I read several weeks ago (I can't find the link, but I recall it quite well) that he wants to play for Italy because of his heritage. The only reason I could ever see him choosing to play for the US is less competition for playing time. He wouldn't have to compete for time against Gila and forwards of that caliber that Italy has at its disposal.

funny you should say that, the headline on The Mirror today is "Pope to visit Britain"

As for Cudicini, we were so desperate we wouldve done anything to spare us from the torture of having David James in goal

Rossi is the type of player which Italy misses often, he can make passes , play behind forwards, so he will compete not with Gilardino but with I do not know whom, totti and delpiero are already veterans and I do not see any other really talented italian player good for that role

the lad is an absolute pro, so down to earth and polite.

and with ruud becoming 30 in july his years are soon finished and giuseppe will be his replacement.

He played quite well but didnt have any clear cut chances to score, his link up play was good though, and it will be great to see him work with Rooney in the future.

Richardson was probably the most impressive youngster though, his goal was a 25 yard screamer and he also smacked one off the bar (which bounced down 3/4s over the line then out ) from 30 yards after running from his own half
