Warro,
I guess i'm just more optimistic then most. I agree about the bench, it is weak, that was known in the summer. Berlu will not stand for Milan being regulated, huge changes will occur before that happens, he'd lose too much money. If our form continues changes will occur in January because of Berlu's need to be the king of europe.

And you are right I didn't see Gourcuff against Ath Bilboa but I don't think you can compare Ath Bilboa to Serie A teams. La Liga teams don't pack 10 players behind the ball. I'd like to see Gourcuff play, i'm not bashing him, but there has to be a reason for him to play. To play him just because he is a different name in the starting 11 doesn't make since. Carlo is going to put out the 11 player he thinks are going to win and according to him Gourcuff is not there yet.

Two seasons ago, I posted here that we should sign Vucinic from Lecce, and people laughed at me. No chance of us signing him now is there?

Baresi is an unknown quantity at this point
I don't understand what all the confusion about Gourcuff not playing is. Ancelotti clearly said that he's consistently angry with Gourcuff's performances becuase he holds on to the ball to long. If that is a good enough reason not to play him is debatable, but at the end of the day Ancelotti chooses. Also Nadir, I'm surprised you would assume I'm "one of those fans" who just wants the next big name to come to Milan and that somehow I want some sort of fantasy football to be going on at Milan. I am only voicing my concern over the current form of Milan and the players. You say we need to do with the team we have and somehow that will make us great and so on. A great team also knows when a good run ends (all good runs end) and it's time to start an all new run. According to your plan, we'll stick to our current ways and not even qualify for the CL next year or even for the Uefa Cup for that matter!!

Vucinic is not a milan type player, I m not sure he would be good in our team.

they said the same thing about pirlo.

BTW, the great Zvonimir Boban refutes everything I said

Former Milan star Zvonimir Boban has criticised the current Rossoneri side and insists that they need more than Alexandre Pato to turn things around.

The European champions are in the doldrums after last weekend’s defeat against Roma left them in 13th place.

The Diavolo have pinned their hopes on Brazilian striking starlet Pato, who arrives in January, but Boban is not convinced.

“I strongly doubt that Pato will be enough to jumpstart the Milan engine,” he told La Stampa.

“If the Rossoneri want to compete on all fronts they need one really big signing.”

Boban believes that the priorities at the club have changed since he won four Scudetti at the San Siro between 1992 and 2001.

“Milan have changed their philosophy and now they put the Champions League first and let everything else follow,” he stressed.

“As Europe seems to matter more than everything else, the side are unwittingly snubbing the League.”

The Croatian ex-midfielder concluded by casting a critical eye over the men at Carlo Ancelotti’s disposal.

“It’s a different squad now because you can’t ask the old guard to keep working miracles,” he warned.

“Ancelotti doesn’t have the strikers who can turn a game, let alone a season, like Jon Dahl Tomasson or Daniele Massaro used to.

“Inter have Julio Cruz, Juventus have Vincenzo Iaquinta and Roma Mirko Vucinic, but Milan have nobody.”

Agree with the first paragraph, but not entirely with the second.

Atl Bilbao are known for their defensive approach, and they did indeed play that game, with a lot of players behind the ball.

We can only trust that Carlo is correct at this point, after all, he did bench Rui Costa for Kaka....
