FORZA MILAN !!!!!
With all fairness, do you expect anyone to start scoring when he comes in at 88minutes?

For god sake, he is bad but doesn't deserve half of you here who bash him for no reason.

i don't bash him.next time try to read my post carefully before u quoting . the words that u quoting refers to him in the next game Jeff not this Milan-Genoa game.I am hoping he will scores some goals in next game.and with all respect too he got his times to played in many games and as u can see the result was.. this is not like Gorky who is lack of time for playing so we couldn't judge him.. Gila got his chances enough.he played in many times.TBH i expecting him to come back to his days when he was in Parma with a different system here and different players also.and somehow he should to manage it.

@e-milan: lolz.. i forgot to rate Max : yes.. he did played a good game last night.solid in the mid area.and his cooperation with Gattuso won all the battle in mid area

If someone is to be blamed then it's Gila himself. If he can't control his temper in a game like this, what will happen if he gets a chance to play in a much more tensed game like in UCL final or the likes? He really has a problem with his mentality. No wonder that the goal.com said that despite scoring 17 and 12 goals in his first two seasons with Milan, he rarely scored in the big games and UCL. He should've learnt something from Pippo, who is always ready when the opportunity arrives, no matter how insignificant it may seem.

if you watched the match, you would have seen that Carlo made Gila mad, when he decided not to sub him, i think gila went in there to get that yellow card and make some trouble for Carlo in mid week

also, he should have started 4-3-1-2, dunno why he didnt do that, he had Gila in his disposal..

Dude, with only 2 strikers available, it would be too risky to field them both at the same time

I agree, even the greatest strikers would struggle to score with 2 minutes remaining in the game.

A lot of people have commented on a pato/gila partnership and I think its a good idea. Combined they give us multiple options:

- with Pato pace and skill we can play thru the middle and on the ground
- with Gila height and size we can use a wide game or long balls.

It allows us to change the tactics whenever we choose and keep the opponents guessing.

Against better opponents, the "rio trio" won't always deliver, then what?

In the right hands Gila could get back to his goal scoring ways at Parma and can reach his full potential. Wenger, Mourinho could do that imo.

Not criticising Carlo's coaching and tactical ability, his record speaks for itself.
I just don't believe he has the ability to develop players properly.

Borrielo seems to be flourishing at Genoa and gave Kaladze a hard time.

Now imagine if Gila was on loan to Genoa, might have been a different game

Agree almost wholeheartedly with you, jmacpherson. We just need to give it a TRY! and borrielo was giving Kala fits in the back. He's eager, and has said he wants to earn a recall.

I also think Gila did get the yellow card on purpose. If he did he is a ***. He needs to respect, I know Carlo gave him only two min but he would have gotten a chance in midweek to prove him self.

didnt we try this against atalanta on wed?
Carlo pulled pato and replaced him with r99, leaving gila on for the entire game...and 0 pts.

Wenger isnt comming...
what makes you think Mourinho is better with youth?
Milan isnt a training ground. if you want a youthful side, and build with youth, you will go a couple seasons of maturing. You all can handle struggling in 1 year, let alone going 2-3 years for the youth mature.

have a little faith...the current management has done a super job over the last couple years. We have a great starting XI. and when the seedorfs or ambro's become liabilities, we will replace them with more quality.

disagree...the milan midfield dominated the Genoa midfield, that was the game i saw. they attempted to counter...typical. gila, borrielo, pato, anyone upfront would of struggled.

Well, in his defense, he had quite a few young players at Chelsea under his helm,i.e. Arjen Robben, Petr Cech, Mickael Essien, John Mikel Obi, Salomon Kalou, Shaun Wright-Phillips and etc....

gila has had 3 years to prove himself. how many more chances does he need?
given that fact, it is really unfair to gourcuff, borriello, oliveira who only got half a season(because they mostly came as substitute) to prove themselves.

One game where Pato and Gila play together isn't enough, this partnership won't work wonders overnight. Gila's mind is not where it should be which is a pity.

I still believe he can come right, and I'm not his biggest fan.

I'm thinking about the future, Ronaldo still has the skills but is too injury prone. At his age he doesn't bounce back in 1 week like Kaka would.
Inzaghi can still come on to win matches for us but again too many injuries and he won't always be able to play 90min.

Against Udinese, the "rio trio" couldn't score, Gila came on and scored thanks to a Kaka/Pato/Gila move. Might not have worked at Atalanta but it did work against Udinese.

In 2 and half seasons, he has scored 35 league goals with Milan so he can't be to bad?

Put him next to Pato game after game, Pato is on top of the world right now and thinks he can do anything and score from everywhere. Maybe Gila needs some of Pato's young enthusiasm?

As for replacing our midfield when they are out of date, we will want an immediate replacement of the same skill and experience. Those players cost alot, we will then be outbid by Inter,Chelsea or Madrid. Then we'll bring in somemore 30yr+ defensive midfielders and hardly play them.

Instead we should buy the young talent, develop them, even if it takes a few seasons. The Milan dreamteam of the 80s/90s didn't come together in one season.
