Does anyone have any information on Il Barone. He sounds like an interesting guy. How did he become leader. He does a great job because the curva always seems to be rocking.

Il Barone aka Giancarlo Capelli, was one of the founder of Commandos tigre in 1968.

He was one of the Board of Ultras movement, and in our End there were Torcida (now in the second green, the opposite part of the stadium) , Fossa dei leoni, Commandos itself and few years later BRN were founded.

The relationships between the groups weren't the best (and still now there's competition) and the Torcida was sent in the opposite end, while Commandos were sent to first blue tier..Curva is second blue tier, for those who ignore it.

So, when the Commandos were sent away, Il Barone, already one of the organisers, stayed in the Curva Board..
ASAIK he's the representer of all Ultras but he's not the highest chief, i've heard there's a guy who's the chief of all, but differently from il Barone he doesn't get the spotlight, but organises from behind, while Il Barone is the responsible and link between the supporters and the society, so he gets the tickets, the finances for coreo, and has care of the Ultras world.

The society needs a man with his qualities after all.. many can ask why..The answer is simple: Ultras create atmosphere, atmophere attracts crowd to games..high attendance invites advertisements and sponsors...sponsors bring moneys.
and apart from moneys, Milan has alwyas had care of image, and an empty stadium is the negation of this politic.

He lives with this, must get some moneys and privileges from society, and probbly he's employed in some ways.

LA VIOLENZA

Come abbiamo già scritto, noi non siamo mai aggressivi per principio: ci piace seguire il MILAN OVUNQUE e ciò ci espone a rischi da cui non possiamo sottrarci e, in questo caso, difendersi con tutte le proprie forze diventa una necessità.

Mai le BRN hanno aggredito persone inermi mai hanno sfasciato automobili e negozi nelle città che ci ospitavano, mai infine abbiamo coinvolto alcuno in episodi che non erano giustificati da azioni ben precise.


As we wrote previously, we aren't programmatically aggressive: we like to seek Milan team everywhere and this obviously exposes us to dangers, and when we can't avoid these situations, defending us becomes inevitable.

Never BRN have used violence to deliberately damage people, nor smashed cars and shops in the cities that hosted us, never we've involved anyone into situations that weren't in some ways justified in relation to the circustamces.

I have always wanted to know what fans Milan Ultras have good relationships with or bad relationships with and the reasons for this.

Ok good realtionships I know exist with Bresica and Inter.
Bad with juve, roma, samp, genoa, liverno

What are the reasons for these relationships?

Inter? There's a pact in order to avoid fights during derbies but we'd be total clowns if we had good relationships with them

Inter I meant there is no fights with them.
Hellas Verona I knew i was forgetting someone. They cost us two league titles didnt they. They used always remind us when we went to the Bentigodi. We had a big problem winning there.
Last i heard they were struggling in Serie B

wow this is pretty amazing stuff, I hope some of them are able to get to the states if Milan is to do the tour again like they did last year . . . . likewise american football has the same intense atmosphere, some teams have more organization then others, and we are not allowed to shoot off flares durring games, but it is pretty intense. I have never been to a game in Europe so it is hard to compare, this sounds really cool though, I saw the video of the Udinese game . . . and the flares going off behind the goals must have made for a crazy atmosphere . . . I take it the groups that form the curva started as fan clubs?

Was very interesting stuff. I've since some years season tickets for the games, in the 2nd ring red. I was thinking about buying once two season tickets for the 2nd ring green, would that be ok for those guys to realise that there are some new faces there ? Or would it anyway be impossible to by season tickets for the curva ?

milan ultras are one of the most exciting fans in italy. their coreiography defently creats amazing atmosphire in san siro.
ultras clubs in the world are getting bigger and bigger. even is israe (where i live) we have small ultras groups the poping. im a member of ultras 96 of maccabi tel aviv in israel. as a big milan fan, i take alot of ideas from the fossa and the brigata and do them in our stadium.
when i come to milano and sit in the curva sud, it is another world as you say.
for me, every visit is a dream come true. to sit among the most fanatics milan fans, to sing the songs (theres no one that dare not to sing), to take action with the coreiography.
