I think my 2 picks would be former Inter players, Ronaldo (Milan) AND Yuri Djorkaeff (retired) 2 great players.

Shearer :proud:
he wins by default as i class Sheva and Ronaldo as strikers, not true centre forwards.

i think his question was more about football players whose main job is to score goals, so Shearer, Sheva and Ronaldo are all "in the game" for winning this poll.
I can't make a decission. If injuries didn't ruin his career and make him miss half of the last 10 years then Ronaldo would have been my choice.
This way i have around 10 players whose goal scoring record is amazing and it's impossibile to say who was the best.
In no particular order: Pippo Inzaghi, Andriy Shevchenko, Ronaldo, Gabriel Batistuta, Christian Vieri, David Trezeguet, Raul, Alan Shearer, Ruud Van Nistelrooy, Alessandro Del Piero, Thierry Henry and maybe even Samuel Eto'o, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Hernan Crespo.
I would say Pippo and Henry belong near the top if not the top along with the options given.
I'll throw out a name for an 'under rated' list: Morientes 374(141), Caps 47(27)

I think he was in his rime at Inter for sure, that guy was hitting 20-30 goal seasons, so far i dont know what hes got, because he has been injured, maybe him returning to Serie A will spark the ronaldo of years ago...lets hope so!

I'll do it. I think Martin Tyler has tackled that stat already...One thing I do know, Shearer was top scorer thrice, Henry 4 times. :)

true but excluding people this way made it easier for me to decide on 1 :D
That said, Shearers best years imho were his Blackburn years and then the first few at Newcastle. Most of these years are actually over a decade ago so really Shearer cant be counted either :( From 92-97 Shearer averaged over 30 a season and it would have been even more had he not had 2 ligament injuries
If i had to pick properly i could narrow it down to 3, Ruud, Henry and Vieri.

I have to admit vieri was good, but he had a crap attitude, thats why when he was at Inter, The fans liekd him, then they hated him, then they loved him again, he was a up and down player, i have to agree with Ronaldo though, he was great.
Vieri did everything for Inter. Everything. The treatment he got from the Inter fans tells you what a club Inter is.
Fact of the matter is that Vieri himself was bigger than Inter. And that bothered a couple of fans.
Funny enough, they loved Ronaldo. :D

Well the thing i see with Inter is they ahve a great club, its just that the fans are really stupid, and they hate some players for reasons beyond me, a perfect example Recoba, he didnt play that much, thats the reason he didnt score much, doesent mean they had to hate him, it wasnt his fault. Otherwise Vieri was a superb player.
As of roght now what i see in this thread, Ronaldo is a top favourite, and from what he has done in the many years he has played he deserves that.
Your post is out of order because as Tony said Ronaldo at Inter and Barcelona was magnificent before his injuiries, he was amazing remember the cup of European cup against Lazio.
I would choose Raul because of scoring and winning titles between the two regarding the injury of Ronaldo, Sheva...

Yes but all this greatness between Inter and barcelona happened within 10 years, and The only times i have seen him starting to struggle was when Cappello took over real madrid, and now at Milan, otherwise he is great, maybe not in the last 2-3 years, but that doesent mean he was one of the most influential players of the last 10 years.

I would say Raul because he's been there for R. Madrid through thick and thin, also his scoring ability is absolutely great, I remember that chelsea wanted him but he rejected them in order to stay for Madrid. So I admire his loyalty and he should be an example for youngsters who wanted to play football.
ronaldo in his prime. hands down. everything a striker should be.
Amen to that. Plus Sheva, also in his prime. His desire to learn new thing (like language) is a plus too :respect:
I would say it has been Ronaldo, he took his talent and used it to win many trophies, Alan Shearer for me is a legend, although i am biased as a Newcastle fan :P but yeah, Ronaldo then Shearer
Ronaldo was the best in the last decade in this one it was Sheva and maybe Ibra but he didnt have such an impact on football as Sheva did Adriano coul but fall toalcohol and the rising stars are Pato wery similar style of plat like Sheva maybe not so strong but faster and Bojan Krkic who is not yet seen because of the rest stars of Barca but that is his flaw
Van Nistelrooy. Ronaldo was useless in the Champions League so that has to count against him.
:rone: Ronaldo :rone:
Ronaldo's an Inter traitor (read "HERO")
Sheva's a Milan traitor (read "HOMO")
:D
