Bayern Munich have already reached an agreement with AC Milan midfielder Gennaro Gattuso, according to reports.

The Italy international has been targeted by the Bundesliga club to boost their team for an assault on the Champions League next season while striker Luca Toni has repeatedly stated he would welcome a compatriot in the Bayern team next season.

According to Italy's Italia 1 television, the Bavarians have been able to convince the 30-year-old to join with a lucrative contract offer and are now set for talks with his club over a fee.

Earlier this week, Bayern president Franz Beckenbauer claimed Gattuso would be "perfect" for Bayern.

How stupid we are if he really goes.

Where did you read it?
Why?Because of Flamini's Arrival?

Moving from Milan to his EPL or SPL dream league might be understandable, but from Milan to Bayern? Why, Rino?

Another star who decides to 'jump ship' when Milan is sinking? So much so remind me of Shevchenko... isn't playing in UEFA cup as bad as being penalized for Caciopoli?

we can't call everybody a traitor just for deciding to leave... good luck to Rino if he goes away.

And more than likely, we have all seen the last of the following names on a Milan jersey, as I doubt they will play the next match (last of the season):

1.- Dida
2.- Cafu'
5.- Emerson
8.- Gattuso
11.- Gilardino
17.- Simic
20.- Gourcuff
29.- Fiori

a little note for you Beckenbauer :

Gattuso may leaves this club as long as the likes of Ribery, Lahm and Toni all together will exchange for him. otherwise put away your Mount Blanc pen to have Rino's signature. or we will have a great fight here :swars:

lol NO ^^ i admited that those 2 names which you suggested are very tempting. specially for Kroos. his performace against Cottbus last year was awesome. but i won't let our squad full by toddlers like Arsenal. because toddlers won't lead you to the Europe glory. 3 toddlers in squad are enough. the likes of age 23-29 is likely. but i will keep those 2 names that u suggested for lets say 6 years again. who knows.. probably for the exchange of Pirlo or Max :tong:

I've heard about Kroos from some of my friends. They value Kroos highly, and in CM08, His profile is excellent.

Is he that good?

If any of you remember me from when I first became a member here you may have found that I have made only about 12-odd posts in the last 3 years. I just read...and enjoy...I don't write.

But this is a topic I MUST write my true feelings about. I hope that the media is full of crap but I fear that what www.goal.com writes (due to my past with the website) is true. I will be CRUSHED if Gattuso leaves or is let go as would be the case given his contract expiration in 2011.

Galliani recently announced that we would never sell Gattuso but the fact remains that in the 14 years I have supported this club we have never held on to a player that has wanted to leave. If Gattuso wants to join his buddy Toni in Bayern because (in Cannavaro's words) he has won everything and needs new motivations...he may well be on his way. I would graciously accept the move and wish Rino all the best but I would be emotionally DISTRAUGHT because I think Rino means so much to the team and has soooooo much still to offer include leading the team post-Ambrosini.

PLEASE DON'T LEAVE GATTUSO....is there a website we can start a petition on?

The guy's an animal, one you would hate to play against but would love to have on your team. I love the energy he brings to every match.

But Milan needs well-rounded midfielders for Carlo's system to thrive. Flamini is defintely one of those players.

If the report is true, take care Rino, and good luck in your new adventure.

Somebody on another thread suggested that perhaps the reason why Rino wants to move is because he's disappointed of the poor mercato the cub has been doing. Ever since the rumour spread he himself never gave a comment about it, all that we read came fro either his agent or Galliani. So let's wait for the official news.

Personally I hope he stays

Being disapointed in how management not buy any players and you not playing your hearts out on the field doesn't make any connection from a professional footballer point of view, but I can see how the former affects the latter psychologically.

So, only Gattuso can be dissapointed with Mercato and then leave the club?

He is not skillfull like Kaka or incredible like Maldini. If he wants to go, let him go. For me, he is not Gattuso years ago. He is 'useless' without his old spirit!

I never saw Rino not playing his heart out. But if his physical condition hampers him from doing so, then that's another thing. He always gives 100%, that's why he yelled at Dida in Tokyo, cos a fighter like him doesn't expect anything less than 100% from his team mates, and also from the club.

Just like Pirlo and Max, he's overused this season. The arrival of Flamini should help solve this problem, but perhaps he was already disappointed.

I said perhaps because he never gave a comment about this issue. Everything that we read came from his agent and Galliani. Let's wait for the official news before going further in this discussion

I knew, in the end Gennaro will decide to stay!!!

Good news my rossoneri friends!:)

Now we need il grande mercato, with Drogba, Ronaldinho, Hernanes, Zambrotta, Zapata, Vargas, Lloris coming, along with Flamini = Scudetto

Gattuso commits to Milan
Monday 19 May, 2008

Gennaro Gattuso has ended speculation about his future by deciding to remain at Milan. "I'll finish my career here."

The pugnacious midfielder had been tipped for a move to Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Tottenham or Newcastle this summer as Milan look to revamp their squad after failing to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

While it was widely suggested that the arrival of Arsenal’s Mathieu Flamini would signal the end of the road for Rino, a long meeting with Vice-President Adriano Galliani and agent Andrea D’Amico today seems to have cured his wanderlust.

“We are friends like we were before and I will stay here for another three years,” Gattuso told journalists. “I will finish my career here.”

Gattuso is under contract with the Diavolo until 2011 and has reportedly received assurances from Galliani that he is still seen as an integral part of Carlo Ancelotti’s side for next season.

Milan’s ambitious transfer plans for the summer must have been hit hard by missing out on Champions League football and Gattuso’s decision may have been influenced by the reduced chance of further midfield additions.

Gattuso was almost one our legends: now it's clear, he'll be one of our legends !!

What a surprise, we all were afraid by the news that was going to come, and finally, we have Gattuso 3 more years !! Yeah !!
(Pirlo-Gattuso-Flamini-Ambro is perfect !!)

He stays now, nothing added value to Milan. I dont think its good news (or also bad news). It's normal condition for Milan.

If Gattuso doesn't give his old spirit next season, he will be our bench. Ambro and Flamini will be our starting line-up if Gattuso plays next year like he's done this year.Yeah, it'd be good to have Rino as substitute (much better than brochi :D).

I hope he will stay.. Even he isn't as good as a few years ago anymore, he's still a key player to us.. He is better than Brochi as a substitute, anyway...

SANT

Gattuso is not, and will not be a sub... not yet... he still has a lot of gas... and it's not like he was terrible this year... he was his usual self... but his job is like that, dark when the team doesn't play well, and shiny when others shine... if Kaka'-Seedorf etc. had been as good as the previous years, Gattuso's dirty work would be more recognized...

Jeff
19-05-2008, 22:21
He cannot be a sub. like Kaka` said, we need 20 champions.
Having Flamini in but Gattuso out makes no sense. Glad that he is staying!

well gattuso was the first to welcome emerson saying that emerson is welcome to take off some burden, i believe with the proper squad a balanced rotation system is really appreciated

lol.. Beckenbauer read my post before and he's afraid to exchange Rino with Lahm,Toni and Ribery (i was going to add Kroos on the list if Franz insists to get Rino). lol.. joking. i know that Rino will not going to leaves Milan specially now is the hard time for Milan. i love Rino because of this value. many young and talented players could be replaces him any times but no one can add the value like Rino has. good news Rino !
