BTW, It's goalkeeper, not goaltender (I know that's how the GK is called in ice hockey, which is always one of my favorite games, to watch lol).

I think many will disagree with you. During 2003, 2004 and also even 2005 Dida pulled off incredible saves without making mistakes. During that time he was performing at the same level at Buffon and many were saying he was better than Buffon at that time.

Taibi was a talented keeper that never stepped up at big sides (though at smaller sides he was great). Dida is far better though, I don't see how the two are even comparable.

I'm not trying to be a d***, but if I were forced to give a name, I would say possibly Dida. He's always known to be an extremely introverted character, talks extremely little, and sometimes does things he really didn't mean to do (Celtic Park).

No truth in it. I'm not saying that 'autistic' players can't be good players, but I don't think Dida is one of those.

Why can't we sometimes just accept that some of us are just different? Indeed, why do we have to look for labels to categorize people? Why don't we entertain differences in positive lens, but consider minorities as wicked?

There are probably a few footballers who have mild forms of it, i've read and believed that Beckham has obsessive-compulsive disorder, various Utd players who shared his room on away games would deliberately put things in a mess so they could laugh at him when he was compelled to tidy and organise everything again

It was reported that OCD is probably what makes him good a freekicks, a determination to reach perfection keeping him on the training ground doing the same thing over and over again it does sort of make sense, and i doubt Beckham is the only one who became a specialist because of this disorder...

Good point, Jeff. It seems we have to categorize everyone and everything that's different. We're afraid of people who aren't "normal," when in reality there's no such thing. I'm not sure if I've mentioned this already, but one reason I like Dida so much is that his personality is very similar to mine. I've taken plenty of stick over the years for being quiet and not emoting much. Sometimes it gets frustrating, but that's just who I am.

Becks' OCD reportedly is also the reason behind his tattoo collection. He gets them because he's apparently hooked on the pain of the needle.

later on a cross comes in and Dida punches the ball away unchallenged which leads to a Cicinho shot (which he saves) and a Mexes offside shot ...

i don't get it, why not catch it?

That and one other issue aside, he did great today, good for him

The only option left is to put him in a bag and send back to Brazil for free. Who ever gets that bag would be the unluckies man/woman of the world

sorry mzk but Dida kept us in that match, if it wasn't for his saves we'd have easily lost 3-0 if not more.

He had no chance with the goal either.

It doesn't matter how many saves he produced, we just lost and ZERO points The point is that when ever he is around ppl like Nesta, Gila, Gattuso and Pirlo etc also look shaky and perform not so good. He has bad effect on ACM, simple as that. Kalac should be in the team who is much more brave keeper

So our forwards act shaky because of our dodgey goalkeeper?

Brave?? You mean like standing up to taking flares thrown by those Inter* animals? You mean like injuring his shoulder more than twice EVERY season because of having to pull off miracle saves to save our @$$es?
Try mastering your command of the obvious before attmpting to make judgements/aspersions on an intricate issue like bravery





*I think you should join them...If you're worried about Dida not catching those balls, Inter have a whole bunch of romantic good looking boys that wouldn't mind catching anything that you shoot at them
