Yersterday in Cruzeiro X Fluminense game, an TV GLOBO reporter, said that kaká father and 2 Milan directors(they didn´t say the name of both) were in the game to see some players(no names also)...
This is only one assumption, but, IMO these 2(Wagner and Marcelo) are the ones that Milan directors were looking at. Both are called for the first time to Brazil NT by Dunga, and has the talent to play in Milan. Even if it will not be for coming now, the purchase of both will be the smart thing to do. CSKA tried to purchase Marcelo some months ago(Fluminense asked for 5 MIL) but the player vetoed the negotiation, saying the it don´t want to play in Russia. Mark my words, barring injure, this kid will be the best LB of the world...Marcelo was a starter in sub-15, sub-17, sub-20 Brazil NT and at just 18 years old receive his first call to Seleção...I hope that Milan office surprise me end purchase both right now(mainly Marcelo), for just 4 or 5 MIL(and if is the case loan both) before a team like Sevilla buy this kids and after some years wants 15 MIL for the players...
For the ones that don´t know the players, I made a little scout of them in a old topic here in MM:
B]Wagner [/B] Ferrreira dos Santos(Cruzeiro; 1985): He isn´t too young like Marcelo and others, but isn´t too old also. Amazing left foot MD, great skils , pass vision, dribble and shot!!
This guy impress me since I saw him playing in the LMD(Seedorf role in Milan) last year. This year in Brasileirão, Wagner is playing in Kaká role, and right now, is the top scorer of Brasileirão with 8 goals(and 8 ast.) Wagner is Brasil NT material, fror sure!!!
Here you guys can see Wagner:
http://www.cruzeiro.com.br/cruzeiro/profissional/jogadores/

Marcelo Vieira da Silva Júnior(Fluminense; 1988)
IMO, this kid will be the best LB of the World in the near future(bresides his age)!!! He was in the same Brazil U17 team w/ Kerlon, Anderson, Ramon...Amazing talent, has everything what you need in a LB. Of course he needs to improve defensive skills, but you can see that is just matter of time and experience. This kid has it all!! Amazing skills, pace, dribbles and is a little dirty :diablo: like Gattuso and Daniel Alves...Marcelo is already a regular starter in Fluminense first team, and everytime that I see Marcelo playing(last night for example) his game is improving!! It´s not a strech to say that Marcelo has the same dribble ability of Robinho and Ronaldinho, but playing in the LB.
Brazil NT material , for sure.
You can see his picture here:
http://www.fluminense.com.br/futebol/d_index.asp?idn=1119

I hyped both some months ago when nobody even talked about them in Brazil, and now they are called for Seleção. W/ Alex (PSV) the same thing happened...Man, I will go to work as scout!! :grinser:

Players involved in the game yesterday:

Cruzeiro
Fábio; Luizão (Diego), Edu Dracena e Thiago Heleno; Michel, Jonilson (Diogo), Sandro (Francismar), Wagner e Julio César; Carlinhos Bala e Alecsandro
Técnico: Paulo César Gusmão

Fluminense
Fernando Henrique; Thiago (Beto), Marcão e Roger; Rogério, Ângelo (Romeu), Arouca, Juliano (Cláudio Pitbull), Petkovic e Marcelo; Tuta
Técnico: Josué Teixeira

Hmmm...
Only Edu Dracena, who has an Italian passport, Arouca and Marcelo are interesting players. Do not think Wagner is that good.
For about 7 mill any team can sign Edu, who is a very good CD.

I really wish to believe it but Milan isnt the type of team to take risks on players like these..I think the Milan directors were doing nothing more than watching a game while being in Brazil. I also dont know if we really need a LB, cuz we have Jankulovski, Favalli, Kaladze, Maldini, and Serginho! Poor Marek, seems like he will never get his chance if we eventually sign this Marcelo kid.

Brasiliero says he plays as a LB, but in the formation Nirvana posted, Marcelo is a striker no? Can someone clarify? and keep us updated!

Thanks for the words, hitmannq8 :)
I was very busy these months, but I am always reading the forum...
About your question regards Marcelo position, the confusions is that Fluminense( Marcelo team) play w/ 3 formations: 4-4-2 , 3-5-2 and 3-6-1. In this game they started at 3-6-1 and in the second half played 4-4-2...So, Marcelo starded playing as winger and finish as LB.
As I said , this is only a assumption, but Kaká father liveed in São Paulo, and this game was in another state(Minas Gerais)...Belo Horizonte(the game was there) is a great city, but it is not known by attracting foreign tourists. So, I really doubt that Milan directors were there for vacations. They could be in São Paulo for example, watching Corinthians(and Tevez) to play, but they had chosen Belo Horizonte...who knows???
While a agree that our Milan isn´t the type of team to take risks on young players, I still have a little of faith that this situation will change...I don´t have nothing against contract veterans, and don´t believe that to full the teams of youngsters will be the answers. IMO we need balance in our politics of transferences...just balance.

I get your point :)
As I said , Marcelo has all the tools to be the BEST in some years. In terms of talent, I don´t see anybody near of him in Lb position today. But Marcelo is just a 18 years old kid, w/ to much to learn...Is his first season as a starter of Fluminense first team, and he´s doing pretty well. CSKA try to purchase Marcelo(like they made w/ Daniel Carvalho, Wagner Love) some months ago, but the kid said that he would not go to play in Russia.
The problem of to play(not for the players) in Brazil NT, is that any scrub called, automatically it is contracted by some European teams...some teams are crazy!!

Marcelo seems like a perfect replacement for Serginho then. A player who can play left wing and left back. If we managed to get Pasquale too, then we'd be perfect at left-back for many many years.

Could it also have been that maybe there were other Milan people at the Corinthians match ? Although to be honest, we don't really need someone to scout Tevez as we pretty much know what he's capable of already.

Hopefully we can get Marcelo, sounds like a good investment.

Thanks for this news Brasileiro and Nirvana. Also thanks for the link with goals, it was fairly interesting to look at.

Can't say I know much of either of the players, but Marcelo is the one I've looked into a little. I'm not sure what to make of him yet, as I've never actually watched him play, but he seems to have potential. If we were to get him, I would expect he'd be our replacement for Serginho. However, before that I'd expect a season or two of him being loaned out before he is settled into our squad, as without European experience and at his age, it would be a lot to ask of him to fit straight into the squad.

I know some Milan officials (or people related to Milan) have gone to Brazil on "holiday". Included in the list is apparently Galliani, who we all know may not hold his position officially, but unofficially is probably still doing his job. Out of this, I am personally hoping for a little Argentine playing in Corinthians, whilst players who may have a potential future at Milan are always welcomed ;)

Things here in Brazil take a time to happen. In 1994, Roberto Carlos was the best LB here but he had no chance in WC 94.
I watched about 12 or 13 times Fluminense playing and Marcelo really shone in all of them. He is not only a physical specimen, like Carlos, but has very good skills and can score too.

Looking for some Marcelo video, I just found some notes that not only CSKA, but also Hamburgo and some Agents try purchase the kid. But, Marcelo said that wants to finish Brazilian Champ. to gain more experience, and make a case for Brazil NT. Thats was before Dunga called Marcelo...BTW Marcelo said that wants Italia or Spain.
As Nirvana FC said, Marcelo is a physical specimen( like Carlos) but has very good skills, dribble and can score too. In some games(that one where Marcelo made the head goal) former Fluminense coach put the kid also in Kaka role...
This kid is a mix of Carlos and Serginho(even more skilled than Serginho), and IMO working w/ Tassoti will only improve his defence.

Some guys here a mad at Milan directors, just hear the Marcelo to CSKA saga, and you guys will se how stupids are some(majority) brazilians "Cartolas"...
CSKA was trying to purchase Marcelo some months ago, but the kid said that don´t wants to move from fluminense this year(to gain experience, Seleção calls, and wants to go to Sapin or Italy), but the team manangers are deseperate to sell the kid.
Fluminense directors had also made a meeting with Marcelo, coercing the kid to accept the proposal, therefore Fluminese wages are delayed(players 20 days; normal employees 2 months), and they said to the kid, that if it did not accept the proposal, all in the club would be with mad of it.
It´s unbelievble!!!! This fact was divulged by O GLOBO(newspaper), and left the Fluminese suporters furious...with the spreading of this meeting to the press, Fluminense directors had asked for police reinforcement to the club...it´s unbelievble, coercing a 18 kid(that besides the age, is the big Fluminense idol today, together w/ Arouca) with arguments so cowards as these, it is a crime :1ang:

Now, the bad news...
Falcão(the King of Roma) said during the game, that it a guy spoked to it in the hotel, and said that was the assistent coach of Spaletti(sp?) in Roma(Falcão said, but I don´t remeber the name)...and guesses what??? Said that was there(in England) because Roma wants a LB, and they are much interested in Marcelo. :5horse:
As I said some time ago, this kid is special...I know that we have Serginho, Kaladze, Janku in the LB, but to let a team like Roma buy this kid will be a huge mistake...I just can´t see a talent at LB position like Marcelo today... this kid is a physical speciman, but blessed w/ amazing skills even for a foward or OMD...
BTW, Marcelo didn´t have amazing debut(the kid was a little shy), but it was very solid. But, puting in perspective, for a 18 years old debut in Brazil NT, it was great!! The pression of to play in Brazil NT is amazing...just look for Ronaldinho Gaucho

Haven't seen the kid play, but im pretty sure that Milan know about him. Just read the first reply on this topic. Milan directors were watching the Fluminese game and that game Marcelo got the man of the match. Even if they were blind they would have noticed him in that game because he was the most active player according to the match report.

So if Milan are not linked to him, that means we do not want him. Sorry to break all your hearts.

He really would have been a good replacement for Serginho as many have been saying.

Brasiliero, but Roma cannot buy him now because the window is closed, right? When does his contract expire? Is there a buy-out clause?

It makes sense for us (fans) to show an interest in Elano as Dunga keeps going on about how he will be the 'spirit' of the new Brazil team. If that's the case then it suggests that he'll feature heavily in Dunga's plans and who wouldn't want an important player for a national team? He seems perfectly capable of adding genuine quality to our midfield and improving our pool of central midfielders.

Same with Marcelo, he's on the rise so why wait to get him. How many people here have said they want Mancini, or that they wish we bought him first. Marcelo could easily be the same except a left-sided version, so why wait and let someone else get him first. Even if we loan him out to get first team experience in Italy or somewhere else in Europe, it'll be a good investment for us.

I'm not going to say we absolutely need these players, but it just makes sense to be looking at an important piece in the Brazil national team and an up & coming talent. Why wouldn't/shouldn't we be interested?

We will sign Kaka, say Real Friday 8 September, 2006

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Real Madrid have told Milan fans to expect a Kaka exit in the near future. “He will come sooner or later,” said director general Predrag Mijatovic.

The Brazilian starlet was named as a proposed summer arrival by President Ramon Calderon before his election in June, but Kaka remained in Italy after extending is contract until 2010.

However, Mijatovic is now ready to bet on the fact that the 24-year-old midfielder will one day play with the Merengues.

“Kaka represented one of the promises made to our supporters by Calderon, who knows it would be important to have such a high-quality player on our team,” he told the AS newspaper.

“During the summer we had several conversations with Kaka and his agent and I honestly believed that we could reach an agreement.

“The player expressed his wish to come here and the complicated situation caused by the match-fixing scandal made me think that Kaka would finally land in Madrid,” he continued.

“In the end, Milan did not allow him to leave and he preferred not to put any pressure on his club, which he is very fond of.

“But we are sure that he will come sooner or later,” added the former Fiorentina striker.

Mijatovic’s latest Kaka related statement is almost certain to infuriate Milan who declared war on the Spaniards this summer over their attempts to net the South American.

Milan block Kaka exit Friday 8 September, 2006

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Milan have again warned Real Madrid to forget about signing Kaka. “If they want to strengthen, they must look elsewhere,” said chief Adriano Galliani.

The latter made the statement after reading the comments of Real director general Predrag Mijatovic, who insisted the 24-year-old would one day join the Merengues.

“I do not intend to cause any controversy, but we do not allow such behaviour,” stated Galliani. “We are not a branch of another club.

“I met President Ramon Calderon and we spoke to each other,” added the Rossoneri official. “Milan are a great club with a great President and our recent history outweighs Real Madrid’s.

“We are not in a state of psychological subjection, if the Spanish club needs new players then this is not the right place to come.”

The former Lega Calcio chief has also insisted that Kaka has never asked to leave Italy, a reason why the South American extended his contract until 2010 in the summer.

“Let’s take Chelsea as an example,” continued Galliani. “They chased Andriy Shevchenko for three years and we always said no.

“A negotiation started with the Premiership club only when the player expressed his desire to leave, but this is not the case with Kaka.”

Real Madrid, however, consider Kaka the only true alternative to the retired Zinedine Zidane and have not yet ruled out the idea of seeing him at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Yes, he will be in madrid when Milan decide that we no longer need him.....that will be in 10 years time, ask them to wait.

As long as he has a contract with Milan you have nothing to worry about. Its only up to Milan to release him Even if he hands in a transfer request, Milan can still force him to stay here. Now apparently Calderon made an illegal approach to him somewhere during the world cup. I dont see this as any real different to the Chelsea Cole saga, so i guess fifa/uefa could fine madrid if they wish to take the matter further.

marcovb, I see Marcelo like Alves when played for my tam(Bahia)before going to Spain. The kid has the potential to be a very good defender, and just need to work on this area. BTW, Marcelo just completed 18 this year, and is showing a maturity beyond its age. Even Dunga praised the kid after his debut in Brazil NT, saying that it shows a great tactical obedience(when played for Brazil), therefore it had that to change his stile(a little) for to play in Brazil...So, I don´t see problems for him to adapt in Europe.

It´s normal to have some doubts...we are talking about a 18 yo player that wednesday play as winger, and sunday as LB :)
But, this 18yo will be the best LB in the world(as I said some months ago). Some press people around the world are comparing Marcelo to R. Carlos, but the only things that makes sense are the physical atributes(Marcelos is more tall: 1,74m), and shot. But in terms of talent, skills, QI, drible, vision isn´t even funny...only a injure, new bad habits or Capello can ruin this kid :)

The truth is that the more I watch Marcelo play, more I believe in my affirmation that this kid will be the best at LB for years!!!
Last week I saw Oswaldo de Oliveira(brazilian coach that trained kaka in Sao Paulo, and this year, put Marcelo as starter in Fluminense w/ just 17yo) saying in a TV show, that he has the same feeling in Marcelo, that it saw watching Kaka developing. The coach said that after Kaká, only Marcelo gave him the impression of a star in the making...and knowing the personality of this boy, expect Marcelo to find a role in Milan team in the first year.

Cicinho...this guy for me is a mystery. Cicinho is amazing going foward, but I nor need to say as it is for defending. Some people say that Cicinho could be a great playing in Mancine(Roma) role . But, everytime that I saw this guy playing as winger in R. Madrid, it performed lower than the expect...the thing that bothers me(and Brazil NT coach Dunga, as it showed in the last Brazil games)is the lacks of concetration in the game. The guy has all the tools to be a good defender, but is always out of position...
IMO Cicinho could be a great RB, but his team needs to create a special scheme for him...even for brazilians standards of RB defence, Cicinho is below average :rollani:
My rank of brazilians RB:
1º Daniel Alves

2º Cafu, Cicinho, Maicon, Rafinha, Eduardo Ratinho(Corinthians)
3º Denis(Santos)

4º Beletti

Baldini is going shopping in Brazil for the January window it seems. Apparently he has his eye on Lenílson and Ilsinho of Sao Paulo, Edmílson of Paraná??, Lucas of Grêmio and everyone's favourite Marcelo of Fluminense.

What with Gago also on the table for Barca & Real, it seems we may be picking from their leftovers.

You can be assured that if either of these two clubs sounds out some young talents, they won't then decide against it and come back empty handed like we did.

It doesn't matter if there isn't a place for them here at this very moment, we can always loan them out. The main thing is to secure players like this as quickly as possible, something we don't seem to be able to do at times.

However, there's a bit on Calciomercato about how Juve & Inter are monitoring Lucas, although they believe that Atletico Madrid will be his destination as the Spanish club has been tracking him for 3 years or so now (apparently).

But it says that Gremio want 8 million euros and 1% of his next sell on fee for Lucas. Doesn't that sound quite cheap? Maybe our members from Brazil can update us on the Lucas affair and comment on his recent peformances for club & country.

Oliveira was is Spain long enough, so his EU. The EU rule is 1 non EU from ABROAD per season and not per year. So we can still buy 1. Lucas from Gremio has Italian roots so he would be an EU. "The agent of Fluminense wing-back Marcelo has revealed the teenager is on his way to Real Madrid.
Reinaldo Pitta declared yesterday: "The conditions are complete because the transfer will be made officially tomorrow. Only minor details are now lacking."

Real will pay £4.3 million to Fluminense for the Brazil international. There was talk of Marcelo joining Real in January, though it's believed the deal will be confirmed for the end of this season."

Jim, 8 millions for Lucas is a shame(for the Grêmio)...and 6,5 milllions for Marcelo...man, what I can say...Even if Milan will not have interest to bring the kid right now, only for the investment point view, is a win-win business!!
Back to Lucas, Jim...this kid is special. Lucas is one of this "makes of everything" midfields. Lucas play in G. Silva role(DM) in Grêmio, but has much more quality, and can play also in anothers roles in the MID. I agree completely with you Brasiliero about the financial/investment side of things for these two players. Jim, some reliable sites here said that Fluminese ask 6.5 millions(6 for the club, and half for the kid) for Marcelo. Fluminese are desesperate for money!! Gremio is in a better financial situation, and gave A. Madrid Lucas for just 8 millions...but A. Madrid did not pay the first parcel, and Gremio said that is open to negociate w/ another team, but will ask for more( the famous Seleção valuation). Fluminense also said that the preference letter that they had given to R. Madrid is not more valid...and in Brazil(an Spain) some reliable pappers are saying the Monchi(Sevilla manager and head scout) is moving mountains to contract Marcelo, because it needs the approval of the Sevilla board, for the release of the money. Even w/ Sevilla having 3 LB, they are saying that Monchi believe that Marcelo will be the new Daniel Alves(in LB) for Sevilla...
Regarding Lucas: 1,79m and 74 kg...the guy is a litlle skkiny, but is very strong(and physical) in defence, very accurate in pass, and w/ a very good shot from distance. In the begining of Brazilian championship, the guy was being booking to much because he was being very aggressive. But Lucas find a balance, and is being less booked since...The tipical "all the field" mid.

Milan search for new Kaka

Milan general manager Ariedo Brieda will travel to South America in the hope of unearthing another young starlet. The Rossoneri already have Brazilians Kaka, Ricardo Oliveira, Dida, Cafu and Serginho on their books and club chief Adriano Galliani confirmed they were looking for more.

"Ariedo will go to South America for around 15 to 20 days," said Galliani.

"He has already made some great finds, like he did with Kaka. Appropriate talents are to be economically affordable.

"Signings like Ronaldinho are possible when the player is still at Gremio or Paris-Saint Germain.

"But when he is at a club like Barcelona, you can't get him unless you pay 60 or 70 million euros [£40-46 million]"

Gremio midfielder Lucas Pezzini is reportedly on Milan's radar, with Inter and Juventus also interested.

The 19-year-old has an EU passport courtesy of his Italian origins, and had been compared with holding players such as Emerson and Dunga.

Lucas(MD) and Marcelo(LB)have game to be in Milan. This Evaldo guy(CB), I really don´t know. Fabão(CB) is a physical specimen, but isn´t Milan material.
The good news in Marcelo case is that the kid had a drop in form. Fluminese team is a mess, and Marcelo that was one of the 3 bright spots of the team(Arouca and Thiago Silva are the others) is playing bad right now. So, teams that are public after him(like Lyon and R. Madrid) are offering less money, as you can see in this news(in portuguese):

Agree...when big teams are in trouble, the "being linked" starts.
zlatanov, I believe(hope) that unlike teams like Real Madrid(Baldini is trying to fix this), our team has a very good scout net, and several reports about players. I said this because when we brought Kaká, the guy was in bad form in São Paulo team(to be fair, 1 year later Kaká was MVP of Brasileirão), and this did not hinder the negotiation.
I understand your point, but I really doubt that teams famous for to find young pearls like Lyon or Sevilla will be deceived by some bad games. Marcelo is shining since South American U-17, U-17 WC, in 3/4 of Brasileirão, and was very good also in Brazil NT. So, they are taking advantage of Marcelo bad form, to pay less(or not). It´s also public and well-known that Fluminese is deseperate for money(poor team)...
BTW, Braida still did not see Marcelo to play. Braida will be in the next Fluminense game...
Leonardo also played in Marcelo position and is very close to Dunga and Jorginho(asistant coach of Brazil), so Leo may has some insiders about Marcelo...who knows????

In the meantime, Milan transfer guru Ariedo Braida will travel to Brazil and Argentina this week as he searches for possible transfer targets, according to Vice-President Adriano Galliani.

“Ariedo will stay in South America for 15 or 20 days,” said Galliani. “He has already eyed some interesting players, just like he did in the past with Kaka.

“Signing talents like Ronaldinho is possible when they are still at Gremio or PSG, but if they move to larger clubs like Barcelona, you can't sign them for less than £40m.”

Milan have reportedly targeted Lucas Pezzini Leiva and Evaldo Silva Santos, both currently contracted with Gremio.

The 19-year-old Pezzini, who also has an Italian passport, is set to leave the Brazilian club in January and has also been eyed by Atletico Madrid, whereas Evaldo could move at the end of the season.

Lucas has more pace, ability, better pass, and can create more than Emerson...

To tell you the truth I was really happy when I read that, but come to think of it, we may actually end up with nothing. Remember how Galliani and Braida went to Brazil/Arg during the summer transfer window? They went to find a striker? They tried to get Sobis but they failed and came back to Milan with nothing? They also went to Real Madrid to get Ronaldo and came back with nothing. This trip does not necessarily mean we will sign 5 players in Jan, infact we will most likely end up with no one (if our transfer policy remains the same).

Im really hoping for Marcelo, not so much for Lucas. I also would like someone to be a substitute for Kaka. And another world class midfielder to substitute between Pirlo/Gourcuff/Seedorf and prolly someone to replace Gattuso (maybe even permanently). But still, midfield isnt our priority, this would only be the final touches.

IMO, the most important is a striker that will not need time to fit in the team and start getting goals immediately, and prolly a CB. A RB also. Damn, I know I've said we need like 7 players but to tell you the truth, we really do need that many players. We cant compete with Chelsea, Barca, Real and teams like that with subs in the likes of Ambrosini, Brocchi, Kaladze, Simic, Boriello, Costacurta, and Bonera.

I know its extremely unrealistic, but also wrong to just change 7 players in one window, but I'd like it if they slowly start doing it. They have already made a mistake in not starting a year ago buying younger players to replace Serginho, Cafu, Maldini, Costacurta etc. Maybe this Jan we can get a striker, and a RB, that is where we urgently need help. Then maybe if we have time to negotiate for an attacking midfielder to rest Kaka or to replace Kaka if he gets injured, or maybe even a CB.

We are goin to be linked to aloooooot of names in the next 2 weeks cuz of Braida's presence in South America. I will try not to believe everything even though I really will wish part of it will be true.

Just went to calciomercato and it says that after Braida viewed the Santos-Sao Paolo game (scouting Fabao), he took off from Brazil and is now in Argentina to scout more young talents, 2 players in particular: Fernando Gago (Boca) and Hugain (River).

Wat do you guys think he made of his Brazil trip? My bet is nothing, seeing as there are no rumours linking him with any negotiations with any club thus far.

If he comes back with Higuain and Gago I would be thrilled. But latest realistic news are that Emerson wants Milan transfer, and im sure Milan has him in their minds as well as those young Brasilians. But I do hope we will find some great RB,as Cafu is over! Cassano, Higuani, Gago, and Oddo :) ( Its just a joke but sounds nice )

I don't believe this. since Sobis went to Betis I think it is prudent to say that Oliveira was our first choice in this case. We would have got Sobis instead if we wanted.

Marcelo I fear will probably go to Real though. I have this distinct feeling he will be a massive player and that whoever gets him will be "lucky".

Kris,
I remember an quote of Oswaldo de Oliveira(former coach of Kaká in São Paulo, and Marcelo in Fluminense), where the coach said that when he saw Marcelo to play for the first time(he was the coach that put Marcelo as a starter this season w/ only 17yo) had the same sensation of when he saw the young Kaká to play for the first time...that it was ahead of a differentiated player.

BTW, seems that the Sevilla goes to be the destination of Marcelo(in portuguese):
http://globoesporte.globo.com/ESP/Noticia/0,,AA1341954-4284,00.html
The article is in portuguese, but said that only Real Madrid, CSKA and Juve made real bids for the player...and the unbelievble thing is that Fluminense is only asking for 5 millions...

What do some of you have to say about Carlos Alberto. I have only seen him play in 3 games, and he does display great skill all the time. He is only 21, is an attacking midfielder and I didn't know this....but he played for Porto under Mourinho in the year they won the CL. He actually scored a goal against Monaco in the final. I think he is a very skillfull player that has a bright future, however seems to have some problems with his attitude.

http://www.marca.com/edicion/marca/futbol/1a_division/real_madrid/es/desarrollo/707129.html

This is pretty reliable source for Madrid related stuff! However i had read earlier that Macri is good friends with Laporta, may be that is why Macri is denying Madrid the chance of signing Higuain and instead he may go to Barca.

We can probably forget about Higuain, which is a shame. I stated earlier that he was looking for a move to France, which turns out to be what his father wants him to do because of his French origins.

However, Higuain's agent is that b*stard Pini Zhavi, or whatever his name is, the leech of football, the biggest super agent in the world. He was the one who helped take Tevez & Mascherano to West Ham in that mysterious transfer and he also has (i think) half the rights to Higuain. This is why Zhavi is trying to get Higuain to go to the Premiership and Chelsea in particular because of his relations with Abramovich. Man Utd are a distant second.

I'd be surprised if Higuain went anywhere else other than England because of that t*sser Zhavi. Even if he did come here, Higuain would constantly be linked with Chelsea because of Zhavi's ties to Abramovich. Just like we are always linked to Ronaldinho because of Oliveira's agent.

I'd like to see him here, but i can't see it happening.

Bad news about Marcelo!!!

From:http://www.tribalfootball.com/article.php?id=17631

Real Madrid clinch £4M deal for Fluminense starlet Marcelo
tribalfooball.com - November 09, 2006

Real Madrid are confident they have a deal for Fluminense wing-back Marcelo.

Despite a rival offer from Sevilla of £4 million upfront and interest from Inter and AC Milan, Fluminense have accepted Real's staggered bid of £2 million immediately and another £2 million at a later date.

A Real source told AS: "The key is the boy wants to come to Madrid. Nobody can break his will. There are better offers , but the boy has his heart set on Madrid."

The deal was struck between Real and Flu yesterday after 72 hours of intense negotiations.

It's expected that Real will soon announce Marcelo's signing and then seek to loan him to another European club for the second-half of the season as the teenager does not carry a European passport.

They said this a couple of weeks ago aswell. Maybe this time they have it right. For some reason the boy is deluded and thinks Madrid is a good move, the poor kid!

There's also reports we could lose out to them for Higuain. For once i just wish we'd get 3 or 4 of these 'talents' ahead of all the other teams.

hitmannq8
09-11-2006, 14:05
yeah, even Inter beat us this summer when we tried to sign Ibra or Crespo. Same with Sobis who preferred Betis. Same with Ronaldo who preferred Inter. We need to start attracting players with good financial offers. It will be something really sad if we lose out on Marcelo, afterall Cicinho was all set for Milan but then a day later he signed for Real right from under our noses.

Jim_UK
09-11-2006, 14:14
I think you're wrong about Sobis hitman. We had him in the bag, he wanted to join us more than anyone else, he'd spents ages on the internet looking up facts about Milan. However, we decided not to finalise the deal for some reason and Betis came in and now he's in Spain.

Maybe there was an agreement that we'd let them have Sobis in turn for getting Oliveira? For whatever reason he was ours and then we let him go, more than likely because of Oliveira's agent. That seems to be one of the main reasons we got the striker from Betis.

hitmannq8
09-11-2006, 14:19
Yeah, i think that is the main reason we got Oliveira, cuz frankly speaking, I dont think he is a striker that Milan would have signed for 10m. According to Galliani, he now has started to lose faith in even getting Ronaldinho. If this is just some mind games he's playin with the Barca management, i applaud him, but if they really end up failing that means alot. It means we we were willing to sacrifice a whole season with Oliveira and pay 10m+ vogel to get him, just to have a stronger chance of getting Ronaldinho.

Jim_UK
09-11-2006, 14:28
the more you look at it, the more ridiculous it seems. 17 million euros plus Vogel for a player who missed 8 months of football with a serious knee injury? Betis must have been shaking their heads in disbelief. He's not worth that much that is for sure, which begs the question why we went through with it. There must have been other strikers of similar quality available for that price.

I'll look forward to reading it tomorrow morning Brasiliero :D

Higuain has been called up by Domenech for France's friendly against Greece next Wednesday. It will be interesting to see if he plays. Off topic, Karim Benzema has also been called up. I think this kid could be a great striker, he shows alot of potential right now.

Gago seems to have followed Marcelo's suit and said that he'd like to play for Madrid. At this point they could quite easily end up with Marcelo, Gago & Higuain. That would make me so mad, i can't begin to describe it

I also found this on sky sports about Flamengo speaking about Ronaldo going to their club.

"Ronaldo has never made any secret of his desire to return to his homeland - and Flamengo in particular - to finish his career, and the Brazilian outfit are hoping to take advantage of his current malaise to try and broker a deal.

"It's nothing new to say that Ronaldo wants to end his career at Flamengo, but I can't say that he is going to be here for the 2007 Copa Libertadores," stated Flamengo supremo Marcio Braga.

"What I can say is that we will try to bring him to our team."

Flamengo will use their close relationship with sports investment company MSI to try and finance any deal, admitting the club alone do not have the resources to pull off such a coup.

"We don't even have $100,000 in the club accounts," Braga continued.

"I don't know if MSI are going to be our financial partners in the negotiations, but I expect to have a meeting with their officials in order that we might have Ronaldo in our team at some time."

----------------------

If this is true then why have ideas above your station? Why risk putting your club into more debt by striking up some deal with the loan sharks of football MSI? No wonder football is in such a financial crisis. These clubs have hardly any money but are prepared to sell themselves to the devil (msi) and be in potential debt for goodness knows how many years. MSI are the embodiment of everything wrong with football these days. They make me sick.

Our clubs officials are not going for them is because these players do ot want to join us. Its not the problem of our management if the players they are interested in, are not interested in Milan. Just for a example, Mijatovic send Baldini to South America some months ago to start negotiations w/ Fluminense. Some time later, they did a proposal(less than expected) and Fluminense denied. So, when(in Spain) this week, la cadeña Ser said that Monchi(Sevilla) had a agreement w/ Fluminense for Marcelo, R. Madrid ofered more money, and the kid chose the BIG club. As brazilian I don´t want to see our gem in Cappello hands, but I understand the player chosing a top-5 club in the world. Milan never did a bid for Marcelo(or Lucas), they where here just "scouting" and every reliable source here in Brazil confirm that.
Right now we have a DM gem here(Lucas) that can give our side power, pace, strenght, skills, and is in a race for the MVP of Brasileirão, and I can´t read in any reliable source in the press that we are real serious after him...
As you said, it´s sad...

Yes they are ignorant because these are the only clubs that come to their mind. I know they will have a future if they come to milan (esp. Gago) and I also know that joining the above mentioned clubs will do no good to them. I can´t talk for the argies youngsters. But, you just show that you are wrong about brazilians. Here, the players don´t rate high to play in EPL, and every time they are asked about destination, 99% wants to play in Italy or Spain. Some time ago another example was Alex(PSV). When asked about Chelsea(co-owner of his rights), Alex said that if it was to leave PSV, it wants to go to Milan. But as always, right now Mijatovic is trying a agreement with Chelsea and PSV for Alex, as the guy is the first choice of Capello to pair with cannavarro:

Our clubs officials are not going for them is because these players do ot want to join us. Its not the problem of our management if the players they are interested in, are not interested in Milan. I wouldn't even want Ronaldino in our team if he is not completely dedicated to us. Not every player has a Leonardo sitting on their head to convince them to join Milan.
Brazilians players not interest in join Milan??? This is a joke, right??? As I said above, I can´t talk about Argie youngsters, but Milan is a dream for every brazilian player...and you´re wrong about Leonardo and kaká situation. As kaká said, when he played w/ Leo(leonardo was not even a Milan director), it heard all the stories about how professional and class are the club with players. In that time, Leonardo was a player(not a director), and the job of Leo in Kaká purchase wasn´t to convince Kaká, but to negociate w/ São paulo directors(as Leo has a good relatioship), and convince them to sell Kaká for us...

EDIT: I am calling this bunch of SA youngsters as ignorants. Don't generalize with all the players who have existed in SA.
This is your post:
Like any of these South American ignorants were going to come to Milan. Do they even know that there is a club called AC Milan which is better than RM or Barca. This is crap. We shouldn't even send Braida/anyone to that melting pot for any reason. We should only get Italians and other Europeans. We can even go to asia, at least the players over there know that AC Milan exist and is bursting with ambition.

Amazing DM, complete, can create and defend. Lucas is our(brazilian) answer to Gago. The argie appers to be a better passer(Lucas is very good also, but Gago appears to be better), but Lucas has more pace, quikness and strength.

Marcelo never said that Real Madri was his choice, never!! I chalenge you to show me quote of Marcelo saying that wants to be Real Madrid player(before the agreement). The person that said that was Tomás Roncero, half journalist, half RM suporter, that was the same guy that said that Kaká wants to be in real Madrid, and that the it was only matter of time to Kaká arrives in Madird...now, the "article" where Roncero talks for Marcelo, after the agreement, of course: "El chico sólo quiere venir al Madrid y no creemos que nadie pueda quebrantar su voluntad. Puede que hubiera ofertas mejores, pero Marcelo quiere crecer como futbolista en el Madrid". Always the same quote for every player...

I really haven't heard one single player from Brazil come out and say that he is desperate to come to Italy but a lot of them have spoken about Spain. About Alex, I guess we didn't go for him as we did not need him. I can't see Alex being happy with us by staying on the bench for at least half of the games with Kaladze and Nesta taking the first team place. Now, as Nesta isn't quite sure of remaining with us our directors will look for options and I am sure Alex will be one of them.

The Gremio vice-president confirms that Juve made an offer for Leiva, but as it happens lately, whenever Juve or Milan are after some player............. Inter also made a bid for Lucas Leiva ( Atletico Madrid being the 3rd team that made an offer for the player)

Maybe is my english(I recongnized)...But, I backfired my own proposition???
1- Kaká said that when palyed w/ Leo, it always heard storys about how class and professional are our Club. Just it...nothing more. If you talk w/ players like Evaristo de Macêdo, Rivaldo, they will talk wonderfull things about Barça. If you talk w/ Emerson, the guy will to say wonderfull things about Juve...
But if you think that every kid born in Brazil is a Milan, RM, Barça, Juve supporter, you´re deadly wrong. Besides brazilians loves Europe(as continent), we(fans and players) born being supporters of teams like Bahia, Flamengo S. Paulo, Vasco, Palmeiras...man, Europa isn´t the center of the World :p231: I´m a Bahia suporter, and only started to be a Milan fan(in Europe), when Serie A was showed for the first time in Brazil(1988).
2- Just for a example:
Ronaldo is a Flamengo suporter; Alex is a Flamengo suporter; Kaká is a S. Paulo suporter; R. Carlos is Santos supporter; R. Gaúcho is a Grêmio supporter; Riquelme is a Boca supporter; Aimar is a R. Plate supporter; Maradona is a Boca supporter; Marcelo is a Fluminense supporter.
I hope that you understand that if a player go to the press and say that wants to leave his club, and declare love for a foreign club. First, this will be a lie, and second: one day later, the fasn will punch him when it went to work out. Will call him mercenary and if he has luck, will escape with litlle bruises.
3- back to Kaká: When Leonardo came to Kaká, and asked if it wants to join Milan, Kaká said yes, no doubt!! It wasn´t because kaká was a Milan supporter, but cuz Milan is known in Brazil as not only a great club. But as the right place for brazilians to play in Europe(you don´t hear the same thing about Inter here. Inter here is had as a place better to argie players). When Kaká came to Milan, it was only a São Paulo fan...and now, after they way that our club treated it, Kaká don´t hides that it has two clubs in the heart(S. Paulo and Milan).

By "these" I referred to this group of young players. Don't jump into conclusions. I cannot even imagine of generalizing when we have a dedicated Kaka in our team.
How come to not jump at conclusion whith thats words? It wasn´t only me that had this conclusions...

Imagine what could happen if Marcelo go to press, and said that wants to be a R. Madrid player...

BTW , I made a serch in Globo.com(very reliable, and always ahead of facts) about Marcelo transference saga:
1- http://globoesporte.globo.com/ESP/Noticia/0,,AA1344851-4284,00.html
Assim, o Real Madrid vence um "leilão" pelo lateral da seleção brasileira com outros clubes europeus. Nesta semana, além do time espanhol, Roma (Itália) e Sevilla (Espanha) fizeram propostas oficiais ao Fluminense.
So, the only teams to made real bids this past week had been: Sevilla, RM, Roma and CSKA in the past.

2- here you can see also that Juve made a BID , and that Marcelo almost was a Sevilla player:
http://globoesporte.globo.com/ESP/Noticia/0,,AA1341954-4284,00.html
Nos últimos dois meses, alguns clubes se interessaram (dentre eles, o Roma), outros oficializaram proposta (CSKA Moscou, Real Madrid e Juventus), mas nada foi concluído. E o jogador vem caindo de produção em campo

3-Here one of the few times that the kid talk to the press about a possible trasference and said the obvious: "I do not want to hear about proposals"
http://globoesporte.globo.com/ESP/Noticia/0,,AA1340302-4284,00.html
De jeito nenhum, não quero nem tomar conhecimento de propostas. Não tenho como me avaliar. Quem está de fora vê o que quer e fala o que quer. Todo jogador passa por um momento ruim, depois isso passa - diz.

rahul, I tried hard, but didn´t find an single quote of Marcelo saying that wants to be a R. Madrid player...and also a quote about our team making real proposals for players...

Palacio is kool. too much comp for higuain. 1 question brasileiro: What do you think of Kerlon? (Inter are tracking him)
Right now, my friend, Kerlon is a prosopect. But a amazing prospect...
Just to put in perspective, in South America U-17 championship. Anderson, now in Porto was amazing, but even thus, Kerlon outplayed Anderson and was the MVP of the championship. If I had to attribute a rating for both in that championship, I would give a 10 for Anderson, and 11 to Kerlon!!! And if you remeber that some time later, Anderson was chosen the MVP of U-17 World Cup(Kerlon didn´t played because of a broken ankle), you can have a perspective of Kerlon talent.

The problem for Kerlon was that while Anderson was playing for Grêmio first team, and gain professional experience. Kerlon was 1 year out for a broken ankle. Right now Kerlon is a sub in Cruzeiro first team, mostly because the starter(Wagner), besides to be great talen(and has more experience), is playing a amazing Brasileirão.

On the kid game, he has it all. Pace, amazing skills and dribles, great vision, great in set pieces. Kerlon also has a Deco body. His best position is Kaká role in Milan(OMD).

IMO Kerlon is more than worth the gamble, but right now, the kid is only a prospect(amazing), because his development was delayed with that ankle injure...So don´t expect a so fast adaptation to the Europe like Anderson.

I am aware of the reaction of the fans esp. during derbies where some of them have been killed due to intense violence. The intensity of the fans is quited same europe too.

When Calderon got elected and started the Kaka operation even Kaka admitted he felt great because of grabbing attention of a top club. That sign is good enough for me to know that Kaka wouldn't mind going to RM. Did you hear any Milan fans getting angry over Kaka's comments? The same thing happened when Ronaldinho came across Milan rumours, even he blushed because of them. Did any Barca fans start a revolution against him?

May be we didn't place a bid on Marcelo because of a particular reason. May be we don't need a full back at the moment because youngsters who want first team experience don't like to be benched. May be we have enough full backs to satisfy our needs for at least 2 years.

Janku/Favalli/Serginho/Maldini---x---x---Bonera/Cafu/Simic (sometimes)

But the players have to show a sign where the club officials can feel that he commit to Milan wholeheartedly. Again as I said earlier Marcelo wasn't forced to join RM. It was his choice and such choices cannot be made overnight just by watching one or two RM games.

I am more then impressed with this guy. So much control and technique on the ball. The most impressive thing.....his movement off the ball. Amazing for a 20 year old player.
Let's wait and see what happens in January. Hopefully one of all these mentioned players is signed. There seems to be a river of great young prospects like never before. Let me get this straight first. Braida wasn't just sent to Brazil to suddenly buy some talented youngster. Leonardo is our scout there to begin with. most players are players we have kept track on for a long time. Lets not stop there, any name you seen mentioned are not someone Braida said he even is after, he is there to look and to negotiate, he is the one that negotiate deals. Unless Berlusconi does that himself.

There is a new bunch of youngsters every year, most of us can't tell if someone will bomb or succed.

Also, anyone going to Real Madrid should be ready to sit on the bench, thats their choice of course.

Which makes me think.....why is Braida in South America if we can't sign a non-EU player. The only player that we can sign is Higuain. Unless we are shopping for the summer?
Or....can we sign a non-EU after December 31st?
I really don't get it.

13-11-2006, 13:45
by refusing the call up for the French NT, I think Higuain basically forgoes his EU citizenship and chooses to be an Argentinian ...
As for Gago, I think he has an Italian passport but don't quote me on that one :nervous:
I guess we can also open up more non-EU spots by selling some of our current non-EU players - at the end of the season, there is a good chance that one or all of Dida, Cafu, or Sergio will leave.

13-11-2006, 14:13
Zlat, I don't think the problem is in EU-space available, but the ability to buy one because we are only allowed to buy one per season/year from outside of Italy. I don't think however there is a restriction to how many we actually have in the squad.
Correct me if I am wrong, but I think we can sell ALL our non-EU players and it wont make a diference, because we still will be allowed to buy only ONE per year.

My previous post was a bit ambiguous - what I meant by "non-EU spots" is that, at least from what I know, the rule is that a team can ADD to its current non-EU players only one more every season.
This, at least how I understand the rule, means that if we don't sell any non-EU players, we can buy one more. However, if we do sell some of our current non-EU players - say Dida and cafu leave us - this means that we can get 3 more non-EU players - 2 (in place of Dida and Cafu) + 1 to make it 3 altogether.
This still doesn't limit the # of non-EU players a team in Italy can have in general, it does however set certain limitations on how the number of non-EU players changes in time.
At least, that's how I understood the rule from what I read on uefa.com

rahul.acm

Well Higuain already holds a french passport (his father is a naturalized francophone so he doesn't have to play for france to get an EU citizenship. We can buy him without any EU restrictions.

We have to sell one non-EU player to buy another. (I think so)

13-11-2006, 15:22
Yea Zlat...you might be right. I never knew that.
If it is like you say, then it's not so bad. In any case however, I don't want Milan buying too many non-EU players as I think there is loads of talent in Italy as well. I do think however that we shouldn't pass on a chance to sign Kerlon or Gago.

that's what I thought too but I guess there are certain "rules" as far as this goes. The reason why Higuain took so long to make up his mind was namely because of this "French" passport and how having it would have made him more "appealing' to European clubs in the future.
From what it said on gazzetta and other sources, he had to choose to play for the French NT in order to get/keep his EU passport. By choosing to play for Argentina, he basically refused a EU citizenship.
Not sure why that's the case, my guess is that French citizens are not allowed to have dual citizenship, which probably isn't the case with Italy since so many Argentinian and Brazilian player in Serie A have dual citizenship.

Hey brazileiro what is your opinion about someone called Arouca?
rosoneri_11...amazing talent!! One more pearl of Fluminense youths. Arouca is a 20yo MD, more of a DMD...Arouca reminds me a young Seedorf. But they aren´t the same type of player(confuse, no?). Arouca would not have the same effectiveness of Seedor in a OMD role, as the proper Seedorf would not have in the DM role like Arouca. I hope to have clarified :D
Arouca is the type of player that some call here(in Brazil) "motorzinho", it´s like "little engine". He can´t play alone as the first DM(like Gilberto Silva), Arouca is what we call "segundo volante", a player that is a DM, but with freedom to attack. Summarizing, it is the type of player who makes the team MID to function...

Arouca appears before than Marcelo, and had a amazing season in Fluminense, but this year, it had 2 injures(not saying that is injure prone) in a row, and it can´t enter in rhythm. IMO, Milan material for sure. BTW, several people here in Brazil don´t understand why dunga still did not call to Brazil NT(Before the second injure this year), and call normal players like Dudu Cearense, Jônatas(now in Espanhol)...

What worries me is that of the players that we are linked here in Brazil, only Lucas and Marcelo are Milan material. The others like Fabão
But, Marcelo is right now in Madrid to agree terms of contract...and of Lucas I can´t hear(or read) more anything about our interest...

A player that is coming of injure(and would go to solve our offensive problems) and is right now being disputed for clubs here in Brazil, that can´t compete w/ Milan(in therms of money), is Nilmar. The guy is right now without a contract w/ Corinthians, and Lyon. After Robinho, I can´t see another second foward(talking about brazilinas) so talented as Nilmar...and the guy can play as CF(unlike Robinho) besides his body...

Back to your question, of the guys playing in Brazil, IMO only Nilmar, Arouca and Lucas could be brought, and to contribute right now. For sure, exist more players, but they are more of a projects, like:
Kerlon(OMD) of Cruzeiro.
Thiago(FW) of São Paulo.
Edurado Ratinho(RB) of Corinthians...and others that I don´t remember right now :D

We have to sell one non-EU player to buy another. (I think so)

I am not sure about Gago having an EU passport. I heard that he is eligible for Italian citizenship because of his dad.
Just to say that Lucas Leiva has (or is working in get ) Italian citizenship...

rosoneri_11...amazing talent!!

Thanks a lot brazileiro!I saw the stats of Arouca at football manager 2007,and this guy is amazing, he is young with very good stats, and he can do everything you want at midfield(attack,defence,crossing,technical,physical......)!

I would keep his name in to my mind very seriusly, and i will try to find more informations from him!He is very interesting! For me i think he is better than Gago!

I just saw Gago playing 4 times, and I although I have been impressed by some of it´s assits(and pass quality), IMO Arouca is a better player...

From brazilian talents here and 4-5 years i was facinated buy Robinho and Diego(when they were younger). And now they come true as fantastic players playing right now for big clubs!Great players!Yes, 2 great players(IMO Robinho is better). The explosion of Diego(in Werder), it´s easy to explain. For the first time, since that it was for the Europe, Diego is being used in a position where it is accustomed, the ODM role. In Portugal, for 2 coaches(Vitor fernadez e CoAdriansen, Sp?) the guy was used in a 3 man midfield(like in Holland), where the player needs to defend...and Diego was completely lost.
I´m just worried for Robinho. The guy is played as a winger in RM...what a waste. Capello just needed to watch Robinho in Brazil NT, and to see how good is Robinho playing as a second striker.

So from now i will keep in mind Arouca!

Regarding your questionand(and of Zlatanov), Ilsinho is a RB of São Paulo, that is showing some great attacking skills. But the guy only won the starting job at some weeks ago. I really saw this guy playing 3 or 4 times, and as I said, Ilsinho showed some impressive drible skills for a RB.

But it needs to improve a lot in defence. I was to say that Ilsinho is like Cicinho(in defence), but I´m not so used to his game. What I know is that Murici(Coach of S. Paulo) is working a lot w/ the guy to become a good defender. I read this news in the press, and the coach don´t hide this flaw of Ilsinho game.

I remeber that Villareal almost purchased Ilsinho this year. What I know(more for the press) is that Ilsinho is very good in Attack, but need to work in defence. But I remeber several highlight of Ilsinho w/ amazinng dribles in São paulo mames. But that was only highlights. New Cicinho??? Maybe, but I want to watch more this player. At least the guy is showing potential...

Given his lack of experience and that he has just recently made it into first team of SP, I guess he would be one for the future - at least 1-2 years from now - and not an immediate replacement for Cafu.

Both of those players don't have EU-passports.

If I am not mistaken, (somebody please re-check this), but according to footballbase.com the following players in our squad are non-EU.

Dida; Kalac; Kaladze; Simic; Kaka; Serginho; Oliveira.

The whole rule is stupid as only the countries in the European Union are not affected by this rule, and even though countries like Croatia and Ukraine ARE in Europe, their players are concidered non-EU.
Kalac on the other hand should have a EU-passport because of his family. I think they are from Croatia.

I also read on a Real Madrid forum (went on one after the whole Gago,Marcelo,Higuain hype) that Gago will have an Italian passport because of his grandparents somwhere around April. No idea how accurate this is.

you can buy one non-eu per season from abroad, we can buy 20 non-eu from other Italian teams.

In England they do instead have the problem with work permit, basically any non-eu they bring will have to play in the national team (including u-21).

-------------------------------------------------------------
Rossoneri_11,
Trust me, Ilsinho is worst than Marcelo in defence. But yes, he can develope in this area...and his coach(I saw on TV) is demanding a better attitude on defence. Murici is a hard nose coach, and is working w/ Ilsinho.

I saw Marcelo as a young Daniel Alves. Even the little nasty style. Marcelo in Brazil youths, received several cards(yellow and reds) because the kid was always giving hard tackles, and some times losing "the point" :D ...but the good news(for brazilians) is that the kid found a balance.

I saw Branco, Leonardo, R. Carlos, Serginho, Junior, Adriano, Maxwel and playing, but in terms of talent, and never saw a LB as Marcelo. [/B] For sure, a injure, or some wrong choices can ruin its career. But every one in Fluminense praise the kid for to be humble and professional...and his teammates loves the kid. Even Dunga, that is hard to praise players(individually), said wonderfull things about Marcelo attitude, and for being such a great kid.

I really hope that if Milan will go to make purchases in Brazil(right now), the choice isn´t Ilsinho. The guy has talent, but is more a project than guys like Lucas, Arouca or Nilmar. Lucas and Arouca would give more talent, power and pace for our midfield. Our mid is always outplayed by others. The only form that we aren´t out played is w/ Gattuso and Brochi/ Ambrosine pair. But with both, we lost so much quality. Lucas or Arouca wuld give us more power, pace, quikness and quality...but maybe I´m wrong, and Ilsinho isn´t a project as I think...whop knows??

nefremo

Brasileiro, you might be right that all those players are more established then this guy Ilsinho, but we badly need a RB more then anything else. That right side is too dull and there is nothing there. Whenever Cafu is in there (and it doesn't happen that oftern anymore) we do have some crosses available, but Cafu can't beat players anymore because his speed isn't there.

It would be perfect for us to get Gago(even thought it seems impossible) and in that way we can play him in Pirlo's role and push Pirlo i Seedorf's spot. That will push up Pirlo further up the field (ex:just like he did in Italy) and we will have a good DM who can pass great and take care of the ball, Gago.
Adding a RB to this (Ilsinho, even though I know nothing about him but this is where desperation hits I guess), would mean great additions in January.

Again however, we are left dissapointed after all the hype and promisses.

wohoho! nice move...aldough it doesnt mean anything....
Still, there is one doubt of Braida's trip to South America. If he went there to try to sign Gago, Higuain or even Marcelo....whos positions are: DM, AMF, LB, why did we "end up"( still not finished) with a right back...?? I mean, Braida had a certain task in there, certain tactical or positional preferences that Milan needs. He didnt just went there to buy 2 or 3 players, but to buy the players he is aming too. If he was aming to buy Gago or Marcelo, it cant be possible that he instead of a DM decided to buy RB. That would be to unprofessional from Milan. So, maybe, we had an eye on this man (who might turn out to be good), made him an italian passport and signed him just as we wanted to. Yes,we do have another problems, not just RB spot, but RWB is also badly needed by Milan. If we went there with idea to sign new midfielder, we wouldnt buy a defender. Let those three end up in Madrid. We only need to buy smart, and we will be ok. But we do need to BUY. ( means- spend some money )

Calderon reveals £600M Real Madrid TV deal
tribalfooball.com - November 15, 2006

Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon has revealed the club has sold it's television rights for a massive £600 million.
Without naming the company involved, Calderon declared: "It's the most important contract in the history of world-wide sport."

The mega deal will run over six years and the Real supremo assured more details will be made public in the coming days.

First they sign all the players, then they sign a 600m TV deal. Is it possible that this number is right??? If it is, I think that Real is really going to become a force again.

By the way, does anyone know what our numbers are with the sponsors and the TV deals, and if yes, can you please compare them to other leading teams. It would be interesting to see how we compare on the market with other teams.

I think Juve, just before they got relegated, struck a deal with Mediaset, or was it sky, for around 80 mil euros/year. Milan got a similar amount too, if I remember correctly.
This Real M deal is indeed massive - that's about 150 mil euros/year for the next 6 years - but I doubt this would make them a better team, would mostly increase their popularity and status of a travelling circus, IMO.
The reason I say this is that they have been having A LOT of money at their disposal for quite some time now and money has never been an issue for Real at all. The problem is that they didn't know how to use/spend that money properly and that's something that can't be fixed with big TV deals.
All in all, a contract like this would ensure the financially secure future of Real M and will make sure that they stay one of the big players on the transfer market. Whether they will become a better team, however, depends on how they spend that money and not on the amount of cash they have.

joumasepoes

Well I think Real Madrid are moving in the right direction. Mijatovic has really made a massive difference. By January the teamwould be perfectly balanced between youth and experienced. They have quickly moved for Marcelo, and I have no doubt that they would secure at least 1 of Higuain and Gago. As for the massive amount of money theyre getting, thats at least a garuantee of 1 star player a season, so maybe we should start sweating about a Kaka transfer.

some relatively good news about one of our supposed targets...

Higuain's Real move in doubt

River Plate have turned down an offer of 10 million euros (AUS$16.7million) from Real Madrid for teenage striker Gonzalo Higuain, labelling the amount 'insufficient'.

The 18-year-old was reported to be on the verge of signing a seven-year contract with the Spanish giants after impressing in the Apertura tournament this season.

However, River Plate board director Hector Grinberg told 26noticias.com.ar: "We did not talk with Real Madrid, but 10 million is not sufficient for us."

The River board is believed to have rejected the offer because they knew Real were prepared to pay 20 million euros (AUS$33.3million) to fierce rivals Boca Juniors for Fernando Gago.

Higuain, who was born in France, claimed he was eager to grab the 'incredible' opportunity to play for Real while he could.

"They like me now, but maybe not in June," he said.

This week, newspaper As conducted an interview with Higuain at the player's house, where they took a photo of him in a Real Madrid t-shirt.

"I do not know if we are bothered, although it would have been better to take a photo with negotiations finalised," Grinberg added.

"It was done to convince the player to sign."

Higuain's father Jorge, meanwhile, said: "Nobody took a photo. It was a trick with the face of Gonzalo and the body of (Ruud) van Nistelrooy."

Photographer Pepe Andres however insisted the photo was authentic.

there was also a report indicatin' that Milan offered 14 million for him... but can't seem to find it again...

http://www.marca.com/edicion/marca/futbol/1a_division/real_madrid/es/desarrollo/710823.html

---------------------------------------
It says that we have entered the bidding for Higuain. River's prez is angry with Higuain as he wore a Real Madrid jersey before the deal was off. Whatever happens he will not be sold in January. River's prez is also angry with Higuain's father/agent who is pushing for the deal to be done in January. According to other news reports we have made a bid of 14 mn Euros. This is from MARCA.COM so it has to be true. If we are able to convince Higuain that his future lies in Milan then nothing can stop him from joining us.

Is he over rated?

I don't know what the big hype over Higuain is about. The guy emerged on the scene 1 month ago and has played regular starting 11 football for only months, not even a year. I know that he might turn out to be good in the future but I am starting to think that our menagement is taking the right step in this one. They were interested in him, they tried. First he costs too much for a player that seems to be too hyped up by River themselves just to bust up his value, and then he only wants to go to Madrid. Fine then let him go. He is not a superstar and he is not some great that has been at the scene in S.America for a while. The guy just came on the surface.

Thats not much money for years, looks what other rich club do,like madrid, man utd, chelsea, even the team poorer then us like inter. They buy much expensive players. We aren't poor we are as rich as madrid !!!!!

They have no debt anymore, Perez eliminated it.

It is easy for us to say here, it is not OUR money.

My friends, be the first to know the new pearl in Brazil!!
Alexandre Rodrigues da Silva(or Alexandre Pato): Support striker of Internacional.
Born: 02/09/1989
1,79m
71 kg

As I have little time, forgive me for the few details.
- One month(or more) ago, all the press in Brazil was curious about this kid, because Internacional coach(Abel Braga), put him in the list to play the WC of Clubs in december, and nobody know about this player. Last sunday, the boy played his first professional game against Palmeiras...and...It was unbelievble :dazed:
1 goal, 2 ast and some amazing plays. The kid shows no weakness in his game. Great skills, dribles, pass, good aerial game and seems to have a great character.

-It was to be only a great debut of a 17yo kid in brazilian league, but after the game, Abel Braga(coach) and some Internacional managers had explained of where it came a talent like this. They said that this kid was training with the professional team has some time. But the kid was without a professional contract(it agreed terms of a contract until 2009 friday), and they were with fear of to show Alexandre in Brasileirão. With all reason, therefore until Arsene Wenger, send a person to talk w/ the kid some time ago. What shows how competent is Arsene in find talents around the world, because even for us(brazilians), Alexandre Pato was a stranger.

- They(coach, managers and teammates) are so high in Alexandre, that everytime that coach went to make a mini-game or an COLETIVO(as we call here the starters against the bench players), the guy took off the press of the facilities, just to prevent the hype. Because, as I said, Alexandre was without a contract(his new clause contractual jump of 4 mil to 20 mil of dollars), and the club was afraid of any person pay the 2 millions and buy the boy. Until his teammates had been forbidden to talk about the guy in the press, after some of them talk wonderful things about the player, only increasing the hype.

Of course, It´s his first game as professional(but just because the contract thing), and I´m just puting some news for you guys. But, the performance of the boy is causing a havoc in Brazil :) and IMO is more than worth to keep an eye on this kid....the WC of Clubs in Japan can be a good possibility to see the boy in action, because it will be a starter. Maybe we can see him against Barcelona defence in the final of the tournament.
Some goals of Alexandre in Brazilian under20 Championship. His team Internacional was the champions, and it was the star with 7 goals.

They eliminated it by selling that training facility.

Barcelona on the other hand is in deep debt, about the only reason I could see for Ronaldinho to come here.

Ah I do remember hearing briefly about Real selling the training facility. I didn't take much notice of it at the time.

I personally am not too interested in Ronaldinho at this point, though he has skill and marketing appeal, I don't think he's a player that we need right now.

On the other hand, this kid at Porto, Anderson, is looking more of an interesting prospect to me. He's still very young (18), but seems he has pace, skill (compared to Ronaldinho a fair amount) and plays in a pretty direct way it seems. I'd be interested in him as potentially he is a brilliant foil for Gila. I do wonder about his strength on the ball though, but at 18 he's probably not even physically mature yet, meaning strength should come as he gets older.

Personally, I think Milan scouts should be keeping close tabs on him. Brasileiro, any thoughts on the boy?

Agree, Anderson is a future WC player.
When Anderson was at Grêmio, it was used t Kaká role or as second foward. But in Porto, the boy is showing some versality. I was impressed when I saw Anderson playing(and good) in a 3 man mid at Porto de CoAdriansen. The typical Dutch 3 man midfield is hard for brazilians OMD, because you need some strenght, and play defence to be good. Remember that Diego had problems in this role in Portugal, and right now is in a amazing form in Werder(but playing in taditional OMD role).

Just some time ago, I read that Anderson started as LB in Grêmio. Maybe this explain how fast the guy adapt itself in the 3 man midifield...and also, although it not to be so tall, Anderson is(and play) VERY strong.

IMO, Anderson can´t be seen as a promise, but as a reality. As they said in Portugal, Andershow already was the main player of the Porto(It´s a shame that the Benfica guy broke his leg :wth: ), and more important(IMO), has a great character, and is well liked by his teammates.

Gago's move to Real looks an almost certainty now, whilst Inter are linked with Lucas. We seem to have given up on all these players right now.

Real Madrid agree personal terms with Gago
tribalfooball.com - November 30, 2006

Real Madrid have struck personal terms with the agent of Boca Juniors midfielder Fernando Gago.

Gago's agent, Marcelo Lombilla, agreed terms with Real Madrid sports chief Pedja Mijatovic over lunch yesterday in Madrid. The deal is until 2012.

Meanwhile, Boca president Mauricio Macri maintains he wants Gago to play in their Copa Libertardores campaign.

“My desire is that Gago plays the next Copa Libertardores and I hope to see that happen, because it is very disappointing to have to lose a player who we created and watched grow in the club. It is impossible that Madrid can unveil Gago on Sunday or announce his signing because no agreement exists between the clubs."

BYE BYE GAGO.

So Braida's trips to South America in the summer, and the one last month was absolutely useless?

Milan cant use the reason that "all south amerians want to go to Real or Barca", that is our fault. We need to be more ambitious, we need to spend more money instead of going for players that are for free (we're goin for another free agent, Belletti, instead of buying Oddo,Alves,Reveilliere etc)

Another rumour to comfort the Rossoneri faithful. Let's face it, Milan will NEVER sign any player during the winter transfer. Even if they did, he'd be someone in the class of Favalli or Simic. I mean they could have easily made a bid for Oddo but now they are going for someone like Belletti who is a non-EU player. Milan have used up all of the available non-EU slots. Pato is too young and not yet a proven striker. I just get frustrated whenever i read this transfer rumours concerning Milan because they're never going to happen. Look what happened to Zambrotta, Oddo, Buffon, Suazo and etc. Milan were linked with these players before the start of the season. Imagine if they were actually in the team.
