Last season we had full stadium for most UCL matches... like against Barcellona, there were 80,000 fans...

yes, Serie A matches avg. for Milan is 45-50 thousand...

UCL game in San Siro against AEK Athens was only 32 thousand,
so I am correcting myself here.

No, actually the West Indies are a collection of islands in the Caribbean ocean...from a purely geographic perspective, including Jamaica, Cuba, Hispaniola (i.e. Haiti and Dominican Republic) Puerto Rico etc...however, the "British West Indies", (all ex-colonies of England) grouped together to form a collective cricket team, so, players from Trinidad & Tobago, Jamaica, Barbados etc. all play for the "West Indies" Cricket team.

The east indies, include Indonesia, as well as other islands such as Singapre(?)...yes, geographically, they are almost on opposite sides of the globe...

Wow, from a comparison of Gila and Sheva...to a geography lesson...and me as a mod supporting this off topic activity...I should be ashamed of myself!

only 32000 i knew Juve had problems (when they were in the competition ) but i didnt think Milan got so low too. Is that just this season with lower expectations because of the point reduction, lack of big name signings etc or is that quite standard to dip that much for the less well regarded teams such as AEK?

At Utd there were 72000 on Tuesday so 3000 down on max and that was enough to prompt questions!

PS nowt to do with the thread but thought id mention it anyway, as i was typing they sahowed the new wembley on the news and it looks stunning now with the seats in and grass down England may be allowed to use it this decade afterall

The new wembley will be quite possibly the best stadium in the world, every footballing 'great' from around the world that has gone there has been blown away by it. What it's like when it's full is another matter though.

I don't doubt we had a full house for Barca, but considering the stage of the competition it was at and the opposition, i'd expect nothing less. Compared to some Serie A attendances that have been around 12 -15,000, we're doing quite well but still way short on what we used to get. There's no point having an 80,000 seater stadium if you can only fill it a few times a year (derbies, high profile CL ties).

Warro, you can't burn cricket gear, there's already one ashes

What was this thread about again?

Funny thing is that before season started, there were already over 40,000 UCL ticket packages sold...
