I disagree.. By this January, or next summer mercato, he'll be at age..?28? that's still not too old and under milan standards probably young, although he's my favourite player, I only wanted him @ milan last year because we'd have a good 4 yrs of his magic, now if he were to come I don't think it's worth it anymore, instead we could rebuild our squad with 4 great players instead..

Now that it's been revealed we made an unsuccessful £7 million bid for Banega, does anyone think we'll go back for him in January? Or do you think our money for Banega was spent on Pato meaning no new bid for him?

I think there is a good chance we will go for him again... However, it does not necessarily mean he will sign for us, though I hope he does

So much was expected of Gila when he arrived for £18m in 2005, but the ex-Parma striker has been very disappointing and has been a complete flop in Europe, scoring just two Champions League goals in two years.

The World Cup winner has come under intense criticism so far this season. The forward has yet to score and was booed continuously by the Milan fans during the Rossoneri’s recent home games against Fiorentina and Benfica.

Damiani claims that Milan had the chance to replace Gilardino with any of the aforementioned trio but chose to keep faith with their ex-Verona hitman.

“Milan had taken the difficult decision to sell Gilardino and replace him with a first-class striker,” Damiani told Sky Sports Italia.

“Then they changed their mind and decided to keep faith with Gilardino, rather than choose between either Toni, Van Nistelrooy or Trezeguet, of which positive contact had already been made.”

Gilardino will be hoping to end his barren run when Milan travel to Sicily tomorrow evening to face Palermo.

I don't know if this is true or not because why would a member of Milan stuff (is this Damiani in Milan?) put even more pressure on Gilardino ?

maybe its like coz they want to show that they have faith in Gila ?

it seems like he is lamenting on the missed chances of signing one of those three studs and keeping our dud. i wud have loved to see trezeguet in our team. also it seems like every day a milan associate is either blasting gila or supporting him. its clear that the only reason he is still here is because of his price tag and the title at italy's future. otherwise, he wud have been long gone by now.

Jealousy.. perhaps as he didn't have even half of the confidence Milan has been continually showing to Gila

Price tag: Oliveria just gives you an excellent example that Milan doesn't adhere to price tag.

The question is not when Gila will score; the question is when Ancelotti will stop playing lone striker with Gila. As far as the Champion League is concerned, I don't see how Gila will shine until Ancelotti is ready to play 4-3-1-2 instead of 4-3-2-1. Just like we'll never see how 'wonderful' Gourcuff is until Ancelotti actually put him on the pitch (but he hasn't even made it to the bench).

I'm obviously glad he went to Liverpool, but surely Milan should have made more of an effort to sign Torres. He's just put in a fantastic performance against Reading which had everything, skill, touch, excellent finishing, strength, pace and good link up play.

Torres got alot of rough treatment tonight, but instead of whinging and moaning when he was knocked down, he got back up without any fuss and kept demanding the ball. Gilardino should watch this match and study Torres' performance, maybe it'll remind him of what he's supposed to do!

Kaka, Torres & Ronaldo up front, that could have been pretty special.
