AC Milan made shock approach for Inter ace Adriano
tribalfooball.com - August 23, 2006
AC Milan has made a shock approach to Inter for striker Adriano.
Il Giornale says Milan turned to Adriano after seeing a move for Internacional de Porto Alegre striker Rafael Sobis fall over last week.
Adriano counts on Kaka, Dida and Cafu as good friends and Milan directors were confident he wouldn't have a negative impact on the dressing room.
But Milan chief Ariedo Braida's enquiry was met by a flat rejection from Inter patron Massimo Moratti, which saw them turn to Real Madrid striker Ronaldo over the weekend.

Barcelona isn't going to sell Eto'o. Why do so many of you waste your time bringing up his name?
Tevez I will agree with. Torres has not convinced me. He's still very rough. Unpolished. I would much rather have Adriano than Torres.
umm I'll take Torres before Adriano for the same price. I hate one legged strikers.. God gave you two feet.. use both.

Well, Adriano scored 26 goals in 34 games for Inter last year. Ten in the Champions League (so he can hardly be accused of not scoring when it counts). Torres had 13 goals in 35 games. So I figure Adriano's right foot is more valuable at this point than both of Torres' combined. :diablo:

I am not sure those figures for Adriano are correct - last year Sheva became the CL goalscorer with 9 goals, I believe, so no way Adriano could have scored 10 ... maybe the year before last?

Oops. You're right. He only scored six last year. It was 10 the season before. Still not a bad goalscoring record in the CL though. Sixteen in 19 games.
Well I guess he isn't too bad.. can't argue with facts now can you :p

Adriano is maybe the best open option we got, Tevez is great but not proved in Calcio, Adriano may not be the best but he is proven that he is among the best,
Let us see the stats of Adriano in SERIA A.
2002 Fiorentina 15 app. 6 goals
2003 Parma 28 app. 15 goals
2004 Inter 23 app. 19 goals/ 9 goals with Parma before coming to Inter
2005 Inter 34 app. 26 goals
2006 Inter 27 app. 19 goals
Lets not forget that he is still 25 years old.And he played for crapy teams as fiorentina at the time was terrible, they were relegated that season, Dont forget that we have the brazilin mentality and not th argentinian as Inter has. So I`m sure that we the help of Kaka, cafu and Dida he will improve a lot, if he comes at milan.

According to both ESPN Soccernet and the official Inter Milan website, Adriano had six goals in 10 matches last year and 10 goals in nine matches the year before. Apparently futbal.org is the one who is wrong.

http://soccernet.espn.go.com/players/stats?id=43022&cc=5901I know what your doing now your including Qualifying rounds, he does not score in big games. Anyway its 16goals in 25games overall in europe

Huh? Even your way he's still scoring goals in games that matter. It's just less goals in less games. Besides, in qualifying you have to win to advance. That makes it a pretty damned big game. To say someone who has scored 16 goals in 19 Champions League games, regardless of which stage, is patently absurd! Think!
And no, it's not 16 goals in 25 games. It's 16 goals in 19 games. That's what both sources have. And even if it were 25 games -- which it's not -- it would still be pretty good.
Well, Inter do have too many strikers, and I'm sure there's gonna be some ego-clashings going on. Adriano might be the one where Inter let go.

Don't like him very much, but it's certainly a muuuuuuuuuuuch better option than Ridiculous Ronnie.

I do rate him as a very good player but i would prefer Torres imho.

.............GS...Sub...Goals
2004-05....9.....0.....10
2005-06...10.....1.....6
There it is. Although I did forget to add the game where Adriano came on as a sub (which makes it 16 goals in 20 games), when I was in school 9+10+1 did not equal 25. Maybe you're using the new math.
To use Homer Simpson's style... kids, kids, you're both right :D (Not that you're really kids)
So I figure Adriano's right foot is more valuable at this point than both of Torres' combined. :diablo:
I don't think I've ever seen Adriano use his right foot. That's my biggest problem with him. He prefers to take a hard left-footed shot when the ball is perfectly placed for a right-footed shot. He does have a killer left foot though.
When Adriano is on form, he's one of my favorite strikers! An absolute monster that I'd love to have in our colors. However, Tribal Football isn't the most reliable source but we can always dream! :)
Adriano, that's a joke. Why get Adriano when you can get the real thing (Ronaldo) :p017:
Why the obsession with numbers? Are you telling me that a striker who scores 20 league goals is better than one who scores 18? It is the characteristic of the player that counts. Adriano is too one-dimensional. When his one dimension (i.e. left foot) fails him, then that's it---he doesnt and simply cannot contribute much to the team. I honestly dont think he would be that great, especially playing as our withdrawn striker. I would prefer Ronaldo over him anyday, at least Ronie got other things (aside from burgers and chicks) up his sleeve. :)

I just can't see Inter selling Adriano to their biggest rivals. Adriano is too good of a player to give us and I think Inter knows that.

Same, very good point, but Inter also has a lot of strikers, and they are forgetting Adriano, plus I don't want him....
yes adriano is a dream move, but it looks very unlikely.
why dont we go for julio cruz or recoba? or konan?miccoli?
well if we can bring ronaldo to his oldself then i wouldnt mind him but if we can't then i say adriano
How do you propose we find that out then ? It's not like we can buy him then give him back to Real if it's not working out after a month or so and then go get Adriano. You buy Ronaldo and then wether you can turn him into his old self or not you're stuck with him.
Inter won't sell Adriano to us and he's not the type of forward we need anyway.

Adriano unhappy at Inter Monday 28 August, 2006. source www.channel4.com
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Adriano’s Inter future has been thrown into doubt once again after he reacted badly when substituted in Saturday’s Super Cup Final.
Coach Roberto Mancini introduced Hernan Crespo 60 minutes into the game for Adriano, whose performance had been poor.
The Brazilian striker left the pitch shaking his head, kicking some bottles of water and punching the bench on his way out.
“I was mad at myself,” l’Imperatore reasoned, although it now seems clear that the rift between the player and the Nerazzurri is as serious as ever.
Mancini himself also tried to justify Adriano’s reaction: “Sometimes a player gets mad at himself, it’s a normal reaction when you are substituted in an important match.”
Adriano’s replacement was made all the more bitter when Crespo went on to score five minutes into his second debut for the outfit, contributing to Inter’s incredible victory over Roma.
The future of the Brazilian international will now be decided in the next few days, as the summer transfer window is due to close on August 31.
Inter owner Massimo Moratti is still keen on bringing former star Ronaldo back to San Siro, after Real Madrid’s negotiation with city rivals Milan failed.
Reports in Spain suggested last week the Nerazzurri could propose a swap deal involving Adriano, but Real chief Ramon Calderon has apparently asked for an additional £7m.
I know that inter wont sell him easily to Milan. But since we can buy seedorf,Pirlo n simic from then there is nothing impossible. Maybe he want to come over to get away from inter Argentinian team and come over where we have kaka, cafu, dida n serginho or even leonardo. I wont mind having him here n i always think he can be great again if he come over.. 30m Milan get from Sheva sales can be cash for for this young player.Any other opinion?

I'm MUCH rather have Adriano here than Ronaldo. No question, hands down.
As someone posted earlier, it's not going to happen as Inter won't sell to us.
It does make sense for the 3 way swap, Adriano to RM, Ronaldo to Milan, cash to Inter. They've bought a lot of players and spent a lot of dough. More importantly though, they want more than anything else to keep Milan down, so they may block it just to prevent Milan from getting a forward.

Well, thats the same with the difference that Inter would give us Ronaldo instead of Adriano. Would they help us get Ronnie? I dont think so.
If they want the money, they can sell Adriano to ManU or Real Madrid or some other team. They know that Milan would have a hard time getting Ronaldo on their own...
I think Inter have learnt their lesson. If they decide to sell Adriano, you can be pretty sure that it will not be to us. ANd given their new found "relationship" with Juventus, he may very well end up there--if not, then probably to Spain or England.
