I never said that Brazilian teams suck either, don't know where you got that from.
Anyway, my point was, if a player moves from one league to another he will not always do well, even if he played well at home. And it doesn't matter if you come from Brazil to Italy, or from Germany to Italy. Those leagues are completely different, and player has to adjust. Sometimes players are just incapable of that. Good example is how Sheva can't play in Chelsea. I don't think he became worse. I think that England isn't his place to play.
That's the bottom line.
I know, I was not aiming my post at you or anything, adapting to a new league is always a tough job. I'm not even an Alex fan, or a Sao Paulo fan for that matter. What I can't agree with, however, is having to hear that the lad isn't good enough, or that he doesn't play against good opposition, from people who has never seen him play before. These kind of claims have to be made on well conceived, solid ground basis, otherwise there won't be a healthy debate. Freedom of opinion is a farce unless the facts that inform the opinion are not in dispute. I can't bring myself to agree or disagree with opinions from people that haven't ever had contact with the facts, as these are nothing but barren claims.

I think both of you (Jim and Kulspruta) have a point.

I just want to add a point: the most impressive performance live i've seen from a defender other than Milan's ones in the last seasons was Lucio's one in San Siro, last Milan vs Bayern Munchen. He was everywhere, quick and solid.

Who are you to call me ignorant because i don't think he's the type of player Milan should be aiming for? Have i ever said i've not seen him play? No. Have i ever said he was rubbish? No. Have i ever said he can't become a good player? No. So because i disagree with you, you call me ignorant and get all upset, grow up!

I hadn't called you ignorant, but that's a fair assessment, since you do ignore the facts concerning the issue, so congratulations, good call. You seem to think the problem is that you disagree with me, but in fact the problem is that you have no ground to have an opinion. Your claims wouldn't bear relevance even if you did agree with me. I'll be more than happy to debate any football related issue for as long as both me and my contender know what we're talking about.

My mistake, you did not call me ignorant directly but you more than certainly implied it in your posts. So i guess i jumped to that assumption just as you have jumped to yours.

I have no ground for an opinion? How arrogant are you? You keep saying i ignore the facts, maybe you can point them out to me so i don't get further confused!

(sorry if any of the names are spelt wrong)
I think who we need to go for a striker first. IMO Benzema or Aguero. but it looks as Benzema may sign to Barca, so i think Etoo is also an option.
Also im a fan of Seedorf, but i think it is his time to go, i read earlier this year that he said he would like to finish his career at ajax, well a swap Seedorf for Jan Huntelaar would be great.
With seedorf, serginho, brocchi, ba emerson, and maybe gourcuff( i prefer if he has to go we loan him out) leaving i think we need to spend some money and acquire two major midfielders. Kallstrom and Quaresma top my list.
And in defense i would love to see ramos and daniel alves(really want him) or lahm, but those are highly unlikely, so Barzaghi, zapata(if alves, dont need zapata), zombrotta, )
and in the goal all we need is Amelia.

GK--------------------Amelia/Kalac

DFENCE-----Alves, Oddo, Barzaghi, Kakhadze, Nesta, Bonera, Ferrrari(i.e if he did already sign with milan), Digao, Grimi, Jankulofski, Zambrotta)

MiDFIELD---- KallStrom, Kaka, Quaresma, Gattuso, Pirlo, (possibly Gourcuff), Ambrosini, (jankuloski can also play in da midfield)

Striker-------Pato, Inzaghi, Jan huntelaar, (aguero, etoo'o or Benzema)

Formation (4-1-2-1-2) Or (4-3-2-1)

----------------------Amelia-------------------------
Alves-----------Nesta-------Barzaghi-------Zombrotta
----------------------Gattuso------------------------
Pirlo----------------------------------------Quaresma
-----------------------KAKA-------------------------
---------------PATO---------(Benzema/Aguro/Eto)---

Regular subs would include---Kallstrom, Jan Huntelaar, Kaladze, Ambrosini, Jankulofski Oddo and Bonera)

Also Albelda could also be an option since, he will be a free transfer.

If Milan were to somehow read this and follow my path, they would have a great teams, mixed with experience and youth.

what i should also have done is say why those players.

Alves, i have alot of respect for him, and i see him as becoming one of the worlds best
one day.

Barzagi to me is the best Italain center back, that doesnt play for milan, hence he should join milan

Amelia is a great keeper, and milan needs a keeper, and i dont see a reason why we need to go oversees to get a keeper, when amelia is leaving livorno.

Huntelaar a great goal scorer, great header, and i see him making a impact as he come on, i see him a the next inzaghi, with a little more skill.

Kallstrom has one of the most powerful left foot in the world, and can make things happen in the midfield.

Quaresma - all i can say is simply amazing, young and talented. He would provide great crossing for Huntelaar, as sometimes i dont feel Oddo and Jankulofski's are very accurate. he would draw many defenders with his dribbling opening up the field making Kaka, Kallstrom, Pato, (Etoo, Aguero, Benzema) more deadly, and make it more entertaing at the same time.

(etoo, benzema, aguero) all three are great strikers, and that what we need, all of them can make thing happen for themsleves, and dont depend of putbacks, or being in the right place at the right time to be effective, like Gila)
I think however Eto's is our best shot, as all signs show benzema going to Barca
and Eto' has more expierense than both benzema and aguero, and i doubt Ancelotti wants to play two teenage strikers in Pato and Aguero.

I too think Benzema is a great talent but something tells me that he'll be like Vieri. A great player but never stays at one team very long. Everyday there is a different report saying he'd love to play for Milan, or Barca, or real mardrid, or he is staying at Lyon until they win the CL. If even a portion of these statements are true then he wouldn't be the type of personality Milan would for that much money.

Quaresma never did a good match in CL (good matches in Portuguese League but ...) and Kallstrom isn't enough constant: he can play like if he was one of the best world class players one day and the match following that, playing like if he had 2 right feet ...

Very good point, GK, 1 CB, 2 WB, 1 or 2 Midfields and two forwards, makes 7 or 8 players...

Then who do you propose

As far as quaresma go, you say that he only does well in the domestic league, well i think thats where we need help, and also in CL i think because he is the best player on Porto, and they are playing against many team better than them, then there is alot of pressure on him, @ milan it wouldnt be like that.

Well after watching Fiorentina beat Juve, I think we're officially "in the sh*t" as a certain Gordon Ramsay likes to say.
One question-how the hell are we going to attract any players if we don't have the CL? I hate to have to begin speculating with that as a hypothetical, but people weren't exactly lining up to come here when calciopoli was hanging over our heads. Correct me if I'm wrong, but most people aren't willing to come to a club anymore to be its saviour, they want to always be in contention to win titles. Is the lure of Milan strong enough for today's professionals, or do they want instant gratification and glory?
With this in mind, we might see a new group of young, hungry, on the up players. Maybe not the blockbuster big-name signing, but a team to start us on a new path. Players like Pato, Paloschi, Gourcouff, with Kaka' as the lynchpin can be something special and I liked what I saw from those 3 yesterday.
Alot of people are saying "We are Milan, we get big names" but I don't think we're living in that world anymore. England, big clubs in Spain, Bayern or Lyon, they are also destinations for players that we covet.
On a side-note, it was nice of the ref to even out the game for us with the red card, since we'd been playing with 10 men all game.

The midfileder i wanted last summer was Snejder because he can do a lot of jobs, he could play instead of Seedorf. For defence we can sign Mexes,
Nesta-Mexes wouldn't be great?

The last summer we also lost one of the best WB Abidal...
