I agree that one of the biggest mistakes was selling Vieira. Milan should have been more patient with him and give him more chances.

However, Ayala got his chances here and he was reeeeally awful. Even though he turned out to be a great defender, Milan gave him lots of chances but he didnt take advantage of any of them.

oddo could shine again in Milan, the man has some class when he has some decent support, unlike in Lazio. With Gallas we have brilliant defence.

Vieira has indicated should Juve be thrown out of Serie A this summer, he would rather quit the Turin giants than play in Serie B.

Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti has already admitted he wants to sign a ball-winner to play alongside Andrea Pirlo next season and Vieira's potential availability has sparked his interest.

Indeed, a cash-plus-player swap involving Milan goalkeeper Christian Abbiati is already being considered by San Siro directors.

The cash plus player swap should be reserved for Buffon in case dida does not renew

Nesta did very well here, Stam also but is frequently injured. Cafu and Kaladze probably played their best football in Milan. Pancaro also have his best ever season here.

Don't even mention Ayala, he played farking badly for so damn long. i remember that he is one of the most hated player in this forums for the kind of performances he put in. I am very glad when he leave.
well, i'm not saying that Zac was the best coach Milan ever had. I actually prefer both Ancelotti and Terim but I really liked his attitude to bringing youngsters in the starting 11. Zac's main problem that made us burn out in CL was that he wasnt able to change from 3-4-1-2 to 4-3-1-2 and also that he was still trying new roles for players and new line-up instead of the one that worked. But his vision and buying only available world class player and raising our own youngsters was a way good.
And don't be blind man! Nesta is good solid defender but at the time we bought him he was the best defender in the world, he's doing good but he's not shining as he did anymore. Same case of Stam...he was a rock in Man U and he did just solid in ACM. I follow Cafú since WC 1994 and i'm sorry to say that cause he's still excelent...but he was doing a way better like 5 years ago...it only wasnt that visible cause he wasnt playing for the major side. Hes also more likely to get injured when he's older.
Kaladze did definately his best in Milan cause it's the first bigger team he played for...you really can't judge his performances in Ukrainian od Gruzian leagues and in the case of CL...he did at least the same in Dynamo as with us. The problem is that his performances are too unballanced.
I can remamber Ayala did few very bad performances but i understand he should have been kinda nervous when there was no faith in him from the beginning. He was bought to be a regular starter...but most of season was dropped out in favour of Sala, N'Gotty and Coco....eventhough he was doing good at the start of the season. Then he came as a sub...did misteak and had to wait so long time to get another chance...whichs bringing players psychics very low. Mainly those temperament south american dudes. When he went to Valencia and he was the main guy in the defence he shined very much...cause he got the faith of the coach.

Oh thanx SANT...Collocini is one more to the line...i also can't remamber what happend to this Samir Beloufa guy...he was French U-21 regular and never get a chance to show anything.

Well, the point is that Massimo Oddo was raised in AC Milan from his childhood and we got no benefits from it. Otherwise we are trying to take him back as a 30 years old player for a very high prize and that shows our policy in this case is not the best.

Milan Still Target Oddo

The Rossoneri want the Lazio wing-back to be Cafu's reserve
Milan's long-term target, Massimo Oddo, might soon join the Rossoneri as the Italian club are preparing to bid for the Biancoceleste's player.

However, if the negotiation fails, Milan are ready to try and lure Blackburn Rovers full-back Lucas Neill who has impressed with Australia during this World Cup edition, but will have to be careful from a possible Barcelona bid.

I had been seeing Neill linked to a move to Barcelona for about a week and then the other day, right out of the blue, I saw one report that mentioned both Barca and Milan. Don't know what the basis of this is. Neill is a good player. Big mistake on that penalty kick yesterday though.

It's from channel4.com:

Massimo Oddo has not lost hope of joining Milan and has begged Lazio to lower their £8m asking price.

“Claudio Lotito is said to be asking for £8m to release me, but if Real Madrid paid just £5m for someone like Fabio Cannavaro, I don’t see why I should have such a price tag put on my head,” pointed out the full-back.

Oddo was one of Cannavaro’s World Cup winning teammates in Germany and has already set his sights on the club he wants to join this summer.

“Through thick and thin, I have always remained a Milan supporter,” admitted the 30-year-old. “On top of that, they are a world class club. It’s clearly obvious that I wouldn’t reject such an opportunity.”

This is another example of a club trying to screw us over. How Lazio can value Oddo at £8 million is truly beyond me. With Grosso costing Inter £4 million and as Oddo points out, Cannavaro only went for £5 million, to see him valued like this is insane.

We should offer £4 million + Simic and if they don't accept then go for Reveillere/Alves.

Insane, or just Lazio telling us that they really don't want to sell him? If Milan rate Oddo at £4 million and Lazio rate him at £8 million, then I guess he's more worth to Lazio than he will be to Milan. Of course they won't sell him cheap if he's that important to their team!

I personally would rather have Miguel, Reveilliere or Alvez, in no particular order. The first two are 3 years younger than Oddo, Alvez is like 6 years younger. They may be a little more expensive now but in the long run would prove to be a better investment IMO.
Also as players I rate them higher than the Italian ... and from what I saw on uefa.com, the regulations of the CL regarding foreign/home-grown players aren't as restrictive as I initially thought - we have more than enough italian players in our squad to cover those requirements.
