ZZ im just curious on what your thoughts are about the match?

for the same reason why Rooney and other good forwards have had poor CL seasons too - it happens ... plus this is Kuyt's first CL season and in a new club at that.

Also, if you cannot fathom an explanation or don't agree with it, don't call it blah, blah, or whatever you favourite argument is when something doesn't suit you.

And don't turn this into one of those childish arguments when your best defense against someone else's arguments is "balh, blah ... it's not true ... 'cause I don't like it"

No one is asking of you to agree with others but discussions are worthwhile when one side's argument is refuted by a reasonable counter-argument with some thought put into it and not your favourite blah, blah reasoning

Well , it's been raining all day here in Skopje (not too close to Athens though , but not too far also ) and the weather forecast says there will be rainings in Skopje in the next 10 days. I wouldn't be suprised if this wave catches Athens also and we see rain on Wednesday (if there's anything i hate it's football on rain or snow )

I have a feeling there'll be a LOT of long balls being played into/over our penalty box in this match...hope Dida is at his best. Hope we can break down their 9 man defense early too.

Admittedly our matches with Chelsea tend to be dour, but the defensiveness of our play is greatly exagerrated

If you watched us on a regular basis, or even just our matches vs the top sides in England, you'd be surprised who's doing the defending in numbers.

Manu came to Anfield and parked the bus infront of goal - all the attacking and chances were Liverpool's

Our last league match with Chelsea was a 2-0 win and could've been more. We went at them from the start.

we beat Arsenal 4-1 - no shortage of attacking there
we lost to them earlier in the year 3-0 but it was end to end and their goals were counter attacks.

Vs. Barca we outshot them something like 10-1 in the first half hitting the woodwork twice and having one cleared off the line

Even the dull 2nd leg vs. Chelsea - who was the side doing all the defending and long balls? It wasn't liverpool.

No we're not like Barca or Arsenal, but we're nothing like the tired cliche that gets thrown about by rivals.

Unfortunately we've played Chelsea 15 times (not kidding) in 3 years and Jose vs Rafa is often a packed midfield affair - it doesn't help the case 'm trying to make as a lot of people see those matches.

I'm also curious on your opinion of your first goal in the 3-0 win vs United. Looked an awful lot like Manu had XI behind the ball and you hoofed a long ball that was knocked down to Kaka. Reality and sterotypes are often surprisingly different.

i have to agree that people stereotype Liverpool as a defensively boring side to watch
but I beg to differ b'coz as much as i hate em for that night in Istanbul '05 Finals,
They have proven to be suprisingly an attacking team when they PLAY Home games..

But it is also not wrong to say that you are more or less expected to be the better/more attack minded team @ home games.. right?? no??

We've had some painfully boring games but it's not because of us defending. Kewell + Garcia are our only two players genuinely capable of breaking through a packed defense and they've been out the entire season.

A lot of sides put everyone behind the ball and we have no answer other than to pass around for 90 minutes never really creating anything interesting. Watching those games is worse than watching Chelsea play.

The player that we need to look out for most is Pennant, he's more deadly than Gerrard lol

World of difference between a long ball, and a long pass which is what that was. Difference could be that if you give it long it goes to crouch, and looks like a pass.

what post are you talkin' about? which post was editted? the time limit to edit here is about 10 minutes... so you can be sure i didn't edit anythin'... it's over 12 hours since i last log in here...

and please... don't even bother with another of your stupid mod talk and bein' right all the time...

lastly... there was no "childish argument"... i was askin' the Liverpool fan about Kuyt's inability to score... and he responded with his opinions... but you wanted some attention & had to butt in with your typical garbage...

you edited the post where you said "keep up with the conversation" ... and you were constantly online at that time so don't play the innocent games with me ... I read the original content.

no one is claiming to be right all the time but you have to at least come up with an argument to prove a point wrong, not simply one of your blah blahs

also, this is forum and all members are free and expected to post whatever they want whenever they want, as long as it abides to forum rules ... you have no right and you are not in the position to tell anyone whether they can be part of a discussion, especially when this is taking place in a public thread, opened to anyone.
