This post should shut a few people up in here!
Good post Tony! Maybe you should also post this at the "What's so bad about Gila" thread where people have been coming up with unsupported arguments like Egoistika's.

your right ....

but gila has many years to improve - hopefully - and with milan helping him , heck i think he ll be scoring .. important goals . some time soon ok i ll try not getting carried away ... lol

Now take Gilardino & Shevchenko. They are both strikers and they can be compared on the fact that they both score goals. That is all i was comparing them on, not on skill level or any other qualities. They both score goals, that is my only comparison.

If i want to attack Shevchenko i will, just like you're attacking Gilardino.

Vadim makes a great point about Istanbul and the disallowed goal, which at the time was meaningless to the match, yet as we found out it would have been vital!

Gilardino's goals, while not affecting the outcome of either game, were important at the time as it led to both Kaka's goal (through increased confidence) and assurance in gaining the 3 points against Anderlecht. True this importance is slight, but it is an importance none-the-less. Just as you think we think of things to cover up for Gilardino, i think you think of anything to try and argue agaisnt him. This current argument that you (and others have) is quite weak.
What confidence did Gila give to Kaka after scoring the 4th goal? Kaka have already scored his 3 goals before that. So did it really affect Kaka's confidence? I dont think so. Kaka's confidence have been already at the top, because of those 3 he scored before Gila. So there is no even slight importance...it affected only Gilardino. The arguement is very strong...I m sorry, but its ur arguement that seems very weak. My arguement was backed up by the real statistics, and yours wa backed up by nothing...its only imaginary staff...this slight importance that you are talking about is just a picture that your imagination gives you.

P.S.: I dont have to think of the things to attack Gila - he just gives them to me .

Great post by Tony, but even that wont stop the incessant dribble that comes out of Ego's trapdoor.

Egoistka says how all (or almost all) of Gila's goals were unimportant (whatever this category means), scored at 3:0 and similar, and she says how he never scores opening or decissive goals.
All i needed to do was to check for last years Milan's results and scorers.

These are the 17 goals he scored for Milan last year :

1. Sampdoria 2-1 Milan
[Emiliano Bonazzoli 38, Max Tonetto 57; Alberto Gilardino 18 ]
He scored the opening goal for 1:0 lead. Is it his fault the defence allowed 2 goals and his goal wasn't a decissive one ?

2. Treviso 0-2 Milan
[Andriy Shevchenko 43pen, Alberto Gilardino 72 ]
This goal looks decissive enough to me !!! Or isn't it decissive just because he didn't score it at 1:1 but he scored it at 1:0 ???

3. Cagliari 0-2 Milan
[Alberto Gilardino 1 , Andriy Shevchenko 27]
Scored the opening goal. And if someone says Sheva scored the decissive goal here, then i suggest to the someone to look above and see the result against Treviso.

4. Empoli 1-3 Milan
[Ighli Vannucchi 36; Alberto Gilardino 45+1, 50, Christian Vieri 55]
Wow, Empoli leads 1:0 and Gila scores 2 in a row. Are these goals decissive, or only the second one is important because with the first goal he only equalised and with the second he gave the lead ?

5. Milan 5-1 Udinese
[Alberto Gilardino 25, 53, Clarence Seedorf 37, Andrea Pirlo 45,
Ricardo "Kaką" Izecson 77; Vincenzo Iaquinta 60pen]
What a useless goal Gila's second goal was !!! He scored it at 3:0. But what about his first one, the opening one ???

6.Fiorentina 3-1 Milan
[Luca Toni 10, 87, Martin Jorgensen 46; Alberto Gilardino 25]
In which category should we put this goal ? Unimportant because Milan lost ? It was an equaliser, but he didn't have to score it at all because Milan lost at the end !

7.Milan 4-0 Messina
[Andriy Shevchenko 23pen, 48, Andrea Pirlo 83, Alberto Gilardino 85]
First "unimportant" goal so far.....

8. Livorno 0-3 Milan
[Alberto Gilardino 23, 60, Andriy Shevchenko 71]
Scored the opener and then brought the win with the second goal. Or is it Sheva who scored the decissive goal on this match ???

9. Milan 4-3 Parma
[Giuseppe Cardone 27og, Alberto Gilardino 29, Ricardo "Kaką" Izecson 36,
Andriy Shevchenko 81; Paolo Cannavaro 24, Marco Marchionni 70, 85]
Gila scored this goal at 1:1... so we have to give him some credit for this goal, right ?

10. Milan 5-0 Treviso
[Ricardo "Kaką" Izecson 14, Andriy Shevchenko 54, 66,
Alberto Gilardino 63, Filippo Inzaghi 74]
Scored it at 3:0...so we can count this as unimportant again...his third unimportant.

11. Reggina 1-4 Milan
[Carlos Humberto Paredes 9; Filippo Inzaghi 14, 52, 90+3,
Alberto Gilardino 37]
He scored it at 1:1 and he gave his team the lead....looks important to me !!!

12.Milan 1-0 Cagliari
[Alberto Gilardino 23]
OMG...Opening goal and decissive at the same moment...never saw this coming !

13. Udinese 0-4 Milan
[Andriy Shevchenko 42, 65, Alberto Gilardino 61, Clarence Seedorf 71]
He scored it at 1:0...what is this ? important, unimportant or litlle bit of both ?

14. Messina 1-3 Milan
[Giuseppe Sculli 7; Marek Jankulovski 33, Gennaro Gattuso 44,
Alberto Gilardino 90]
Ok, i'll count it as the 4th unimportant, although i don't agree with this !

Also, i'd like to add that 4 penalties were made over him.

It's up to you guys to decide if he's a kind of player Egoistka presents him to be

GL

Well, first of all look at your stats. Doesn't it prove my point? Look, almost all the matches where Gila scored goals were 2:0, 3:0, 3:1, 4:0, 4:1, 5:0; meaning that those teams Udinese, Reggina, Treviso etc. were not playing well at all, otherwise they wouldn't consider so many goals. That not only proves the point that Gila in the whole last and this season have scored THE WINNING GOAL only a couple of times and only against not very strong teams. I ll write my stats in "What is so bad about Gila" thread, because this thread is really about Milan - Anderlecht.

Are you Parma supporter? I am Milan supporter, and I dont give a damn about the amount of goals that he have scored for Parma if he doesnt score for Milan.

That day they were no good, they played badly..If the team consideres 3,4,5 or more goals - it has a bad day, time or year...basically, doesnt play well for whatever reason there is for that.

Sorry I confused that with another match...my mistake. But the point still is that if a team loses 4:0 they obviously played sh*t. But you are being really rude..do you know that? There is no need to respond in such a way. I couldnt care less about your personal attitude to me, but still...

I havent seen the match...in 1994 I was 12 years old and didnt support any football then. I dont have to know everything...I dont really have any interest on what Milan, Barca, Zenit or whoever else done such a long time ago.
But I can say still that they played no good, because 4:0 defeat means that.

My ignorance? Its not ignorance, I m sorry...but it is just not knowing some information from 1994! Are you serious? Ignorance..huh...How old are you? You seem like a child.

You're so full of Bull it's unbelievable!

You have the weak argument, not i. First your argument was he can't score, then he did. Now your argument is that his goals don't mean anything. Next when he silences you again, you'll find something else to whinge about.

His goal in the Derby affected the team, if he didn't score the second goal i highly doubt we'd have had the confidence to push on and score the third goal.

Only imaginary stuff? That's good coming from you when you talk about Gilardino's psyche and claim to be able to read what kind of person he is.
