I agree with Zlat here, I don't think they will get banned. That would be very harsh for a team like Bayern Munich, even though I guess I really wouldn't mind if it indeed happens.

But then there will definitely be rumors and speculations about Galliani and UEFA.

Bayern lost today in Frankfurt and they can say Bye Bye to the Bundesliga tittle.
8 rounds before the end Schalke 04 has a 9 pts advantage and if Werder beats Mainz tomorrow they'll have 6 pts advantage.

The only place left to chace is the 3rd one, but Stuttgart is 2 points ahead of Bayern and they don't have European matches to play.

Tough situation Bayern is in. They don't have squad depth to be competitive in CL and Bundesliga and if they concentrate on CL they may easily find themselves out of CL both this and next year.

But on second thought...they are German. They come strongest when noone expects them to do anything.

Is it me or will it end up like last year Struggle away in Munich and scrape a draw then go for it at San Siro and try and hammer as many as we can in? i get that feeling failing that Carlo will play for Penaltys over 2 legs

Hitzfeld has said that for him Bayern's race for the title is over but I wouldn't write them off just yet.
My favourite for the title is Werder but with Schalke's notorious inconsistency towards the end of the championship, I wouldn't be surprised if Bayern find an extra gear now that the pressure on them seems to have been eased and steal the shield from Werder's or Schalke's hands, once again.

Anyways, Bayern will probably focus on the Bundesliga now and securing a CL spot, at least, as I really don't see them winning the CL this year.

Just a heads up to the Canadian viewers. We don't need specialty channels for this one as TLN will be broadcasting both Milan and Roma (the next day) games LIVE at 14:45 ET. I beleive it will be Italian commentary.

UEFA has decreased van bommel's suspension to 1 game only, which means he will be able to play in the return leg in Munchen.

I heard of it too, damn stupid UEFA.

Kahn, like Van Bommel, will miss the first match in Milano and will be available in Munich.
Lucio will have to pay £4,000 punishment but he can play at San Siro.

and Kahn was just handed one-game ban. Lucio got away with a fine.

then again, in three days, I am sure that it will be annulled again (or halved to 45' ) as long as Kahn does appeal.

True, he seems to get even more crazy as he gets older though.

This year he is like that all the time as far as i could see the Bundeslig matches (those are shown now though comcast cable as well as SerieA's, La Liga's).

I find that, with Oliveira gaining some level of improvement, a healthy (God please let him be so) Kaka, and Bonera we have the basic ingredients to overcome Bayern...though in truth, it wont be easy. All they realistically have to play for is the UCL this season, having basically been knocked out of the title race...

I think UEFA´s reduction of Van Bommel´s ban was all too predictable...and shows clearly their anti-Milan bias...can you see one of our players getting any allowances from UEFA? (Hypothetically of course, as we have well behaved players overall).

I am quietly confident that we can beat them, albeit not as easily as we did last term...where we play the first leg is semantic to me, and as professionals, our players shouldnt allow this to offset our game plan.

I just hope that if Carlo opts for 3 DMs, that they play as well as they did in the first half vs Atalanta.
