I think the two keepers that market experts give as our possible future keeper are Abbiati back from loan or Amelia. Boruc is a possibility; i've heard of Diego Lopez from Villareal; rumours suggest that Milan board ain't going to invest massive moneys on a keeper, and i agree. Dida and Julio Cesar have been signed for few moneys.

Hi Giovanni!

I suppose you are the only guy from Italy on this board.

Well, I would love to have Boruc in our team. I loved his performance against Germany in WC.

Have you come across any news regarding Aurelio Gomez from PSV? I have liked him since our CL match against PSV in 04-05.

BTW, I read some news regarding Flamini, who, I think has developed into a dependable player. However, it took him more than 2 years to cement his place in Arsenal. Why would he want to join Milan or Juventus only to fight even harder for his place in a new team, again?

I have a question. Does R10 have a EU passport already?
Cuz I don't think it would very wise to spend our non EU spot on him, he have to sign a lot of other players, strikers, defenders, may be a keeper too..

We will sign Zambro and Dihno from Barcelona and i find then possible to see Shevchenko back and then we gonna see...
About Quaresma.... he is incapable..... you overrate him, let him stay in Porto, i saw him again in Portugal-Greece he was the worst player in the field...

I saw Galliani on TV saying that no player refuses Milan aldough we may play in UEFA cup and aldough Ronaldinho and TONI play for big clubs like Barcelona and bayern.

I have a feeling Galliani will bring Toni to Milan. Berlusca stoped Toni's transfer, but maybe things got on the right track again. Toni is a bit old but he simply scores ( my theory: he is toooo tall to stop ). I dont see us paying for Ronaldinho and Drogba, but Ronaldinho+Toni for attack would be TERRIFIC!

If Maldini stays, and 90% it looks like he will stay, we can have 4 CB's: Nesta, Kaladze, Maldini, Bonera. And then we need 2 fullbacks to have full defence of 8 normal players ( sergio, Favalli, Cafu excluded ).

My prediction ( "objective" ) :
- Frey ( Gila to Viola and prandelli)
- Zambrotta
- RB ( Eboue or someone young )
- Flamini
- Ronaldinho
- Toni

it looks like a lot of players but Milan needs it, and we can pay for it.

And if we sign Ronaldinho - Im making a Ronaldinho rossonero party for my Juventini and interisti friends

I know he has a Spanish passport, so in Spain he's not non-EU, but is this passport valid in Italia too?...

Berlu said the squad will actually be smaller (bear in mind our squad size is actually 29), but with more quality through the squad. This is a good approach, as our squad has grown over the years but not with quality.

Like it or not, if Berlusconi decides he will buy Ronaldinho, noone will make him change opinion, let alone the players.
I think his possible signing would force one or two key players of our current team to stay on the bench (Seedorf, Pato, Ronaldinho himself, a first striker) and add more depth.

Berlusconi said that we need to strenghten the defence and he didn't mean Zambrotta, but a promising centre back. The problem is that finding a great young centreback for a reasonable price is not that easy. But i'm sure they are looking for a few CBs. Another priority is a new keeper and a first class first striker.

I think our next champaing will feature:

- Keeper (Boruc ?)
- Zambrotta
- centreback
- Flamini
- Ronaldinho
- Drogba
I've been split on Ronaldinho for a few years now, mostly the factors that put me off before were his cost and his inability to play with Kaka.

However, at the current value of 20 million, I can't imagine we can go wrong, simply because his marketing value should cover the major costs, for which a player so talented and hyped is very high.

I wrote a pretty long post about my thoughts on how to solve the issues in Milan in the Preferred Formations thread, and I mentioned a system with Quaresma, which I think Ronaldinho can play very well. What's important is that Ronaldinho doesn't have a role like Kaka's, but something which fits around Kaka (who our attack is built around).

For the rest of the shopping list mentioned there, I would personally replace Drogba with Mario Gomez. I would be a little disappointed if we didn't get another fullback too, as I think we need heavy investment in these areas.

However, with R10, Gomez and a quality fullback (who may still be a reasonable price), we're not looking at a cheap summer.

Do you mean the PSV GK Gomes? He's a good keeper, but not easy to get imo.

Flamini has said in the past he'd like to play in Italy, and Milan are usually a pretty safe bet for players to aim for many competitions. He's cemented his place at Arsenal but contractual disagreements are causing problems (he's out of contract and thus available for free in the coming summer). At Milan, he's also got a fair chance at first team football, as Gattuso's been struggling lately, and he's been on par with all of our DM's this season (never mind his versatility).

Would love him, but I doubt we can get him right now. His position at Arsenal is very solid and we have other greater necessities (I doubt we'll have the money for such luxuries).

Some of today's bits of info:

I can't believe no one has picked up on Berbatov's comments! He said if Milan's interest in him was true and talks started, he'd be flattered! A quality player who'd love to play for us, hopefully the board will take notice.

Henry's possible departure could be interesting too. Barcelona got him for £16 million, what if he were sold for £10 million? What if we could negotiate Oliviera as part of a deal? If, and it's a big if, the prices were right and we had strengthened other areas first, why not take a punt on Henry? Someone of his calibre in our squad would be invaluable to young players like Pato.

In the channel 4 blog they talk about other wide players (full-backs and wingers i think), here's some of the names they mention, Genoa's Abdoulay Konko & Lazio's Valon Behrami, Aleksandar Kolarov and Stefan Radu. Zambrotta is not enough if he's to be the only full-back to join us.

There's also news from Bild that we're interested in Bayern duo Lell & Schwienstieger and will buy both.

Rumoured target Alex Silva has returned from injury, still not sure why we're going for him when there are better options out there, but still it's news.

Sevilla apparently want a straight 30 million euros for Alves after Barcelona's apparent offer of money + Dos Santos was turned down. £23 million for Alves, it's a lot if it's a straight cash sum and i don't think we have any chance for him if Sevilla wouldn't accept a money + player (in our case Oliviera) deal. However, in the article i read about our interest in Lell, it said that our board's number 1 target was Alves but we knew he was out of reach. So it does at least suggest we've been thinking about him.

From my point of view, I don't think Gomes is right for us and i don't think we'll get Drogba. I also don't think Flamini would need to fight that hard for a 1st team spot, he's been playing better than both Gattuso & Ambrosini this season.

NOOOOOOO !! Are you mad ?!
Henry is crap !!
His career in big clubs is finished since, not this year, but the previous one in Arsenal ... Henry today is: injuries + no goal + bad mentality.

We don't need him, we don't want him, really, even if Barcelona was giving €10M to us to take him lol, I would hope that we would refuse !!

I'd rather taking back Oliveira instead of this sh!t !!

PS: There are actually rumours coming from each country !! Fortunately, most of the rumours link us to good players ...

I read a lot of peeps here worried about the lack of cohesiveness between Kaka and Ronnie in the same team, looking at their performance in the Brazil NT...

Well, i believe it's down to tactics and the coach as well...

If you look at Milan, with both Pirlo and Gatusso, I don't think Milan gets the best out of both of them. We are quite vulnerable in defence and I see Gatusso needing to attack way too much for my liking...

But during WC 06, the Italian NT under Lippi was a different prospect all together. I think Lippi managed to fully maximize Gatusso's defensive qualities and Pirlo's playmaking skills, looked much more solid than the Milan setup. That's why i'm not against Lippi taking over, as I feel that he will be able to get much more out of Gatusso and Pirlo. Some may argue that Italy has different or even better players than Milan, but that's my observation and please feel free to comment if you think otherwise...

So, I'm optimistic that Kaka-Ronnie can work, infact only a name like Ronaldinho will be able to bench our 'old guards' like Seedorf, which is what Milan needs. I think Brazil is gifted with way too many strikers, that has forced Ronnie to play deeper in midfield, rather than the support striker which he prefers... Also, we don't have a back-up for Kaka (and no, Seedorf is no back up for Kaka), which i believe is a position that Ronnie can handle...

My view is that there are so many positives to him coming than there are negatives...

Finally, if Berlu says that Milan was built with Ronaldo as a 'battering ram' which is supported by Pato-Kaka, then i know this is unpopular, having Sheva as that battering ram isn't such a bad idea. I personally brand him as a traitor, but i think he has learned his lesson and have paid dearly for his mistake, the final years of his prime years (28-32) has just gone down the drain... We need a powerful striker, and Sheva is in that mold... If and only if he comes cheap or free!
