Milan Mania needs your help

I guess paypal is basically credit card with the additional signup. I can add a contribute page with a link to the paypal account and if its necessary look into a bank account too.

Debs, Rezag I would also like to step up with a contribution for the site. The MM forums have been an enjoyable way to keep track of Milans progress, and news, plus the supporters and freinds that are all here. If you will provide an account to direct wire funs, or paypal? Provide the pathway, and we will follow with Aid.

Plus if eveyone just sends $2.00 dollars, Euro's, pounds that visit the site, I would think that MM would be finianced for a considerable time? Just a thought for those whom have little finiances available, even the smallest amounts can go a long way. I takes a village to build a city.......

PayPal to me seems the easiest, tho I know that it's not available in all the countries represented on these forums. But I'd like to encourage people to try to set up such an account b/c then you do not have to worry about funds being lost in the mail! What I am currently trying to nail down, even for myself, is who's going to collect the payments. Andrew has been our server contact and the man who does the payments. Rez? Any idea at all if he's still doing that for us? At any rate, just hang tight till we have an actual answer on that, and we'll let you know.

In the meantime, Rez, yeah a link would be good. And let me say this--I don't like to post anyone's email addresses publically since it only invites spammers to gather them, so all contact info will be given by PM.

Hey, if enough of us can do that it won't be such a burden or a worry!

I just thought I should post this for all of you, some may be obvious but I think an explanation here is the least we can do.

The search for a cheaper, suitable alternative will be ongoing, including looking at the links suggested by you guys. There are the usual considerations such as speed, security, and having a server with a solid operating system. The are always other pitfalls to look out for like not being able to support many users, visiting and being active on the forums, at the same time and thus getting mySQL (database) error messages like 'too many users please try again'
As it stands right now this forum has a size of 478MB and using 40-50GB or so I believe of bandwidth per month...every dedicated server (our current setup) does come with room with lots more but what I posted above are considerations that make it difficult to impossible to move to free or much cheaper solutions.

I hope those who have shown interest do start/continue and do so regularly knowing that once we find one suitable place we will move as soon as possible and will ofcourse continue to update you as to whats happenning. A solution that will make it easier for all of us (and that includes those of us paying monthly amounts prior to all of this) to continue and keep MM alive...

All I can really add to Rez's post is that what we're hoping for is a group of members we can rely on to contribute either on a monthly basis, or a pool of members who'll come up with some sort of rotating contribution, as in "I can pay X to cover this 3 months" and someone else can pitch in X to cover another amount of time. We need to look at a long term solution like a server that costs less, yes, definitely, but even then we're going to need regular contributions. I've said this before and I will say it as many times as I have to to get it to sink in--NO ONE PERSON (or in this case maybe 2 persons) shoulder or will should the entire cost of keeping MM online. The more people who can come forward, and on a regular basis, the less we're all going to have to chip in. I can't say it in any simpler terms, and I hate to keep repeating myself.

Debs et al, let me say that you have my support, and as soon as am able (give me a month or so) I will be able to send US$10 per month, until you say when...though in all honesty, it would be easier done via credit card.

As you may or may not know, I am the proud father of a 3 month old tyrant calld Carlos (no after his grandfather, not Ancelotti, before you even try to ask) and with he and my 12 year old sending me to the bank every other day or so, I am as close to financial meltdown as one can be without being bankrupt.

Please PM me, as I can get some funds to you via my friends in the Sates, even before my one month time frame is final.
