Too many foreigners

I think AC should take care of local players, giving chance to yuongsters to try themselfs because the moment milan was greatest it was based on grown ups like baresi maldini costacurta albetini etc..., yes duch trio boban and others played great role, but I think the fundament of a team is a solid deffence, milan lately buys too many foreign players in deffence, now they say they gonna get Poulsen, my opinion is : leave this semi-stars play whenever they play now, use local talent, we need new Baresi-s here!

I do not believe that in Italy you can not find young talented players at least in deffence!

I see your point, and up to a point, I share... specially with the great Italian tradition of good defenders... but if you pay attention, it is all globalized...

Arsenal (England) is the base of the French national team...
Liverpool (England) of the Spanish national team...
Real Madrid (Spain), Milan (Italy) of the Brazilian national team... etc.

so you can't ignore that... plus, European Community free transit and employment...

yeah, but it suck when talk is about football... maybe I am a bit old fasioned though I can not imagine how people can support a team with no local players plain there, I refer to Arse

I was so happy to see Milan buyin Gila and Bobo last summer that I thought italian Milan will regain it's face once again, however it seems I was a bit wrong

I like the notion but it's just not practical.

Of all the central defenders out there, a position we will certainly be filling this summer, how man italians are both transferable and good enough? The two Palermo guys, terlizzi and barzagli and possibly Bonera. that's 3 but in comparison to the foreigners Alex, Gallas, Chivu that are possible targets they really pale by comparison.

Look at us versus Bayern, I'd rather have Vogel in the team more than Gattuso right now.

Considering the lineup of other top european sides, I don't think we have so many foreigners.

I remember the days when Real Madrid and Barca where the base of the Spanish National team... and Milan, Juve, Inter of Italy...

the other day, Materazzi was the only Inter player, and he is a bench player there, and also in the Nazionale...

Milan has good italian players: Abbiati (when he returns), Pirlo, Gattuso, Nesta, Maldini, Ambrosini, Inzaghi, Gilardino... I think we only need to find a sub-Seedorf, or Sub-Kaka' who is Italian...

the romantic days of having mostly Italians in one squad are more or less over IMO. With the this whole EU integration it would be impossible for a team like Milan to remain competitive to others if we restrict our scope of transfer targets to Italian based players when there are forigners, who would fit better in the team - one example of that was mentioned above regarding CDs.
10 years ago people were still searched when crossing European borders, 10 years from now Europe would be like a European version of USA. This process of integration and globalization is inevitable as it seems right now, and football club's policies, along with everything and everyone else, will have to adapt to the change.

Milan have brought in young italian players like Pirlo, Rino, Gilardino and Ambro at young ages. They have become important to Milan.

We also invested in other young Italian player like Commandini, Pozzi, Donati, and Dallabona. Its not our fault if things dont work out and these players dont make the cut.

Apart from the younger player we have brought in Italians like Nesta and Inzaghi to team up with Maldini and Costacurta. Even some of the foreign players like Rui Costa and Cafu have been in Italy for years.

This Milan team has an Italian identity with a brazilian twist. BUT if positions do need to get filled, a players abilty must come before his passport.

You still think that name is worth more money than a quality and perspective?! IMO Barzagli is even better than those three lads you mentioned. Plus he is quite young and very mature to his age. Plus he is italian - maybe another Sandro, who is a God to italian milanisti who buy shorts and other accessory of our team. Never the less there are plenty of italian NT fans who would start support Milan more if we acquire more italian guys.

I was shocked when Real bought Cassano only for €4 mio and Braida, Galliani & co. were scilent like a fish Imagine, he is young, very very perspective and he could had formed an azzurri super duo in attack with Gila

Their title reflects their preference

If you mention San Paolo you should count San Billy too. Although they likely to finish careers soon

If Milan look like Arse someday I bet my love to them wont increase even though they will win all tournaments they play. I do not like football as a business to much. I perfer football as a game! American example of porfessional sports is very repulsive to me

Pozzi is still very young. And he is not too pricey IMO too.

Yup. I agree with you. Although IMO it's significant to choose an italian player than a foreigner if their abilities and price is almost equal.

I can not conceive why we did not paid attention to Toni, Esposito or even Cassano when we were lookin for a forward last summer and once again this january. Gila was the right choice, howver Amoruso isnt

I did not mean that if some brasilian guy is better then italian milan should pick italian , but I think that there is much more sence to take perspective italian youngsters than not too big stars from abroad, in terms of cost/benefit ratio, thats my position.

I think every squad should take care of its identity, self-identity of its brand, if we look at it businesswise. if it will stay italian team it will have much more supporters in italy and abroad I think, I will give you an example of my country, I do not know any single person who became big fan of milan because Kaladze went to play there, but many people who like italian football in georgia are for milan because it is a team of baresi , maldini and others, and besides I am not against of foreign stars, of course without them you wil not achieve anything, if we get ronaldigno I will be very happy but I do not want this guys like gallas or chivu who are not so perfect lets admit, bring young players from Palermo, get 3 in price of gallas and one of them will surely became better then him , and you will still have 2 to resell again.
