[b]GOURCUFF: 'San Siro: what emotion!'
8/7/2006
MILAN - Yoann Gourcuff spoke to Milan Channel at the end of training: ’It was very emotional to be at the San Siro today. I have fitted in well. Carlo Ancelotti has told me to keep working the way I have. All my team-mates have helped me settle in, expecially Vogel who speaks the same language as me.’

man every one is in love with the guy and hes wearing number 7. so i think he will be in the strarting eleven. plus diara will not come our midfiled is ok since pilro got his touch back.

Diarra isn't going to replace Pirlo people.. he's going to handle Pirlo's defensive duties so Pirlo can focus more on creating opportunities in attack.

Diarra isnt joining Milan, end of story. We have Gattuso to do the defensive duties, and we also have Vogel and Brocchi. It is unnecessary to bring a 25m player to Milan to stay as a sub, so you guys can dream all you want but im telling you he's not coming and will 99% be in Real Madrid.

Well I agree With Hitmann we have 2 of top defensive midfilders in the world i mean in 25M milan can invest it somewhere else, Vogel will have more role than last year especially after the good show in the last tournament in germany. and milan would never think of replacment for pirlo , he is one of the few midfilders in the world that got the brain in the midfield. let us hope that milan can buy 2 more players one in the defense and second striker. let us hope for torres(tevez) and Gallas

Our midfield does need improving and one man (Gattuso) isn't enough to do the defensive work of a whole team. Pirlo contributes a bit, but he's not strong enough and Seedorf contributes hardly anything to this area of the team.

I also think it's ludicrous to even suggest that Gourcuff is physical enough to play in the 'engine room' of our midfield. None of you have seen him play regularly but all of a sudden he can play anywhere across midfield. He was brought as a sub for Kaka, that will be his best position.

Who's our other top defensive midfielder then Lebanese ? Gattuso is the only one. If we got Diarra he wouldn't be sub so get over it. He would play along side Pirlo & Gattuso providing us with a greater strength and resiliance.

People seem to forget how Barcelona just ran right through us in midfield, they were all over us and you think that Gourcuff will solve this problem ? Be realistic, we need another top defensive midfielder. Diarra hopefully, if not then someone like YaYa Toure as both Vogel & Ambrosini (although i like Ambrosini alot) aren't really up to it.

Malkawi is an unknown quantity at this point
At the begining of last year, Ambrosini played three games with Pirlo and Gattuso in the midfield. He was great, he contributes in the offence, he's the best milan player in the air (headers). But no one can see that he's that good. I really pitty him he's much better than what he's given. he should've been in the azzuri squad, he's better than perotta and camoranesi....... Sedoorf has a big problem, he either playes a great brilliant game or the worst game ever, you can't count on him, so diarra would be good, if he came though he wont play regular first team.

People know Ambro is good, its just he's constantly injured, which is a major problem if we expect him to play regularly.

I would say you're wrong on both accounts, enough people have posted a midfield formation of

---------Kaka---------
Diarra---Pirlo---Gattuso

for everyone to see that he would fit into the first team easily without making alterations and that he would play alongside Gattuso, so we wouldn't be selling him at all.

Of course he'd be a regular player in the first team. Why wouldn't he be ?

Agree with hitman, 25M is too expensive for a players who's place have at least 4 people can play <Pirlo, Gattuso, Vogel, Ambrossini, not including Poulsen>. If we buy another Striker, our midfield is ok. But if we don't get anymore striker, I think we should just buy an AMF .

jeff i dont think Diarra will start ahead of Seedorf.. no way.. Seedorf is very important to our formation.. his characteristics.. his long shots, his ball-keep tactic that no 1 can match.. his long passes... no bro, Seedorf is irreplacable and giving him the #10 jersey is a clear indication by our board that they think that too..

I don't think he is that important. If Sneijder comes, Seedorf won't be in starting team. Diarra can beat seedorf too. But if we need to attack, Seedorf will be better than Diarra IMO.

Kaka: I think it has been here twice.

Diarra is to give our midfield a physical prescence while freeing Pirlo in the midfield. Gattuso alone can't be expected to handle the defensive responsibilities in midfield especially since Kaka does NOT defend.. and Seedorf..cannot consistently give us great performances.

Gattuso can. do you remember our 3-1 win VS Juve? Gattuso beat Emerson, Nedved, Vieira. If he has his best shape <even normal shape>, we don't have to worry and don't have to buy diarra.
