Pirlos Position

iv just had an argument with somebody on msn about Pirlo's position now i said that for Milan he plays as a DMF more than a CMF and the same in the WC he played behind Rino and Camo/Perrotta with Totti as a AMF for the most part, but he keeps saying that pirlo is overrated and no where near a dmf hes a poor scared central midfielder. please let me know Pirlo Centre midfielder or Defensive Midfielder?

I heard somewhere that his role is deep playmaker?

Pirlo is the most creative DM in the world...He is a unique talent, there isnt anyone who can substitute him...HIs not overated, his much underated instead.

He was the best player in the WC, with 4 assist and 1 goal...4 games MOM including semis and final. And yet CAnna and Zidane we ahead of him.

Back to his position. For us he has played DM always, in the WC he played behind Rinho and Perrota but had much freedom going upfront, a freedom that his enjoying lately with Carlo also.

But as a DM he had never convinced in his defensive duties.

That's where you're wrong. Pirlo is good at defending He intercepts lots of passes and keeps the ball well under pressure in his own half.....he sucks at tackling and since he is built like pipi longstocking he can get outmuscled all the time.

People only think of a brute like Gattuso Vieria Diarra etc as a dm but Pirlo prevents the attack from getting the ball in the first place
