i don;t think Man U give so much space as milan created space....the slick passing openned up alot of option for us and i enjoyed every minute of it. The problem was no one closed down seedorf enough....he for me was crucial...he defended with all and was involved in almost every play. His game was excellent especially in the second half....whenever Manu pushed foward...after he made his first tackle, he covered which ever of the 2 centre halves ( maldini or nesta ) pushed up to make the second...he was playing total football and one of the reasons why i think he is integral in milan's success. If Manu does not find an answer to try and stop him and pirlo while trying to contend with kaka and crespo...well it might be a long night for then in the second leg

Franco, the tie is not over yet. Remember anything is possible, but we must be positive and take our chances. We'll go into the second leg as underdogs so that might work in our favour too.Hopefully we've learned what doesn't work against an orchestrated defense like Milans. I think we'll play a 4-4-2 with Ruud and Rooney up top next game; hopefully it'll open up the wings more for Ronaldo and Giggs, who was seemingly absent last game.

the one thing i learned about depor last year is never ever ever assume a tie is won until the b****** in black() blows his whistle, so however pleased i am about winning in ot i'm not going to start singing, also man u did create chances yesterday, plus they'll have a fully fit ruud, and that is something to be scared of

Ronaldo was trying to hard and he infairly got subbed off, Giggsy had a real off-day. I don't thik Kakhaber Kaldze and Cafu did anything special. Cafu was really good when Milan was attacking but Kaladze? no
I think he's somewhat overrated.

Come on.........its not like the defence was rubbish. Milan scored from a parried shot.

you've got to be kidding, the way Kaka jumped with his feet together

and that was the first thing Caroll had to save, nearly 80 minutes into the match anyway, the most embarrassed defender should be Nesta who somehow got nutmegged by Quinton Fortune

Edit: just noticed you had "Butt" on the list, he's neither a defender or a Utd player, we sold him nearly a year ago

Stez,

You were supposed to go and hide in a cave before the tie. You returned so quickly! The cave must not have had central heating with all this snow fall and stuff!

I couldnt resist

As you know i hadnt predicted a Utd win for the first leg anyway, but the nature of the defeat annoyed me Milan controlled play to a large extent but hadnt really threatened until Caroll made such a mess of that shot

look at the way Kaka jumped with his legs together, thats not a natural reaction to the angle Heinze came in from

I havent seen anything much written about him being megged by Fortune, i think its largely a forgotten incident. The media focus was on Scholes missing a chance he scores 99% of the time

Oh, he got booked for trying to decapitate Giggs too

Rooney didnt get much of the ball but as a lone striker against 2 of the best centre backs in the game thats to be expected. If you want to know how worried they were by him you only need to look at Fortunes chance though, Rooney made the run and dragged BOTH centre backs out of position.

They were so worried about Rooney they completely ignored Fortune sprinting through a big hole in the middle, well, either that or they knew Fortune was going to miss
