Moratti: "I Don't Care About Pato"

Internazionale chairman Massimo Moratti shrugged off suggestions that Inter lost out on something special when Brazilian youngster Pato opted to sign for city rivals AC Milan...

Massimo Moratti's Inter didn't land Pato this summer - but the man himself doesn't care.

The oil-rich Inter supremo claimed that he decided against a move for the Brazilian, who in the end plumped for the other half of the San Siro, AC Milan.

Speaking to the Gazzetta dello Sport, he gave three main reasons for his apathy.

The first was financial. "It was a big investment, and I didn't feel like it," he said.

Then came two more. He added, "Second, Pato would have used up a space taken by one of our own youth products: [Mario] Balotelli [17 year old Ghanaian-Italian striker].

"And third, this Brazilian is not yet 18. We have immediate objectives and so focus on players with experience."

With Inter running away with last season's Serie A title, there is perhaps something to be said for the experience approach, but it begs the question why Inter were at all interested in the first place.

Nonetheless, Moratti appears happy enough with his squad, but admits there could be improvements made. For the time being, though, Barcelona's Lionel Messi is not amongst them.

Following a brief discourse on Spanish tax law, the outspoken head honcho moved on to the subject of Messi's virtues as a forward compared to his own.

"It depends on how much one wants to spend huge amounts. At the moment, Messi is not a priority as I am very happy with Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

"He is a complete player, a model professional, and a striker who can improve. Messi is still very young," he concluded.

Finally, he moved on to Adriano.

“Adriano is still a potential superstar and can be the decisive man. He needs to find himself again and get back to what he does best," said Moratti.

The president then predicted the manager's plans for the player. "He will struggle for a while to find a place in the side, but if he returns to the player he was three seasons ago, Inter will have a devastating extra weapon. I am counting on it," he added.

Moratti took control of the nerazzurro in 1995 and has employed nine managers in this time.

Vjerojatno niko ne gleda Dinamo...opet malo o Modriću...86.minut,slobodan udarac s 25 metara i pod rašlje...njegov drugi gol. Šteta što nije u Milanovom mercato reonu jer ovo je već igračina a jebeno je mlad. Ništa,čekat ćemo Gourcuffa,nadam se da će proigrat kako se očekuje.

Naši youthovci izgubili od flamenga sa 3:1 jebiga 4.mjesto.

Ne samo jedna utakmica

ovaj inter je jos jednom dokazao da je najjadniji na svijetu, oni izgube na san siru od rome, trebalo bi ih sutnit sa san sira na neki pasnjak, jer sramote taj legendarni stadion

Kako je lijepo vidjet merde kad izgube, bravisimo Roma , nisu imali za burek nočas.

Odlična vijest...Oliveria dao dva gola za Zaragozu...bravo majstore...treba ga vratit u 1. mjesecu...

nemora znacit da ce i kod nas dat 2 gola .)
