That sounds like very positive news to me, 'cause it can mean another major and NECESSARY step on the reshapement of our squad... since we don't get another old timer on a free transfer as a sub for him, of course...!

Well, it's a damn fine overwhelmingly POWERFUL midfield, but I guess it's only a dream... but look at a more realistic but also cool midfield:

We sold Stam to Ajax, and we could now buy Diarra with Shevas money. this could be real.

Only thing is: Sneijder is everything but a defensive midfielder, and Pirlo will be given a less defensive role next season... Will Diarra be enough to fill up all the gaps ? Not quite sure... Even Gattuso would have difficulties doing it on his own !

I would only want Seedorf to go for two reasons:

1) We have a better player than him in the bag and ready to go straight into the starting 11

2) We've been offered a good price for him.

For a while now i've thought that maybe Seedorf will go back to Ajax and follow Stam and Davids there, so maybe a swap between Seedorf and Sneijder isn't too far off the mark ??

While this story probably has no truth in it whatsoever, lets look at this hypothetically. Firstly Seedorf is a serial traveller, he's always moving between clubs and the chances of him staying with us until he retires are slim. Secondly he's approaching 30 now and if a good amount was offered i would take it. Thirdly he had a poor season by his standards, or at least he wasn't as sharp as before so i think if a better player were to be purchased, could Seedorf handle a role on the bench ? Finally, while he is still a valued player in the market, we can use him in other transfers.

Just a few thoughts.

I think Pirlo will stay in Dm position becouse that is the only position he cant play, he can penetrate enough for a RM or LM, his passing and his wiew of the game is his power. Carlo wants another midfielder that can pass well so teams cant just man mark Pirlo like Barca did.
