Who was the best forward in the last decade?

I`m talking about the last 10 years @ max,not van basten era or something like that for all you guys that get get confused easly

Allot of people say that r9 is (ronaldo ) but il have to go for sheva,i dunno sheva @ his best looked like a real forward for me..ronaldo always as a very good player,my english kinda sucks so dont know if you got my last sentence.

Anyway vote, cause i have a debate whit a friend and im curious of other people opinions

Oh and i`l put another option , if you don`t think this were the best.

I think my 2 picks would be former Inter players, Ronaldo (Milan) AND Yuri Djorkaeff (retired) 2 great players.

Shearer

he wins by default as i class Sheva and Ronaldo as strikers, not true centre forwards.

i think his question was more about football players whose main job is to score goals, so Shearer, Sheva and Ronaldo are all "in the game" for winning this poll.

I can't make a decission. If injuries didn't ruin his career and make him miss half of the last 10 years then Ronaldo would have been my choice.
This way i have around 10 players whose goal scoring record is amazing and it's impossibile to say who was the best.
In no particular order: Pippo Inzaghi, Andriy Shevchenko, Ronaldo, Gabriel Batistuta, Christian Vieri, David Trezeguet, Raul, Alan Shearer, Ruud Van Nistelrooy, Alessandro Del Piero, Thierry Henry and maybe even Samuel Eto'o, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Hernan Crespo.

I would say Pippo and Henry belong near the top if not the top along with the options given.
I'll throw out a name for an 'under rated' list: Morientes 374(141), Caps 47(27)

Tony29, I have a request for you. Post in this thread the total Premiership goals statistic between Alan Shearer and Thierry Henry.

I'll do it. I think Martin Tyler has tackled that stat already...One thing I do know, Shearer was top scorer thrice, Henry 4 times.

true but excluding people this way made it easier for me to decide on 1

That said, Shearers best years imho were his Blackburn years and then the first few at Newcastle. Most of these years are actually over a decade ago so really Shearer cant be counted either From 92-97 Shearer averaged over 30 a season and it would have been even more had he not had 2 ligament injuries

If i had to pick properly i could narrow it down to 3, Ruud, Henry and Vieri.
