Thing is, Milan still lost. It's all very well saying we did well to come back, but Inter still claimed three points and local bragging rights.

It's very hard to look for positives when you've just shipped four goals in a derby.

I have to agree here. Wow, I like to accent at the positives too but this is just too much , too surreal . There are too many should've , would've , could'ves here . Post after post of naive , in denial sunshine .

Yes, we put in a good effort after being 3-0 down but we lost, we got our butts handed to us. Let's face the facts. Inter played better and our team is in desperate need for some refreshments all over the place, personnel and tactics. This needed to be done last year, can't you guys see this?

A certain controversial poster who was recently removed from MM complained of this all the time, "We need new players, we need new players". At first I thought he was a real pain the rump and I didn't believe his short rants but after watching this performance and others before it, he's shown me his observations are spot on.

Every fan and I am sure everyone at Milan, from Berlusca to the equipement manager, knows that we new players. I have seen such posts since I became a member of this site back in June. Everyone threw out names like ronaldinho, torres, tevez, oddo, barzagli, Ibrahimovic, Buffon, and many more. I wanted new players as a fan, and the only player we bought that I got excited about is Gourcuff. However we are now in October, the season is well under way and this is the team we have!!!! There is nothing we can do about it. It's the cards we have been dealt. Yes, the players are older, yes we lack width, yes we need scorers, yes we lack fitness, but it's not being naive when we take positives from a near amazing comeback. We can ***** like the loser Inter or Roma fans or move forward and look at the positives. My good man GOOSE, I just moved out of the states after living there for 15 yrs, so don't tell me that when the phoenix suns or Arizona Cardinals (well forget the cards, they suck) or any other team for that matter, makes an amazing comeback yet falls short, that their fans though upset, still praise the effort and the fighting spirit. It happens in every pro and college sport. Milan is no different. Things will get better. Milan management is not incompetent. 7 champions league finals since 1989 prove that.

I am sure you are not surprised...I didnt try to surprise anyone. I said 22even Gila", because I saw some right moves from him, and yesterday he was on a place where he is supposed to be. It took him 6 months to realize what is it that he has to do.

Goose, I believe you'll know the miracles this club has produced over the years. We've had worse squads, harder tasks to reach and still managed to do the impossible (98/99?). This season is no different, we're currently in big trouble, but we as fans should ALWAYS keep following the team (I doubt you'll stop following them, especially if you've gone through the first few years of this decade ).

I believe this team is capable of more than we have seen, I don't just believe actually, I know it. I'm sure we'll see some miracles this year.

Fans should not be upset at all, becuase the players showed they could comeback, that's if they had the time, Inter and Milan were both class.

Matches could be won and lost in a matter of minutes, and the evidence for that is too much

is a werid game; Milan conceded 2 goals way too early. I'll definitely blame Ancelotti for fielding Ambrosini, who is definitely NOT fit. I think that's where it costs us, not the 4-3-2-1. The intention is good, but the player's form is, unfortunately, bad.

The problem with that formation is that although you had Kaka supporting Inzaghi, Pippo was cut out by the defense all through the first half, Kaka and Gattuso weren't supporting Pippo well enough

I didn't read the all the comments. There was too many of them so here are my thoughts and I am sorry if some of this was mentioned already!

I was shocked at the line up that Carlo came up with at the beggining. I swear I could sence trouble comming in with that line up. There was NO pressure on their defence at all. Pippo was totally alone and outmarked, outmuscled and always marked by Inter. It is really not his fault. Seedorf had one of the worst performances of his career in the first half as far as I am concerned. He did pick it up in the second half however and I have to give him that. He put a lot of effort out on the pitch.

As much as I don't want to say this.........Carlo lost the game for us. He totally put out the wrong tactic in the first half, and we paid for it. Inter was mostly all over us. And even though 3 of theri goals weren't up to Inter's briliance then mostly OUR individual mistakes, still the tactics were totally wrong. We saw what the real Milan looks like in the second half, when we play the way we should. It is not right to blame only Carlo as, if the players played a little better maybe the situation was going to be different. Maybe then we were going to hail Carlo's "mastermind", but it did not turn out that way, so we have nothing left to do but say we are unhappy with what he put out there. Inzaghi had nothing against the Inter defence. Carlo.......If you are going to play the X-mass tree, please make it with a strong target-forward who can hold the ball and fight some chalenges.

Another thing...........I have been keeping this inside for a while now but have been running out of patience and I will definatly say it now! AMBROSINI is not nearly a Milan material type of player. I don't know what he offers to our team. I normaly have patience for all our players and never crititize them like this.....but sorry......Ambrosini is horrible. We played with a man less in the first half and the one responsible for that was Ambrosini. He never made ONE thing that had ANY influence on the game whatsoever! The second goal Stankovic scored I would blame on Ambrosini........because the defence was pushed back from their forwards and they were awaiting a cross. The ball got turned inside by Dacourt(I think) to Stankovic who had a lot of time to line one in. If you look closely you would see Ambrosini just jogging behind Stankovic......and when he saw that the ball is actually getting to Stankovic he started sprinting which by then.........was TOO LATE! Well you need to hustle on the field to play. Expecially if you don't have a starting spot an you want one. I am totally dissapointed by him. Everyone else played bad in the first half as we had no ideas of what to do......but Ambro was in the front of the pack and I was really dissapointed.

Their third goal was just a good counter as we did push up right after the start of the 2nd half. Their last goal was a foul on Nesta. Even though he wasn't the one guarding Materazzi, he had a chance of getting that ball. But...the story of the night was that Inter got 90% of the calls their way. As matter of fact the foul that resulted in the first goal wasn't really a foul I think.

The positives............2nd half. I was so pissed after the first half I was already throwing stuff around the house. But the second half performance made me proud. So much grit from our players and they actually looked like the wanted to win after that horrible first half. Gilardino scored what was a briliant goal and that was a huge positive. I think it was again proven that we have a good striking duo up front and Carlo needs to work on that. Oliveira and Gilardino have been looking impressive. We also had a lot of chances to score......I have to say a lot more then Inter. Great display by Cafu as well, as he looked like he was 20 again. What class by Maldini too as he whipped in some great crosses and some hard tackles as well. Just.....the whole 2nd half was great even though we concided 2 goals.

All is not lost and if Milan can play with the type of determination they showed in the 2nd half.......I really don't know if a team out there can beat us. Great come-back, but it really is not enough to beat Inter with only playing for 45 minutes and be absent for the other 45. We needed to play the whole 90 to win, and sadly we didn't do that.
Let's look up to the CL now and get back to winning ways.

Forza Milan Forever!!!

Well if I am not wrong, I can reacal the fact that when AC Milan signed that coward Ricardo Olivera it was U ppl who said he will score goals, I was the one who criticized that coward by calling him USELESS. Now see what he is all abt??????He is absolute useless, we dont need him, kick him out and bring some quality striker (Huntelaar, Makaay or Ronaldo) plus we needed William Gallas & Buffon to replace another COWARD DIDA but I dont know whats wrong with AC Milan transfer concern ppl, defeat to Inter Milan has made me sick , its almost impossible to accept defeat to the hands of a team who are NOT better than us

Just to be an inter player is a good reason to be sent off.

---> I really agree with this statement ... hehehehehee

Btw, if Milan can play like the second half start from now on, I am sure the Scudetto will be our. Really, it's rarely we can see Milan playing like that.

I really proud of Milan.

Forza Milan !!!

you should cool down and shut up, seriously. or at least try to present your argument in a more civil way, maybe it will be worth some discussion. or you might get into some serious trouble.

Zeekay, don't even try to be funny talking like that... regardless of the fact that it's my duty as Moderator to warn you, as a plain member I tell you that posting like that will not get you anywhere... so measure your words...

you call Dida a coward, but if you had him in front of you you wouldn't say anything...

so keep your words to yourself, unless you have something to say, and you say it properly...

and this is a formal public warning...
