And don't worry about Liverpool, look at the last 8, Valencia, Roma and 5 from the north, plenty of muscle games like this are coming. A little bit gut and a little bit luck, Milan will go on!

Hope to play Valencia who will be penalized for the ridiculous fight against the InterMerda!!! Maybe they won't be allowed to play their home game......and it will be an advantage for the team who will play against them.
SO...bring on Valencia for Milan to teach and show the InterMerda how to beat them!!!!

I am not pleased about the way we did it as well. However I'm pleased that we a through and I also can't forget their keeper. He is the reason that we went so long without scoring against them. We totaly outplayed them as well and they never looked dangerous. The best thing is that it's done now and we can look forward to Inter.

What to say, a stressing game but we got what we wanted. In all honesty, I was never as worried in this match as some of the matches the side have put me through over the past 5 years.

I think overall we were definately the more dominant, 36 shots I think was our final tally, which quite frankly we need to improve on. Our attacking play in the second half especially was the lack of support from midfield, so Kaka and Pippo/Gila were often having to do all the work by themselves, or they'd just stand around with the ball wondering who'll press forward with them. Seedorf needs to push forward more, as we already had Ambro and Rino protecting anyway.

Carlo's subs baffled me a bit (well, Gila coming on anyway). Gila for Pippo I can only imagine was because Pippo wasn't fully fit. Rino obviously had some kind of strain, hence a straight swap with Brocchi and Oddo had clearly nothing left, so Simic made sense.

In all honesty the performance tonight was reminiscent of earlier in the season where we were totally dominant, but wouldn't manage to get a goal.

Players....

Dida - Solid today, glad to see he hasn't been too affected after chievo
Oddo - Played well until around midway through the second half, then clearly had no energy left
Janku - Good solid game overall, though his crossing has gone back to it's usual wayward self
Bonera - Excellent, solid like a rock, and had amazing composure even at the end
Maldini - Excellent as well, very solid barring the odd mistake in the first half. Today he was literally all over the place, and at 38, playing 120 mins, that's outstanding.
Gattuso - Good game, worked hard
Pirlo - Played very well, today his holding of the ball really impressed, as he almost never gave it away, no matter how much pressure he had on him
Seedorf - He wasn't bad, but really needs to press forward more in that system, and as usual was slow at times
Ambro - Solid game, a few sloppy tackles
Kaka - Superb, simply brilliant EXCEPT the finishing, which with exception to the goal, was very poor by his standards. However, I think this time he can be forgiven
Pippo - worked hard, had the odd chance, never really was able to cause the havoc we hoped
Gila - Similar to Pippo

The referee bugged me tonight. Overall he was whistle happy today, often blowing for non-existent freekicks. One instance that particularly annoyed me was when Pippo was through one on one with Boruc, but no advantage played.

Celtic deserve credit, they worked very hard and showed they have a good side, one that technically isn't too impressive (with exception to the odd player like Nakamura), but puts in a lot of effort. Over the two legs, Sno has impressed me a lot, especially as I think he's only 19 or so. Special mention has to be given to Boruc, who was outstanding for Celtic, and definately the key reason we struggled so much in this tie.

I will end on a positive note though. We've completely dominated a side that's simply unstoppable in their domestic league. It's not a particularly strong league, but Celtic could challenge quite strongly in most top leagues at the moment. That in itself is worth being proud of. We are a very strong side, and though I may not agree with Carlo all the time, in cup competitions such as CL, he's well suited, with his shrewd and cautious tactical play giving little away. Next we look towards the weekend, for which we really have to work hard to be prepared for. I'm a little worried how prepared the players will be for Inter, as tonight will have taken a lot out of them, but well, let's forget about that for tonight, and celebrate our progression.

FORZA KAKA!

Congrats mates !

Milan totally deserved to beat Celtic because you were better in both legs but i must say Milan didn't deserve to be in the 1/4 finals of CL ( errr, does this makes any sence at all ? )

Milan must improve a lot if they wanna do smthg in CL this year. Celtic was by far the easiest opponent in last 16 and it still took Milan 90+90+3 minutes to score a goal.
I know scoring goals is one of the biggest problems for Milan this year, but you were damn lucky you had such a team against you, a team that didn't know how to counter , and this is the thing that you must fix until the quarters start.
I can only imagine what would a team like Roma do to this kind of Milan.

Congrats to Celtic and it's fans. To hold Milan at 0:0 for 2 matches is smthg only Barcelona managed to do in last ....errrr..... God knows how many years.
Still, it's fair for Milan to be in the 1/4 . Celtic was inferior and Milan was obviously the team with more quality.

To the Celtic fan from above : Yes, it was a penalty at the beggining, but it wasn't a penalty when Nakamura felt in the box. He didn't dive but he was simply outmuscled and no way it was a penalty.

Oh , and Jim, who's the psychic now ?

http://www.milanmania.com/forums/sho...8&postcount=48

---------------
All 11 players from Milan's starting line up are better than the Celtic 11.
But in a CL knock out match, where Celtic hasn't been not even once, i'm sure the Scotish side will give 101%. They will run and fight even more than Milan players, and that way they will match them and equal the quality gap and experience gap between them.

But this is where high class comes to make the difference. No matter the desire or fighting spirit, Celtic doesn't has a Kaka in their squad, and players like Kaka, Zidane and Sheva win this kind of matches.
I predict Celtic players to give the matches of their lifes and to make it damn hard for Milan to win a match. But i also predict Kaka to shine up at certain moment of those 180 minutes and take Milan to the 1/4 finals.
Lets wait and see if i'm right
