Gourcuff plays certainly a lot faster then Seedorf, therefore it's better to play with Seedorf when we have the lead, because then we can play slower

If this game contiues anything like the first half, and we win, let's say 2-0, Seedorf can start looking for a comfortable place on the bench, because Gourcuff has been distributing the ball very well, specially on the left side, connecting with Gila and Jankulovsky... and even covering Pirlo and Brocchi in the DM role...

yeah, that's a fair way of putting it ... especially when you compare him with the Zidane at Bordeaux, before he went ot Juve, and then Zidane was already 23-24 yo ... Gorky is still only 20 yo.

Cant complain really about our game so far, except to say that we need that final pass still...but its not too late in the season for us to get it together...cant understand the Pippo + Gila combo...but hey...its Carlos head.

Excellent goal by our super star captain supremo! What touch, poise, and awareness! Not to mention skill!

So, for the 2nd half, I say, More Gourcuff! More Kaka! More Pirlo! I can almost bet one of this lot will score!

Nothing like a good performance, and a goal, to bring rays of sunshine through the cloudy grey skies!

I hope that's a joke, because if not you must be watching a completely different match. Pippo is the weakest player in our team so far in this display while Gila has worked his butt off in the first half. Pippo's only real contribution was getting Iuliano carded for shirt pulling (the ref should let play continue, and give a penalty in those situations, especially that one where Gila was rugby tackled).

Gourcuff was better than I thought, he's been simply tremendous so far. However, it's evident how much we're playing better without Seedorf, as suddenly the play isn't being halted completely as we move forward, nor is the side static. Other players deserve credit as they've played better today, but no doubt Gourcuff is now doing everything Seedorf wasn't for us.

eurosport indicates that Messina are playing 4-5-1 and i have to say that it surprises me a little that we are dominating as much as we are. Normally when teams come here to defend we have some difficulties breaking them down, but not tonight it seems. However, we do need a second and ideally a third goal to kill the game off. A 1 goal lead is never enough.

I wonder if Gilardino scores the second goal wether it will be deemed by some to be unimportant

King Tiger, He certainly plays as smart as Zidane. Maybe not quite as skillful but that's why he uses his speed well to make up for that. He looks very promising and I think we may have found a great Seedorf replacement.
If Pirlo and Gourcuff can play like that every game, it will be hard for us to lose or not to win. Gourcuff moves the ball really quickly and he moves quickly with it as well.

It still takes Gourcuff another 10 good games to kick Seedorf to the bench. We all know how big a Seedorf lover Ancelotti is. He even said that he would like to coach Netherlands NT so that he can take a 34-year-old Seedorf to South Africa.

of course not! in order for that to be counted important, Messina will have to score. heck please no. I would rather we score tons of "unimportant" goals.

If Gilardino scores the only 3 goals of a game..only the first will be important because he had no pressure on him to score the rest.
