that's whay we're different
I never said that we should bench kaka either!Kaka is playing much better than pirlo! He is far better than Pirlo![/quote]
hey man I think that what you do is wrong (my opinion) can't compare Pirlo whit Kaka. they are two different profiles can compare RINO with Brocchi, I agree, chelsea want Pirlo, Barcelona want Pirlo, Arsenal want Pirlo, Real want Pirlo..... every team need a player like Pirlo, only Inter was that stupid to sel Pirlo to is city rival, so we can be more powerfull, and they made it. Remember what Gattuso say about Pirlo: "When I see Pirlo handle the ball I ask my self if i'm a footballer" So we must don't make a mistake like a stupid interista. |

Nefremo's post says a lot of what I planned to already, so I won't repeat it. However, to all those doubting Pirlo and his contribution, bear in mind that for the past 5 seasons, he's been the only player in the side we couldn't replace. To see his contribution, see what's happened over these seasons when he hasn't played, I think that really shows best how important he is.
Personally, when I think of who our most important players are, Pirlo is usually the first to come to mind, even ahead of others like Maldini, Rino and Kaka. As for why Pirlo hasn't been performing at his highest level, I think we need to see how many actual breaks he's been given in the past 3 years or so, and more than ever, look at the break he had this summer (2 weeks?). Physically that is insanely demanding of him so it's only natural he will be tired rather than in top shape. I'm hoping that next summer he finally get's to rest. If he is called up to play next summer, then I actually hope he decides to feign injury and get a well earned break for once. However, that's not the only reason why his form has been poor. Look at how the team have been playing and then assess that to Pirlo's role. He creates, his game is based around his vision and passing and he plays as a fulcrum in the side. To be able to do this, he needs those around him to actually make runs, make space and give him options with passing, which they haven't been doing. It's no coincidence that since Gourcuff has started playing, with his work rate and movement, that Pirlo's performances have been excellent. Quote:
I agree, though I think the latest Pro Evolution Soccer has done a pretty good job. |

Pirlo has had alot of rest this season he has just started 2 CL games and been rested for a few serie a games plus he has just played for Italy twice since the world cup so u cant say Carlo is trying and he knows his form has been very poor for us, if anyone should need a rest it would be Kaka but it does not look that way as he plays man of the match every game for Milan this season i can not remember the last time Pirlo has been the best Milan player in a match he seems to try alot more for italy. I would welcome Deco, Xavi and Essien in open arms over Pirlo but thats not going to happen so i will have to live with a slug in our midfield who plays on average 2 good passes a game and lets players just skip by him every game

So he was rested a couple of games and you think that makes up for two full years non-stop football, given that he is the most played player at Milan and played the whole WC as a starter from day one.
The guy has been begging for a rest and not only now but for a very long time. His biggest problem is that he indispensable for Milan and we lack a real replacement for him ... come on, mad, two games of rest can't relieve the mental and physical tiredness of a whole season, let alone two.

Ok Milan_Mad...go pay Barca the buy out clause for Deco or Xavi, and find the 20+M pounds Chelski will demand for Essien...since you think they are better....
![]() What gets me though, is your claim that Pirlo only makes 2 passes a game, which either means: a) You dont watch Milan play often, or b) You dont play/understand the professional game (quite different from Sunday park scrimmage) or c) You just dont like Pirlo, or d) You have come to expect perfection from Pirlo every game, despite the fact that he is human, and remains for most, one of our better players...or f) You think he should only play for the World Cup winning team, whereafter FIFA voted him as one of the 3 best players at the Mundial, yet is rubbish for Milan. It could be any one of those, or a combination of several or all...you are entitled to express your opinion, but dont expect to have everyone agree with you. Worse, I think your opinion is...well...how should I put this without offending you...dunno..lets just say I disagree 1,000,000% with you re Pirlo. However, have a nice day! OH! Sorry! He makes players skip past him? Pirlo made at least 15 tackles vs Brescia, almost every tackle he made he won the ball...he may not have this sort of stats every game, but for a creative midfielder, I think he does an exemplery job..and doesnt give up cheap fouls in dangerous areas....dude...are you mixing him up with someone else?

I accept that you disagree, i was just expressing my opinion on Pirlos form for not just this season last season as well you would think milan would have money but thats just does not seem to be the case with bringing in Favalli and Bonera for example so i will just have to dream about Essien and Deco at Milan

Anyways, Pirlo is not going to be benched in the near future and we all know it, because bringing in a new player for Pirlo's position is a waste of money - as we have Pirlo who plays well, we need to bring new defenders and attackers - that is for sure. So that is what we all should care about now. As for Pirlo he ll keep his position for now.

He functions better just behind the attackers, however here in Milan he has Kaka in front of him so of course he won't get as far forward on the field as he likes to in Ancelloti's system. Although he is one of my favorite players he underperforms in Milan for two reasons : the first one I wrote above and the second one is that he plays too much, Ancelloti fields him in every match, even in Coppa Italia matches, also since the man became father again recently (baby crying at night) and he has a nice wife (other cries at night) I think our friend Andrea is really really tired and needs some rest ![]() |

Some forums have been reporting that Milan have secured the services of a talented central midfielder from Rimini called Barusso for around 4.5m euro. Im not sure if he has the italian nationality but he looks African, so I dont know how will the transfer go through.
Anyone has any news on this? maybe Maltese Charlie? |
