like we loose pato from Napoli and we loose pato from Juve even if they play to the same category.
On the other hand if that come true surely milan will loose some of confidence because in 1 year we had lost some many players that we were connected so much to sign them!

there is absolutely nothing substantial in these channel 4 rumours - just a bunch of speculations thrown in an short article - and my previous post was meant more as a joke rather than anything else.
I doubt juve is the only team that has a scout or scouts at the U-20 championship ... right now, that place is to scouts and managers like a honey jar is to flies.

Guys, I really donīt saw nothing about Juve/Pato here in Brazil...
BTW, Pato is very polished(and humble) in his quotes, and that ones sounds very , very strange...

One thing I can say, if we really wants to purchase a brazilian player, the only capable clubs to fight with us(in prestige terms) are Barcelona and Real Madrid...by the way, after the treatment that the Real(Capello and Mijatovic) are giving to Robinho(the thing of the alcohol was a the most coward thing that I saw...and now the #### Mijatovic said that it was a mistake :irritate: ), the only club that I see are Barįa...
Juve is a BIG club, but if we REALLY wants Alexandre Pato, no way it or another brazilian player will chose Juve ahead of us...not because Juve is a bad club. But yes, because of the respect that our club always shoewd for the brazilians players(these things do not pass unfurnished)...and one more thing, for an foreigner, to have Kaká, Dida, Cafu, Serginho, Oliveira, Ronaldo(?), Leonardo in the same club, always help...

Jim, Ceara had a very good brazilian championship last year...but here in Brazil we always have player that shined in a Brasileirão, and in the next year desapear...
But one thing is for shure, the guy cand defend...Every game that I saw Ceara, it always shows good defense...against Ronaldinho in WC Clubs Final, and also in a game against Marcelo(now in Madrid),where Ceara put the kid in the pocket!!

If you ask me right now, if the guy is Milan material, I will to say no...

Good info as always Brasileiro :5ok:

What's your real name by the way, i don't think i know it

We need a good right-back as a squad player, someone who can be relied upon. Oddo would seem to be first choice (which is natural) but we still need someone to fill in now and again, players like Bonera & Simic don't cut it at full-back. I wonder if we will make another move for Cicinho? Or will we go with youth and bring Marzoratti back as our number 2 right-back?

Tony75
28-01-2007, 07:20
Marzoratti is more of a centre half. We have Darmian in the youth who players there, and i reckon we'll move for Ilsinho in the summer, but Alves would be great.

Abraão, having read that Lucas is the Brazil under-20 captain, i was just wondering who the other players are in the under-20s and wether there are other potential gems in the side. I imagine Pato & Kerlon may be a part of the side, though don't Brazil have an under-17 side too? So i'm not sure who's in which squad.

Also if anyone happens to know much about the Argentine under-20's squad, i'd be interested in knowing about them also.

Thank you :D

i didn't see Kerlon take part in the South American Under-20 Championship held in January...

but from what i can remember... Leandro Lima... Pato & Lucas were the best of that team...

as for Argentina... Maximiliano Moralez & Victor Sosa were the more impressive players in that team...

the other players that were impressive were Arturo Vidal of Chile & Edison Cavani of Uruguay...

zlatanov
12-05-2007, 10:49
either him or Ustari (Independiente) ... they are both seen as the future GKs of Argentine NT ... not sure who will take the spot in the end as they both are pretty talented and both are very young too - Ustari is like 20-21 yo, while Carrizo is 23 or so.

Milan has been associated with carrizo on a number of occasions though and he seems to be in the running for Dida's heir ... today channel 4 wrote that Peruzzi has identified in Carrizo his heir at Lazio among several other good GKs, Boruc including.

Jim,
That generation is pretty good. Some players now are in Europe, so people forget that they are still under-20 players.
GK - The Gręmio goalkeeper(Cássio) is an big guy( 1,95cm e 92kg) that looks like Frankstein :grinser: but is a amazing GK, and the word is that after under-20 WC they will sell the boy.
http://globoesporte.globo.com/ESP/Noticia/0,,MUL33124-4411,00.html

RB - The starter in the under-20 S. America championship(Amaral from Palmeiras) really didnīt impress me. The boy is a freak(athletically speaking), but nothing more. His sub(Fagner) that was a free-transfer to PSV, and will play there next season has more quality. But, IMO Eduardo Ratinho(Corinthians) is by far the best of the three, just needs to show that can stay healthly.

LB - Marcelo(Real Madrid) is a gem...Carlinhos(Santos) has all the tools for to be a very good LB also, but has low football IQ.

CB - The CBīs situation was a mess in SA under-20. Some hyped players(the starters) had been horrible. The only player that shone was the last option in the bench, David (Palmeiras). This kid shows great instintcs as a defender(besides being strong), and if it wasnīt a fluke, has everything to be a good defender. David is playing with the pros in Palmeiras.

DMD - I really like Roberto(Atletico Paranaense)...this guy shows great defensive awarenes, and a good pass. I donīt think he has Lucas or Denilson quality, but to be fair, the guy rarely went foward. It was clear that the coach said him to be like a 3rd CB, playing in the front of the two CB...and sometimes even behind both...like the old Libero position. Looks like a BIG Mascherano(when it played in River, the good one) for me...
Lucas and Denilson will have great battles in Arsenal X Liverpool games.
BTW, Lucas will suprise some people in England when he crack the rotation early in the season. And judging for Rafa Benitez words, the coach already knows this :)

OMD - Anderson(Porto) is well know, Leandro Lima (São Caetano) shows great sinals, but lacks something that I donīt know. I really like Tchô from Atletico Mineiro, good player. And now, Kerlon...poor Kerlon...this kid is amazing, much more than that trick they shows on youtube videos. A complete OMD, but Iīm starting to be worried with this kid be injure prone. The first serious injure was a broken ankle in a tackle, so nothing to worry. The second was a tore ACL...so, more serious. I just hope this is only bad luck...

FW - Pato is the real deal, and he was a under-17 player in that SA under-20 championship. And even just working out 2 days with International this week, started the Brazilian Championship yersterday with a goal.
I just heard great things about Guilherme(CF of Cruzeiro), but as it wasnīt in SA championship, I canīt saw him. But he will play with the pros in this Brasileirão, and Iīm curious to see the guy playing.
Now, Iīm out to lunch...

Could someone shed more light on Thiago Silva, 23 yo RB (I think) for Fluminense?
He has been linked with Milan lately as one of the players targeted during one of Braida's trips to SA, and while he seems like a popular player among the Flu faithful, he is completely unknown, or close to it, here in Europe, although he's spent some time in EUropean clubs (in Portugal, I think) when he was like 18-19 yo.

@zlatanov: Thiago Silva is a CB. A very good and skilled CB. I donīt know if you remember, but I wrote about him(here in MM) some time ago. If iīm not wrong, when I was hyping Marcelo...
While this guy have talent, the possible purchase of Thiago, makes me to come back to an old debate. IMO, we really need a physical CB to pair with Nesta or Maldini. As they said in NFL with the offensive line, we need a MAULER in defence :) and Thiago isnīt this type of defender.
But, donīt get me wrong, this guy is a very good defender!! As we said in Brazil, a "classical defender"!! A CB that besides be good at destroy, is very skilled for the position...By far, the best defender playing in Brazil( followed for David of Palmeiras that I wrote in the post above), and IMO a much better defender than Bonera...

BUT, but...the best defender produced by Brazil after Alex, I have no doubt to say that is the 20yo David Luiz Moreira Marinho or David Luiz of Benfica: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Luiz_Moreira_Marinho
http://www.slbenfica.pt/Info/Futebol/Plantel/FichaJogador.asp?idEpoca=347&idCompeticao=34&idJogador=27533
Be aware of this guy, that will be a recognized as an WC defender in 1 or 2 years.

David is the complete package. Tall, strong(not Alex type, but can add more bulk if needed), dominant, great instincts, can play in the 2 sides of CB position, is nasty(a la Gattuso and D. Alves), and has great defensive awarenes. I have no doubt that this guy will be a starter for Brazil NT in some years!!!
Since I saw a 19yo Alex in that great Santos team(robinho, diego, Renato, Elano), I didnīt have this sensation to be seeing the birth of a WC defender...
Itīs a shame that the boy elbowed a corean CF in the second game of Brazil in under-20 W.Cup...that stupid play(he was out until half-finals) not only hurt his stock, but also hurt Brazil chances in the tournament. David was 50% of our defence(since our stupid coach canīt put a organized team on the field), and Brazil became still more vulnerable without David Luiz...
BTW, I just read that Dunga saw Brazil under-20 team training(Both teams had been at the same time in CBF training facilities before Copa America and W.C under-20) and was very impressed with him...
As I said in others threads my friends, you guys can mark my words, this guys wil be a top 5 defender in the world :5ok:

Juve and Milan fans continue making fun of Inter and then, suddenly, it's us who end up to be the laughing-stock.

Internacional people talk wonderfull things about this kid. I only saw 2 games worth(the others are against crap competition) of Sidnei, and he was very good. One against England in under-17 WC and onther in brazilian championship...but he has less experience than Pato in senior team.

Siregar, the defender zlat mentioned is this guy that I put in the post above. TgCom called Silva Junior(the defender), but heīs know here as Sidnei:

Unlike Breno, heīs getting little time at International fisrt team. But, to be fair, the kid was pretty good in the games that I saw.

BTW, Iīm still not sold on Breno to Milan first team. Heīs being very good(sometimes amazing), but at the same time, he isnīt ask to be the man on São Paulo defense(the man is a defender called Miranda). So, I donīt know how Breno would react in a big team of Europe.

When I said in the begining of this thread Milan should have go to players like Lucas, Marcelo and Pato, It wasnīt only because they are great young talents. Besides the talent, the other reason was that I already had seen they being The Man of big teams in Brazil like Gręmio, Fluminense and Internacional respectively, and all that at such young age. They are used to a BIG amount of pressure.

Iīm not crazy to say they can carry a team like Milan(who knows?), but in a team full of champions like Maldini, Kaká, Ronaldo, Pirlo, Gattuso...they can contribute right away.

IMO our biggest mistake(beside not upgrade the defense) in the transfer market was to chose Emerson over a talent like Lucas Leiva. I know Galliani and Co. didnīt like bid wars, but we should have fight for this player with Liverpool. Lucas has italian passaport and is 10x the player that Emerson is(or was). A type of MD that Brazil NT lacks since Falcão(O Rei de Roma). A total midfield that could have played in Pirlo, Rinno or Seedor role easily...
This is my biggest(real) disillusionment about our transfer campaing, since I know Alex was impossible, and would have steal Pato non euro spot.

Yes, I already knew that defender Zlat mentioned after reading your previous post. But my sentence in my previous post is confusing. :D

About Bruno, I only wanted to emphasize that he has ideal height. About he is not yet the man in the defense, I think it's really hard for a really young defender ( (compare to midfielder/striker) to be the Man in his team or in the defense. We should see in next couple of years.

I also a bit dissapointed about our transfer policy with regard to young players. But that's Milan. Milan won't give much money for unproven young player except he is really special but Milan have so much money for world class player. I think, that's the case with Lucas. If I am not mistaken, Lucas is quite expensive. I was also not so happy seing Lucas go to Liverpool, it seems Benitez like collecting good/great DM in his squad.

The most importan thing, Pato didn't go to other club :D. Pirlo and Gattuso could play for next 3-5 years and we could see from the past years that Italy always produce great DM.

Btw, which Alex did you mean on your post? Profile and your comment please for this Alex. :)

I want to have Lucas too. Though there wasn't any news about Milan want him. Lucas is very young and can stay on the bench most of matches. We can buy him without hurting Gourcuff's chance (apart from Lucas shines like Kaka). Seedorf is not young now, and next season Gourcuff may take his place, then Lucas take Gourcuff's place. But I don't think we can (or we want to) buy Lucas now.

Maybe, but some reliable sites here in Brazil said that Milan was also after Lucas. But since Liverpool start pushing for the player, Milan jump out of the bid war(nothing new besides the Pato purchase). Like you said, Sleep...Lucas would not hurt Gourcufīs chances. BTW, I think Gourcuff need to be used as Kaká sub also, and not only in Pirlo or Seedorf role.

Maybe Carlo can turn Gourcurf in a new Pirlo, but I really doubt this hapen...and Lucas is one of the few players that can play in Seedorf, Pirlo and Gatuso role in our scheme, without hurt the team performances...

But as you said, we canīt buy Lucas now :irritate:

Siregar, as zlat said , I was talking about The Tank!!! :grinser:
BTW, for Kerlon fans, the kid is healed and is playing good for Cruzeiro...as a sub, but is always good to see a talent like him out of the injure list. That 2 hard injures really hurt his development, but the talent is still there. I just hope no BIG injure hurt this kid now...

Also, his famous seal drible is causing much controversy here in Brasil. He did this in a derby against Atletico Mineiro last sunday(Cruzeiro won 4 x 2), and Coelho, a RB of Atletico hit him as Sean Taylor do in the Redskins secondary...as result, Coelho was sent off and the controversy started in Brazil...It was disrespectfull or not? Some player already said that will broke Kerlon in two pieces :irritate: but the boy said that since it isnīt against the rules, he wil do this anytime that he wants...

Another good thing is that a youg CF of Cruzeiro that I wrote about some time ago(Guilherme) is doing good in brazilian championship. To bad that the kid got injured, and the backups started to scores like crazy...but Guilherme is also scoring as a sub, and will be a starter again soon...

Pato is a better foward than Messi, as the second is better as a wing and MID. 2 diferent players...

IMO Marcelo IS the best young back at the game!!!
Every day Marcelo is playing better at Real Madrid, and as Schuster said: Is working hard to become a better LB in Europe(defense).

As I said in another thread,Alves starts his professional carrer in my Team(Bahia), and I have no doubt to say that at 19yo, Marcelo is better than Alves at the same age...If the boy will reach the full potential, I donīt know, but the talent is there.

Itīs makes me remember of the fisrt 2 years of Alves in Sevilla...fans calling him a flop, and asking the managment to get rid of him...But Alves work hard to become a better defender and player and today is the best in the world.

Now, Marcelo is the starter at the LB in Real Madrid, after be asked to go to a lesser team in Spanish first division to gain experince. He refuses to go, works hard, and when the chance appeared, the guy delivered...

Sure Marcelo is luck that Capello is far from Bernabeu, and Schuster isnīt afraid to give a 19yo LB more than 2 games in a year

Haha, trying to defend your "Pato is better than Messi" comments, that were ridiculous then and now. Only that now you want to throw the "different position" argument when back then you wanted to compare them pound for pound. Not only that, you sounded as if Messi was your average joe.
And regarding Marcelo, he received tons of opportunities in Real Madrid and he is as unconvincing as they come. You can always hear the crowd's whisper when he touches the ball. Hopefully in 5 years he will be a beast, but not seeing it.

Hahaha what?? Ridiculous is your insistence in bashing and diminishing EVERY brazilian player that I put in this thread, while any argentine you put in a pedestal as if the guy was a GOD. As when I said that Tevez was overrated...a good player with a BIG heart, but OVERRATED... and you jump at me like now calling me crazy and ridiculous...What this overrated (and FAT) player did in Europe to show that heīs the W. Class player that you said, and I did not agreed???

Look, IMO Pato is better than Messi at 17yo, and will be a better player...but I was just trying to be fair and do not compare a MID with a CF, just this. But I stick with my opinion, and we will see who is right in the future.

Iīm also curious to know your sincere opinion on Kaká when he came to Milan...I bet that you must have became mad at Milan F.O. to buy a young overrated brazilian like you always do here

Not only that, you sounded as if Messi was your average joe.

As we say in Brazil, do not put words in my mouth. I said at that time Messi wasnīt everything that the Barcelona hype(after that game against Chelsea) was alarding...I great prospect, but as I was used to see what happened with every Maradona heir(Ortega, Solari, Aimar, Dīalessandro, Riquelme), I wanted to see a FULL season of Messi to put him as a Golden Ball like you did...and I just saw glimpses of WC player, nothing more. Right now Messi is playing the best footbal of his life, but I want to see if this is sustained all the season and not only in 4 or 5 games...

And regarding Marcelo, he received tons of opportunities in Real Madrid and he is as unconvincing as they come. You can always hear the crowd's whisper when he touches the ball. Hopefully in 5 years he will be a beast, but not seeing it.
WOW!!!!!! Now you just show who you are. Sorry but this isnīt only nosense(sp?), but a big lie...
Look I will not answer this with my words(a little biased), but just with facts and R.Madrid fans opinion in the forums...

First bold part: False, false, FALSE!! This are Marcelo stats of 2006-07:
http://espndeportes.espn.go.com/futbol/players/stats?id=77641
Marcelo played only 1 matche as a starter in Capello era(and five coming of the bench), so I wil be polite and to say that: tons of opportunities is a mistake made by you, OK?? :grinser:

Second bold part:Even more FALSE!!!
For the ones that want to see the opinion of the Real Madrid fans about Marcelo, just look at the links(last R.M game thread):
http://www.xtratime.org/forum/showthread.php?t=222555&page=13
Man of the match is easily:Marcelo(Heinze was covering his place on the left all the time)

Loving our full backs
Just finished watching the game.
Casillas, Heinze, and Marcelo close for MoM for me. I'll go with Iker.
Marcello 7.5 was influential in defence and offence

Marcelo stepped up big in the second after a decent first half and had some great runs down the flank and also good in defense. I can remember a clearance in the air that was spectacular. Hes growing up into the spot.

In Marcelo thread you can see how glad they are with Marcelo game and evolution at the club:

ForeverMilan, my friend...give me some days, and I will put some informations about the news(and old) brazilians "pearls" after one more Brazilian Championship. :5ok:

Regarding Messi, the boy started the season in La Liga like a hurricane, and one more time is showing the same drop (on his form) of the last years...What IMO is normal for a 19 years old...

What itīs not fair is to see people(and Barįa incredible hype) to say this talented kid deserves the Golden Ball this year...When Messi to lead his team for a title(as he did in under-20 WC) in Europe or South-America(failed badly against Brazil in Americaīs Cup), or to play a full season at a high level, Messi will deserves the Golden Ball. Said that, Messi is very young and have all the time(and game) to win the Golden Ball in the future...but not this year.

BTW, guys like Ibra and C. Ronaldo did much more than Messi last(and this) season, and I donīt see this hype for both to win the Golden Ball(Moratti crazyness isnīt worth :grinser: )...

I agree and disagree with you about Messi. I agree that he shouldn't be close to winning the Golden Ball, even Seedorf deserves it more.

But I disagree that Pato is better than Messi or could be. Messi is the closest thing I've seen to Maradona, and I think he is going to become bigger and bigger. Pato might be good, but I dont think he's in Messi's league. Hell, I might even say Dos Santos could be better than Pato, but I still did not see Pato play for Milan, so maybe (hopefully) he could prove me wrong ;)

In the Messi case, I respect your opinion, but I canīt see this "almost Maradona" player. Maybe is because heīs a Argie and my heart canīt accept this :grinser: , or just because in the past I saw several others argentinian great prospects(Ortega, Solari, Romangonli, Riquelme, Aimar, Dīalessandro...) labelad as the next Maradona, and the time prove it was wrong...

Look, Messi had great games, but I canīt remember the boy being dominant and carring his team for a title when Barįa or Argentine NT needed...what I see is a amazing young player, with flashes of total dominance, but also inconstant, and most important, with an BIG choker mentality(Sorry, I canīt resist :grinser: )

Whats bothers me is that when Messi has a series of bad games(like now) or choke, itīs just a drop of form, and when a player like Pato had a above-average Under-20 WC(in terms, cuz 3 goal in 4 games for a CF is great) heīs overrated(I know that you donīt call him overrated)...

I hope that you understand, Iīm not saying that Messi is S***. But for me, the boy still is a great prospect, and not the special one that can take his team for a title(like he did in under-20WC) in the pro level...BTW, Pato already did this, and for me heīs still a prospect.

Regarding Dos Santos??? Cīmon, Itīs not even fair :devf: You will love Pato when he start to scores for Milan :) and more important, Gilardino will love Pato for make his live in Milan attack better.

When everyone is on the same page (regarding Messi), I think they cant be wrong. Only haters can ignore that he is among the best players in the world.
Pato is not even on the soccer map.
Maybe one year from now he will show his value, right now he hasnt done more than many other youngsters in the world. Messi is regarded as the best young (real young) talent in the world, only 20 years old and already considered the best player in Barcelona (and the fan favorite, nontheless...)
Whats evident is that Pato has quality and makes some impressive things that are not your average joe stuff, but thats far from being an elite soccer player. He will have to prove it. Messi is proven. They are in different leagues.
Its so clear RIGHT NOW that it doesnt grant a discussion.

Ohh, As soon as I posted my message, I read this sign:

BTW: Im not laughing at Kaka, just that it isnt fair for Pato to regress as a soccer player given that he is better than Messi already...

I dont remember Kaka saying that really but I agree with you - no youngster is on the same level as Messi. Maybe C. Ronaldo comes close, but Messi is different. In all honesty I would be happy if Pato could show half the things Messi has shown so far. Let's just hope Pato has a strong personality like many say he has, that would be very important for his early years.

Long time wihtout post here, my friends...
Fisrt of all, I had a accident and was in a bed for almost 2 months.
But now Iīm ok, and almost at 100% of my health.

As the injury was in the lumbar column, I cannot be in a chair in front to the computer for much time, so I will to write in small installments :D

David Luiz(Benfica): I know 18yo Breno receives a lot of praise and hype this winter and now is a Bayern player, but if I have to put my money in a young brazilian defender right now, it would be David Luiz. Donīt get me wrong, Breno is a amazing prospect(a freak for his age) and was great in Brasileirão, but some fact needs to be take carefull...Some years ago, I was here in MM praising a young brazilian defender(Alex), and saying we need to buy him, that it was ready to play for us but I canīt say the same for Breno.

In that Santos team, Alex played in a 4 man brazilian defence(or either, with 2 attacking full baks) and paired with a below average and crazy CB(Andre Luiz). Besides that Alex was named 2 time the best brazilian defender. Breno on the other hand, played in 3 man defense(much more protect) but was chosen deservedly the rookie of the year. In that 3 man defense was also the guy chosen the best defender of brasileirão, Miranda. So, my poin is: Breno is a amazing prospect, but it is till is this, a prospect.

Now, thats takes me back to David Luiz. David IMO canīt be labeled as a prospect...a young and still in development player, but far from a prospect. I wrote about David in this thread some months ago, but everytime that I wach this boy playing, I remember of the young version of the best defender in the world: Nesta. For the ones that saw our game against Benfica(in Portugal. The first game in San Siro David was injured) in CL, had been able to see a #23 young CB tackling and cuting every attempt at his side of defense and including two decisive ones against kaká...

The lad is already in the heart of Benfica supporters, and IMO is outplaying Luizão in the middle of benfica defense. David is a future starter of brazilian Olimpic team, and receives alot o praise by Dunga. The most impressive brazilian defender that I saw since Alex, and imo will be a top 10 at the day that he goes to a big club in a BIG market(IMO Benfica is a big club).

BTW, I read one Milan suporter in a Real Madrid forum asking to a brazilian member about David luiz and saying that thereīs a rumour about David in Milan...anyone saw that notice?? Iīm not registred in that forum, so I canīt ask it to him...thanks

Obs: Tomorow I will write about other amazing young player(not a prospect) Hernanes, the "brazilian Pirlo" of São Paulo

Neves is the tipical brazilian AMD...as I post in another thread, he isnīt a Nedved type of mid. He doesnīt have the work rate to play in a Seedorf role and help our defense.

Tiago is skilled, has a amazing shot and is a great free-kick taker(near or far). But I donīt know...I canīt come here and to say that we can to buy him like I did with Pato, Lucas, Anderson, Alex, Marcelo, Arouca...Overrated isnīt fair because hes playing really well(Renato Augusto is overrated), but if I was at Milanelo, I really donīt waste our non-euro spot with Tiago Neves...I donīt think heīs worth like the other above...

Thank you Brasileiro.

Why dont we buy him and loan him just like Inter did to Julio Cesar so next year Neves won't be a non-EU player. I think we need a player like that when we play 2 AM behind 1 stiker or when we play 4-4-2, the formation that we cant use anymore since pretty long time. I remember we used this formation a couple of times with Seedorf and Kaka as the wingers and when Sheva still played for Milan.

Regarding his defensive skills maybe Milan can train him just like Milan did to Serginho. :D

hitmannq8 and GeoTav, I hope that Leonardo donīt give this advice(Jô) to Berlu/Galliani...maybe in the future Jô proveīs me wrong, but today, I donīt want him at Milan, period!!

I will try to write about Hernanes( the Pirlo of São Paulo) and Alex Teixeira(Second striker/AMD of Vasco) today...

Brasileiro
29-04-2008, 18:22
Since we are still linked with Hernanes, Alex Silva of São Paulo, I will write about Hernanes(I donīt think Alex Silva is worth a AC Milan no-eu spot)

Hernanes(1.80cm 76kg - 1985).
Positions: CMD, DMD, OMD, RB and Second Striker...
Yep, believing it or not, this guy, at only 23yo already played in all these positions :)
But it was in Pirloīs role(or DMD) that Hernanes becoming one of the best DMD of Brazil. I thought to write about him here in MM last year after brazilian championship, but I wasnīt convinced at that time.
After a great year(2007), Hernanes drop his form in the begining of this year. But unlike his DMD pair and also called for Brazil NT(Richarlison), the boy started to prove it wasnīt a one year wonder like Richarlison.

Basically, Hernanes is a poor man Pirlo right now. But do not take this like a bash on the lad, in contrast, take this as a compliment. This "young Pirlo" isnīt also a project. To be honest, in some parts of the game heīs already better than pirlo. Said that, be carefull...Iīm not saying that heīs the better player right now. :smileani:

Hernanes is one of the few players in the world that can say that is ambidextrous. Watching this guy playing and shoting, you canīt realy tell which is his better leg(heīs dexterous). He also has a fierce shot on both legs. The funny thing about this Hernanes ability, was heīs quote saying that not only develope the left foot, but also the left hand. This all because his dream(when a kid) was to be a left-handed(and foot) person. :)

He has very good pace, drible skills, vision, pass and is becoming better and better in defense. Aslo is know as a great character and locker room guy. He has a trade mark play...this stepover(sp?) and shot:
http://br.youtube.com/watch?v=wMNOAWfRasQ&feature=related
http://br.youtube.com/watch?v=N-R5gR0b7Po
http://br.youtube.com/watch?v=z3e3ECg-U3I&feature=related

He already said that molde his game watching Pirlo...so, why not bring the apprentice to learn and play with the master?? Problem?? Donīt have european passaport. But if you ask me and we donīt bring Alex(Chelsea) heīs worth the spot.

Coincidence or not, while I was writing this post, Dino Sani http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dino_Sani , maybe the first "Pirlo" of AC Milan(Dino was a OMD at São Paulo and later it was transformed in a DMD) was talking about currently players and praising Hernanes.
For the ones that donīt know Dino Sani, he played this "Pirloīs role" at the AC Milan side winner of scudetto 1961-62 and 1962-63 European Cup and was the coach that in the past disclosed for the football the best DMD that I saw playing: Falcão, "The King of Rome". So, getting compliments from a legend and one of the best players at his position in Brazil isnīt for everyone...and if the rumours are right, and Leonardo realy wants Hernanes(and I hope not Alex Silva), in Milan, I will be more than happy.

Even if we use the non-euro spot in some one more established in Europe, heīs more than worth a buy and loan for a middle team in Italy, to be brought later. If not, we could bring the boy right now and he will fight for a starting job...IMO heīs more worth the non-euro spot than a guy like Sheva, period!

Gago was overrated but is a good player. He just isnīt the new Redondo as Boca Juniors managment made Real Madrid board to believe, and pay that amount of money.

Higuain was a prospect, and only time will tell how good he will be. IMO he will be a goo player, nothing more.

BTW, players transfers arenīt, nor never will be an accurate science. You can never have sure about the player that you will to buy, t.giann...being a south American or Italian standout of Serie A(Gilardino??), only when you put the guy under pressure you can know.

I don't know if it is a good news (and a reliable one), because that means that on the one hand there would be less place for Italian players, and on the other hand, that would allow Italian clubs to be stronger ... and to finish, it would be a quite stupid decision because FIFA/UEFA is going to limit the number of non-domestic players in the teams !!

I think Fernandinho is a good player...he was very good in brazilian youth teams, but besides Milan X Shaktar games, itīs was hard to see if he developed. Itīs like Rafael Sobiīs case. A very good player, but since we have this problem with non-Eu spot, imo this place can ony be used in WC players...or if the young player is a amazing non-EU talent like Pato, Kaká...

Since you described perfectly Fernandinho role( More of a central to attacking midfielder), thereīs a player in Brazil that is impressing me every time I watch his team to play...his name?
Ramires Santos do Nascimento: (DM/CM of Cruzeiro)
http://www.cruzeiro.com.br/?section=profissional_jogadores

This skinny CM is amazing. An all purpose midfield rare seen in Brazil. Can do it all...tackle, create, drible, gols(a lot for a CM). Last week I watched Boca Juniors x Cruzeiro in La Bombonera(tīs always hard to play there) for Libertadores Cup, and one more time came impressed. Cruzeiro team was horrible, but Ramires on the other hand did great(is always a great sign deliver in La Bombonera).

Ramires stamina is also amazing. This guy play all the pitch for 90 minutes, tackling in defence and scoring in the same plays...in the way of Gerrard.
This is what amazes me...despite his quality, this guy is always running and doing his job in the defence(since heīs a DMD) and the job of others in the offense...
This video shows a little of Ramires... steal the ball in the mid, and goes to make the goal:
http://br.youtube.com/watch?v=vne7y3hNbcE&feature=related
Inviting an adversary to dance:
http://br.youtube.com/watch?v=copll3rnCQs
Another goal(he was there as a foward):
http://br.youtube.com/watch?v=yOCMEuAp85I

Cruzeiro fans calls him "Ramires, the Warrior"...reminds me Keita(amazing DMD of Sevilla) but with more speed and goal. They are saying Sporting of Portugal had offered 7 MILL of Euros...if itīs true, very cheap.

About EU-Spot and not-WC or not super-talented young player, why dont we sign average/above average (but not WC) players (like Serginho) and then directly loan the player to other italian club? So, it wont cost us a EU-Spot, just like Inter did couple years ago for their south american players.

I always talk about this here, Siregar...
Even if the player will never become a Milan player, only for the financial factor, this operation would be advantageous.

Last year, Liverpool bought Lucas for €2.8 million...unbelievble cheap for a Brazilian Championship Golden Ball winner(and under-20 Brasil NT captain), and more important, with a italian passport. Itīs incredible that no Italian club goes for Lucas at that price...to be fair, rumour has it Milan was after Lucas, but jump out after Liverpool bid for him.
At the same time, Juve spend more to buy Sissoko, after the player asked to be sold thus that lost his position in the depht chart for Lucas...Imo is hard to understand this logic.

This is why some financial groups(mostly portuguese and russians) are buying young promising players here in Brazil. They pay unreal(cheap) money, and after some year sell for loads of money. But they also lose money, cuz the majority donīt understand what it take to develop a great player(environement, good coaching, competition...), they are just rich people wanting to duplicate money...they donīt have the knowledge of a big club.

Cleary you canīt buy every promise youngster, and you canīt put a brazilian or argentine milan side. But to buy players like Hernanes, Arouca, Ramires(young, talented, with high character and hard workers) and and loan them to above average teams in Italy(that fight for a Uefa Cup spot) is a great business. If they pan out and we need the position, great!! If not, sell them for the double of the price...

Iīm glad with our managment(nothing is perfect, and the history prove they are more right than wrong), but we need to stop this "donīt go in bid wars with another teams, B.S.!!"
When we go to "the fight", we are winners!! We saw this in Pato case(Real and Chelsea who?)...but we lost amazing players in Lucas, Alex and Marcelo(and Iīm only talking about brazilians) with this politics...I cited these three because some relieble sources in Brazil confirmed Milan talks with clubs of them.

Botton line, we do not need to buy all the young promising players every year like others clubs. But we canīt pass on amazing prospects if they are cheap, and our players are somewhat old in that position...is not every year a young very good player like Flamini is for free in the market. Balance...the secret is, balance...

Absolutely agree with your post.

We dont need to buy many brasilians, just one or two above average players who match milan standards like Serginho. Players that can be use as substitutes and change the game when they come into the game or if they can be in starting line-up, it'll be better. Our midfield lacks of creative or attacking midfielder. So why dont we find brasilian player who suit our requirements (not expensive but not also average players).

I dont know when the league ends in Brasil. If it ends in December or at the end of the year, then it's suitable for us to make transfer and then loan the player for half of season to other italian club to avoid the non-EU player's rule.

You mentioned Hernanes, Arouca and Ramires. If I am not mistaken, you said Hernanes's position is like Pirlo and Ramires is more CM. How about Arouca? I dont know if you have mentioned and describe the player here.

Do you have names for attacking midfielder to give?

Youīre right about Hernanes and Ramires.
Arouca is what we call here "segundo-volante"...is a defensive midfield with more quality to create game. I described him some time ago in this thread.

Regarding a attacking midfield in Brazil, I really donīt know...we have Tiago Neves, wich Iīm not sold. We have Wagner of Cruzeiro...great ability, skills, pass, shot but still needs to be more consistent. The plus side of Wagner is that this guy already played "Seedorf role" in the left when they(Cruzeiro) had Alex(now in fernerbach) playing there.

The problem with a new attacking mid in Milan is Kaká. Any young player that comes to Milan will need patience, because Kaká is a monster and play a lot. Itīs hard to have a young guy and donīt have time for him to develop. This is why versatility is a important factor, and in the past I dreamed with our managment purchasing Anderson...

Besides Wagner, I canīt see anyone here with this versatility. But I really canīt see we spending our non-EU on him. But we can do what you said regarding purchae and loan, because brazilian league ends in december.

EDIT: I read Kerlon is with Inter trying to recover for his surgery...now, if itīs true, despite Kerlon to be a project and being injured a lot, this is a great bet made by Inter. The talent is there, amazing talent!!! And if they recover the boy, they will have a amazing talent for years...

1) To early to telll...everyone in Brazil were waiting for the explosion of Lulinha last year. But the kid failed...on the other hand, the other kid comng from the "primavera" of Corinthians(Dentinho) was the one that delievered. But heīs stil a project, and until today, I didnīt show that canīt miss talentent of players like, Pato(thatīs unfair), Lucas, Marcelo...

2) No...since the 80īs Brazilian teams dindīt produce wingers in the model of them. Mostly because just 5% of brazilian teams play with wingers. Itīs just a cultural thing...when we produce a talent in that model(C.R, Quaresma or Nani), brazilian coaches put them as a AMD or second striker. Btw, this is fuel for a great debate, but imo to find a kid that talented, and to place as a pure winger is a waste of talent...They became one dimensional...just look at C. Ronaldo numbers this year playing more as a second striker, amazing! This is why a hate to see Robinho in Madrid...since Raul is God, Robinho is being used as a winger for 3 years and it is clearly hurtinng his progression.
Back to your question, I can only remember of Carlos Eduardo(former-Gręmio) and Leandro Lima now in Porto as brazilians wingers. Being that of the two, only C. Eduardo was used as a winger in Brazil.

3) I never saw Chera playing...heīs a Santos academy player right now, and all i read is good things about him. Last year I saw him and Neymar(15yo and already playing in santos under-20), in a TV special, and the coaches were all compliments for both....Neymar I saw playing in "Copa São Paulo de Juniors", a under-20 brazilian championship, and I was made an impression...what a talent!! Thanks for your valuable suggestions. You open up a completely unknown territory for other fans. :respect: Do you think there is a wing back with the calibre of playing for Milan. Someone who can be as successful as Pato or Kaka?

Dont know if this has been posted, but a few people seem to be interested in him, sorry if it has:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJBqcnKefw4

Its obvious he can attack, but from 7 minutes onwards it shows some defending.
Thanks for the video, K77SH C...great finding!!
Lebanese, thanks to K77SH C, you can see in this video the type of player that Apodi is...heīs young(22 if iīm not wrong), raw but full of talent and potential. The first thing you notice: Heīs BLAZING FAST! And if you see him live at the stadium, you become more impressed...as the video shows, he is amazing going foward thanks to his speed and skills. Also play with so much grit and fans loves him.

As you point out, K77SH C, the video also shows some defending, but he still needs to work there. Imo more in positional, because no one can out run this guy as the video shows...he also has little experience...

Here in Brazil, when you have a FB with Apodi talent, coaches put a DM only to cover his runs. Others coaches change to a 3-5-2 and that delay the defending maturing of brazilians fullbacks. All I heard Apodi is a hard-worker guy, and has the mentality(unlike Cicinho, Ilsinho or Mancine) to be a good defender...but itīs hard to spend a non-Eu spot on a raw player.

Since he would be cheap, imo to buy him and loan to a Serie A team has the potentiality of being a great business. Today, heīs better than anything we have in attack terms, but to play in Milan is another history. Said that, Apodi possesss the conditions to grow as defender, only needs the right coaches.

A "potential" faster(less smart) Daniel Alves, but more talented than others expiriences like Grimmi. With the right managment, Apodi could be a great fullback in Europe, no doubt.

Thanks for the words, t.gianni :smileani:
Since I saw the crazy hype about brazilian players clearly made by agents or uninformed journalists (more in Spain) in european sites and newspapers, and I know Brazilian championship is hardly watched in Europe, I just use this thread to update the appearence of new pearl and demystify the appearance of the new Ronaldinhoīs, Robinhoīs, Kakáīs fakes...

Of course itīs just based on my opinion, but the thread is open to shows Iīm more certain than wrong on my predictions(no intention to be cocky :smileani: ).

Regarding your question: Fluminense had the twin brothers Fabio(LB) and Rafael Silva(RB), both are of Patoīs generation...I said had, because only this week I knew the rumour they already had been bought by the M.United is true :depress:

Btw, Alex Ferguson is being agressive with brazilian youngsters...just this week also, I discovered a brazilian youngster CM/DM named Fabio Possebon product of Internacional(same team of Falcão, Pato, Nilmar, Sobis, Sidnei) that almost no one(outside of the State of Rio Grande do Sul ) in Brazil saw playing...All i heard that this boy is alreading impressing A. Ferguson and they arenīt more in the hunt for portuguese new star Miguel Veloso of Sporting of Portugal, and will play with M. United first team next season.
http://br.youtube.com/watch?v=sldXY8fTqPY

Most of our young wingbacks are in Europe right now, even the twins. Apodi that is still here has the talent, but lacks experience and is raw. Others promises still are promises...on the LB position the situation is still worse and not only in Brazil, but in all the world.

Right now, players(in Brazil) with talent or potential to play in Milan:
Hernanes- CM of São Paulo Guilherme- Foward of Cruzeiro
Ramires- CM of Cruzeiro Sidnei- CB of Internacional
Arouca- DM of Fluminense Nilmar- Foward of Internacional
Wagner-AMD of Cruzeiro Apodi- RB of Cruzeiro
Diego Cavallieri- GK of Palmeiras Lulinha-AMD Corinthians
Alex Teixeira- AMD, second striker winnger of Vasco da Gama.

As I said, some of this guys has the potential, but a few(like Hernanes) has the maturity to step in San Siro and to pay right now...imo.

Regarding Nilmar, itīs a shame what injures can do in players careers...
I donīt know if he could have reached Ronado level(IMO Pato can), but he is by far a better talent than Elber or Amoroso. Nothing against both, but a fit Nilmar was in another level...

One thing caught my atention over Nilmar: I remember when Tevez was playing for Corinthians, and was named Brazilian Championship Golden Ball(deservedly, since Robinho goes to Madrid). Tevez was by far the best foward playing in Brazil, but since the day Nilmar came to Corinthians, the difference between both was clear. Tevez continued playing very well, but Nilmar was playing at level above.

Sure Nilmar lacks a strong body(he improved a lot), but his pace, skills and abilitys are amazing. Very intelligent, great character and only his injures had kept him in Brazil. Nilmar also was the choice to be in Brazil NT in 2006 World Cup(and would have helped a lot), but his first BIG injure broke his dream...

Right now, heīs playing in International, but not at the old form. Imo he needs a injure free(knee) season to regain total confidence. Before he goes back to Internacional, I was hoping our managment had brought him to heal in Milanelo, since Nilmar was a free transfer...

I really hope the best for Nilmar...great player and great human being. No player deserve injures, but some deserve much less...and feel free to bring any question, dru :)

Gabriel, the only name linked to Milan is Hernanes of São Paulo...but at the same time, some reliable journalist said thet Barcelona is pushing hard for him, and maybe Hernanes goes to Barįa.

Since Leonardo has great ralationship with São Paulo, to lose Hernanes to another team(thereīs a talk about Inter also) will be a great mistake. This guy is playing at amazing level, and I have no doubt to say that he is the only guy that can play at Pirlo role and make us not miss the first one.

To be straight, if I was Brazilīs NT coach, this guy would be a starter in Brazil midfield...even Dino Sani, brazilian and Milan legend, said that heīs impressed by Hernanes, and that have admiration for the way the guy plays...and that tells much, because Dino Sani was the first guy to play the "Pirloīs role" in Milan several years ago.

Since Hernanes already played as a AMD, RB, second striker, winger in his short career(23 years old), I was waiting for him to play more than one season at "Pirloīs role" to be convinced...and today I have no doubt, a future world class player after he land in Europe.

Indeed. I saw Hernanes saying that to play one more year in Brazil wouldnīt be a problem...regarding teams, itīs hard to know because he didnīt talk about names.

@Siregar
Yep, in Pato I bet high because when I said we need to buy him, I just had watched 1 game of the #7 :) ...but it was clear that that 16yo kid wasnīt a normal player. I think you guys have the same sensation when saw Pato playing for the first time...the boy has a confidence and aura of a star.

Hernanes is playing better and better, and is showing he can be "the man" for a big team in Brazil. this is important when I put my "credibility as scout"
in jeopardy:)

Joking aside, the player can have talent, but until I saw him puting the team on his back, dealing with the pressure of a big club in Brazil, I canīt bet heīs ready for a big of Europe like Milan. In the past, I saw young guys like Pato, Marcelo, Lucas, Anderson doing this here besides their young age, and I have no doubt they would go to be a success in Europe.

When a player have talent+hard-work+character, and shows that can perform in a big club here, I have no doubt they will shine in a great(and steady) environment as our Milan...

Btw, keep an eye in Alex Teixeira from Vasco da Gama...I have a feeling this boy will be a star. My only "If" is that I donīt have reports about his character to know if the boy has a good head or no. But the talent is amazing...

Firts of ALL, I would like to say THANK YOU Brasiliero for making things beutifull in here and making us love Brasilian magical football even more! This thread is priceless and Im sure no other forum in the world has it! The way you explain the caracteristics of young players in priceless... My bows to you and big thanx for efforts !!! Aguess football really sometimes makes people come closer. :rone:

More, on one of the Serbian tv stations ( which I can catch from Croatia ) there are matches of Brasilian lkeague once a week, or even twice sometimes so I watch it. I have to say I have real problems in watching that kind of football and judging players potentials. For us eruopeans its not easy to watch that kind of open play and a game where 22 players all have brilliant technique and still find out which player can really play in Europe (Milan).

Sao Paulo is a cluib that has been broadcaseted oftenly and I see Adriano playing POOR and slow football, that is not the Imperatore he once was and I completely understand what you said that Brasilian papers exagarrate in him.

Hernanes I've seen only 2 times, once for Brasil and once for a club. He looked like a truly responsible player with brains, and a player that can play Euro football in Milan. But I havent seen enough of him yet.

Also I have a question that has been bothering me. I, personally, have a feeling that our boy PAto has been playing BELOW the level he can play! Do not get me wrong, he played great in these circumstances (poor Milan, high pressure, low striker partner quality...). But in matches ike Torino-Milan or Milan-Lazio Pato showed he can, with his 18 years and one serious season, play by himself and carry whole AC MILAN on his shoulders. My personal feeling is that Pato right now has bad luck and Brasil is not playing well nor is Milan. And when Milan starts playing serious passing game, with PAto having his freedom he needs, he will shine and show he could be a better player then Sheva for example.

For a long time I havent seen a young player so strong going vertically. He needs MORE FREEDOM and one good forwarsd with him and we'll see brilliant PAto.

What do you think, has PAto played his full football or, as I think, he has just showed glimpses of his real football? Cheers.

For us eruopeans its not easy to watch that kind of open play and a game where 22 players all have brilliant technique and still find out which player can really play in Europe (Milan).

Great point, mrki...last month I was watching a TV show, and if Iīm not wrong It was Zico saying about the diferent ways we(South Americans) and Europeans see a player. Itīs not that one is 100% right and the other 100% wrong...the fact is that we just praise some caracteristcs and european anothers.

Look at Robinhoīs case. Just because heīs VERY skilled, R. Madrid coaches put him as a winger. He can play there, but at the same time, heīs also more easy to defend if stay only in the left because he doesnīt know how to play with the back for a defender. Imo a winger needs to know that, or he will be easily shut down by a fast(and good) fullback...Roben and S. Wright-Philips have the same body(or even less) of Robinho, but they are used to it since they are kids to hold a defender at his back. They have the know how to play as a winger.

I have some good discussion with respectable poster(europeans) in another forum about Robinho in Chelsea...in EPL. Itīs funny how the majority jump to attack his body saying he canīt play there. But others(also europeans and mostly Arsenal and MU fans) realy look at the same way we do here. If you put Robinho in EPL as a pure winger, he wil have problems, but if you give him the free role, even in the left, as Wenger used to play Henry, he will shine. Schuster almost did this and Robinho had a amazing year until the abdominal injure.

I used this example just to show how some times we see diferents things in the same player...and why I can say before the guy goes to europe, if he will be a bust or not. The player can have all the talent in the world, but if heīs used out of position, he will fail. I realy donīunderstand why a team(R. Madrid) pay 30Mil for one player to play him in a wong position...This is why guys like Monchi(The Braida of Sevilla) buy unkown players in Brazil(for the majority in Europe) like Alves, Renato, Adriano and they become great players. Itīs simple, Sevilla use the players wrer they can shine. They balance our vison(S. Americans) with the way europeans see the game. Itīs easy, but people forget this simple thing...

Sao Paulo is a cluib that has been broadcaseted oftenly and I see Adriano playing POOR and slow football, that is not the Imperatore he once was and I completely understand what you said that Brasilian papers exagarrate in him.
Yep, this hype for Adriano in Brazil is crazy. He was scoring with S. Paulo, but as you saw he was POOR. Any people watching Adriano withou bias would see this...

Hernanes I've seen only 2 times, once for Brasil and once for a club. He looked like a truly responsible player with brains, and a player that can play Euro football in Milan. But I havent seen enough of him yet.
Hernanes isnīt called "the brazilian Pirlo" for nothing...as you said, when you see Hernanes to play, the first thing caught the atention is: "This guy is a cerebral player"..."He knows how to use his brain more than other players"...like when we see Pilro playing.

Also I have a question that has been bothering me. I, personally, have a feeling that our boy PAto has been playing BELOW the level he can play! Do not get me wrong, he played great in these circumstances (poor Milan, high pressure, low striker partner quality...). What do you think, has PAto played his full football or, as I think, he has just showed glimpses of his real football? Cheers.
Another great point, and youīre 100% right. As I said in another thread, the problem is: Pato is still learning how to play as a second striker. He isnīt confortable playing in the left or right, or more far from the goal. Because heīs skilled and not that big, people(Carlo also) think heīs a segunda punta. But this boy alawys played as a pure CF...this is why here they compare him to Ronaldo, Romário and not Bebeto. But at the same time, heīs 18yo and it wil be good for him to learn how to play a new role...but I just hope they leave him play at his original position also.

Sure the boy has all the tools to play as a second striker, but right now he is at his best as a CF...as we saw in his goals against Napoli, Fiorentina and others. As you said, heīs amazing going vertically and also is a great header.

Imo learning a new position in the most dificult place to play as a foward in the world, and injures, hold his development a little bit. But Iīm still impressed by the way handle his fisrt seson, and I have a feeling he will be Serie A top scorer this season if he stay injure free. Huge bet, but his goals average make me feel confortable beting...

Nope, the spot is only one, for a new player per season. It doesn't matter how many non-EU forigners you have/had. There's no limit how many non-EU player you can have in the squad (for example printer, they have tons of argentinians, brazilians, columbians, serbians, etc.), you can only sign one new in one season, unless that non-EU player plays in Italy already...

Its just like I am often confused with your Abbreviation, Brasileiro. :D

I think, we dont have any standard here in MM about player position's abbreviation. Sometimes its called DC, sometimes CD, sometimes DF, etc. What make more confused when talking about midifielder position : CM, MC, AMC, CAM, DMC, etc. :D

Youīre right, Siregar:rotfl:
Defender for me is CB
Midfield position is areal mess, as you said. Iīm learning everyday new abbreviations for idfield positions...its crazy :)

milan have an idea for new GK, he is Felipe Garcia Dos Prazeres from Brazil he is 20 and plays for Santos

would tell us more for him Brasilerio??

IMO this is BS, Vulli...
Felipe has all the tools to be a amazing keeper. Heīs playing in Brazil youth team for a long time, but the guy isnīt even a starter in Santos. Ok, he played (and very good) for some time as a starter, but he is very raw to be promoted for a starter in our Milan.

If it was a investment for the future, itīs good, but for the first team, and to waste our non-EU spot, hell no!! This is a kid, very talented kid, but heīs not used to the pression of being a starter in a big club(like Pato).

There was rumours about Milan going for Diego Cavallieri(from Palmeiras)...now, this is a guy that can deliver...and he has a Italian passport also...because, to waste a EU spot in a GK in our situation isnt a good thing(IMO).

Great defender, Vulli...
Amazing recovery speed, pace and skills for a defender. Doesnīt receive lots of cards(for me, itīs a great thing to have a defender that isnīt suspended a lot)and also a great professional and character.
Thiago also plays seriously, and despite his skills set(high for a CB), he rarely(is this word?) risks its position going foward. He also possesss a great shot and already did great goals from outside.

The 2 IFīs about Thiago(IMO) are:
- Heīs unproven outside Brazil, since, when he was at Porto, Tiago had a serious injure, and didnīt played. About his time at Dinamo I donīt have information...Btw, be unproven isnīt a big thing, at leats for me, because proven Serie A players failed badly when they had come to Milan.

As I said before, if a player is used to be "the man" in a BIG team in Brazil, I feel myself more comfortable that he will not flop, than a Serie A great performer(brazilian, italian, french, spanish, colombian...) playing for a middle or small team. The pression in Brazilīs biggest clubs are cruel and unfair, and this give players mental strenght to play in a big team like Milan.

Just to place in perspective this pression thing: the same bad strech Kaká had in his second season at Milan, he had at São Paulo. After win the Golden Ball in Brazil, Kaká was playing bad at São Paulo some months before he came to Milan, and in contrast of the support that it received in Milan, São Paulo fans booed him every game, calling him choker, f** and other not so beautiful adjectives...we brazilians loves football, but we are by far the most unfair fans in the world, no doubt. ... and if a player can handle that in Big club in Brazi(and is also a real professional and high character guy, no doubt he will handle the pression of to play in big of Europe.

- The second IF, and this is a personal IF, is that imo we need a bruiser and aerial game specialist(like Terry, Alex...) to be paired with Nesta. We are so poor in set pieces and aerial game, and that isnīt even funny. I have no doubt that if Rafa Benitez put Crouch early in that final in Istambul, that game would have, at least, go to overtime...but donīt get me wrong, Thiago is good in aerial game, but he just isnīt dominant.

Regarding your question, Vulli...yep, Thiago Silva is "Milan material", no doubt....and I go for him over Zapata any day. Itīs just my opinion, but like in the near past with the hype arround Perea(Atletico Madrid), and after to watch Zapata playing not only in Udinese but also for Colombia, I have no doubt that Thiago is a better defender.

Btw, if I was a Milan director, I have no doubt that the brazilian defender I go for is David Luiz of Benfica... since my(and Ancelotti) first choice appears to be impossible rigth now with the possible departure of Ricardo Carvalho of Chelsea.

Giancarlo, the disparity between the two regarding price just show the disparity regarding talent. Thereīs no doubt Thiago is 2 or 3 times better than Alex Silva. I really hope we donīt buy Alex Silva, the guy isnīt good enough to play in a big club of Europe. Thiago is a defender in the mold of Nesta, and imo we need a big defender to pair with Nesta, Maldini or Kaladze...but if we buy him, I will be pleased, because the guy has it all for to be a WC defender...

Jim, if I have to chose one of them, there is no doubt it would be Hernanes.
As Kris said, Hernanes is(and play) as Pirlo...but T. Neves donīt play like Nedved. Both have a great left-foot, but T. Neves doesnīt have the level of work to play as a left mid in Europe. Heīs a pure AMD, and imo a bit overrated...as I said in other post, before a "Tiago Neves purchase", thereīs no doubt I would go for Hernanes, Ramires or Wagner of Cruzeiro.
Regarding your questions:
Better player - Hernanes
Faster - equal
Bigger goal threat- T. Neves
Better passer - Hernanes
Better tackler- Hernanes
This is a little decieve, because both donīt play the same role, but Hernanes imo is by far the better player. T. Neves also is a BIG diver, and I know you as English fan would love him :haha:

Long time without post in MM, sorry my friend.
Btw, itīs time to update you guy about the new "Brazilians pearls" and the overrated/over hyped ones...at least by my opinion.

The name of the moment now is Keirisson(what a name!?!?!).
First of all, the ones reading this thread since the begining, remember that after I saw just a few games of Pato I said here that a new "fenômeno" was born. And despite being bashed by one member here(as always) the time is proving that I was right.
Well, despite the amazing goals numbers(41 last year playing for Coritiba) and if Iīm not wrong 16 goals in 10 games this year for Palmeiras, Iīm still not sold on this boy...not as a new "fenômeno" as people are saying here in Brazil. One thing is for sure...he won in one of my parameters. As heīs performing in a BIG Club in Brazil. Several new "W. Class future players" failed when they goes from a small to a big club in Brazil. Not Keirrisson. But I still wan to see him showing this level at Brasileirão or Libertadores da América...were Keirisson didnīt show the same level as in the State Championship of São Paulo.
Now talking about his style. Remember a more skilled and much more faster Van Nistelroy...yep, the boy is a killer in the area. Thats fact.

Tomorrow I will to write about Brazilians best players(imo) in the last South American Championship(Brazil Campeão!! :) )...Sandro(DM) and Giuliano(all purpose mid) from Internacional(same of Pato), or anyone you guys ask...

Also, Neymar of Santos is the name everyone is talking here right now.

Can Hernanes play box-to-box football if he's asked to interpret that on the field? Does he have such caracteristics? I havent seen him enough so I cant tell. And when I saw him he played pretty deep.

Your wish is a order, mrki :)
Hernanes form is still superb!! Still the best player in Brazil(playing here)...the guy is all class(on and off the field).

Regarding what you asked...yes, I can say today that he can interpret all the roles as a midfielder. Even the Kakáīs role...

I said even, because if you remember, Hernanes(as Pirlo) started to play as a AMD, but failed to impress at professional level. After that, he played as support striker, right-back, right-mid, left-mid and was only above average.

It was a smart move by Muricy Ramalho(São Paulo coach) that reinvented Hernanes career, as he put the guy to play in the same role as Pirlo. But this year, in some games Hernanes is also shining in Kakáīs role(besides hge saying that do not want to play there), were he failed in the past.

If I was a Milan advice(someone tell them to hire me:) ), Hernanes would be my second priority(a big and great defender, the first) for the next season. He can replace Pirlo, be a upgrade at Seedorf role or do the same work on the right side of the midfield. He also can replace kaká(with less speed) if needed. Plus, this is a high character lad, and a great influence for our future looker-room without Maldini...

Itīs not coincidence a coach like Guardiola, with the likes of Iniesta, Xavi, Keita at the same position, and with the love for the beatifull game, still pushes Barcelona board to buy Hernanes...

If only Dunga wasnīt so dumb:angf:

In any case Milan will not have and use of Hernanes becouse then Ancelotti would have to bench Pirlo, Seedorf or Beckham and make Ambrosini 100% reserve palyer. And that will not happen in here unless we change the structure in the Milanello drastically.

We already have problems with having too many players who feel like they need to be in the first 11 always. And if we bring back Yoan and one more forward we'll have more then few problems in managing the suqad ( not the team on the field, the squad ).

Hi edysupriadi!
As I wrote here some time ago, T. Neves was over hyped and overrated by Brazilian press. Good player, great left-leg(amazing free-kick taker) but not a canīt miss talent. Also, donīt like his character...always whining and very selfish.

Thereīs no way I want this guy at Milan...a left-footed mid in Brazil better than Neves, is Wagner of Cruzeiro. Great talent, good guy, and can play in more than one position on the midfield. But the guy(besides to play in a great club) donīt play in Rio de Janeiro or São Paulo market, so the hype isnīt big. Better talent than Neves imo, and a much better professional.

But if I was to buy someone of Cruzeiro, it will be Ramires, no doubt. Also talked about him last year here. People call him the "new Toninho Cerezo" scudetto champion with Sampdoria, because he literally play all over the field!! Itīs impressive how much ground this skinny mid cover in one game!!

Ramires(like Hernanes) would give Milanīs game another dimension, since they can play multiple position in midfield, scores a lot(for a defensive midfielder), and help the defense...and doing all this in a amazing level...

You have no idea how mad people are in Brazil with Dunga donīt calling both to the national team :irritate: We(Brazil NT and Milan) need this type of player on the midfield, some one that will run a lot, but with amazing quality.

A guy like Hernanes or Ramires can take over Seedorf spot(Iīm glad with everything he gave to Milan, but canīt stand more his laziness, and he killing all of our counter-attacks), and bring much more speed and more important: CONSISTENCE to our midfield.

But I heard today from a great source at the press, that Tixi Begirinstain(sp?), the Barcelona vice-president that I saw last week in Brazil, came to see Keirrisson, but left even more impressed by Hernanes...and since Hernanes is a favorite of Guardiola and we rarely enter in a bid war, I think the dream of to see Hernanes in a Milan jersey is becoming more distant...shame!!!:irritate:

As Milan are already said to be interested in Neymar, you 'must' then give view about this new talent. :grinser: (or did I miss your post about Neymar?)

That news said that Pele praised him a lot but in certain forum I read said that Pele is bad at evaluating players or new talents.

Hi Brasileiro, just interested to know. Whats your opinion on Gourcuff and how do you rate him compared to some of the players from Brazil you have mentioned?
Well, I think this is the first time I talk about Gourcuff...
Never saw the boy before he came to Milan, but after to see him in Italy and now in France, I have no doubt that the talent is there. But, now, Iīm really starting to doubt he has the mentality to play in a big club like Milan.

To be fair, Iīm all for to give Gourcuff a second chance, since there are several factors that can to ruin a player display in a club. Besides, the guy has the talent, but Iīm not with the ones that think it was Carloīs fault that Gourcuff didnīt shone in Milan.

My fear is that Gourcuff is the type of player that can excel in a middle club(or N. Team) but that feel the pressure of a big one. A guy of the type of Milito, a killer in Zaragoza and in Genova, but that diminished in Argentine NT, where there are so much pressure.

I had this feeling with Borriello either, as imo he had several chance to shine in Milan before, and did nothing. It was clear that the guy was feeling the pressure. Now, a boy like Paloschi, had less chance than both, but leave that feeling that the red&black shirt was not weighing in its shoulders. Having a bad or good day, I could see that it was not the pressure bothering him...

Regarding your second question, imo Gourcuff is a much better player that T. Neves...by far!!! But if I have to chose between Hernanes or Yohan(sp?) the first would be my choice. Maybe Gourcuff is a slight better at AMD position(maybe), but the difference is minimal, and at the other roles at the midfield, Hernanes wins by a large margin.

Ramires is a unique player. He doesnīt have the classical style of Gourcuff or Hernanes, but it isnīt a trunk either. "Ramires the warrior"(as Cruzeiro fans calls him) is a guy in the style of Gerrard(look, Iīm not comparing both)...a player that runs literally all the field and do everything on the pitch. Heīs the type of guy that will tackle and win the ball at the defense, and will be the first one of the midfield that will arrive next to the CF to finishing the play and scores. He has amazing finishing skills for a defensive mid.

Sorry for the big post, but just to finish, I think the buy of Hernanes or Ramires are compatible with the come back of Gourcuff. I just doubt that Yohan will accept to be the backup of Kaká. Because, imo, he has no chance to compete and win a battle for the others positions of the mid with the likes of Hernanes, Ramires or Flamini...

Hope Iīm wrong, because Gourcuf has all the tools(mentality???) to be W. Class player...

As Milan are already said to be interested in Neymar, you 'must' then give view about this new talent. :grinser: (or did I miss your post about Neymar?)

http://www.channel4.com/sport/football_italia/apr2f.html

That news said that Pele praised him a lot but in certain forum I read said that Pele is bad at evaluating players or new talents.
I just watched about 2 highlights about Neymar and he seems having big talent but I think, he is still a very raw material (logic as he is only 17 years old).

No, I just throw Neymar name, but disnīt wrote about him.
Pele is bad about results, if he said one team will win, generally this team lose :)

Back to Neymar, he reminds me the young Robinho...but heīs tall and besides to be skinny, has room to gain more weight.

People often misunderstood the type of player that Robinho is(even now)...so, Iīm get prepared to read the same BS about this boy regarding his style of play.

Neymar, like Robinho, has amazing dribble skills. But his game, like Robinho, excel when he doesnīt have to rely on his dribble alone. They show all the potential when they play "one touch"(as we call here, tabela) at full speed to receive the ball in condition that a defender canīt use the body(legally) to stop them. I donīt know if I was clear with this "one touch" thing:confused:

I will try again...a player like Messi, also with amazing dribble skills(and small), just glue the ball at his feet, and pass through everybody. His low gravity center, allows him support the contact(when legal), and this is why he can also play as a winger in Europe.

To put a player like Robinho(and Neymar, at least for now), in a wing position in Europe is waste 50% of his talent. Both, if placed at a wing, will easily be annulled by a smart coach.

So, for my Brazil, it would be great if Neymar landed in a team like Milan and with a coach like Carlo. I canīt see we buying Neymar with our necessities, and his price, but it would be great for Milan, and of course for Brazil.

To be honest, Iīm preparing myself top see this young boy being badly used by some types of European coaches that only know to play one type of scheme. (now I will get a slack:) )

Guys like Rijkaard, Van Basten, Capello(I doubt, because he doesnīt like brazilians forwards), Lippi, Juande Ramos, if put the hands on this young boy, will throw him to the left or right-wing, and kill his game. Heīs a second forward, period. But at the day he goes to Europe(like Robinho) they will do only what they know to do...adapt the player to they scheme, and not do a scheme to take the best of the player.

Look, Iīm not saying these coaches know nothing about the game, far from that. But their stubbornness with the 4-3-3 or 4-4-2 flat, will kill this boy game and confidence. Heck, even that project(and horrible) coach that Dunga is, take the best of Robinho playing him as segunda-punta. It canīt be that hard...

As you saw, I wrote a lot about Robinho, because this boy reminds me a lot about the 18 old Robinho that I saw on Santos...and theres nothing better for you to know about Neymar game than imagine a young Robinho, or saw his Youtubes videos of Santoīs time.

BTW, a little relief:
Robinho would have do wonders for us if instead of that lazy and unmotivated Ronaldinho(man, Iīm hating this guy:angf: ). You just need to watch Brazil NT with and without Ronaldinho. We actually(even with Dunga)play like a team when he isnīt there!!! Itīs incredible how people still believe this guy will be the same. Funny is that Robinho get a lot of slack in the news because of "supposed parties", when I know the true histories here in Brazil, and how Ronaldinho spend times and times "closing" brothel for him and his friends...

It would be great if Manchester City was really interested in Ronaldinho. A swap, even with more money would be great for us. We need to get rid of that dead weight, period. One of the most amazing players that I saw in my life, but that right now, is just a spoiled and unmotivated ex-footballer :angf:

One more time, sorry for the relief :smileanni:

P.S. Be prepared for his brother/agent(Assis) starts to put stories about teams wanting Ronaldinho...

we got Pato dint we....and we have Dinho, Kaka, Leonardo, Cafu, Pato all at Milan (all these are Brazilian legends)... we have others also that complete the count in Serginho, Dida, Mattioni and Emerson.... trust me, Neymar is the one dreaming to be linked to Milan, not us.

Why 'keep dreaming'? About Keirrison I can understand if you said the same sentence as he is owned (or something like that) not by the club he plays for but a group or company (like Tevez' contract). For me it seems so complicated to deal with such group/company.

Not I really want this kid but I dont think it's a dream for Milan to bring the kid to Milanello even Barca and Madrid take a part in the bid. If he is a ready (experienced) player, the margin Milan and Barca/Real want to pay could be so big but not for a young Brasilian player.

Let's take example of Pato. He costed about 20 mil euros (15 mil pounds) if I remember correctly. It was a huge money for a very young player (who was not yet 18 years old). Barca or Madrid, if they also want to buy Pato, won't go far away from that value IMO. Not like when Milan and Barca made offer for Henry. Barca can make much more offer for such player compare to Milan as they have advantage in wages taxes (more money for transfer fee and wages). For young players I don't think wages is a big issue. They will think more about the club itself and Milan have something that other big club don't have : Brasilian connection/family :D.

So, if Leonardo insists that this player has huge talent like Pato or even more, I am sure Galliani.co will try their best to capture the kid.

As I wrote here some time ago, T. Neves was over hyped and overrated by Brazilian press. Good player, great left-leg(amazing free-kick taker) but not a canīt miss talent. Also, donīt like his character...always whining and very selfish.

Yep, thats my worry...
When Neymar was 15yl, he almost became a Madrid player(he trained there for some days), but Santos President give the boy a HUGE contract and his father(ex-football player) thought it was a better idea to stay in Brazil.

Man, I really donīt want to see this boy at Madrid. They will throw him to the wing(or Bandas, as they said in Spain), and after the kid start to play inconstant, the rumor of Neymar at Parties, drinking and being unprofessional will surface...They always do this in Spain. Before was only with Brazilians, now even Snejder(sp?) is being labeled as drunker :rollani:

Btw, they are so naive, that they will take Peléīs praise for the kid as a real fact, and think(as with Robinho), that the boy will be the new Pelé. When for the one that saw Pele playing knows that their game are different, and that itīs impossible to reach Pele level...

Actually, Gourcuff and Gilardino are two very different cases ...

Gilardino made an average/good first season alongside Shevchenko (not as good as what people waited for but he scored as many goals in one year as Pato, the difference is that Pato has more and more confidence and will still score because he has more skills), and the problem is that Ancelotti and more generally the club burnt him just in few months when Shevchenko left. Even if Oliveira was introduced as the replacement of Shevchenko, the player who played alone was Gilardino and it's what they shouldn't have done. His only role was to give the ball back to Kaka'.

Then, it was very difficult for him to come back to his level with no real reinforcement in attack, no player like Pato alongside him. Then Pato arrived, but it was too late, and Ancelotti decided to play Pato alone when he was fit anyway instead of using them together ...

So Ancelotti, the fans, and Gilardino himself are all responsible for his failure.

For Gourcuff, you're right, the problem was his mentality and it's clearly what said Ancelotti. But Gourcuff was young (he is still :D) when he came and he wasn't really the leader of his former club (he was a sure starter but no pressure), so how could he have the right mentality to play in Milan ? But he is more mature right now, and this year in Bordeaux is exactly what he needed: earning confidence.
He has become the leader of Bordeaux in a role he never played before (he was a kind of left midfielder/winger before coming to Milan, he didn't have any real role in Milan, and for the first time in his career, he plays like a central midfielder/attacking midfielder), that worked, he has done things he never showed before, he has become, maybe not the leader, but for sure a future leader of the French NT too (the real leader is Ribéry nowadays).

So, we don't know if he will come back, but this year was/is for sure the step he missed by going directly in Milan after a middle-table club of Ligue 1, and he is now ready to play in a big club, I'm pretty sure about that, and I don't say that because I'm French (I criticized him in Milan and I'm not the biggest fan of the French players, you can find posts from myself about Nasri, Ménez, etc).

EDIT: And I'm totally off topic :D (was just a thought after the post #482).

Now, seriously, great post. I agree with everything you wrote(but not 100% about Gilla)...and when I write about a Brazilian player that I think has all the tools to do good at Milan, this "leader of his team role", with the talent, is imo the most important thing.

As Brazilian players said here...you need to "kill a lion everyday" when you are a foreign player, because the press and people donīt accept nothing but excellency of a foreigner...So, the guy really needs to be strong mentally to play in other country and in a team like Milan.

Btw, donīt worry about being French and praise a French player. Often people think youīre being biased, but theres nothing you can do about this...

Actually, to be fair, I'd have to add that I only see 3 French players able to play in Milan nowadays: Flamini of course, Gourcuff, and Lloris (too bad we missed him last summer).

The others are not good enough, they don't play in a position that we need regarding the formations we use, or they just don't have the right mentality (most of the players in the French NT are arrogant for example, but anyway, it's maybe because they're French :D).

Then maybe the likes of Clichy or Ribéry could be useful for us in the following years (for Clichy, if he becomes as good as people expect him to be, and for Ribéry, only if we change the way we play, but anyway, his head is going to explode since they call him Kaiser Franck in Munich), but nowadays, I just don't see them in Milan.

Thanks for the reply brasileiro, probably wasnt fair of me to ask you to evaluate a player you dont follow as closely.

About all these Brazilian and non Brazilian talents, it doesnt really matter anymore who we get. The supply has far exceeded our demand. Every next big thing seems to be followed by another 5.

I think the most important thing for clubs like Milan is to not get too desperate over a certain player. If we sign the next big hype whos game is most suited to what we need we will be fine. But if Galliani keeps getting players who are duplicates then we will go crashing out of Europe by better balanced sides every year.

About Gourcuff, I remember when he first came to milan, the guy was 'pure football'. He kept talking about being young and learning. He didnt realise that you cant take a break at Milan and Carlo really did not help. Martin Laursen recently gave an interview saying how terrified he was to make a mistake at Milan or you would ge frozen from the team. Imagine a young playmaker like Gourcuff. Carlo really needs to add a level of competition to the squad and the chance for palyers to prove them selves after mistakes. All of Gourcuff's recent interviews, he says how ready he is and this is shown by his France NT performances. If Carlo plays him and shos him trust Gourcuff should suceed.

To be fair, in 2 years in Germany, Breno only played 4 or 5 games and thats hard for any player, and even more for defenders and goalkeepers. Said that, the boy has talent, but as I said in the past, I would(and will) take David Luiz of Benfica any day over Breno.

Man, I was bashed a lot at a Brazilian forum :) ...and the funny part was that the majority never saw David Luiz playing. Now I can see what I wrote happening on the field, and I will strike back :tong:

To be fair, in 2 years in Germany, Breno only played 4 or 5 games and thats hard for any player, and even more for defenders and goalkeepers. Said that, the boy has talent, but as I said in the past, I would(and will) take David Luiz of Benfica any day over Breno.

Man, I was bashed a lot at a Brazilian forum :) ...and the funny part was that the majority never saw David Luiz playing. Now I can see what I wrote happening on the field, and I will strike back :tong:

So my friends, be careful about the new "Brazilians pearl"(or Italian, French, Dutch...) as: T. Neves, Rafael Sobis, Dagoberto, Alex Silva, Carlinhos...

Theres so much promiscuity between Agents and press(wanting to sell papers), and Iīm glad that our Board(Galiani, Braida, Leonardo) isnīt easily impressed by the "new" kaká, Messi, Robinho, Maldini, Daniel Alves etc...

I haven't watched Bayern Munich or Breno at all during this season, except for in Champions League, but to be fair, Bayern might have lost 4-0 tonight to Barca, but I didn't see anything that made Breno look particularly bad. Barcelona just seemed so extremly good.

I agree about our board's (Leonardo's :) ) scouting abilities... When it comes to signing players from Brazil, our club has been excellent.

As I wrote, the problem with Breno wasnīt talent(as with Alex Silva), but that the boy was(is) raw...I saw(and read) people in Brazil 1 year ago saying that this boy needed to be a starter in Brazil :v46:

Yep, people loves to bash our board(some times with a good reason), but they also know football. At least Brazilian football, as you said:smileani:

Roque Junior aside, Kaká, Pato are amazing purchases. I also know they almost purchased Alex. In fact, Braida came to Brazil to watch him and approved the purchase, but Milan went out of the fight because at that time, they didnīt enter in a bid fight...

Huge mistake that they learned, as we fight for Patoīs purchased...

Yes, you said it when we are linked with Breno year(s) ago. We were also linked with him in this season but Milan finally took Thiago Silva.

What I am still confused is about his age. There were rumours I read (forget where I read it) that he is actually older than 19 years old.

At least they tried again with Thiago Silva. I am really waiting for his games with us in official games because I love his style. But I still hope Milan add a WC defender next season to be paired with him.

Watching the game, I was thinking about our actual defense against that Barca team...

Scary...

Brasiliero, I'll ask the question in here as it gets lost in the "mercato" thread:

Has Thiago played as a RB in Brasil in some part of his career? And do you consider him capable of doing that considering his caracteristics?
