Great goal by Gila!

2 more in 15 minutes. Can we make it?!?

NAMMY

Well, this clearly all very disappointing - embarrassing I would say. As I sit here watching the match on Bravo UK, typing on my mates laptop, I wonder whether Sheva was such a big part of the team, or perhaps it is the players, or the ref. Nonetheless, Milan just haven't been playing as well as they can this season, evident with the stray passes and lack of decisiveness is the last third. I wasn't too confident of playing in the xmas tree formation, or having Seedorf next to Kaka, and these fears have come true. Anyway, Forza Milan - Inter had to win sometime.

arcy

A couple of months ago
- We were in danger of dropping to Serie B
- In danger of being out of champs league and the financial and player impact which ravaged Juve
- We lost an influencial leader in Sheva
- In danger of losing Kaka

When we take all this into perspective ... it's not turned out that bad. We are still in Champs league.

But if the score remains, then a whole bunch of people have some serious thinking to do.

now it is time to start thinking when went wrong. :(

The motivation is not a problem in this game, everyone is playing with the full heart. If we could play well in the second half, we should have been able to play well in the full game. What would have happened if Ancelotti played the 11 in the second half? It will only remain as 'IF', but it is a pity that we let Merda slip.

This game makes me so proud. Farina kinds of ruined the game at least a little, his wrong decision sends a poised game to Inter's advantage (the freekick), and in the second half he sent off Merdarazzi for unknown reason.

I am also proud of Gilardino. he shows that he can deliver. He didn't win us the game today, but he won our hearts. I hope that his criticizers will become more patient and let him shine.

Overally, we were a bit unlucky not to win this game. we again showed inability in the dead ball situation. Nesta seemed out of shape, and Kaladze is solid. Kaka has an average game, but no one can write him off easily.

I wish that milan players were a bit more composed and a bit more precise in finishing, we could have scored 5 or 6 or even 7 goals.

This is the best game of this season for Milan, in my opinion. I am sorry that we let Inter run away with 14 points ahead of us. So what? We lost to Juventus 14 points when there were only 12 or 13 games left last season, and we still could come back.

IMPOSSIBLE IS NOTHING, AND WE JUST NEED TO BE OURSELVES. KEEP MAKING ME PROUD, MILAN! :proud:

Yes, amazing match... To be honest I feel we deserved a point after that second half.. we created so many matches... Inter had 5-6 dangerous attacks in this game, and scored 4 goals - not very often we see our defence play this kind of football...
But like many of you guys says, although we lost, I sit here with a good feeling that we did do EVERYTHING to come back, and played a spectacular match... a good with two different halves really...

Regarding the championship race, realistic 14 points will almost be impossible to catch, so I think objective now must be second place, and 110% focus in the Champions League.

I guess I mean those who just want to criticize, yet critics is a neutral word for me. :)

I don't think motivation was a problem when at the beginning of the game, after all, it was a derby and it happened after what happened yesterday.

I think Ancelotti should have made a 2-attacker formation, but again, anything could go either way, and it is always easy for me to say he did it wrong after the match.

and you are right, we need consistency. and let's hope we can do it. it is better late than never!

I am very PROUD of milan. win or lose.
I join all those who share the above thoughts. Quite surprisingly, I don't feel angry or even a little bit down as result of this loss.
Oh, it was a heartstopper ... just wish we didn't let so many "easy" goals due to elemetary lapses of concentration at the back but still the players made us proud in the second half with their grit and determination - Liverpool-style from that day in Istanbul ;).
Hope this game, and the overthrown appeal to CONI, serve as a boost in morale and confidence for the team and they show their real selves for the rest of the campionato and CL.
Gila got his goal, and another disallowed, and played real well. Oliveira had some great moments as well and hopefully showed us what is about to come our way. Seedorf was good too, IMO, and spurred the team into action.
Of course there are negatives too but for some reason I don't care about those things after a game like this one, even if we lost.

Forza Milan !!!!!!!

P.S. Congrats to Inter but the war has just started - 14 sound a lot only at a first glance, there are more than enough games left to make these up. How? Just sit back and watch us ;)

I almost turned my TV off after the 0-3 down, it seems like the nightmare in Istanbul happened again, those "black-out" stupid mistakes. But we never gave up, hell no, we're AC MILAN for god sake! Instead we fought fiercely until the very end. That's what makes me worship this club. FORZA MILAN

Great game for the neutral!

I've heard that the defending for some of the goals we let in was very poor, so if you defend badly you don't really deserve to win, even if you play with great determination in the 2nd half.

It's a strange result, Inter will feel like they have one hand on the scudetto and feel a bit smug that they've put us so far behind. But we will feel angry at losing in this manner and draw great courage/determination from the second half to fight on.

So although 14 points is huge, i don't think we're out of it, though we should just do the old thing of taking each game as it comes and see if we start closing the gap.

The first half was a shocking performance, where I felt nothing but embarassment. Pippo marked Crespo? Stankovic who was obviously a key man was given more space than any player in that position should be given and the third goal was where Nesta was left against 3!!!!!!!!! I cannot believe the horrible play from the team, we looked crap quite frankly.

The second half after their goal, I'd seen a different Milan. Seedorf drive was lucky, but we got a goal. GILA scored! Expect the boy to start gaining form. NO ONE, and I mean NO ONE can doubt his performance today. Kaka's goal was simply brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You want to know what? Tonight we went 14 points behind Inter, but I sure as hell won't give into this season. WE CAN WIN. Forget CL places, forget giving Inter or anyone a close run, I believe not only can we rescue ourselves, I believe more than ever that we CAN WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Goals can be scored, this team can take great pride tonight. Whatever happened in the first half, we showed who we are in the second. We are a good team, we are a GREAT team, and I will challenge anyone who says otherwise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We lost the battle tonight, but this war is not lost until we're dead and out for good. A wounded animal is at it's most dangerous when stuck in the corner with no where to go. We're in that corner, and now it's time to fight our way out!!!!!

THIS SEASON IS NOT OVER! WE ARE MILAN! WE DO NOT GIVE UP....EVER!!!

FORZA MILAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Grande Inter, Grande Milan simply put

Milan dominated after that forth goal from Matrix, playing with -1 defender caused us problems to our already problematic defense, you deserved the 2 goals, but Cesar is so stupid with his punch that gave the ball to a classy Kaka'.

Great match, that's a derby.

I gotta say that I am content with the attempted come back. It was a beautiful game. In spite of losing I am really happy. What gave me more satisfaction was by the way Inter players were celebrating in the end, it shows who the hell we really are. The best part was when Viera and Mihajlovic locked horns after the game. It shows the atmosphere of their sh!tty team. I was very happy for seedorf because he scored the most important Milan goal and Gila too for scoring.

Words simply can't describe Kaka. He is in a league where no player in the world can match him. There are no words to describe his resilience at the most extreme level and at a young age. A true humble champion. I cannot even imagine Milan without him.

The most important thing to note was the effect Maldini had in the second half. His presence cannot be discounted. He should be there with us at least till he end of next season.

Sometimes I really find it difficult to find what so amazing in Inter that they have fans. Really they are a team full of clowns like Materazzi and Ibrahimovic.

Forza Milan!!!! :5guitar:

First half was bad and maybe the problem was we attacked with 1 striker Anceloti should'nt do that .. About this half i really don't want to add anything else . In second half great game showed by Milan , i don't know what Carlo sad to players in those 15 minutes but he rellay motivated them . Gila scored , i'm glad for him , all players in second half played well . Best game of the season and i thank Milan for that for that and i was glad when i loged in and saw people doing same thing . Im proud of Milan and I supported them every minute through the game. Well done Milan for putting a spirited come back and we will always be with you.

When Gila came on, he was DISGUSTING!!!! I HATE HIM SO MUCH HES SO BAD!!!!!

ok just kidding, Gila had a great 2nd half :) he really really impressed me and played well.. he held the ball perfect and released it perfectly..and wat a great header by him..well done gila, NOW PLEASE be more consistent..

please stop blaming Carlo because he couldnt do anything more with the team he currently has.. Seedorf is having series of terrible absolutely terrible games, what is Carlo supposed to do? Screw our tactics up and play Brocchi there? or change a whole formation just to remove Seedorf? We can't do that, Seedorf is important to us AND WE HAVE NO ADEQUATE REPLACEMENT FOR HIM at the moment, Ancelotti couldn't do anything if Seedorf is playing bad.

I thought that the ref was INCREDIBLY harsh on Milan. Towards the end of the 2nd half it kind of evened out. Damn we really could have gotten a fourth goal at the end, Oliveira was free from 3 yards to head in the cross but Nesta was also behind him and tried to head it and they collided. Nesta had a game to forget today.

I never was comfortable with Kaladze in CB, I hope that after today you guys understand that he is a good player, possible a very good player, but he is not a world class player. We have to replace him with someone better. This is not only because of the point-blank miss, but for his performance. He was definitely better than Nesta but still, I dont think he should be starting for us in the future, we need to buy someone new.

I also hope that Galliani and the President understand that we must dive into the market this January (AND NOT SELL ANYONE), and make our squad depth even more deeper and better. We really need someone to sub Cafu, because he cant play game in and game out. Oh yeah and BTW, Cafu was SPECTACULAR today. What a great game by him.

Anyway, great 2nd half performance by Milan but still there is a deep problem. It is a psycholigical issue. We only start playing well when we are under pressure for some reason. Carlo Ancelotti and the team are the ones responsible for this, they should change their approach to the game. But lets not get too flattered by the performance because Inter were in 10 men for around 30mins, maybe more. Then Vieira got injured and they were in 9 men. We really should have beaten them, but with the way we played in the 2nd half I am satisfied.

Inter are now +14 points ahead of us, and most of you have lost hope, but I find this as the ideal opportunity to start betting for Milan winning the Scudetto as the odds will go up for Milan now :) Fix the mentality of the team, add some depth in January and we're set.

FORZA MILAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

I guess what zZZz meant was that players should be selected for each game according to his current form, while Simic has been in fine shape recently. And who knows, maybe Simic could have done better. :)

Of course, as long as Nesta wants to play, I guess no one would bench him, not even Capello or Ferguson. But I feel bad too as he seems the culprit for many stupid goals this season. Is he really going back to Lazio and is he bothered by those rumors (or thoughts)? If he wants to leave, I want him to be honest with us so we can start preparing earlier. I won't blame anyone for leaving. Players come and go. I especially appreciate Stam. He announced it early so we could start early for a replacement (whether Milan did manage to find one is not his fault, and damn Galliani), and Stam fought for Milan even with injury! until the last minute! His services are greatly appreciated. :proud:

A great Simic might be better than a mediocre Nesta, but what would you expect Ancelotti to do for Derby? :pp18:

But you are right, I am sure that this game would be a right-in-time wake-up call for our team, and hopefully we will see a different Milan (different compared to the first 7 rounds) from now on. It is impossible to catch up with Inter Merda by December, but Galliani is a liar anyway. As long as we make them weep in May, that's what counts. I am confident. Are you? :coffee:

I have to agree with ZZZZZZ here ... Nesta does seem distracted in this period. I doubt that a professional like him would give in to some pretty foundless and far from persisitent rumours of a possible return to Lazio. I think there is a better chance that the birth of his first child is causing these recent lapses, which is something completely natural and human.
Maybe, Simic should be played instead of Nesta right now and I wouldn't doubt Simic's abilities since with him in there, our defense has been real good and he's ofetn the best defender of them all.
Simic did hame some slight injury, though, don't think his recent absence from the first squad had to do with Carlo not liking him or anything of this sort.

Kaka, just incredible. Give him a contract for 15 years. Gila, maybe this is the start of his goalscoring. Oliv played pretty well too. If it wasn't for Cesar's miraculous goalkeeping it would have been 4-4 or maybe even 5-4. We had the lion's share of chances. Inter had maybe 6-7 and they scored on 4 of them. Nesta was horrendous today. Our defense is the worst area of the field.

I have to say I'm proud of the team today... but its still a derby loss, and it is painful.

Another thing, we had around 13 corners, but did one them look even remotely dangersous? Set pieces are a problem, look at Inter's delieveries. 2 goals came off free kicks. Pirlo needs to step up on corners and set pieces in general.

for one moment, even the scoreline was a big question mark. we got a yellow for Seedorf's goal, judging from their faces, I thought the goal was disallowed; and the tv station here was switching the scoreline back and forth; then it was Merdarazzi's goal: I didn't see him taking his jersey off completely and he got a second yellow; I thought that maybe there was a foul in the goal? I was hoping that it would be disallowed for a moment. all in all, this game was full of controversy, well, an important ingredient in the recipe for a classical game anyway.

after all, whether Maicon was red-carded doesn't matter at all to Milan. red or not, should be an issue for inter's next opponent. let's focus on something that is more relevant to Milan. :D

of course, i wish it was a 5-4, and I am sure 4-4 would do just fine. it was painful but I am not sad. I am PROUD. I feel bad for Warro, and no disrespect to him at all, but he should have stayed. In my opinion, it is any fan's moral duties to stay with the team at any time. I have never felt embarrassed by Milan. Sometimes I feel bad, sometimes I feel helpless, and sometimes I feel angry. But Milan is like a child, you are not embarrassed by your own child, are you? Again, that might be just me. :)

Nesta was indeed horrible, and I am really worried about that. i wasn't even worried about Gilardino, but I am really worried about Nesta. :( Oliveira's header might have gone in if not for Nesta's interference from behind, but that's just my opinion.

dead-ball situation worries me too. we often suffer from that, but could never benefit. this is a big question for ancelotti. also, I understand that when Inzaghi and Merdarazzi were both on the pitch, Cafu used a lot of low crosses; but when Gilardino was on and Merdarazzi was off, why didn't Cafu use more high balls? I am sure that it would help, just take a look at what Gattuso did to Oliveira (and Nesta). And Inzaghi would be more dangerous then when there is more space in the box, but we can't play with 12 men. ;)

This is a very important quote from Carlo....

"We will take it week by week, there is a long way to go yet and the important thing is to have the desire and the strength to produce a great season"

and it's nice to know he realises we the fans haven't given up on the side...

"We were applauded off the field by our fans and that shows they understood we gave our all as we tried to come back."

What a match! If Milan would play all the time like they did in the second half with Inter, we would be on the first place by now. Everyone played good (EVEN GILA) good passes, carefully, not losing the ball, a lot of pressing, good anticipations...Yes we have lost, but if Milan starts playing like that from the first half every match then we have a great future. Dida could have saved a goal from Ibra...but its OK. We ll forgive him.

interesting choice of words. then again, coming from you, I am not really surprised. :)

in regards to Gilardino... i'm proven somewhat right again... startin' him off the bench does have its good points... it made him work harder as well as deliverin' the goal... and that is what i wanted all along... players to earn the right to play for the team by their performances and not purely because of their reputation etc...

I still disagree with you about Gilardino. :) I think work ethics is not a problem for him. This kid has no doubt a heart of Milan, and I don't think starting him from the bench makes him work harder, as he always works hard. he needs a goal to start his scoring spree, and let's hope this is the one. :)

I'm not sure tbh, I can't remember exactly what happened. The ref was VERY poor tonight imo, but I can't be bothered to talk about him.

football is 90 min game, some of u are too kind to praise milan for being absent for about 45 min and as a result conceded 3 goals and yet played well in the next 45 min and scored 3 goals,i wont give them high credit since inter played with 10 men and they basically sat back.
this episode reminded me of defeats vs deportivo n liverpool although in somewhat different version. seems like we never learn from our mistake.

call me a pessimist, i will be happy if we finish 4th this season with this kind of performance and since lazio and fiorentina got discount on their point penalties while we didnt get any. i think carlo has to go after this season unless if he can win CL, he made too many costly blunders during his tenure at milan! :d55:

I think that would be an achievement truely, foret he title sorry guys, but this match as aI stressed before is do or die regrding the title race, and you lost, it's up to Plaermo and Roma and Inter to face off this time.

i wouldn't say they were absent throughout the whole first half, they were playing good football, inter were just playing better, and milan were already attacking before materazzi was sent out, if i remeber correctly, milan were really powerful in the first 15 minutes of the second half. i'm not denying the fact that that sending matterazzi out came to our advantage, i'm just stating that milan were already beginning to attack even before materazzi was sent off

I think the season is far from over. The comforting thing is that Inter is at the top of the table and not Juventus. If there is one team who can blow this it's Inter.

As for our performance...our defence was a shambles and how Seedorf is a professional footballer is beyond me sometimes. Notwithstanding his goal, his final product today was simply atrocious.

I apologize to Karim for hating his club and being 100% on Milan's side this night, but i have to admit that Inter is one class above the rest of Italian teams atm.
While they were playing 11 vs 11 it was damn obvious Milan is no match for Inter.
Vieira and Dacourt were simply brilliant. Owning the midfield and closing everything the 4 guys in Milan's midfield tried to do.
Nesta was again the weakest link in the defense and Jankulovski was always too short and too slow.

But after Materazzi was sent off we've seen the magic. Gilardino ( my favourite) prooved he plays football on much higher level than Pippo and Oli do. Seedorf finally woke up, and all the other Milanisti have shown us why we love football.

Deserved win for Inter and deserved 3 goals for Milan. It says it all about what kind of match this was.

At the end, i'll have to disagree with the negative comments on the refs tonight, and i'll give the refs one big 10 for what they did !

What a game!! Here are my thoughts:

1) We only started playing in the second half. Inter owned the first half. We were too slow, predictable. God knows why we dont play with the proper aggression and fighting spirit when the game starts and the score is 0-0.

2) The Christmas tree is not a bad formation for us. I cannot understand why some of us are criticizing it so much. The problem, though is that we need two fast attacking midifielders to serve a lone striker. Two problems: We have only one fast AM--Kaka. Seedorf is too slow and cannot exploit any open space he gets. Second, Inzaghi cannot play as lone striker---he simply lacks the physical presence. So IMO, the formation was right, but the personnel wrong. Would've been a different game if Gorcouff and Kaka played behind Gila.

3) I am glad Silvio was watching the game. The difference in quality between the two sides was obvious. Inter strengthened their squad over the summer and we weakened ours (by not replacing Sheva)---and the difference really showed. Maicon was running up and down the right flank, whereas Cafu was only running up---didnt have enough in the tank to run down. Their central midfield partnership was rock solid---Vieira and Dacourt--both new signings. Whereas our midfield was virtually untouched from 2003---predictable, older, and lacking aggression (except Gattuso :)). Their forwards, Crespo/Ibra were both new acquisitions, and both scored and played well. While Inzaghi was clearly out of depth. We improved much more when Gila and RO came on. Gila looked superb, though RO still to me looks like a replacement for Amoroso, not for Shevchenko.

3) So all in all, great game, great fighting spirit. It's good to know that we refuse to go down without a fight, but something needs to be done in the transfer window, and we need to get a good run of wins together and let Inter do their thing (i.e. collapse). Hopefully by December, the gap isnt so wide.

this was an AMAZING game! i've never been so angry and excited at the same time. milan really picked up their game second half and i just felt that we finally had the drive and that we realized we wanted it! i must commend Kaka' who ran his as$ off all game...he was everywhere- offence, defence, corner kicks...he performed his role. I was pretty disappointed in Oliviera. he is so young and talented, yet he wasn't noticeable at all. i expected him to come out with such intensity to score and run after the ball...but i didn't see that. and the ref! wow...he was aweful! he was trying to be so tough that he was calling all the little things that other refs do not even bother with. all he did was stop the flow of the game when it wasn't really necessary. although we lost i'm really happy that we were able to come together second half and score 3 goals. i hope that our players have learned something from today's game and that we'll always play with the energy and force that we did during the second half.

Not true, the statistics at half time showed that Milan had 53% possession while Inter had 47%. Since the full-time statistics showed that it was 60-40 to Milan, it's pretty obvious that Milan had more possession throughout the entire game, and not just the final 15 minutes.

Guys, don't take this match to mean too much in terms of the quality of the two sides. Inter over the past few weeks have pretty much been at their very best, while we've been pretty much at our worst. Coming into this match, the two clubs were in VERY different positions and personally, I think that second half was our turning point finally, we will start coming good. We can't always play like we did in the second half yesterday, as it's far too demanding physically and mentally for the players. However, we must look at what we did well (especially Seedorf who needs to play using his true ability more like that) and start applying it into our game.

I nearly broke my other hand after Ibrahimovic's goal to make it 3-0 but having 2 broken hands wouldn't have helped me out, but that is how high my frustration was throughout the game. I am very proud of the comeback, and I always look at the bright side with my beloved AC Milan. However, having said that, right now, our aim is to win as many games as possible and to play the captain on the left on a regular basis, until sergio comes back, and to allow gila-oliveira to play together. Pipo loves the shirt and I respect him, but he would best suited to be our super sub, and being the 3rd fwd. We need to really find out how good Oliveira can be at this point. I have been critical of seedorf lately but he was a true champion last night. The whole team was for that matter. With Gourcuff coming back, we can rest pirlo because gourcuff can either cover for him, or cover for seedorf and clarence moves into pirlo's position. Pirlo needs a 2 week break at least. he is dead. Nesta also is not in great shape so why not play simic who has been excellent so far, and even billy c. We will need nesta and pirlo at their best if we are to have a successful season. I know a million fans have spoken about it, but we also need a forward in January. There are some out there. Be it Iaquinta, Tevez, or whomever. As for Inter, I was saving the best for last. They are trash, pure and utter garbage. Classless fuc*&rs!!! They were pathetic after the final whistle, the losers looked as if they had won the lottery and world cup at the same time. The more I think about, Zidane should have headbutted materazzi in the nose. He would have gotten his money's worth. I needed to get this off my chest. I am upset that Inter never wins with class. But in life, what comes around goes around. As for Mr. Farina, what can I say, we know the one mainstay we will get from Italian refs is incompetence and corruption.
We will be back and stronger than ever. Rossonero forever

I have to agree here. Wow, I like to accent at the positives too :bright: but this is just too much :bright: , too surreal :bright: . There are too many should've :bright: , would've :bright: , could'ves here :bright: . Post after post of naive :bright: , in denial sunshine :bright: .

Yes, we put in a good effort after being 3-0 down but we lost, we got our butts handed to us. Let's face the facts. Inter played better and our team is in desperate need for some refreshments all over the place, personnel and tactics. This needed to be done last year, can't you guys see this?

A certain controversial poster who was recently removed from MM complained of this all the time, "We need new players, we need new players". At first I thought he was a real pain the rump and I didn't believe his short rants but after watching this performance and others before it, he's shown me his observations are spot on.

Every fan and I am sure everyone at Milan, from Berlusca to the equipement manager, knows that we new players. I have seen such posts since I became a member of this site back in June. Everyone threw out names like ronaldinho, torres, tevez, oddo, barzagli, Ibrahimovic, Buffon, and many more. I wanted new players as a fan, and the only player we bought that I got excited about is Gourcuff. However we are now in October, the season is well under way and this is the team we have!!!! There is nothing we can do about it. It's the cards we have been dealt. Yes, the players are older, yes we lack width, yes we need scorers, yes we lack fitness, but it's not being naive when we take positives from a near amazing comeback. We can ***** like the loser Inter or Roma fans or move forward and look at the positives. My good man GOOSE, I just moved out of the states after living there for 15 yrs, so don't tell me that when the phoenix suns or Arizona Cardinals (well forget the cards, they suck) or any other team for that matter, makes an amazing comeback yet falls short, that their fans though upset, still praise the effort and the fighting spirit. It happens in every pro and college sport. Milan is no different. Things will get better. Milan management is not incompetent. 7 champions league finals since 1989 prove that.

interesting choice of words. then again, coming from you, I am not really surprised. :)

I am sure you are not surprised...I didnt try to surprise anyone. :) I said 22even Gila", because I saw some right moves from him, and yesterday he was on a place where he is supposed to be. It took him 6 months to realize what is it that he has to do.

Goose, I believe you'll know the miracles this club has produced over the years. We've had worse squads, harder tasks to reach and still managed to do the impossible (98/99?). This season is no different, we're currently in big trouble, but we as fans should ALWAYS keep following the team (I doubt you'll stop following them, especially if you've gone through the first few years of this decade ;) ).

I believe this team is capable of more than we have seen, I don't just believe actually, I know it. I'm sure we'll see some miracles this year. ;)

FORZA MILAN!!!

Fans should not be upset at all, becuase the players showed they could comeback, that's if they had the time, Inter and Milan were both class.

Matches could be won and lost in a matter of minutes, and the evidence for that is too much

is a werid game; Milan conceded 2 goals way too early. I'll definitely blame Ancelotti for fielding Ambrosini, who is definitely NOT fit. I think that's where it costs us, not the 4-3-2-1. The intention is good, but the player's form is, unfortunately, bad.

Karim
29-10-2006, 18:45
The problem with that formation is that although you had Kaka supporting Inzaghi, Pippo was cut out by the defense all through the first half, Kaka and Gattuso weren't supporting Pippo well enough

I didn't read the all the comments. There was too many of them so here are my thoughts and I am sorry if some of this was mentioned already!

I was shocked at the line up that Carlo came up with at the beggining. I swear I could sence trouble comming in with that line up. There was NO pressure on their defence at all. Pippo was totally alone and outmarked, outmuscled and always marked by Inter. It is really not his fault. Seedorf had one of the worst performances of his career in the first half as far as I am concerned. He did pick it up in the second half however and I have to give him that. He put a lot of effort out on the pitch.

As much as I don't want to say this.........Carlo lost the game for us. He totally put out the wrong tactic in the first half, and we paid for it. Inter was mostly all over us. And even though 3 of theri goals weren't up to Inter's briliance then mostly OUR individual mistakes, still the tactics were totally wrong. We saw what the real Milan looks like in the second half, when we play the way we should. It is not right to blame only Carlo as, if the players played a little better maybe the situation was going to be different. Maybe then we were going to hail Carlo's "mastermind", but it did not turn out that way, so we have nothing left to do but say we are unhappy with what he put out there. Inzaghi had nothing against the Inter defence. Carlo.......If you are going to play the X-mass tree, please make it with a strong target-forward who can hold the ball and fight some chalenges.

Another thing...........I have been keeping this inside for a while now but have been running out of patience and I will definatly say it now! AMBROSINI is not nearly a Milan material type of player. I don't know what he offers to our team. I normaly have patience for all our players and never crititize them like this.....but sorry......Ambrosini is horrible. We played with a man less in the first half and the one responsible for that was Ambrosini. He never made ONE thing that had ANY influence on the game whatsoever! The second goal Stankovic scored I would blame on Ambrosini........because the defence was pushed back from their forwards and they were awaiting a cross. The ball got turned inside by Dacourt(I think) to Stankovic who had a lot of time to line one in. If you look closely you would see Ambrosini just jogging behind Stankovic......and when he saw that the ball is actually getting to Stankovic he started sprinting which by then.........was TOO LATE! Well you need to hustle on the field to play. Expecially if you don't have a starting spot an you want one. I am totally dissapointed by him. Everyone else played bad in the first half as we had no ideas of what to do......but Ambro was in the front of the pack and I was really dissapointed.

Their third goal was just a good counter as we did push up right after the start of the 2nd half. Their last goal was a foul on Nesta. Even though he wasn't the one guarding Materazzi, he had a chance of getting that ball. But...the story of the night was that Inter got 90% of the calls their way. As matter of fact the foul that resulted in the first goal wasn't really a foul I think.

The positives............2nd half. I was so pissed after the first half I was already throwing stuff around the house. But the second half performance made me proud. So much grit from our players and they actually looked like the wanted to win after that horrible first half. Gilardino scored what was a briliant goal and that was a huge positive. I think it was again proven that we have a good striking duo up front and Carlo needs to work on that. Oliveira and Gilardino have been looking impressive. We also had a lot of chances to score......I have to say a lot more then Inter. Great display by Cafu as well, as he looked like he was 20 again. What class by Maldini too as he whipped in some great crosses and some hard tackles as well. Just.....the whole 2nd half was great even though we concided 2 goals.

All is not lost and if Milan can play with the type of determination they showed in the 2nd half.......I really don't know if a team out there can beat us. Great come-back, but it really is not enough to beat Inter with only playing for 45 minutes and be absent for the other 45. We needed to play the whole 90 to win, and sadly we didn't do that.
Let's look up to the CL now and get back to winning ways.

Forza Milan Forever!!!

Well if I am not wrong, I can reacal the fact that when AC Milan signed that coward Ricardo Olivera :5milan: it was U ppl who said he will score goals, I was the one who criticized that coward by calling him USELESS. Now see what he is all abt??????He is absolute useless, we dont need him, kick him out and bring some quality striker (Huntelaar, Makaay or Ronaldo) plus we needed William Gallas & Buffon to replace another COWARD DIDA but I dont know whats wrong with AC Milan transfer concern ppl, defeat to Inter Milan has made me sick :horny: , its almost impossible to accept defeat to the hands of a team who are NOT better than us :dontkn:

Just to be an inter player is a good reason to be sent off. :haha:

He got the second card because he was showing refree his new movado.
(No kidding again)

He got the second one because he was pointing toward the watch to blow the final whistle.

Just to be an inter player is a good reason to be sent off.

---> I really agree with this statement ... hehehehehee

Btw, if Milan can play like the second half start from now on, I am sure the Scudetto will be our. Really, it's rarely we can see Milan playing like that.

I really proud of Milan.

Forza Milan !!!

Zeekay, don't even try to be funny talking like that... regardless of the fact that it's my duty as Moderator to warn you, as a plain member I tell you that posting like that will not get you anywhere... so measure your words...

you call Dida a coward, but if you had him in front of you you wouldn't say anything...

so keep your words to yourself, unless you have something to say, and you say it properly...

and this is a formal public warning...

begining of this season ,critisizing all who keep sayn : ' buy this one , buy this one too ' ... , we need some big guns and we neede'm right now , Berlu : show me the money!!!

I wonder if Warro is happy he left early ...

I left the forum NAMMY, but not the game...couldnt watch, type, and curse at the same time.

So proud of the team, so sorry about the loss...

As has been said, it was a game of two halves, unfortunately, we lost concentration as some key points in the game...Stankovitch is too good a player to be given that much space, and if that goal didnt win it for them, Ibra´s certainly took us back mentally, then Matrix...capped it for them.

Second half probably saved Carlo´s neck...this is the wrong season for us to have such a poor start to the league season.

Suffice it to say, that, despite my disappointment, I retain a certain sense of pride, and with the ref basically calling the game for them, we performed to the standard I am used to seeing Milan play at, and basically we lost 0-1...so all in all....FORZA MIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIILAN!!!!!

And it aint over..till its over...and I aint seen the fat lady yet...and she hasnt opened her mouth to sing yet either...

Past: "Don't worry, we will be above Inter come december!" Galliani to Milan fans after Milan was penalized 8 points for this season.

Present: November is around the corner and Milan is 14 points behind Inter and only 3 above relegation zone.

In your face Galliani and Berlu :D, I felt sad for them sitting in the stadium all upset and all.

Anyways, again guys don't give up and it may turn up to the best, and if not at least you could go for a CL spot, the league is long, not that possible but still you could do it, but that would need more work from the players and even more luck regarding Inter Roma and Palermo to drop out.

too early for such commenst, Karim, way too early ... especially when you consider which team is 14 pts ahead of Milan. if there is a team out there that can blow this, no one's better at this than Inter ;)

too early for such commenst, Karim, way too early .
Don't ruin the party Zlat.
Imagine not having sex for 17 years, and suddenly you hear some girl in a bar saying she likes you . You'd also get all excited. On top of it,you aranged the two fellas who were constantly taking over all the girls, to be out of the bar that night.
Of course, there's a huge chance you won't have sex with this girl, and someone else will take her at his place.

Few facts for Karim :

season 1999/00

Standings after round 27
Juventus 60 points
Lazio 50 points

Final standings after 34 rounds
Lazio 72 points
Juventus 71 points

season 2001/02
Standings after round 29
1. Inter 64 points
2. Roma 59 points
3. Juventus 56 points

Final standings after 34 rounds
1. Juventus 71 points
2. Roma 70 points
3. Inter 69 points

So, Juventus managed to lose 10 points lead in last 7 rounds and lost the scudetto in 2000.
Your team lost 8 points in last 5 rounds, and ended as third placed in 2002.
And we also remember last year, when Juve almost blew it after having +12 points more than Milan in last 8 rounds.

There are 29 more rounds till the end...... History thought you nothing ???? ;)
