How did it come to this???

20 games played in all competitions
21 goals conceded.

Can anyone think back to our scudetto year of 2003/2004 when juve's title challenge was undermined by a woefully ineffective and archaic backline. the likes of Montero and ferrara were still getting playing time and thuram was exiled to the right flank. Who can ever forget leggrotaglie, or whatever the f**k his name was.

OK can anyone see a similarity in the way Juve's season ended then to the way ours is threatening to go now? Look Raggazzi, don't for one second be fooled into thinking all is well after last nites nervy qualifications to the last 16. Gatusso's antic's at the end of the match really say it all. The team had been made to endure a tough and anxios 90 mins. Christian Poulsen had been at the center of all that, and Rino was releasing the tension of that 90 mins on to him. I really expect our players to conduct themselves with better class becoz poulsen is poulsen and we are Milan. Those colors stand for so much, and need to be worn with honor and dignity. We look a side that is unsure of itself at the moment. I get nervous everytime the ball gets anywere near our defensive zone, and i reckon its the same for our lads. look don't believe all this **** in the media about our defensive problems being all about our back four. this is an oversimplification because a whole lot happens before the ball gets there. we are nood defending well as a unit, and this is something we urgently need to address before the champions league starts up again in march, and also if we are to mount any sort of credible challenge for the scudetto. right now in europe if we come up against any crack side like barca, chelsea, juve or bayern we would have a problem. we are far from being a crack side at the moment...we are merely a side with a lot of cracks......big ones at that!!!!

The best form of defence is attack. The fact that Cafu has been injured this season has really hurt us.

Hello,

Just watched the Lazio v Milan game, and i have to admit i am very very disapointed. Not in the fact that we did not win, but just in the way the team is playing. I dont know about you but i am stuggling to c any light at the end on the tunnel these days regarding milan. i am just going to get my opinions out, because i feel reall anger if i do nothing.

I dont think the coach is able to motivate the players the way he should, there seems no urgencey in there play, no thrust, not cutting edge. do you remeber milans 3-1 victory in turin a few seasons ago, we had a purpose then, a drive, a will to win. we knew we where the best team in the land, not just a shadow of its self.

Seedorf has been great, but he tends to loose the ball too easy, when he is on form, he is outstanding, when he isnt - he simply isnt good enough.

Gattuso, outstanding passion. but passion isnt everything in football. you need skill and composure. if he coould add some skill to his game, i have no doubt he is a future milan captain.

Kaka is class, but i think he needs a rest. let him recharge his batteries so he is in top form for games against Bayern.

Defence - WE NEED SOME DEFENDERS! i dont care who comes in, we need players to cover for the like of maldini and stam. i know milan will buy players in the summer, but why did they not buy defenders this summer. i think i know why. after that night in instanbul i believe the coach wants these players to put things right, buy showing the world they can win CL with this team. will i admire this, i think it was a bit foolish.

I hope milan can pick them selfs upa nd show what a good team we are. i am not too worried about serie a, as that is gone. I DONT WANT TO BE EMBARRASED IN CHAMPIONS LEAGUE AGAIN.

I know like a lot of you, the nights in Istanbula nd Deportivo willnever be forgotten, and nor should they, but they were DARK<DARK DAYS I NEVER want to be apart again.

COME ON MILAN, FORZA MILAN!

I said in the beginnig of the year ... we should have pursued Oddo from Lazio. Yes he is not young and yes he is not the top defender in his position however I could see him being a great help this season as we have been quite hurt in the back line.

Oddo wasnt for sale was he? So Milan should get rid of Crespo and all other unnessesery players of that age, but we should have assigned Oddo...sounds strange...

I am so against this common saying

I have always beleived that the best form of deffence is deffence .

look at teams like barca they play very attractive football and its all attack but with the right tactician against them and a good deffence i think they can be easily broken down.

I always beleive a great ballance is great and I beleive we had that ballance in the 2004.

Crespo would not start over Gilardino...Crespo is roughly the same age as Inzaghi ... so where would there be a benefit of having another 30 plus striker that wants to start?

On the other hand we have a badly needed defender to cover a spot we are in need of...
not strange at all...also, considering Oddo was in talks with Milan AND he was an unbashful Milan fan it is even less strange.
