Legaly, this is known as the Monopoly, and it shouldnt excist in football either. One person cant control more than one club. Looks like Abramovic ownes PSV, Chelsea, Corinthians and so on.... In few years, he'll join Moggi.....

This has hardly anything to do with monopoly, it's just what GNL would call - what a decaying capitalistic society is based upon, and namely market economy. It's a game of satisfying one's interests without breaking teh law. It hardly matters what is decent or moral here, as long as it's not against the law, it goes.
And why should it be against the law? Abramovich's interests simply coincide with those of PSV, who are more than happy to "incubate" players for him because players like Alex and Teves are players PSV couldn't afford in a century to come.
As for Corinthians, their pres is as dirty as they get, maybe even dirtier than Roman himself, and that would be some feat. they are just business partners and "friends" but that doesn't mean that Roman is gonna get Tevez for free, maybe a first option yes, but that would be it.
And these things have nothing to do with Roman owning PSV or Corinth, it's just a situation of several parties working together 'cause their interests coincide. If there were a law against that, economies would be collapsing by the hour.

But how do you know whether a player is at a risk to flop? Some of the biggest prospects have failed in serie a and some of the lower profile players have succeeded tremendously. A player's nationality is not enough indication as to whether or not they will succeed. I dont claim to be an expert on this, but in my opinion Torres is not at any increased risk to flop compared with any other transfer. I think it is only fair to leave this up to management. If they think that Torres is a sure bet, then they ought to sign him. If they have reservations, I will respect that as well. But it doesnt mean that we should then turn our sights to players of a lower caliber. And like I've been saying, even if he does flop, we can afford to take the loss. If we were Parma and not AC Milan, I wouldnt be saying this.

You know why we have been so cautious in the market? It's not because we are cheapskates, it was because we have been winning. And nobody wants to alter a winning formula. If you asked me after the CL winning season of 2003 and the Scudetto of 2004 whether we should make any MAJOR signings. I would say, no. There was simply no need then. However, there is a need now. In fact, I thought the club should have started moving since Istanbul. I know we signed Gilardino, but more solid reinforcements (especially in defence and midfield) would have been useful. I think management just figured that we would push through another season with the same squad. But guess what, we were knocked out of the CL semis and finished second. No trophies again. Now if you dont consider this enough indication for some BIG signings, then I dont know what is.

I think this is mainly where you and I differ. A solid squad capable of competing in Europe is not good enough for me and IMO not good enough for Milan. Fiorentina? Maybe. But not AC Milan. We are a team built to win. So I dont care how solid our squad may look and honestly the team to fear in Europe now is Barcelona, not us. We have become rather predictable. Which team wouldnt know how to play us? We've got virtually the same squad and formation for the last couple of years. So for me, just competing is not enough. If we win, then well and good--we reinforce where needed. But if we dont win, then we need freshen things up. I'm not saying that we should spend 100M on Torres, Gerrard, etc...I am simply saying that we need to make some BIG signings to freshen the team and add some enthusiasm ahead of the season. You are right. Those dark years in the mid to late 90s were pretty bad. And our approach was completely wrong then. We simply threw money at the problem and bought high profile players. I am not suggesting we do that. I am simply saying that we should spend big if need be. And in my opinion, after two trophyless years, an aging defense, the loss of our star striker and top scorer, there is now a need.

Exactly. IMO Rui Costa was not a flop at all. He will always be an integral part of Milan's history. But our move for him demonstrated serious ambition, and our willingness to spend big demonstrated our desire to once again dominate in Europe. It is now time to demonstrate that level of ambition. And you are right, it doesnt have to be Torres (although in my opinion, he would be best). It could be Zlatan, Adriano. But it has to be a player with enough caliber to signal the rest of Europe that we will be a force to reckon with. I dont know if Suazo fits that bill. And yes, the Gilardino signing was fantastic. Now that we have lost Shevchenko, dont you think it's time for another big signing?
ok, seems i misunderstood you or visa versa, we seem to agree that we need to find a suitable replacement for sheva aswell as other areas on the team, the only difference between youre policy and mine is that you would rather see us spend a large amount of money because the fans need that sort of buzz for a BIG signing, I on the other hand would rather see us spend the right amount of money on the right transfer, I personally dont think torres is the choice especially at a crazy price like 40m euros I would rather see us spend money on someone like tevez, suazo, zlatan who I feel have a better chance of settling in especially if they can be bought for a cheaper price than 40m euros

Please... I haven't watched Suazo so I really cannot comment on him.. but Zlatan is really in an extremely bad slump. A year long slump. Why would Milan buy him.

well, the previous season he was one of the best players in all of Serie A and easily Juve's best player. if you are gonna judge a player on a single season-long performance, why not take that previous season for a base?
And there are a lot of quality players that had a bad season - Riquelme, Totti, Sheva, Cassano, etc, etc, etc.

c'mon.. Riquelme wasn't nearly as bad as Zlatan. Cassano rarely played. Shev was injured.. and didn't play that bad. Not bad enough to be compared to Zlatan. Look at Zlatan's world cup performance.

Look like it or not every player has a bad season. Sheva's only contribution to the CL winning season was that goal vs Inter in the CL semifinals and the PK in the final. Apart from that the team had to carry on without him.
And you seem to be able to find excuses for everyone but Ibraimovich. Let's be a bit more impartial and fair.
His world cup performance? Well, Sheva, Henry and Dinho aren't exactly setting the world on fire either, so ...

I guess we're gonna buy our replacement striker after the World Cup. I hope it's Tevez or Torres. Although i reckon that these 2 players are going to be very expensive. I doubt Milan are willing to pay so much for a player. I hope it's not going to be RVN.

The board must replace Sheva with a worthy young top class striker, that's not a matter of choice, it's an imperative!

Please please not Zlatan "street football " Ibraimovich, he´s playing like child either his head is down when tries to dribble standing still or his head is up looking for birds.
Zlatan = Overrated, Beckham is underrated compared to Zlatan

Haha. I agree! Zlatan is a selfish player who has trouble fitting into the team concept. Sweden was a much better team without him in this World Cup! When he was out of the lineup, they moved the ball around well and created more scoring opportunities. When he was in the lineup, either they were lobbing balls to him or he was hogging the ball.

yeah, Allback is one of those unselfish runners and between him and Larsson the Swedes were a more mobile unit. Zlatan showed moments of class but at times acted as though the rest of the team were only on the pitch to give him the ball

i think the best replacement would have been podolski, but hes off to bayern now and its impossible, he would have looked great next to kaka and gila.... i think we should go for klose though, him or tevez would be the best realistic signings but i dont expect tevez to be cheap

Klose???? I didnt expect that from you. Klose is not even close to Gila or Pippo, and he cant even replace one Shevas foot! Torres and Ibrahimovic are our targets. In worst case - Suazo and Cassano.

you speak as if you just came out of a secret discussion with Galliani on Milan's future targets. Chances Milan management themselves aren't as sure as you are who is our target and who isn't as they are probably still evaluating numerous possibilities.
As for Klose, next time try to actually watch him before you ditch him so easily and tell me when was the last time any of those overhyped, super-expensive "talents" like Tevez or Torres played so well up front and were so effective and efficient in their game.
And I agree Klose isn't even close to gila and Pippo as right now he is much better than any of them, and that's not to bash Milan players because the same could be said for all the Torreses and Tevezes out there. And what would Klose cost us - at most 1/4th of those overhypies.
