Benitez doesn´t win EPL because he don´t even have 11 players in a decent level to put in the field and it´s kinda impossible to win a league with a few number of decent players like Liverpool

Benitez bring Liverpool into the final for 2 times, won the first time against Milan and lost the other one with no shame, Liverpool's players were even doing a great job, bringing a lot of dangerous to Milan's deffense, is it lucky?

as a liverpool fan, i'm disgusted by this. there is nothing more to be said other than there is a reason why those fans weren't in the stadium and that is because they are not football fans.

OK, I don't know what it is about EPL fans, I think it boils down to their attitude. I know I've mentioned about a fellow teacher who was supporting ManU. That teacher just came in to do something on a computer, I said nothing to him as I was working on something, and he says to me "Well, Liverpool played much better than you guys, but you won, you won." Is there something....some hidden brain-controlling signal hidden in EPL broadcasts that makes these people continually act abrasive and quite jerk-like even if nothing has been said to them????

i think the soccer am generation has a lot to do with it. fans who depend almost exclusively upon what the media feeds them and would happily boo/disown, etc that player if the media turned on them.

as a supporter of an EPL team, my opinion is that the media here love to pedal the "best league in the world" thing.

The most funny is their courage to say "english teams" when between the 4 best english teams only Manchester United are a team that we can call at least a british team...

...a british team that quite depended of a portuguese player to arrive they into the semi-finals of Champions League, so when this player just stopped to play good to start to diving by the blow of Gattuso, the british team received a amazing 3x0

It´s so typical, before the game they are the best of world, after the game they don´t know where to hide the pride and arrogance and start to act like babycryes and blame the referee

I think they will never learn that it´s to dangerous to be arrogant and money, marketing and glamour don´t buy titles

I agree, the English media are ridiculous. I find them to be extremely patronizing if not just plain offensive to foreign football cultures. This jingoistic attitude is especially bad on ITV.

I also think the media screws up England's chances at high profile events, matches or cups. The amount the hound players and coaches is a joke and will be detrimental to the chances of the side. They effectively build the side up as though they're world class when they're not only to make sure they have them in their sights as soon as the side fails. Sven is a perfect example, a coach who had a good England side and nothing more, yet became the second most successful England coach in history after on Sir Alf Ramsey. He did a fantastic job for England and really wasn't treated how he deserved.

His side were not as good as people thought, as never did he have a truly world class forward, with Owen being the best, but hardly setting the world alight throughout these years. The left side of midfield was non-existent as England didn't have any real quality to go there, and eventually Joe Cole was forced to adapt. The central midfield having an average at best ball winner for many years, with Hargreaves finally stepping up a little, but still far from being a fully developed talent. Then there's the whole Lampard and Gerrard debacle where Sven would be hounded by both the media and fans if both weren't played, despite their ability to play together being poor. The defence was good, but only to be backed up by a usually average if not below average keeper. Added to this, the England side had absoloutely no idea how to control the pace of games, no real structure to the play and would try to pretty much "bully" their way through games.

Added to this, Sven's personal life was always under the microscope. Scandal after scandal being released about his drama would give him no chance to do his job properly. The media of course act as though it's their right to publish this rubbish, and if that's the attitude, then quite frankly they shouldn't blame him for lack of success, because their constant shots at him will ruin his career. Foreign media can be bad, but if they're bad, the English media is nothing short of scum.

Simply put, if England intend to make the next step forward (especially at International level, as at club level the foreign influence is huge), then firstly it's got to be to admit the failures currently in place, and a start would be to ignore the tripe the media pulls out of it's backside.
