I did acknowledge that he's having a bad season this year which has been filled with injury problems and fallouts with the club. I agree that he doesn't deserve a 6 mil a year salary but I don't think that Kaka deserves a 6-7 mil/year salary either.

Point is: I don't think he would do badly if he came here. The 16 mil price is a once in a lifetime opportunity and I'd have no problems if we got him for that price and a reasonable starting salary. As long as his purchase doesn't affect our rejuvenation in defense and midfield then I'm all for it. He's a creative player with a bit of pace and scores plenty goals per season, which is exactly what we're missing. If a bad season where he's off form gets him 21 goals then who knows what average - good form will do!
IMO Ronaldinho peak performance was against Milan in 2005/06 when Barca won the CL. In season 2006/07 Ronaldinho's performance decreased and the lowest is in this season. Maybe if there were other young talents except Dos Santos and Bojan, Rijkaard would opt to play them instead of Ronaldinho.

About his price, it's just like Rivaldo. Rivaldo was better, he was free. If I am not mistaken, Rivaldo was still 29 yo. Rivaldo never reached his top performance in Milan. This's what I'm afraid of.

Ah yeah, about that 21 goals. Do you have the info how many goals were from penalties? I bet, at least 7 goals are from penalties but maybe more.

Here's my thoughts on the Ronnie subject.

They say that a player's prime is between 28-32 years old, as in that age bracket you still have physical fitness, but more importantly you reach mental maturity... basically you're at your tactical best during that age...

So, buying Ronnie right now would be, if not the ideal time, it would be an extremely good point in his career. If I'm not mistaken, Real bought over Zidane from Juve when he was 28 or so? Someone please correct me if i'm wrong...

On his attitude, people were also saying that Ronaldo was disruptive at Real, didn't seem like it at Milan. And Ronnie is coming off a sour relationship and dreadful time at Barca, nothing could be better than starting a brand new relationship and adventure at Milan with fellow Brazilians.

If we get Ronnie, we would have the STARS of the BRAZILIAN NATIONAL TEAM!!! The first 3 names (Kaka, Pato & Ronnie) that Dunga would probably put on the team sheet... I would say that is an attack worthy of Milan!!! With Paloschi & Inzaghi playing back-up, and having EITHER Gilardinho or Boriellio, we'd have a good attack. And if Ronaldo returns to his former self (or just half of it), it would be an added bonus.

They bought Zidane at 28, but we don't need 28 year old players. We have enough players apporaching, or over the age of, 30. To add another would be silly.

Those stars of the Brazilian national team don't function very well together. We don't need them bringing their lack of compatibility to Milan.

yea but you also have to look at how much they play with each other ...the national team baely has any time to train together..in milan they would train day in and out thus building a better chemistry

i'm totaly for getting Toothy for 16mln pounds. It's not a big risk, as it would be for last years rumoured price od 100mil€ or more.

Ronaldinho is simply too talented to refuse him. In Milanello players work seriously, well, untill they get really old and then they just look serious: Serginho, emerson, cafu...

That would mean Seedorf would be a bench player, or will leave for ajax. Personally, I see Seedorf as a great rotation player who will be world class for another two years but ONLY if he is used off the bench or in smaller ammount of games.

According to Tribal Football(not the best of sources) Dida is close to signing a deal with Lyon.
If it is true, this is good.

Hopefully a Benzema discussion is in there to.

Don't bet the farm on it. Saying that Tribalfeces is "not the best of sources" is the understatement of the century, plus he's not going somewhere else just to be a backup to someone else.

Actually Ronaldinho would be a bargain if we pay only 20 m euros for him,he is still one of the best and however just turned his 28 last month, just remember how he toyed Gattuso 4 times,C.Ronaldo easily marked by Gattuso whenever they played againist each other,4 times.Ronaldinho is a genius while C.Ronaldo is very predictable this is why he toyed Gattuso and we werent able to handle him during this games.

Ronaldinho needs a new challenge and Milan can provide it to him,i think Milan told his agent that Ronaldinho should buy his contract so that Milan doesnt want to have problems with Barcelona as we also need to make bussiness for Zambrotta.Today's meeting is signal of this.

Some of today's newspaper articles about us:

(ControCampo)

Tuttosport's reliability is always questionable as i understand it and i have no idea about ControCampo. However, the first one suggests the idea of us giving Genoa Gilardino for Boriello though Gilardino wants Fiorentina. Brocchi apparently wants/is thinking about leaving for Sampdoria and we may use him to get Sammarco (don't know much about him). It also says we're following Samba of Blackburn ( ), Corluka of Man City and that Costacurta will become a trainer next season alongside Ancelotti, Rijkaard or Donadoni.

The second article talks of Dida leaving for Lyon and that Boruc is our top target as Fiorentina don't want to sell Frey.

Lets see what else the day brings.

He is 28 years old and he has about one year before he is reaching age of 30 which for me would be difficult for someone to reach his top performance when he is 30.

His wage will normally so huge, same as Kaka or even more. If he wants to be paid base on his performance, I would absolutely agree. If not, IMO it's better to invest on other player.
1. You said that he played bad last year, but he still managed to score a lot. Last season he played a total of 47 games and made 23 goals!!! Then you said that he played even worse this season, but he still has 9 goals in just 14 games to his tally. It doesn't take a genius to comprehensively understand that fact. I've said this once, but I'll say it again: I don't give a $h!t if the whole world says he's finished bla.. bla.. bla.. but if a player plays really really bad and yet still can score at that rate, then I'll take him any old time!

2. Zidane moved to Madrid at the age of 29, and he helped them win La Liga and UCL. Let me bring you a more familiar name: George Oppong Maneh Weah! He came to Milan also at the age of 29, and gave us some magical seasons. In fact, it's around this age that the footballers usually reach their peak performance before gradually decline when they're 30+

3. Let the board worry about the wage. If Milan owns his image right then it means we can expect some money from selling merchandise etc

A goal is a goal. PERIOD!

You win the match 100-1 with all the goals came from penalties, you get 3 points. You lose 1-2 where you made a Maradona-like solo run, dribbling over 21 players including your own GK, but at the final time whistle, you're going home with abig zero! Dude, where have you been? Every goal counts, every mistake costs! It has always been like that in football!!!

Ćorluka would be a great signing... i watched him here when he was in Inker Zaprešić and Dinamo ZG, he is just great player... season 04/05, he was loaned to Inker, he played well with 18 years, then he returned to Dinamo, he played as central back, he played very well... and then, season 06/07, he was invited to national team, his progress was just remarkable... that season he was playing in NT and club right back, he was very, very, very impressive. he has great technique for defender, he isn't slow, he just doesn't run in a normal way... he plays extremely well when playing against big teams, i remember him in NT. in his first matches, England, Russia for example, he was just impressive... with 20, he played against likes of Ashley Cole superbly... he is solid in defence, and can always create something in attack, he has a good cross. he can play as DC, DMC and DR... even he hasn't played here in Croatia as senior in DMC role, he played it until he was 15, 16 years old... but he has played some games for City as DMC..

and Riijkard and Donadoni are much worse than Carletto...

Person above me said everything about Corluka, in fact, Milan was advised from famous football manager for italian clubs ( Naletilic ) that they buy Corluka to play as a RB. When you look at him first thing you will say is that he is slow: but he is not. It is something extremly strange! when you look at him run it looks like his feet arent moving, but he always catches his man... Technique is great for a defender, motorics are good, tactics are SUPERB and so on... Well, Im a croat so maybe someone who saw Corluka and in not aC roat could describe him better, but I think that this player would fit perfectly on our RB spot. Perfect player for an italian tactical team. BUT, he is a NON EU player and would cost much as English teams dont sell cheep.

Ronaldinho - if its possible, get him in any way at any price smaller that around 50 mln.

SKY says Flamini has agreed to join Milan if we reach 4th place...

I saw Vargas again on sunday and he a helkl of a player, hje can play for Milan 100%.

i don't like this talk about 4th place and signing the deal
we are not lazio or sevilla and fear about getting in champions league
if we are not there this year definetely will be next
and after all we enter champions league to win it, not play it, like Arsenal
if players wish to play for big team, which wins trophies, and want to contibute to that success, they are welcome
if they think only about next year, missing the big picture, they are not welcome
at last, even Kaka will play in Milan next year, even we miss CL
