View Full Version : Maldini vs curva sud
http://www.gazzetta.it/Calcio/Primo_Piano/2007/09_Settembre/20/maldini.shtml
In short, Paolo is not satisfied with Milan's supporters and the way Curva is doing their "job".
Personally, I see things going downhill singe the departure of Fossa, its really clear. San Siro is not filled as it used to be, there are no coreos, flaires, anything. The politicians and laws of people that have no passion and heart for football have destroyed the ultras phenomenon and now the whole magic of San Siro is ruined. Paolo is right, but I dont see a way how this can be fixed.
There are other ways do stop crime and violence, and not by demolishing the real passion atmosphere in football stadiums.
Its not easy to fix the things between the ultras groups and Im glad our captain who has a lot of love for the club pointed that uot. Maybe things will now go uphill for San Siro crowd as there really lacks some of the old magical atmosphere! I hope soon we'll see San Siro shaking again...
FORZA PAOLO AND CURVA SUD!!
He didn't actually mention the Curva Sud in the statement linked. It could be the Curva Nord he was talking about, or other's.
Either way, we as fans have a right to criticise a player, otherwise the club can just accept mediocre performances from these players, and let them retire in our colours whilst doing nothing in matches.

he does mean the curva sud as this is where the heart of th ultras is at san siro and generates the noise we all love but also sets the tone for the rest of the stadium -
i belive that the ultras motives are a little selfish as they have for years enjoyed help from the club in regards to tickets for away games, for euroopean games and money for the choreographies that we love to see -
but due to catania incident and many other ultra related events the italian authorities are regulting ultra groups - which means the clubs must tow the line or face exopulsion from serie a and europe - so they have no choice and lets be hinest some ultras do cross the line -
however the real gripe they had was for the CL final and the club coudnt get more tickets for athens for the ultras whom demanded them from the club- they basically have tried to hold the cluib to ransom when in reality they are no more entitled to tivckets etc than other fans - all of whom would like to have been in athens - myself as a seaon ticket holder included !!!!
the ultra groups selfish attitude and actiosn have dissolusioned many in curva- i often stand in curva with my italian friends and they have voiced their ocncerns for changes - but i would say that for tmosphere the milan v man utd game was simply electric- so its not all doom and gloom
as for the players under performing i would like to know which nes you mean from last season as serie a form picked up and we finished in top 4 as well as won the Cl - so except for Dida whom perfomances are getting more erratic i tihnk everyone pulled thir weight- yes voice concerns but dont punish the ehole team for 90 mins each week -
the derby perofmance i accept wasnt good enogh last seaosn but by the end inter agian were forgotten as the champiosn of europe drove into milan !!!!
He didn't actually mention the Curva Sud in the statement linked. It could be the Curva Nord he was talking about, or other's.
"...Con un aiuto da parte della nostra curva, non avremmo perso quella partita.... Comunque non è solo la curva a non sostenerci: anche i tifosi degli altri settori se ne stanno zitti...."
Brigate or whoever should listen what the Captain says and pull their act together.

Good gravy...
Anyway, San Paolo is right. If the ultras insist on acting this way because of some selfish political agenda, then they shouldn't go to the matches and then free up the space for fans who actually want to be there.

paolo is exactly right....i just dont see the same electric atmosphere that the san siro use to have..and it imean watch the matches in even 2002/2003 the san siro is packed even on matchday one of the CL and flaires are being lit and confetti everywhere its just creates that atmosphere that the players need to feel like they ae playing home ....if you watch the other CL matches ull notice the stadiums are almost full the atmosphere is amazing and so much so that there are even coreos being done in full supposrt of their team....but i barely hear any singing ...i just hope all of this changes

Maldini is correct, and I for one am getting a little distressed about the booing towards Dida and Gila that's going on. The atmosphere hasn't been great from last season and this year it's actually becoming a little disgraceful (most of all due to attacks on our own players). The support isn't great but not because it can't be, as the CL semi final last season in San Siro demonstrated well. I'm proud of moments like when our supporters gave Rui a wonderful standing ovation, but then we're doing things which we shouldn't accept.
Going back to Gila and Dida, before this season and last I didn't ever see individuals from our squad get booed or personally attacked in all the years I've supported Milan, but this is now a common sight. It's one thing to criticise and lament the team, and it's even fair to point out players when they are poor, but to attack them the way these guys are constantly attacked (especially Gila even more than Dida), even when they don't actually do anything wrong (Gila scores and he still gets criticised for missing another chance) is not only sad to see, but it's not ever going to help them. Their confidence is rock bottom, so instead of supporting them to try to help them through their problems we kick them when they're down. Is this how Milan fans now treat our players?
Our squad is one that has always done better with greater support. We as Milan fans over the years made the San Siro a fortress and we have been rewarded with results on the pitch. Argubly our greatest performance ever was last season and what was the one thing all the players asked for ahead of that match? It was for the fans support. Have we forgotten how much ahead of the second leg against Man U we, the fans, were pumped up? This is the kind of excitement the players feed off of.
I'm sick to death of all the complaints about the squad, and the lack of support shown to it. We have the same squad here that reached 4th spot when halfway through last season we were fighting relegation and are the Champions of Europe (actually it's stronger now). Is it really bad to at least show support for these players? Why should they have to accept such negative support when they have won so much for the club. It's not we can't criticize a poor performance, but this season we've only actually played one bad match which even then we were actually a little unlucky not to win, so why are we already diregarding this side from winning the biggest competitions, especially the league in which only Roma have actually done well.
Then there's the criticism of the management. I understand we want big signings and we want to be stronger, but the management isn't composed of idiots. They're the most successful management group in our history for a reason, and even now after we won the CL in our hardest season ever I'm seeing comments about how the management need changing or that they're in it for the money. Why? Because they decided not to spend too much during a transfer window. Perhaps they could have done better, but who are we to show such disrespect to their decisions when they've done so much for the club?
Instead of getting behind the squad and management that has been so incredibly successful, we show no faith in them whatsoever, disregarding everything they've achieved with petulant behaviour. This isn't an issue with the fans in the stadium, it's a problem with Milan fans everywhere. Too many Milan fans these days act far too much like spoilt children, it's disgusting. All the things we take pride in such as our behaviour and respect for opponents becomes almost meaningless when we can't even show support for our team!
Edit: Actually, I just want to add one last thing, our behaviour these days is almost as bad as the Inter fans over the years, and that more than anything should give us a fair sign as to what to expect should we continue down this path.

Explain to me more on this point?
Anyways, it's becoming a bit boring for me to watch Milan matches in San Siro, if it weren't for the good football, I would watch Milan matches.
What is the true problem of BRN with Milan?

Brilliant insight on what is happening to the Milan supporters this season.
They have grown envy on other clubs whom were able to bring in big signing in every transfer windows and vent out their self-centered frustrations on the same group of players and management whom brought continued success to the club.
There have been so many examples of wrong buys throughout the past few seasons for other clubs and yet our supporters still choose to follow suit.
Luckily, unlike so many real-life voting shows around these days that have decided the fates of would-be celebrities, the management of Milan does not falls in the hand of the supporters. Or else i would choose to be an Inter fan! :grinser:
Why get huge signings when you don't really need?
The squad is on a good rol and those guys have just one more season left, next winter and summer, we should expect Milan to have a big name or two, at least one in the defense and another upfront, but the mid has the perfect combination of experience and youth and productivity

I think the ultras are basically shooting themselves in the foot here, if we assume that it is in everyone's interest that Milan wins as many games as possible. Maldini and Oddo are right, the players deserve the support of the fans, because of everything they have given us.
Granted, the way the ultras are being treated by the club might not be fair, but this is not the right way to protest it. If the fans want Milan to win, then for God's sake, get behind the team and give the players the support they need, instead of keeping silence to prove some point to the club, authorities, etc. The players are not responsible anyway, and have done nothing to deserve this treatment.
I do believe that the situation will resolve itself in one way or another, even if things might be a bit different than before due to last season's events in Catania. It is not in Milan's interest to have unhappy players and fans who don't even sing at the games, and sooner or later the club will have to do something to improve the situation.
It is annoying though, that Milan should be held ransom by its own fans. This is absolutely disgraceful behavior. To me it seems that some of these groups have completely lost focus on what is actually the point of their existence - to support the team. If the ultras can't do this, then why do they even bother going to the stadium?
In the end, if everyone behaves like a civilized human being and gets behind the team like all good fans are supposed to, then there will be no problems. It really shouldn't be too much to ask.
It's rather more complicate than what it appears. Historically Milan fans (the Curva fans) have always been one step ahead of all other tifoserie, if anything cause ultra style supporting was invented by Milanisti, everybody else followed later. The main issue is the new law. Despite not having caused major incidents for the past decade or so, Milan's Curva Sud took a uncompromising stand against it whilst a number other Curve's kind of eased off protest after the immediate uncompromising statements. In two words, if people that have never set foot in a stadium have decided that no banners, no drums, no microphones and so on are allowed, the Curva Sud will comply, matter of fact they'll stay silent. In other words a white strike.
Inter fans have sort of followed suit in the last few days.
We shall see how things will evolve.
Coming to the non-curva fans that boo players of their very own team, when the Curva was active they went un-noticed, now they have become the only tangible sign of emotion in San Siro. Personally they get on my nerves.
Could add a few other things, but I'll leave it here for now

wils6000 hits the real problem
On gazzetta.it, today theer are some red&black supporters's messages.
They are very very very angry with those "curva sud ultras"
Another about what happened at Montecarlo for the SuperCup game vs. Sevilla:
"Ho amato la SUD fino a quando c'è stata la FOSSA. Adesso è una cosa vergognosa!! E lo dico in particolare dopo quanto avvenuto allo stadio di Monte Carlo durante la SuperCoppa Europea.
Nessuno lo ha ancora raccontato, ma i "Signori", durante la partita, quando il resto del pubblico ha cominciato con i cori spontanei ha fatto partire il seguente coro di risposta:
"A NOI DELLA PARTITA
NON CE NE FREGA UN mazzo
ULTRAS LIBERI!!"
Beh... allora... STATEVENE A CASA!!!
FORZA VECCHIO CUORE ROSSONERO!!!!! ".

What is the true problem of BRN with Milan?
Simple really, during the years Inter were unsuccessful the fans have often turned on the team (resorting to some quite drastic measures too) and Moratti. This sort of attitude isn't going to help the squad perform better and likely will result in the team falling further. Inter are a prime example of this.
It's rather more complicate than what it appears. Historically Milan fans (the Curva fans) have always been one step ahead of all other tifoserie, if anything cause ultra style supporting was invented by Milanisti, everybody else followed later. I agree with your points, as Devoted_DM said, even though the ultras may be limited now, surely this is not the way to react (actually, I don't think they should react at all). My previous post wasn't so much to do with them (I was annoyed about many Milan fans in general, never mind the Ultras), but I do feel they are the ones who are looked to when we want to show great support for the club or at least the players, which the Fossa Dei Leoni were excellent at. I think this displeasure should be dealt with in other ways, as this current method isn't likely to help anyone and only cause trouble. However, I especially don't like the attitude of the ultras (especially since the Fossa disbanded), as they really have taken things too far, expecting far more than what is acceptable.
As Gino has said above, wils originally hit the problems right on the mark, but even when you take away the Curva fans, why are the rest of our fans reacting so poorly? This gets on my nerves because they show such poor support, even though they're not even involved in the Curva's issues, and we're talking about a group that would take up almost half the stadium if not more. And then look across forums where so many fans post. This one and XT (and many others too) are constantly negative nowerdays barring a few, what happened to supporting the team?
Diavolo, being a regular poster at XT I'm sure you can confirm there's a very negative attitude there, much like here.
Thanks to Jeff and Baggioforever for the kind words.

I do think that Paolos words actually play into the hands of the Ultras.By admitting that the Ultras can play a part in the teams perfomance he is suggesting that the team cannot do without them. This in itself would tell me that such fans DO deserve special treatment. The club themselves MUST take some responsibility for the current situation.I have e-mailed the club on numerous occassions asking if we could take our flag to the games.I have not even had the courtesy of a reply to my many requests despite doing exactly as the club asked by e-mailing them at the address given. It would seem to be that the club are trying to dictate to the fans what they can and cannot do rather than have a dialogue.
I also wonder if Paolo was being critical of the Curva or perhaps of the other parts of the ground?

Though the club really should send a reply, bear in mind they are probably getting a lot of emails, so to reply to every one promptly might be difficult.
I think the ultras are more likely to answer Maldini's comments positively more than anyone else, simply because it is San Paolo. I also don't think the club dictate to the fans what they can and cannot do, but rather have their hands tied from the new laws, and thus are forced to implement these laws (or face severe punishments).
Finally, though I'm fairly certain that Maldini's comments were mostly aimed at the curva, I'm sure they were also directed to the other fans too (as they show little support and have been booing Gila and Dida).

so the support will resume? i hope soo...and the baning against flags ect has disgusted me....it really has taken away the culture of italian football ...i think in italian football is where the flags for teams are really raised and banners and flaers ect......taking this away i think the curva has felt that it has limited them to almost nothing they can sing and chant which is great but taking away the flags banners ect has realy taken the reall atmosphere and culture out of italian football...and ihope the curva suports us full in the latter stages of the CL
it will never be the same situation on curva sud without FDL, and now Italy stadiums are becoming like those in England, theatre....

As it now stands they are anachronistic and dilapidated monstrosities. Milan's curva sud is definitely more peaceful than the other curva thugs in Italy, but honestly if I was asked to sacrifice choreos for moden seating and private ownership of stadiums I would be all for it.

I think it would be a tragedy if this happened, cause that would signify that capitalism has taken over the working man's game in Italy too.
Something very unique about Italian football would be gone, and it would become a sterile, clean entertaintment product, just like football in England. But football needs passion, or its spirit dies!
I do want people to feel safe when they bring their families to the stadiums, I hope that in the future, everyone who wants to can attend matches and not have to worry about getting beaten up, being gassed with tear gas, etc.
But I also want to see the ultras supporting the team like they always have, with flags, flares, banners, megaphones and coreographies.
It's as I said - if everyone behaves like a decent human being, then there will be no problems. So the ultras have to start getting rid of those rotten apples within their own ranks, because that is really the only way to save the curva.

You don't have to be a ultra to show passion. In fact things would improve, and ultras couldn't hold clubs on ransom.
Also, your working class comment is strange. I understand championing the underdog, but most people who would come to see Milan play would still be working class.
I think football in England is a wonderfully packaged product, even if I don't care for the football itself and even if, admittedly, it smacks of self-importance. Have you heard their vociferous support? It is really something to play in a packed house week in and week out.
Finally, I suspect that many of the Milan ultras are not disenfranchised youths as most believe. They're probably accountants and suit and tie men in their real lives. I am just hazarding a guess, but maybe I am completely wrong.

I'll aks you only one question:
Have you ever been on some game with some ultras group???
No, nor do I have any real desire to.
I could care less if ultras make noise, choreos and exhibit passion. Good for them.
What I care about is the health of Italian football. I don't want ultras to wield so much power that they can stop derbies (Roma-Lazio). I don't want ultras to bring racist paraphernalia into stadia.
I realize our ultras are generally well behaved, but they all aren't model citizens exactly. I want stadiums in Italy to be all-seaters, where families can fill the stands. I don't want death and violence in the stadia. I don't want racist chants.
Again, I respect your opinion that ultras are great, and I guess in Bosnia they probably put on quite a show, but for me I like to go to a stadium and watch football--not thugs who strike when not allotted tickets properly.
I assure you they're not the future, but part of Italian football's peculiarly retrograde element. Maybe this is slightly unrelated, but did you witness the scenes outside the stadium in Catania? It looked like some distant third world dystopia, not Italy, the land which is highly cultured, IMO.
Should Galliani walk around with bodyguards?
Again, I am sure our ultras are good, but given the recent displays of fans of Lazio etc. you can't blame the government. Do a few ruin it for a lot? Yes. Such is life.
Again, I respect your opinion on this matter Mirza, but you have to understand that having pleasant stadiums should be the goal for all clubs. And clubs, to a degree, are complicit in this because they brook this nonsense from the ultras, and in many cases cater to these groups.
Italian gouverment trying to stop violence on stadiums and facist signs, ok. But first let them try to stop mafiosi who rule their football!! oh wait...they are mafia as well...
Banning flaires, coreos, transparents, flags is an IDIOTIC move any anyone who doesnt agree with this is not a real football fan or doesnt understan football culture.
Let people with their families go to the west and ast part of the stadium, and let the ultras live their lives on the Curva! This is a crime what they are doing. Im supporting curva's demands all the way. No to violence, but also no to modern football.

Prodi is not mafiosi. Berlusconi is, yes, but not Prodi. The new Italian government is miles better in terms of character (maybe not policy) than Berlusconi's xenophobic, corrupt one. I think Berlu is a great president of our club, but let's not forget who he is, and how he got to power.
Banning flares is great. Just ask Dida.
Banning choreos and flags is not so great. But have you seen some of the symbols on display at a Lazio game?
What I was touching on was more the ultras culture, and how it's not the way forward. You obviously think otherwise, and so to minimize the debate (or perhaps avoid it), you say anyone who doesn't agree doesn't understand football culture. I grew up around Italians all my life, and I can read Italian, speak it (sort of) and understand it. I am aware that it is an integral part of Italian football culture, but that doesn't make it good. I have read numerous articles on the subject as well.
So do I understand Italian football culture when it comes to ultras? Yes. Do I agree with it? No.

It's hard to speak about something that you only know from TV, newspapers, internet.....;)
I don't understand USA hip hop scene, East side - West side, why are they killing each other, why don't police and goverment don't forbid that kind of music, cause people are killing each other caus of it, why don't we all listen classical music, go to the theatre and sit down with our familly and enjoy in that music :5ok:

Well if we use your philosophy then no one should comment on anything that they haven't experienced. So, for example, if you see atrocities in Darfur you shouldn't condemn them because you haven't been there. Similarly, if I see a cop killed in Catania, I shouldn't deem it reprehensible.
I (and I suspect Remote2Book) personally like hip-hop a lot, but we don't have to be criminals if we listen to it. Similarly, I like Milan, but I don't hold my club on ransom.
No one is saying ban football because of violence and threats (which you're saying with your hip-hop point i.e. ban a whole genre of music because of idiots).
Yes, no one is saying ban the football, but they are saying ban the ultras!
So do you people like San Siro now? Does it look safe enough for you???
Ultras groups fight eachother, there is unwritten code about it, innocent people RARELY get hurt becouse of ultras.
To close my point, this laws are ruining atmosphere in italy, as the atmosphere and the mentality in italy is NOt the same as in England or Spain.
SAVE THE ULTRAS and let them their way with insulting banners, transparents, flaires and so on. Who cares in the end? Brigate Rossonere have problems becouse their logo was used as a nacistic sign. So we should bann it now? And the nacistic sign is actually a simbol from some kind of budism that speaks about time that "lives" in periods and so on.... So whats the point? I can understand that some people get disconforted in the stands near the ultras, but I dont care. go home then, and the problem is solved. Football lived for 50 years like that and it was all ok, people enjoyed it. now suddenly everything is dangerous and so on...pathetic. Lock up those who create trouble, let the ultras to cheer the way they want.

BAN WHOLE CULTURE BECAUSE OF IDIOTS ;)
No, it's not the same situation...
You said, as an example, ban hip-hop because of violence. You didn't say ban guns or the people committing it.
Similarly, we are not saying ban football because of the violence in it. The idea is to ban those who commit the violence.
Notice the structure of the argument. You said ban hip-hop because it gives rise to, in your opinion, gun culture.
I am not saying ban football because it gives rise to ultras culture.
And btw, this is not a case of ruining it for everyone etc. The Brigate as an entire movement protested.
Furthermore, you're simplifying the problem. I am assuming you're referring to the Tupac Shakur - Biggie rivalry. That rivalry went beyond hip-hop. The ultras may also go beyond football, but the idea is to ban the (violent) behaviour which directly impacts the public inside the stadium.
By the way I am not for banning choreos etc. I am against giving the ultras the power they have in Italy.

Yes we should ban all swearing, potentially offensive banners and chants against the opposition.Lets face it the referees get too much abuse these days also.remember they too are human and should not be offended either.Wouldnt it be nice if football stadiums were a cross between a church and a library? Now surely then we wont offend anyone and everyone will be happy-but will Paolo be happy?

Like I sad, I am not talking about Milan ultras in particular. Mrki and Mirza are against modernizing football in Italy, which I think is a great disservice to the sport.

The Rome derby on March 21, 2004 was abandoned four minutes into the second half, with the score tied at 0-0, when a riot broke out in the stands and the president of the league called the match off. The riots, including literal exchanges of fireworks, followed the spread of a rumour that a boy had been killed by a police car just outside the stadium. This story was spread to the players when three leaders of Roma's ultras (hardcore fans) walked onto the pitch to speak with Francesco Totti, the Roma captain. He then asked for the match to be called off, at which point Italian Football League president Adriano Galliani was reached by the referee by mobile phone — from the pitch — and ordered the game postponed.
After the match was postponed a prolonged battle among fans and between fans and police ensued, with stands being set on fire and people fleeing the stadium, eventually resulting in over 13 arrests and over 150 injured among the police alone. Police resorted to tear gas after fans continued throwing fireworks and started burning cars and motorbikes outside the stadium.

Maldini talking to ultras to unite and support the team. Its a good thing, but as i see even management could do thing to prevent this from happening.
- i for one was tired of all this jumbo news about buying someone special and landing grandpa in the end. I respect the 'family' thing here in Milan, but pushing it over the edge is not good.
- due to previous fact, many people bought tickets. And now they get to see performances like the last one against parma, and the one before. Ok, maybe supporters should go out there and leave their voices for the team, but team should do something in return. Playing with 4 DMs, 44+ wings and such doesnt help.
I know there is more to it (re-dealing with tickets by some ultras groups for instance) and in that case its some of ultras to blame. And i know i cannot speak bad about team if i was there only once although i have relatively good options to go there. Its just how i think things stand from normal fan's view (those are the one that leave seats empty).

i am now glad that the curva has resumed their chants and hopefully the club will repsond to this by having an understanding with the ultras over the over policing of banners etc- as the ultras have shown as always that they support the team - this hasn ever been in question - some of the motives of a few i would question as in my last post but i believe that the curva is a fantastic place to be- i must thank diavolo for my experiences there but also my other friends who stand in the curva and have been a little put out with recent events-
milan ultras on the whole are a historically non violent group and whom have agreat understading of football and the club - and so with this in mind i hope that milan use their common sense and treat their own fans as a milanese collective and not as italian ultras as this can only harm relations as milan fans were not involved with the rome derby - or roma v man utd- or catania riots or the numerous other events- inter flare in Cl etc- list goes on !!! - we all want safe stadiums and the san siro is just that - i have never felt intimidated or felt at any point that i would not want my family or friends in the stadium - obviously families not to go in Curva as it is a particuarly lively place but the san siro has 60,00 other seats to sit in in which to enjoy the game- FORZA MILAN - diavolo i still need to meet you for dvd transaction !!- i am in milan for shaktar game in october

The problem the ultras mention is not created by the club. It is not just a Milan thing.

Hasan translation is correct.
"Some of Milan Curva would want to produce the greatest damage possible to AC Milan, because AC Milan don't give more tickets and pass free to those supporters.
The idea is to throw some missiles on the field during 24 october match against Shaktar just to provoke the AC elimination from the CL.

imo this news is a hoax.
we shall see....
Very tricky situation.
First of all : How can a real supporter say something like this ?
Second - even if there is a possibility a real supporter to make these threats i guess it's only blackmailing. Something like "We'll say that we'll do what we'll never really do only so we can get what we want"
Third - Milan as a club is in a very tough situation. They can't allow to be blackmailed and they can't allow some idiots to cost the team millions and millions. So what shall they do ?
This will not happen and even if it happens Milan will not be thrown out of Europe. Plus, who ever does it will end up in jail by italian laws.

Thrown out of Europe, probably not.
But you may very well be forced to play in empty stadium (wasn't this what Inter got when their fans stopped Milan-Inter in CL ?) and you may also lose the match vs Shaktar 0:3 if the fans stop the match.
I also don't think it will happen, especially since the security personal are now even more prepared.

I myself have no opinion one way or the other.
All in all, Milan fans have not caused major incidents for the last decade or so, receiving plause even from UEFA. However Milan's Curva Sud, more than any other set of fans, has openly criticized the new law. Milan's Curva Sud has now suddenly become one of the most dangerous places on the face of Earth.

I hate to blame everything that happens to this team to their lack of transfer activities, but they are all related to it. Why have the fans lost interest in this team? Because they haven't seen any new exciting faces for years. Signing a major star is not just for improving the squad any more, it is also the best way to attract fans to the stadium and sell jerseys. This team has been getting worse year after year without good reinforcements coming to its way and it has finally frustrated some of the fans. I mean, we were the single best team in Europe merely 4 years ago, always chasing Serie A and Champions League titles at the same time, and look at us now, we have no shot at the Serie A title and we are only trying to get lucky during the Champions League year after year. To make matter even worse, some of the players the management decides to trust, such as Gilardino and Dida performs very poorly out there. Who here are satisfied with Dida's butterfingers and Gilardino's inability to score one single goal when we need him to? And yet, even though at least 1/3 of the squad shouldn't really be here any more, they get contract extensions and no new players are signed to take their place. That is the policy right now for the management. As long as they don't have to spend money, they don't give a crap who is here. If this policy continues, more fans will be frustrated with this team and especially its management.

I'm sorry to say, but I think what you say show how spoilt you are, as a Milan fan, taking things so for granted that you (and many others) are begging for something unrealistic.
1) You don't need me to show you what happened to teams that get big stars every year, and compared their record with Milan.
2) getting lucky in Champion League? 4 times in the semi-final, 1 time we screw ourselves up against Deportivo, 3 times in the final, and 2 wins. While some other team has set the target of getting the Champion League Cup for two times in 10 years, spending big money, only to have 25,000 fans show up in their stadium?
3) no shot at the Serie A title when it has just started?
4) questioning about the trust the management put in Gilardino and Dida (the so-called negative factors, and I'm not even sure if I want to count Dida in), without remembering the trust they put in Shevchenko, Inzaghi, and some INter-loser but MIlan-winner Pirlo and Seedorf, who have all gone through difficult periods and are all once considered as redundent, unwanted, gone? trust in Nesta who suffers 4-month injuries and spend his time in Miami watching Shaq O'neill?
Despite that we won the chamipon league, despite that we have been reaching the semi-final for the past 4 out of 5 years, despite winning the super cup twice, despite 1 serie A title, it's not enough?
When will you be satisfied, Milan fans?

Really Diav? wow. Really sad to hear that, but I hope something happens soon.
slifer, i agree with the majority of what you said. Not entirely, but most of it. I like the squad the way it is, but I think we desperately needed 2 or 3 more players. I also am pissed off at the false promises the management has given us, but what the heck, they have been more succesful than almost any club in history in the past 5 years, so who are we to speak? Let the professionals do their job, we are just fans. All we can do is discuss whether it was right or wrong.
When will you be satisfied, Milan fans?
Dont want to argue Jim, your post was good and you spoke wisely :)
But I'll repeat it again, its not about regular Milan fans. Every single Milan fan on the face of the earth is satisfied - we are European champions for the love of god!! We have great players and now Kaka' will recieve golden ball, any maybe even Maldini! its all great in that section.
This is about ultras, and I applaud to curva sud for being the only one to step up against those laws. The other ultras didnt to a thing about it...
When will fans be satisfied? The fans are satisfied, they werent cheering before as well, it was all always about curva and the stadium followed them.
When will the curva be satisfied? when these stupid laws end.
no al calcio moderno!
p.s.
about ht emercato: Im also angry about the was Galliani is acting, but as much we like silvio and thank him, its all his "fault". He turned down to pay for Toni, Trez, Ribery, Abidal, Henry...
Still, we ARE the most sucessfull european club in the past 20 years, so we better shut up...
The CS are just being kids in certain issues, but at the same time they make a good point about the club not being that supportive in giving certain grants to them to ease up lives in the stadium.
We (UA)) in Egypt are having the same troubles, but still we manage to go to the stadium and made our first large scale coreo even though Zamalek club security was against us

Milan ultras aren't protesting cause Gila isn't scoring, or we didn't buy Ronaldinho...they where supporting Milan all time, no matter did we won or lose game..of course that all ultras would like that they team is always winning, but they will support it nomatter of result...
They are protesting becuase of this stupid laws in Italy...
I know there aren't big chances that they'll change anything, cause now uefa and clubs love more rich people (I can't call them fans) who will pay big money for their VIP places, than regular guys who are ready to give their lifes for their club...
All Italian ultras should start to fight against this stupid laws...
not just Italians, today that laws are in Italy, tomorrow maybe in Greece, Turkey....but how are the things going modern football will destroy ultras culture....
NO AL CALCIO MODERNO!!!
AGAINST MODERN FOOTBALL!!!!

So what is the whole jing bang of the Curva Sud protest about? ?
Just because Milan stop giving free tickets to them and they wanna protest?
Just because there is no new faces and the old ones seems....old and they wanna protest?
Just because we've played 4 matches in the Serie A with ZERO loss and they wanna protesT?
Just because a talented 25 year old player whom had contributed 30 plus goals in his 2 season with us going through a rough patch and they wanna protest?
Just because the goalie whom have been stupendous for Milan's last season's push to the UCL finals having an average day and they wanna protest?
Just remember that Milan's pre-season training is focused on physical enhancement that is made to last throughout the 5 competitions which Milan is involved in. Give Milan a couple more matches and when they hit their potential RPM, their rate of acceleration will be faster than you can say "FORZA Milan!!!!"
Well...in the meantime its FORZA MILAN for me!! and to hell with those Milan perpertuators!

Appologies to the Curva while i direct my criticism on those non-curva pepertuators whom have got the nerve to boo our players. Shame!

"Happy birthday president! "
Curva invited all the fans to bring red and black flags to bring back the old folclor to the San Siro. Atmosphere was loud and very nice, I was plesently surprised. That is the way to suport Milan!
What is up with the ultras in CS and CN not displaying their banners on the stands
