reports suggest that cicnho's contract is soon to expire so I guess Milan would try waiting it out and then signing him, if they are at all interested in him, that is. Not sure how trustworthy these reports are, though.

Zlatanov, this article suggest otherwise:

-------------------------------------------------------------

If he did sign an extension, his new contract runs through 2008. And now his clause is 12M dollars. Betis is after him.

damn his contract expires in 2006! if the club wanted money for him, they'd sell him now.. and i dont understand portugese, but im guessing that Porto and Sao Paolo are after him (isnt he in sao paolo?).. and he is valued around $6-12m ..thats a pretty good price.. i hope Braida knows about this

what the article says is that Cicinho has been offered a new contract till 31st of Dec, 2008, which will substitute his current contract due to expire in 2006. The buy-out clause for non-Brazilian teams of the new contract would be set at $12 mil US, while now it is $6 mil US.
This new contract, however, is still under negotiations, from what I understand. So, if Milan are really keen on him, they could you know ... "talk" to Cicinho not to sign it.

which means that cicinho could have accepted the contract extension or he could have rejected it. It doesn't mean anything conclusive ...

Sure, but the article suggests that there were no problems in the negotiations, and that Cicinho told his teammates that he was going to extend his contract.

hes strong, hes like a rock... hes not really fast but i think he reads the game well and positions himself well... he has no good skill on the ball but thats something unusual to players with his characteristics... if liverpool do get him theylle have a really good choices at CB, actually if i were benitez i wouldve gone for a classy CB in the maldini mold the because i find hyypia, carragher and milito all similar

milito is a BUM...he played against mexico in the confed cup and was trash...the only CB from argentina who is still worth getting is W. Samuel

maldini is no way a classy CB...definitely a classy LB, i agree with that!!

Ayala has already played for us and was a miserable flop.
