ACMilan- Arsenal Champions League 07/08

What irks me the most is that the team seemed to play without moral and joy through the second half.

Oddo, Pirlo, Kaka were awful sadly. Nesta had to help Oddo through the entire first half with adebayor. Pirlo made so many strange passes that it almost hurt to watch and Kaka didn't do much good at all.

All this sadness will one day produce tears when we finally lift the champions league trophy again, but until that day, there's alot of work to be done.

Like Mrki said we have the BEST PLAYERS IN THE WORLD and we can't win anything this year, so don't say that ancelotti is good. If we have Lippi or Mourinho this year with this squad we will be scudeto and CL contenders, not like we are now with yours F****** carlo.

i wouldnt even consider our squad to be top 5 in the world, but everyone got different opinions.

I hope the management learned the lesson from this match where our aging team was outran by the fitter young Arsenal players and stop bringing in oldies

If we had Maurinho and Lippi maybe we were already out from the CL before Arsenal match as you know they both are not the level of Ancelotti with regard to Champions League performance. Don't bash Carlo if your suggestion is under Carlo's achievement with regard to CL's performance!

Regarding Serie A, we could be contenders with Maurinho or Lippi or even worse than we are now, we could also fight for relegation by now.

there were and still are many very powerful teams in Europe and to say that milan team was soooo much better than everyone else is a total stupidity. Remember barca team? Real? Inter?Juve? All of them you can call "dream team"

And to say they didn't need a coach?! Common, players are stupid morons.
When carlo came we already had many of those players but we lacked standard formation and team spirit. He won everything and you shouldn't talk like that about him.

Prandelli? I think he's just like gila: very good in a small club but not good enough for milan. Maybe i am wrong but it's just what i think. We have a coach that is proven on the big stage.

I say, keep carlo, buy reinforcements and lets conquer the world again!!!!!

Everyone has a reason/justification for every single situation. The fact is, whatever is going on is not working, so there needs to be changes. Wholesale, minor, player, coach, formation, tactic, the list goes on.
In my opinion, the game as a whole is changing. Faster-tempo, whole teams of attackers, pushing forward. When I see Milan doing this, we are unbeatable. Are we doing it enough, or can we do it regularly with this team? In my opinion, no. Ambro, Gattuso, Emerson, Oddo, Janku, are all some of the players that have been singled out. I think because they are not functioning for all aspects that we need them. When Gattuso is raving around the midfield, we don't need Ambro and Emerson on the pitch. What we need is an attacker, a winger. Did Rino give us much offensively yesterday? No. Did that hurt us, and could we have used another attacking, controlling, passing mid? Yes. Does any ONE player deserve ALL the blame? No. But when we don't have viable solutions for problems, then we have a major problem. It is not easy to break this Milan down; it has been happening all year in Serie A. We don't impose ourselves. Arsenal looked like Milan of old, they dictated the play, they made over 20 passes in a row at one point, they had 65% possession. Things are changing throughout football, and I think we can pick it up and be on top again. Do we need to burn the house down, toss the baby out with the bathwater, and all sorts of other tired cliches? No. Do we need to go to UEFA cup for a year in order to realize how **** our year has been? No. Can we compete in both competitions next year? Absolutely. Italian football is ripe for a new (dare I say revolution) in playing style. I think we can be at the forefront of that, with Pato, Paloschi, Kaka', Pirlo, etc. We need wingers and wing-backs. Milan has been all about beautiful football. I watched Milan demolish Madrid 5-1 a few weeks ago, and it was just an amazing, fluid, beautiful thing to watch. We have a core group that begin to justify this style of play, now we need the rest of the pieces to complete it.

the other side of the issue is that buying many players has its own problems.
one new player Pato requires time to absorb into the team and learn to play cohesively.
now think about having 6 new players? how do we expect them to get along?
teams built from scratch need at least 1 season to start functioning / understanding each other well

Don't be so bloody stupid and we don't have the best players in the World, we have some of the best players in the World. Ancelotti won 2 European Cups. Something only Del Bosque and Hitzfeld have managed. Mourinho with all his money couldn't beat Liverpool and Lippi? Three losses in a row. No thanks. Ancelotti made mistakes but the biggest mistakes were made by management starting with talking Gilardino into staying and sticking by Dida after many mistakes last season.

Galliani is a lying piece of crap and a kiss arse and until Berlusconi replaces him or takes more control in how the club is run we'll continue to have these problems.

Also, I don't recall his transfer campaigns being any more active than campaigns of other big clubs. Also, consider that some players weren't purchased on his request, but on request of Abramovich (Ballacks, Sheva)
