Pasquale Foggia is called up to the Azzurri!
We "kicked" him out to Lazio as a part of the deal for Oddo, back to last January. Lazio has not used him up to now though. First, he was loaned out to Reggina till the end of last season, he played 15 games scoring 4 goals. Then, he was loaned out to Cagliari, he is doing very well there now, 3 goals in 2 games, 2 of which scored against Juventus from the spot. If you watched Cagliari's game against Juventus a few days ago, you might have noticed that Foggia has developed into a very good player. And the latest news about him is that he has been called up to the national team for the games against France and Ukraine in Euro 2008 qualification. Last but not least, remember that this Milan Academy's alumni is still considerably young, born on June 30, 1983.
My question is: Is he fully owned by Lazio? Or we still got the 50% ownership?

Milan gave Lazio $$$ and full ownership of Foggia to get Oddo.
Not sure what his current ownership status is, should be easy to find, but I can tell you he's no longer related to Milan.

we gave up his full rights, in two parts to lazio, but i think now lazio only owns 50% with cagliari having the other half, but i am not sure about that. milan, though, owns nothing of him now.
edit: yeah, what sant said. didn't see that when i responded. |

disagree completely peters. Last season with all our injuries and with us playing just 1 up front and 2 attacking midfielders in Kaka & Seedorf, he would have got alot of playing time and been an ideal substitute to rest the above two players.
I'm pretty sure Boban said he was one of the brightest Italian talents a year or so ago and we gave up on him far too quickly. We've shown more patience with lesser skilled players, which is the infuriating thing. However, i guess all this is insignificant as i doubt Ancelotti would have trusted him and given him the same amount of chances as our other fading gem Gourcuff! Happy for Foggia though, he deserves it. He's been one of the best players from any team in these opening rounds.

I agree with Jim that we've gave him out too quickly. He did a great season with Ascoli 2 years ago, but since he's a winger he doesn't fit in Ancelotti's diamond midfield or Xmas tree formation. In fact the only attacking (or ex) winger is Serginho.
I would have kept Foggia and never let him go so easily.

Serginho is not an "ex-winger", he only played in defense in Brazil. Only CMaldini used him as a winger for half a season.

And he deserves it, he may still come back if we/he wants to (and if he is 28+). Shame we let him go... but it was under a pressure, we really needed oddo. |

If I may quote what Lampard said when he was asked to comment on Robben's departure: "...It's football, players come and go. But, you have to move on!..." Forza Milan!
