milan are always making excuses why dont the media ask gourcuff and the rest of the bench of they are tired?

This team deserves every single thing that is coming to them right now, the injuries, the tiredness, the bad record, and the mission impossible that is beating Arsenal while not at full strength. Before Galliani and Berlusconi comes out and talk about how tired the players are, they need to take a step back and think about it first, why are they so tired? Did they not know that they will be playing a lot of games this season? Of course they did! They play a lot of games every year! Did they not know that there will be injuries to players? Every team has injuries, especially old teams! Did they not know that one player cannot play two games a week for a long period of time? Anyone working in the Milan lab could have told them that!

Since they knew exactly what is going to happen to these players, one would think that they should be prepared for events like this. The squad should have a lot more depth than the 13 player rotation they have right now. But for whatever reason, our management tried to outsmart everyone by being incredably cheap every single summer. This squad not only hasn't improved in depth and overall talent over the last few seasons, they have actually gotten worse in both areas over the last few years.

Who caused our players to be so tired? And who caused our records to suck this bad? Look no further than the lying bald bastards who are running this team right now. Yes, Galliani and Berlusconi single handedly caused all of this to happen. I hope we lose to Arsenal at home and gets eliminated from the CL and finish outside of fourth place in Serie A so the team don't qualify for next season's CL. That is the only way to teach Galliani and Berlusconi. More glory will only harm this team because the management can continue to bury their heads in the sand and think that the team is absolutely perfect as it is. Only a cold slap in the face and some serious financial issues can teach them that Milan should not be spending in the market like they are fighting for Serie B championship.

i agree with a lot of your points, but ancelotti also does not know how to rotate how can he have no faith in his whole bench, i dont hope we lose BUT the thing is your right if we make it to a semi or final then no changes will be made, we are also too cheap we need to spend more money.

Ancelotti is not perfect by any measurement, but I can't blame the rotation thing on him entirely. Looking at our bench, we simply don't have a whole lot of players who can step in and contribute. You mentioned Gourcuff in your post, but think about it, it is not that Ancelotti didn't give him opportunities over the last couple of years but he pretty much plays like crap every time he steps in. I loved his talent when we signed him but he is just not producing when given the opportunities for some reason. Ancelotti is not a good rotation coach, but with a bench this bad, I can't really blame him for not wanting to rotate players.

I think, it's mostly because we didn't plan well for this year. We already know from the beginning we would have soooooooo many matches but our management did 'nothing' with respect to signing players for bench.

I can't accept how Galliani blames that we have so many matches. We lack sub players. If he wants to blame, he should blame that condition.

I admire the boards bringing Milan in successful moments in CL but making an excuse of tiredness is unacceptable for me. If we had decent backups, we didnt need to play Pirlo, Kaka every single match.

It's funny how this statement comes out exactly when we are facing 2 of our biggest games this season, what else can it look like than a ready made excuse should we fail in either match!

I echo pretty much everything that's been said already. It's fine having players that are older, but it's pretty obvious when you have a schedule that'll see you playing every 3 days for 6/7 weeks or more that they'll become tired quicker and will be more prone to injuries. That's what happens with age. With a lack of younger/stronger players and no reinforcements bought, it's no wonder our squad is on the verge of breaking.

It's surely time for Galliani & Berlusconi to see how little faith Ancelotti has in some of the squad members, thus making the amount of players he chooses from even smaller. Despite what some members say, our squad has an inadequate amount of depth and quality. Galliani can't complain about tiredness when he (amongst others) said we needed no new reinforcements in January. His lack of forward planning could cost the team dearly and he'd have no one else to blame but himself. Lets face it, how difficult is it to look at the fixture list, see our hectic schedule, see the current state of the squad and determine how many new players we would need to be able to cope? It's not rocket science.

It really is time for an overhaul, take off the rose-tinted glasses and look at the squad objectively. If a player can't deliver over the course of a season then lets get someone who can.

If the likes of Kaka, Seedorf, Inzaghi are tired then why not the likes of Gourcoff, Emerson & Brocchi should be given a chance?? Till now I have not figured it out that whats the job of Emerson in ACM?? :rollani:

The problem is that some of the subs seem to not have the required level !!
Digao, Brocchi this year, the 2007-2008 Emerson, Cafu, Favalli, Simic, Serginho, these guys are fine but what do they still do in Milan ?!

And if we wanted them to be at the right level, Carlo should have put them on the pitch more often ... now it's too late, they will never be ready to play at this point of the season, because when they do 1 match, after 75 minutes, they are tired, and if you put them on the pitch 3 days later, they will get injuries, or will be able to play only 45 minutes, etc ...

So 2 mistakes: management with a not enough competitive team to play all the competitions we knew we were going to play (thanks to Catania, we didn't play more Italia Cup matches) ... and Ancelotti who made the same mstake this year that he did in 2005 (when we could have amazingly won all but lost all at the end).

I read the same posts i read one year ago before Celtic. We are in the same conditions as we were one year ago. Our condition can't peak right now, or we would fall short in one- two months' time. We are programmed to peak slowly in Spring, and this mean we can't be at our best now.

We must win against Arsenal despite not being in good conditions. This is the recipe and if we do that, our chances to reach Moscow will increase day after day.

But for sure, oneof the few reasons we are tired is that we simply lack freshness in our squad ( not first 11, squad ). Galliani knows it, but his lies are amusing if nothing.

We buy one 18 year lod boy and our whole squad goes up by 20%. With few players in the summer we would see flying Milan!

if our average squad age isnt 31, and we had a decent back up for pirlo, kaka and nesta we could rotate the squad. Look at Inter, lots of different options everywhere. Thats why they are 18+ ahead of us, well that and lots of dodgy ref decisions.

When will all the anti-Berlu rhetoric stop? Yes we underperformed this year, if winning the European Super Cup, and World Club Cup are considered as underperforming...

Yes 5th place in the league is not where we should be, but I mean really..is all the venom directed at the management team that made Milan what it is, necessary?

Many of us here would not be fans if it were not for Berlu, and his investments to turn the team around from a side yo-yoing in and out of Serie B, into the "winningest" european club of all time?

So we have a "down" year thus far...elimination at a stage many of you are unused to, so spoiled have you all become due to the millions Berlu have poured into the club...2 trophys, yet some here want to tar and feather management because we didnt spend huge in the transfer market, after a successfull previous season, with almost miraculous achievements, based on all that we faced....

No, cant join this cacaphony of derision for the people who have been so instrumental in our success to date...no not at all.

I am upset, dont get me wrong, in the lack of reinforcements brought into the club over the past 2 seasons....but not to the extent of most of the posters here...whose attitude, I confess, is becoming tiresome in the extreme.

All the raging against management should be muted, in light of some of the recent happenings in the English Premiere League, with clubs being aquired by businessmen intent only on making a dollar, (or a million or so), or those with questionable eithics and behaviour...(Abramovitch and the Man City dude)...further to that, is the financial implications of some of these "take overs"...with Man U for eg, being saddled with 300GBP of debt....in case you didnt know, Milan has been in the "black" for several years now...while Man U, the worlds richest club, or one of, has 300M pounds of debt to deal with....careful what u wish for...

Dare we wish that upon ourselves?...Or are any of you posters (those constantly deriding management), billionaires with a few loose hundreds of millions of dollars in your pockets, burning holes therein, who wish to buy another "toy"? If Berlu would even sell in the first place...

"This team deserves every single thing that is coming to them right now, the injuries, the tiredness, the bad record, and the mission impossible that is beating Arsenal while not at full strength"...what sort of ridiculous nonsense is this? How could players, (albeit very well paid ones) playing through the pain barrier in many instances, deserve to lose? Because of the inaction of their employers? Where is the logic in that?

Kindly engage the brain before ranting people. Thanks.

I totally agree with Warro and I have said this in the past in other posts. No team can keep winning and why should we constantly have a go at the management and players who have won us so much. Yeah of course I'm disappointed we didn't beat Arsenal but for the good of the club I think it's better we went out of the Champions League now. Realistically I never expected us to win it again this year. We've turned our attention to it too much and are slowly losing ground in the race for the fourth place. In all honesty that was our only chance of getting into the Champions League next year.
Football goes in cycles. Milan may be coming to the end of their cycle, they may just be having a bad season, but tell me any other team who would not be over the moon to win what we have won in the last 5 years?

My manager and about 20 other people slaughtered me today for being a Milan fan. My manager said to me,
"Oh that's the end of your season now, looks like you've had a bad one".
:rocky:
I said back to him "We must be a very good team then if winning the European Super Cup, the World Club Cup, and becoming the most successful team internationally is a bad season. Can you remind me how many trophies you can still win again this year?" :r14:
Now that may have been a little bit arrogant, but I support AC Milan and I'm not going to have some one take the mickey out of my team because we lost.
Yeah we've not been great this season and part of me is glad we lost because I think that going out of the Champions League now is going to force the managements hand to buy in the summer. BUT!!! Please lets not forget everything that we have won this season alone and everything we have won in the past. No team can stay at the top for ever and I know that some people will say that we shouldn't have been out of the race for the league by December. I agree, but the management made the decision that making Milan the most successful team in the World at club level was the priority. They did that so I say well done to them.

People criticise how we haven't spent much on transfers, but to be fair we've bought Kaka, Bonera, Pato and Gourcouf all good young players with a lot of potential. Some have been given more chances then others but if the players don't take their chances why should they be played if it means it might compromise our position.
Yeah in hindsight at times it wouldn't have made it any worse, but hindsight is a wonderful thing.

I'm sure people will be calling for Ancelotti's head now as well, but look at how well Milan played when he first joined and when the team was younger. We were great. We changed peoples expectations of Italian football and swept teams aside.

To summarise, yes I agree we need to invest in new players but please let us not lose sight of everything these players, the manager, scouts, vice president and president has achieved for the team and for the fans. I started supporting AC Milan in the mid to late 80's if someone had told me then that we would win everything we have won, I would have taken it straight away. Sometimes we get spoiled by what is achieved and then we expect more. I'm not saying this is wrong but we sometimes need to take a step back to put it into perspective.

I can see you are a huge Berlusconi lover who still lives in the past instead of the present. Berlusconi has had a great history managing this club, just as you said. But look at what happened to the team these past few years. We have been under performing for a number of seasons now and the main reason beyond that is because of lack of reinforcements from the market. And who is responsible for that again? Yeah! Berlusconi! I don't know what his reasons beyond the lack of spending is, but whatever it is, it is killing the team. This team was the best team in Europe five years ago and is now second rate in Serie A. Before last year's CL, we haven't won a trophy in like five years. How exactly is that one bad season? Even last year's CL was more of a miracle than a true testment of the squad's abilities.

You know what's funny about your post? The way you talk about Berlusconi like he is the standard of ethics. Who was responsible for the Calciopolli again? Last I checked, we got punished for that pretty badly, and as club owner, I have a hard time believing Berlusconi was not involved with the whole thing. So quit talking about him like he has done nothing wrong his entire life. Abramovic might have his problems, but Berlusconi is not clean either.

As far as my post talking about how deserving this team's fate is, I never said the players deserved it. I have always meant that management is deserving this fate for their lack of planning and spending. The players did their best, and it is not their fault that their best isn't good enough. The management is supposed to bring in good players to make this team top notch but they failed miserably at what they do. They put all their faith in luck and eventually paid for it.

Believe it or not, I understand why you like Berlusconi. He was a great leader, a great president and brought a lot of success to this team. I cannot and will not deny his accomplishments while he was here. The problem is that we cannot always live in the past. His performance in recent years, along with Galliani has been awful to say the least. I don't know why he has been this bad at his managerial duties and frankly speaking, I don't care to know. All I am concerned is for this team to be on top of the world. A team can have some down times for the sake of rebuilding, but this team is not even going through a rebuilding process. For a team to be successful, every part of the organization has to work toward one goal and contribute. From the management, coaches, players and staff, everyone has to do their part for the team to be successful. And our management that has brought us so much glory in the past has dropped the ball big time. A lot of the posters aren't here just to bash them but rather being frustrated with all the mistakes this management has been making each and every year. Berlusconi might be the iwnnigest president ever, but if he continue to do what he is doing right now, he deserves to be replaced.

So he had nothing to do with it? He knew nothing about what was going on? I didn't say he was the guy who made it all happen but to say he was not involved at all is pure ignorance. Milan was punsihed because they were involved and that's why we had that point deduction thing. We don't have to be in the Serie B to be involved in the whole scandal.

And by the way, you are not the king of the world here so stop making demands or suggestions as to what people can or should do. If you don't like reading what people write, feel free to look away. I am getting sick and tired of your "I know more than everyone else" attitude here.

First of all, European supercup and world championship are meaningless championships. Playing a combined of three games against some low level clubs from somewhere isn't exactly worth bragging. As for the CL, that had more to do with luck than anything else. A lot of good teams were knocked out of the earlier rounds and we ended up facing Liverpool, who didn't have enough striking force to really be a great team.

And why would you compare this team to Leeds United? They are two compltely different situations. This team should be compared to Real Madrid, Man Utd, Barcelona and Bayern Munich instead of some low leve clubs. While those teams win trophy practically every other year, we won 1 in five years. How is that for a comparison? And here is a real kick in the head, those teams didn't bankrupt themselves and end up getting relegated! If they can manage to win games and balance their books, why can't we? The mere fact that we have one of the highest salary bill proves exactly what's wrong with the management, they are giving out free handouts to players who don't deserve them.

And finally, this forum is for discussions, not personal attacks. You have got to stop your finger pointing because it is really starting to irritate me. You are calling me a 2.75 years old when you are the one who has to get the last word in on every single argument? We are all here to share our opinions on the state of the team, and nothing else.

i just started watching football in 2004, so my history isnt that good, however what brought me to become milanista, is not the trophies. Its the integrity, loyalty, and utmost class milan possesess more than any other football club in the world.

you would blame costacurta being on our roster until he was 40 as a reason we are failures, but I disagree, and say that is why Milan is the best.

It appears to me, that if you love the constant flux and chaos of buying the "hottest" player in the market every year, then inter/chelsea/RM are better suited for your tastes. Entering Milan as a player is like being adopted, they will take care of you, its rather unique how management relates to their players. they wont just go buy the best player out there, they also look at the person, which i believe is a major contributing factor in their success.

sure its about time cafu, serginho, maldini, ect move on...however, milan affords its players to leave with grace and class. In the end, its not just about the money and the trophys.
