The players you spoke about are excellent targets (D.Alves, Rosina, Zapater, Silva and all the strikers), but we won't be able to buy all of them by the way. It is sad lol.

Well, the where do you find this money has to be a concern for the Milan officials. I suppose they could sum up the money they should have given these last 2, 3 years in order to improve the team but they didnt. Bayern gave last year tons of euros in order to create a new team from the beginning. We are talking about Milan here...

I totally forgot about Oliveira though. I dont see him coming back to be honest, he can be easily used as a trade piece to get a better player back.

It's difficult to judge whether a player will succeed or not, especially if they've performed at smaller clubs. However, certain factors are in favour of Gomez succeeding:

1) He plays a similar role to Toni, who has a more physical approach than Gila. This is well suited to the modern Italian game as many Italian teams want a strong target man to hold up the ball so runners have more space. After Sheva's signing he was pretty poor, but a lot of that was down to the fact Sheva never passed to him.

3) This one is key. Gila before signing had a fantastic Serie A record, but he had done little else (even for Italy he was not a regular). Gomez on the other hand already has CL experience and has established a starting role in the German national team. I believe his record in the national team is 4 goals in 8 games (not a bad scoring rate at International level) and in CL 3 goals in 4 games. This indicates he can step up at an International level.

indeed,Gomez would be quality signing though a bit risky transfer consideirng he could lack the service to box enough at Milan and however Kaka Leite is less decisive when he doesnt find enough space,Oddo's cross ability is very poor,Marek's fitness problems or injury problems,i'd prefer a striker who can create and score from nothing like Benzema or Aguero,if we really go for a strong target man,it has to be Adebayor or Drogba.

About Nilmar, he really was the best striker in Lyon team when he was there (2-3 years ago ?) despite his first year in Europe, his young age and the lack of confidence of the coach (he wasn't always a starter). But unfortunately, he didn't adapt to France and wanted to come back in Brazil. Lyon accepted and had to take him back after a one-year-loan but they never did it.

I really thought he would become a WC striker, but all that promising career (in Europe, normally he does well again in Brazil) has been wasted according to me. Anyway, he may be come back in Europe for a try, each summer, there are news about him, especially in Italy.

Maevious, that has already been said, but Milan doesn't earn a lot of profit ... so the only ways to spend a lot of money are:
- Berlu giving money
- Players sold
- the 2 solutions together
But anyway, we won't spend all that amount of money in one only mercato (that must be more than 120M € if we add all ?? I didn't count). Furthermore, we need 4-5 players (one in each part of the field), but not an entire team of we won't win anything until 2009-2010 !!
EDIT: I counted ... that would give a lot more than 130M € lol, and of course, the prices could be a lot higher in reality ...

I know it is not football manager but since you wanna talk about money let's do it:

Amelia - 10m
Alves - 25m
Lucio - 10m (price decreased because of age and his will to change team after so many years)
Gomez - 15-20m
Borriello - 8m
the sum for that is around 70m. You can add Cigarini (around 8-10m) who is a great talent and a good left back right Emmanuelson (around 10m as well, no way he will cost more than Drenthe). And you go close to 90m.... far away than the 130m you are talking about. By the way, you can even decrease that by around 10m if Milan sells Oliveira.

Around 80m is what Bayern gave last year, Milan should invest top money if they want to get top talent in return.

From all the brazilians Milan needs only one of them - Dani Alves. And we DO need 5 new STARTERS: gk,lb,rb,cm,cf.

But most of all, the player we dont have since Seedorf slowed down in a "box to box" midfielder...

And when we talk about the money ( aldoiugh Milan CAN pay 16mln+Vogel for injured Oliveira... ) Lampard is almost nothing, flamini is 0, Zambrotta and Vargas are not expencive players, Toni also... and so on...

Did he say so ? Because lots of people say he will come back in Italy and especially in Milan, but I never read anything about that from him ??

Maevious, if we do well, we could sell Oliveira even more (I think around 15-20M €) ... he does well in Zaragoza, so if Zaragoza goes in second division, other Spanish clubs could be interested I think. Or a trade Milito <-> Oliveira could be interesting, but if Zaragoza doesn't stay in 1st division, this trade won't be possible.

Anyway, we all talk like if we were in Football Manager lol.
I just hope from our management that they will try to buy the players before the end of Euro and the start of the mercato not to lose some targets (for example: Toni or Ibrahimovic on the last 2 years).

How about having Igor Akinfee of CSKA in Goal ? He had been a first choice for few year now.

Acmilanclub.com have on their website a quote from Rummenige of Bayern Munich.. Rummenige said something like Boruc will not be joining Bayern Munich because he will be joining Milan.

Bronzetti has also been quoted as saying that he bets on Sheva's return, even though Boriello has earned a return back to Milan.

I saw Rumenigge's quote about Bayern not taking Boruc, but i did not see anything that says the reason for this is because the Pole is going to Milan. Maybe the whole quote wasn't printed, but if he had said something like this i would have thought it was worth showing. I'd be quite happy if it were true though, Boruc would be a good signing.

I also saw Gazzetta dello Sport's piece about how Serginho is to renew until 2009 and that Cafu's renewal is still being decided. Plus it suggests we will strengthen with the arrival of Zambrotta and either Ferrari or Barzagli. I hope this is what is, i.e. speculation. However, these again are the easy options and ones we'll probably end up with. Zambrotta aside, none of these players improve our squad. Why look for Ferrari or Barzagli when Lucio is aparently available for just £12 million? There are better players out there!

I would be more then happy if we were to get Akinfeev (correct spelling?), Boruc or Frey for goal. But I think it would be a very very good signing if we could get Montolivo. He could be the understudy for Pirlo, kaka or Seedorf and then after next season take Seedorf's role.
