Hello dear AC Milan fans! A very simple question. Who do u think is the best spot kick taker in last 10-20 years???? (apart form Deigo Maradona) :bri:
I think Babriel Batistuta and Roy Makaay have perfect spot kick takers but the best of them all is I think Alan Shearer. The power with which he kicked the ball was amazing, it was almost impossible to stop his kick;). What do u guys say??

I agree, I dont remember seeing him missing a penalty, Pirlo before Istambul was amazing, but....

I voted for Zidane but would put both Shearer and Zidane up there at the top ... as well as a whole bunch of German Internationals from the past 20 years or so ;)

Shearer definitely, i haven't seen him missed a penalty also and he shoots them so powerfull noone could catch that, his penalties simply are a joy to watch

I think Del Piero should be an option too - he is easily one of the best I have seen from the PK. For every 2-3 years at Juve, thanks to Moggi ;), he must be taking more PKs than both Shearer and Zidane took for their entire careers, yet I have seen DP miss only 1-2 of all those PKs ... and his PKs are something quite special too, virtually impossible for the GKs to save.

Oddo has to get a mension somewhere, he is a pretty good penalty taker and has a good record.. 14/15 taken recently!

In recent times Kaka has been doing well too.

Matt Le Tissier is probably the best i've seen, he was incredibly accurate from 30 yards so 12 yards was easy for him

Zidane and Shearer didnt miss many either and Cantona had a perfect record for years at Utd but then missed a few :(

A collection of Le Tissier genius:

EDIT the penalties are at the end, it says he scored 49 fom 50

Shearer definately has an almost unstoppable kick.
Wesley Sneijder can do it very wel too, but Huntelaar takes the penalty kicks at the moment.
Don't know why though because he already missed 2 this season.

V Basten scored 24 penalties out of 26 in serie A, even better than Maradona, even though IMO El Pibe de Oro reached the highest level of technique in penalties ever reached. Baggio and Del Piero deserve a mention.

Hard to say because basically penalties take good nerves, a good leg, precise one and a bit of luck, Totti has that and that was manifested beautifully in that magnificent Holland game in 2000 :)

Zidane has always been an elegant player also, he showed that in the final among other things :guw:

Alan Shearer was a player who made a you feel as if it was nothing.

Ronaldinho power and precision is unbelievable along with his concentration

Pirlo is focused and well places the ball

So many have excelled penalties and you can't just pick only one, but a bunch of them

im gonna say van nistelrooy .. although i hate him .. he seems to put it in the net time after time .... its his style them typical goal mouth scrambles and poaching the whole lot of it ...

Two of the best penalties i've seen recently have been El Hadj Diouf's for Bolton (though i'm not sure of the opponent, might have been Fulham) and Ballack's for Chelsea.

Kaka must have a record of about 7 out of 7 taken for milan so fingers crossed he keeps that up but by far Ballack is the best penalty taker in football today ive never seen him miss one he even scored one at the world cup standing on one foot

one of the worst ive seen must be van nistelrooy ive seen him miss around 4 for man u 3 for holland and he has already missed one for madrid sorry dr milano you got that totally wrong Sheva is also not the best

other brill takers are
Oddo (though missed one in his last match)
Totti
Chilavert
Del Piero (though seen him miss around 5)
Podolski

Van Nistlerooy is hard to judge Milan Mad. For a long period he was exceptional at penalty taking for Man Utd, he just couldn't miss. Especially in his first few seasons there.

I'm sure Steza can give us some facts about it.

Nobody is, was & will be better than the King Deigo. Not even MVB, Cryuff, Baggio, Zidane & Pele. Understand it once and for all ;)

yeah i left Ruud out of my list because after his near perfect record of the first few seasons he had a spell where he just couldnt score them, i think he missed 4 in a row, including the famous last minute miss in 'the battle of old Trafford' as the press dubbed it where that ape Martin Keown jumped on Ruud after he missed

I think Jaaskelienen saved another and he missed one in the charity shield too, after that run i didnt have the same belief in him as i had whenever Shearer took one for England.

yeah he was an English player but he never really got recognition internationally because he didnt play for england much. That was for 2 reasons, first because despite being a genius with the ball he was overweight and lazy at times and second because he never played for a major team. He was incredibly loyal to Southampton and stayed with them despite knowing they would be fighting relegation nearly every year. He rejected offers from every major English team and even Milan allegedly ;)

I knew his penalty record was good but it was only when i saw that youtube video that i realised he got 49 out of 50, which is probably the best record of any player. I cant think of anyone near that, even Maradona

U are still comparing Baggio with the unmatchable :p283: which shows that u are a BIG Baggio fan who can't c any thing else in football but baggio. U should b a ralistic fan like me ;)
I hate to say it but when ever the term 'penelty' is taken with Italian team, the first thing comes to mind is the classic Baggio miss in that final :haha: :zany: :guw:
(no disrespect to Baggio, he is one of my favorite players ;))

U will come to know abt the Franky maggic tonight when he will completely out class that gutless Ronaldinho :5milan: . And on the other hand Liverpool & ur Legendary Steve-G would continue their habbit of embaracing their fans as they would lose once again an away match :neww:.

But u have to be a Realistic fan to underdstand the Franky Maggic :bri: not an imaginary fan who still believes that Roberto Baggio should make a come back to Italian natonal team ;)

Ofcourse I said it But :bri: that time when I was new here and I was missing my friends of Red&Black forums  . I wanted to to go back their that time but it seems that the owner of that forum (THAT OLD FUNK) was jaelous of my popularity there ;) . He taught I would stole his forum thats why he banned me permanently without any solid reason. But life goes on, now I am here at MM, a proud member :3band: .

Buy the way u really are gathering information abt my past :bri: Dont u have any other work??? :bri: or u r simply fade up of watch Liverpool losing again and again away from home :googly: :stupid:

Alessandro Del Piero should be on there. Not just for his technique but also his conversion rate. I remember in Euro2000 the commentator saying that Del Piero has never missed one.

I think he missed one in the 2002/03 season against Deportivo and a Serie A team. Since then he has missed a couple more but his conversion rate is brilliant apart from those mistakes.

Maradona, Baggio (notwithstanding the miss in 1994) etc. are all great penalty takers but Del Piero is up there as well.

Your English is fine. You should at least learn to speak Diego's name correctly. After all, you have no prblems spelling 'coward.'

Insulting me now are you? That's twice you've done that recently.

No where in Steza's post did he suggest that he thought Le Tissier was a better player than Maradona. How on earth did you ever arrive at that conclusion?

You have a go at Dan (zZ[-_-]Zz) and say he's an Imaginary Fan (whatever that means) for liking Baggio but you do exactly the same with that fast food junkie drug taking cheating coward, sorry ... Maradona!

Also recently, didn't you have a go at someone for posting twice in a row and look what you've just done! You're such a hypocrite!

Finally, you mention about how i know about your red&black forum days. Well if you remember you put up a link to those forums when you made a post about JDT recently. So, interested in your detailed posts on JDT i checked it out, but i couldn't find them. All i found was a thread titled 'Do you want to give mzk57 a chance ???'. So you kind of brought this on yourself by inviting us to search those forums for your JDT posts.

Aye, he may speak 6 languages but there is a least 1 of them that he doesnt really understand :D

Or maybe its that the rest of us arent MAN enough to understand his twisted logic and misplaced insults

well... why do you say i can't see anythin' else in football but Baggio? i can see that Lampard is a pathetic player... remember his games against Barca? maybe you don't because he was totally invisible the last 2 times...

of course when the term penalty (this is the correct spellin' btw) is associated with Italy... Baggio comes to mind... afterall it is easier to blame the sole reason Italy got to the finals than Baresi & Massaro who missed too... i guess you don't even remember about that...

and since when am i a Gerrard fan? i dislike him almost as much as i do of Lampard...

and again... when did i state i believe Baggio would make a come back? don't put words into my word... i can sue you for slander... tho of course i can't be bothered...

on another note... i am glad you are banned from R&B forum... even tho i wasn't around to witness it... but accordin' to what you displayed here... i can understand the decision to dump you out for good...

lastly... i should have just ignored you... you make discussions with no logic reasonings... and when you cannot come up with some other jibba-jabba... you say stuff like "it's as simple as that"... is your discussions capabilities that limited?

anyway... from now onwards anythin' you say would be ignored... i've wasted enough time on you... and to go on doin' so would only prove worthless...

*discussion terminated* anythin' further would be ignored... thanks for participatin'... your time was appreciated but not valued...
