First Serie A goal of Pippo, but thats very important.

This is maybe the best season of Ambrosini until 98/99. After that much time being injured, his will to play at his best is respectable. We are proud of him, the next captain.

Today we have a chance to asset Amauri. Next match, lets observe an other one: Vargas of Catania.

well, jorcouff is no kaka, he doesn't have the speed to be at his place, he is more like seedorf, remember that player at his age needs confidence which he is lacking, since ancelotti is not giving him any games to play unless we have the whole midfield injured, and he had some good dribling after he got that good assest, since he gained more confidence at his skills, something that our tachnical staff never gave him, anyway for people that is complaining how slow is Gorky, do i need to remind them how slow seedorf is!???.

anyway bad second half, but legendary supper pippo never ever dies :P.

Zizou wasn't particularly quick either, but was excellent as a CM/CAM. The problem to me is the attempt to over-simplify his game and this makes him less effective that he actually can be. The kid doesn't try anything out of the ordinary passing sideways and backwards because when he does try the extraordinary, he is scolded instead of being told "nice try". If our CAM doesn't try the extraordinary then what's his purpose?

with the last minute goal from inzaghi ithink we are all frogetting the great performance the captain of the team put in ..AMBROSINI has really been one of the best players this whole season ..works hard defensively as well as atacking...scored a brilliant goal ..and did miss a chance...gila today dissapointed although i give him credit for trying to make runs even though he was offdies but could have done better

IMO Ancelotti uses those formations because it suits the type of players that he has.
I believe with two world class wingers he wouldn't be against using a 4-4-2 or even a 4-5-1 at times. It would mean bench time for Ambro & some others. But could you imagine our attack it would be coming from all over the place.
This module would nullify Kaką's role in the team. 4-4-2 is the module that nullify's the trequartista's importance inside the game.

I wouldn't mind taking pressure off Kaka, we depend on him in every match, after all he would have more freedom in his game

No mate, i didn't mean more freedom. I meant that 4-4-2 nullifies the role of the trequartista. The last Milan attacking midfielder that played consistently in that role with a 4-4-2 module was Boban, who was forced by Capello to run all over midfield.

Would you like to waste Kaką's brilliancy, talent and acceleration to play 4-4-2 ? I wouldn't, and i'm sure Carlo agrees.

I think you would agree that one thing making Carlo different from any other coach is his flexibility with the team. He knows how to get the best out of the players we have while using the best formation. I am sure Quaresma-like player would be useful for a team, at least in Ambro's spot, if you don't want to change formation.

The 4-3-1-2 relies on full backs, who are actually like wingers. The problem is when they aren't fit enough to do the whole flank. I think when Jankulovski will be fit and Zambrotta will be signed, we'll recover our usual game. Oddo was pretty decent today, if not actually good. Sad to see that despite an assist and a good performance many still talk about a bad performance by him.

I am lucky to be watching Milan's games lately, and I may disappoint you by saying that Oddo did suck today... ok, I was watching his crosses closely, especially in the second half.. He tried to help in the attack, but only 2 out of 10 crosses he sent actually found the target!
maybe I am being to critical, but judging by his crosses this wasn't a good game

1. Oddo served the assist for Ambrosini

2. A defender should be judged for his overall game, not only for his crosses

3. Cafu delivers much more crosses but they are as slow as a turtle. Oddo risks more when he crosses, playing first touch. This means he makes more mistakes, but those who reach the target just need to be sent in goal.

you may have a point here, what's your explanation for our failure to create in attack?

Usual problems, nothing new under the sun. Predictability, slow passing, lack of a powerful first striker. We have two of our best players out (Seedorf, Kaką) and the overall fitness isn't any good. We're doing better with our two full back. Jankulovski is recovering his form. Oddo played well, IMO.

But i think we'll recover the best fitness within 1 month. As usual, we're a bit down after two restless months. Be confident, our fitness will increase week after week.
