Asking for any money scared off Milan.

sokratis medical delayed untill monday. I see this deal collapsing with this totally incompetent management.

Well, I read it wasn't postponed, that the medical was initially scheduled for Monday.

damn this summer is rather dull in terms of transfers.

i thought Alegri was really gonna give us a face lift. I mean the players we are rumored to sing are decent quality (comparing to signing noone , but we could be heading towards mid table.

and where is our promised big star signing?

Well time will tell. I love having a young player to actually have some hope in.

I wouldn't think berlusconi would have a problem with Socratis as he did with with Cissokho the entire point was that Milan was spending a sizeable amount of cash on a entirely unknown player with socratis according to reports he will come to milan on a loan deal he will be established quantity i am sure even berlusconi knows who is and has seen him play before.

so he did his medical today???
then i guess it's done now?
is it?
is it????????

Is it only me or is that a reallyyyyyyyyyyy cheap price for this player? I used to wait for Ghana matches to watch Kwadwo Asamoah, but i think Boateng did even better & 5-6Mio pounds is an excellent deal in my book.....i even think we can get that from the sale of Gattuso!!!

he's 23 man!!! players like Nesta, Pirlo & Ambrosini can teach him some manners.
but, ironically, the player whom he prevented from playing the WC (and did Germany a huge favor in the process) Michael Ballack or Mark Van Bommel who are 30+ yr olds are my top 2 pricks

In recent years, young players are becoming less interested as footballers and more interested in leading a flash celebrity lifestyle. My personal feelings are Di Gennaro, whilst a big talent, lacks the motivation to really break through and reach his potential. I also believe that's one reason (not the only reason though) Borriello hasn't ever been as good as he could have been (you just need to look at his touches during matches to see he has talent).

The names you mentioned there aren't massive names on par with Ronaldo and Kaka, but these guys are a massive demand. Dzeko's one of the most sought after players in the world and the asking price is as much as what Barca apparently want for Ibra.

Honda and Van Der Wiel are also wanted by many clubs and their prices have risen a lot during the world cup. Both are good players and could play an important part in Milan, but let's face it, we're not in a state to compete financially against many clubs.

However, we shouldn't be disheartened with names like Jucilei and Papastathopoulos (I think I might just refer to him as Sokratis lol). These guys are at a good age to come into our squad and mature into important players, and whilst not well known right now, are quite evidently talented. Very much like Pirlo, Gattuso, Kaladze and Kaka (to name just a few), these guys could grow into the stars we desire.

Every squad needs star players that can elevate the team in hard times, but in the current football environment, every squad must be complete.

Sokratis is also capable of pushing forward down the right as he has decent ball control and likes to drive forward (a bit like Thiago Silva).

Robinho as a replacement for Dinho makes a lot of sense. One is past his peak and ageing, and while he can play an important role as an individual, his lack of mobility and defensive effort is a problem for the team.

Robinho has shown he follows instructions to help out defensively and has impressed a lot this year in Santos and for Brazil, with both his movement, ability to run at opponents and goals. At 26, he could play for Milan for another few seasons at the very top, by which time hopefully Verdi will be ready to take a step into the first team.

I understand what you're saying and I agree to some extent. However, We need a game changer, and whether its Drogba, Robinho,Dzeko or Honda, I don't care... I know we supposedly don't have money, although I'd love for someone to explain "HOW" we're broke after selling Sheva and Kaka...and buying virtually no one... wining the Club World Club just 4 years ago...

We don't have a "Barcelona" type youth system so if we want to get back to our best, we need some better players than we have. I think we could all agree to that...

As Robinho goes, I dont think we should swap ROnaldinho for Robinho...both like to party and have had problems with teams in the past. They are the same player.,,and they do not adapt to many systems besides the 4-3-3...

I'd much rather prefer a 4-3-1-2

----------------------Amelia/Abbiati---------------
----Sokratis----Nesta-----T. Silva------Coentrao/Antonini
------------Flamini--------Pirlo-----Ambrosini------

When Cappello was the coach at Juve they oftenly played 4-3-3 with Trez-Ibra and Del Piero I think...

Ibra-Dzeko and Pato could do that also

Seriousely, we really need to sell players we dont need, but noone wants to buy players with absurde wages who are in decline. which is normal of course, except when Galliani is buying...

Sokratis is just a normal serie a player that will not add anything big to this team. But maybe Berlusconi likes Socrat, so he sees Sokratis as a "star" signing... old people are strange...

There is talk about Maxwell as apparently Adriano from Sevilla will go to Barca, fine by me. Also Lazzarri for Rino.

If Milan were saving all this money to buy their own Stadium then I'd understand and I'd be happy. Actually ecstatic. San Siro is obviously beautiful but a new modern stadium, with new revenues would be great for the future.

As far as the Mercato goes, I think we need 2 more signings besides Sokratis for fans to be even remotely satisfied. If not, 2011 better be a rebuilding year. 2-3 signings (40 million) plus some young kids in Primavera to slowly transition the team younger would be good...but at least we need to see something....

btw Ibra/Dzeko would never ever ever happen... if you get even 1 of those guys i think we'd all be ridiculously surprised... if we get Fucile, and Honda, along with Sokratis, Yepes, and Amelia, I think that's a successful mercato for our standards as of late...

problem is... do we keep ronaldinho or not..our whole system depends on whether Allegri wants him or not.. he's not a forward, yet he doesnt want to play defense.. so he only fits in 4-3-3...Allegri doesnt like that system from what i've been told..so we'll see...

interesting....
