our problem in defence
hello everyone, as a milan lover, i still cannot forget what was happening last night.
i think there is some thing that it is common this year and last year. in the first half of the season , we are proud of our defence line,(may be it is the top of the world) but at the end of the season , we are suffer from losing for no reason! just think of last year 4:0 and this year "black 6 mins" i don;t know it is our stamia problem or our tactics problem, we cannot defence any team that have a strong will to win like PSV, liverpool. our defence line just like a junior level players, you cannot image we can lost 3,4 goal in a match when we are in the first half of the season. just like we face barcelona in the group match, we defence well.... if it is stamia problem ,may be ancelotti is too believe in milan lab and the experience of the players so that our defence line is always the "famous four" can you see the face of simic or kalazde in important or not important match if the "famous four " have no injury? if it is tactics problem, we need to deep think of how to prevent such nightmare happen again, pirlo is the leader of the offence but he is not good at organize the defence, if he cannot move back to the defence line, our defeners need to face the forwards directly, which is dangerous. so something need to be change in our tactics.... may be we can train kaka as the new offence leader ? sorry for my poor english , but i wish to see what other people view in our defence line, just buy new players cannot slove the problem, because i think it is the tactics problem more than the players problem. P.S. i find some information about how ancelotti loss in an unbelieveable ways... as juventus coach 98-99 leadiug Man Utd 2:0 loss in 2:3 in final 99-00 leading lazio for 9 marks , loss the last match and the seria A title Champion leagus final 0:4 lost as milan coach 01-02Uefa cup 0:4loss the dortmoud 02-03leading juventus for 8 marks, finally lost the seria A title 03-04toyota cpu 1:0leading , but 2:1 loss after 90 mins italian cup 0:4loss the lazio 4:1leading Deportivo La Coruņa in first phase 0:4 loss in second phase 04-05 seria A , loss to juventus italian cpu 1:4 udiness Champion leagus 1:3 loss to PSV , nearly to be kicked in champion league final 3:0 leading but we are the losser in final. ![]() Last edited by alt51; 26-05-2005 at 14:41. |

i dont think he was our coach vs dortmund... i think it was zac ... but yeah its not a pretty record but u cannot foget what he also won... we have to learn to accept defeats, we cant always win everything, if we win the double next season it would be even sweeter... over the past few years no one has acheived the winning pattern milan has

yes Carlo was already coaching Milan vs Dortmund but I agree that we have won a lot with him at the helm and I believe we can win a lot more if he stays.

Things happen, we just have to deal with it and look for best solution. Currently, Carlo Ancelotti staying with us is still the best option. Let's have hope that we will come back next season.

I don't agree that its a stamina or tactical problem, I think its mental. I can't be bothered to explain it all again though

what i'm thinking is kinda hard to explain or put into logical sentences
![]() ok, so i believe that milan wanted to play in the second half, as they did in the first-to score goals. this lead to their defense breaking down, because they were more focussed on scoring than defending what they had already achieved, and defending what liverpool was capable of (obviously 3 goals!!!). i believe this may have been a tactic error....but it ended up being a total mental collapse by the end of the match.

maybe it's to much professionalism?
I know that sounds odd but our back 4 are so amazing with playing with their heads they struggle to play with their hearts, I don't know, but maybe we need some players in there who feel like they have something to prove. between them they had multiple scudetto's and other league championship medals, 2 world cups, 6 CL medals they look determined but lacked. Even Gattuso lacked something on wednesday. Ironically the two with the least amount of silverware, Kaka and Crespo, where the shining lights.

I'm not saying this because of the loss. But i think stam wasn't such a good idea. if we got a young good deffender to sit on the bench and learn from maldini and nesta instead of tinckering with the maldini nesta partnership. i think the kaladze-maldini-nesta-cafu partnership is alot better. I can't seem to understand why stam struggles when the ball is crossed into our area?? If i was the coach i would bench stam next season. we didn't need him in the first place so why did we get him? I don't think we bought him to be maldini's replacement when he retires cuz i think stam will retire before maldini. i think we should have got someone like chivu or alex someone young and good.

exactly ... this team has won everything so quickly that they dont seem hungy to prove themselves to the world anymore... at liverpool carragher plays his heart out to show his worth and maybe to gain an england spot in the WC next season (like gattuso 2 seasons ago) ... same goes for gerrard, he played his heart out to find his destiny and to show that hes their real leader ... milan has won everything and more... before yesterday none of the liverpool players had won the CL (not even to the final i tihnk) ... i miss the way gattuso used to run to pump up our crowd, and the way he used to run the field up and down to get the ball... he resembles this teams determination and when hes not determined we seem to be out of heart, im not sure i want that kind of captain when maldini retires ![]() |
