juves is far more balanced as they play a straight forward 4-4-2 to start with.

its alot more difficult for our team to find that balance as we play with 3 midfielders centrally.

i think the KEY for US this season is how we defend as unit.

if ancelotti has a master stroke that enables us to defend as a successful unit (as well as attacking as of normal) to grind out 1-0 wins then we may, just may beat everyone next season becasue going forward we can be as good as any of the other teams out there.

Fact is, WE DONT USE THAT FORMATION

Gattuso is the main defensive man in midfield and if we bought a "brick wall" we'd have to play him at RMC. Pirlo's abilities is too great to not use as DMC so only Gattuso has the stamina to back him up.

And if we wanted to have this "brick wall", we have MASSIMO AMBROSINI. I honestly believe this dude has what it takes to be the best in the world and should be rotated more often with Gattuso.

Please, them signing Vieira was to improve their STARTING midfield. We didnt need to (and some say Seedorf needs competition, ha! we got Jankulovski). Honestly, their isnt much to do to improve our squad that we arent doing already.

Cafu is still doing great and guess what, we are eyeing Cicinho to back him up.

Pirlo? Fabio Simplicio will come as his backup.

Our ageing defense? Maldini Sr has already scouted the world for potential.

Dont worry about Juve's "improvement". Of course it is significant but you are all talking as if Milan have turned into Atalanta or Brescia or something.

NO. We have improved ourselves as well.

Forza Milan.
where did u hear that simplicio will come?

back to the subject, juve may look stronger on paper but we dont need to sign any big stars to look better... all we need is to get the old kaka once more and i have a feeling he will be back, to make seedorf move more often and regain his form, to help gattuso find his old determination he missed last season... what we need is the midfield of 2 seasons ago and were favorites for everything for next year IMO

Sigh Jani. Reading your post only reminds me of why I hate you so much

About Juve's creativity problem .... Capello might try using the 3 upfront system... He did use it back in the Roma days too, and I liked how they played back then. Backed up with Vieira in midfield to partner Emerson and have our defense somewhat "covered" with the arrival of Kovac and Chiellini, I hope Juventus wont disappoint.

Both Milan & Juve have done well in their transfers I think.

Dont worry bout Pizarro and Inter... a quote once said, "good players go to Inter to die"

I would've loved to get Pizarro instead though ...

Gattuso is too one-dimensional to be playing every game..we should get a better midfielder to play in his position, atleast someone who can make a decent pass and shoot at the net once in a while. I love Gattuso, but he should be playing against lesser opponents or coming on at the end of games to give us an energie boost or to defend a lead..that's all.

talking about Viera being unproven in italy is rubbish, with viera on Juve's side their midfield will be more stronger than last season, Juventus will be more threat to us again.i hope we will overcome them

While Vieira will add clout to the Juventus mid-field I am FAR FROM shaking in my boots so to speak. Nedved has shown a steady decline since his Golden Ball year and last year was plagued with slumps and injuries. Emerson's future is still in doubt and he was on and off his game but over-all a good boost to the Juve mid-field. Camoranesi was probably the bright spot for Juve last season only because it was his most consistent in a long time. Vieira..who knows .. as someone said..he has yet to prove himself.
Juve still have problems they failed to address thus far including an off more than ON his game Del Piero who can be a liability at times. A lack of depth on the bench and a defense relying on Cannavaro more than anyone.
I am not worried...I still maintain that Juve was not the better team last season and will be plagued with some of the same problems next year.

I am not worried, but Nedved-Emerson-Viera-Camoranesi is a mighty fine midfield. I with Trez and Zlatan up front they look like a very competitive team. At the end of the the day, we have a team that can beat that team without luck. It won't be easy, but winning against a formidable opponent is sweeter than beating crap.

IMO, Juve will be the biggest rival for milan next season in italian or european competition beside barcelona

Their midfielder are the best now !!

barca :
deco----van bommel-----xavi

plus Dinho and giuly as side attacking midfielders

juve :

nedved----vieira----emerson----camoranesi

They have a wall, but we have a battering ram of an attack finally

Seriously though, I knew this season would be hard with Inter actually improving on the previous season and Juve bringing in some shrewd signings which they always do. Winning either the Seria A or the CL would be a great achiement this season.

In my opinion both Milan and Juve improved on positions they were already strong in. I think by signing Gilardino and Viera, both Milan and Juve fulfilled dream signings, as both have been rumoured for a long time.

As much as it pains me to say it, I think it is advantage Juve so far in the transfer market. Kovac, Chelini, Micoli and Viera all represent signifigant signings and improve their depth, a sore spot from last season.

However, I think if Milan are successful in acquiring another solid defender, we would fulfill all the areas that need improvements from last year.

After all, Milan did finish behind Juve and therefore should strive to do a little better in the market

i think zlatan will have another wonderful year... he has more solutions on the ball than kaka does and his position is much easier for him to maintain his good play

nope.

Like Kaká's secret weapon of 03/04 was his speed, Zlatan's first season relied mainly on his strenght.

Teams would now send two people to mark him and most probably leave Trez some space.

Lets wait and see how he copes
