I would not be surprised if our mercato consisted of these players:

Amelia/Abbiati, Zambrotta, Lell, Alex Silva, Flamini, Schweinstieger, Ronaldinho, Shevchenko.

As well as the return of some loaned players.
Why Lell? He is an average player, a solid backup in case of injuries, but not a champion or a tremendous skilled player. Or Did you mean Lahm? If it's so, forget it very quickly ;-), he's going to decide between Barca und a new contract in Munich.

Jim c'mon we BOTH know it. We both know that Henry has been living off the excellent system Wenger created. Are we to assume that Adebayor is now the best striker in the world also?? We both know that he has been living off his supreme pace and the little bit of skill to bamboozle the EPL defenses but when on the big stage he disappears. Henry has not impressed in any International tournament except the Confederations cup that France won to be brutally honest.....Last world cup the whole world laughed at fat-old-past-it Ronaldo scoring three goals but was actually impressed that Henry could have equalled that tally....Ask yourself "why?" BE HONEST YOU EPL GROUPIE

I'd rather french kiss my sister's cactus than see him in red and black

Liverscum and Chelski will meet again in semis. Liverscum had a REALLY SUSPICIOUS penalty given.

Lell is a fullback? Or? How is his quality?
Marzoratti can play as a fullback. But i think we'll uncover the cards in the next months. I'm sure the fullback role is one of those where you can find a gem among non famous players. For example, who knew Serginho in Europe before he joined us in 1999 ?

I would love Sheva back but if there were other better players that are worth the Non-EU spot (only Aguero) then I would chose Aguero.

Marzoratti coming back is a big possibility especially cuz of the new regulations of UEFA, but I certainly dont want to see Darmian coming here as a starter, not in the next 3 years at least. We need a world-class CB (Mexes, Juan, Cannavaro, Zapata(?), Gamberini) to partner Nesta, but to tell you the truth I dont think we need to look far as we have Bonera, everytime he played in CB he was CLASS. I just dont wanna see Kaladze in the starting 11 any more.

zafrul very nice post about Gattuso/Pirlo..that is kind of the same reason why I want Lippi here, he knows how to get the best out of his players.
No news yet as i've been following the Liverpool- Arsenal match so far. I will check in the next minutes.

I'm sure Bonera can become a world class player. I think he's improving season after season. He's a player better suited to start from the first minute, as he needs to warm up and find the position.

A few weeks ago i had that discussion about Bonera and Kaladze. I said Bonera was a far better defender than Kaladze. Half forum told me i was mad.
I say it again: Bonera is a great defender, and we paid him only 2 M. Bonera is more consistent and reliable, and even younger. Kaladze is cool too, but only on his days. Otherwise, he can be totally unreliable, and his unconsistentcy is a big flaw for a top defender.

Darmian should let learn without pressures. Carlo sees the heir of Nesta in him.

@ Siregar, sorry mate i don't know much about Lell, just that we were linked with the Bayern RB.

@ whoever. So Henry has a bad season playing out of position and he's suddenly a bad player? If Kaka was forced to play wide right in a front 3 would he be as effective? Henry is a striker and should be played in a front 2, which if he came here (and why wouldn't he as we were very close to signing him last summer) is where he'd play. Not always starting, sometimes from the bench, sometimes with Pato, sometimes with Ronaldinho, who knows. All i know is he'd be more of a goal threat than Gilardino and if the price was right, i don't see why he wouldn't be a good addition to the squad. People moan about him not showing up in big games, well excuse me but i think we need more help in the smaller games against sides like Empoli, Sampdoria & Atalanta!

@ Giovanni, even cheap 'gem' full-backs are expensive these days.

You know the summer is near whenever these Dinho to Milan rumours pop up. Same story every summer and every winter.

I think this year the 'Ronaldinho Chronicles' seem to be truer than last year since Barca are not so much interested in him.

Now that his possibilities of leaving Barca have increased, we must absolutely make sure he doesn't land at Inter.

Umh ... Henry does his second bad season, ponctuated by some injuries, which allows me to tell you he will have many injuries by being older ...

Kaka' is an offensive midfielder, he almost played like a striker last year, he did well (no, actually, he was amazing). Henry is a striker loving to play on the left, he does so in Barcelona, but no goals coming.

Did he do well in his last season in Arsenal ?
Also, is his first year in Barcelona a success ?

I think you will reply the same answers that I would ... if you don't, we mustn't speak about the same player !! lol

Look at that:
2005-2006 (still a good year ; 28yo): 32 EPL games - 27 goals ; 11 CL games - 5 goals
2006-2007 (decrease + injuries ; 29yo): 17 EPL games - 10 goals ; 5 CL games - 1 goal
2007-2008 (Barcelona ; 30yo): 24 games - 8 goals ; 6 CL games - 3 goals

He will also be 31yo this summer ...

Sevilla want 30 mill euros for Alves. Which is like £23 mil. If we could throw in Oliveira then the price might go down a lil.

I was pretty sure that Dani Alves was going to be sold last summer, but I guess that Seville wanted to see how far they could get with their team in 2007/2008 in the CL and La Liga. Considering the results, they will probably be selling some assets this time around and Alves is probably the most marketable. I'd go for him (but t's not MY money being spent is it?), although I do wonder if he'd be well suited to the Italian game. Only time will tell, really.

The guy never was linked to us or any other Italian team ... he had to go to Chelsea last summer before Puerta's death and all was cancelled (if reports were true).

So, the guy will probably go to Chelsea or Barcelona, can't see him in any other club at the moment ... and €30M is expensive, even for this player. F#!k English clubs like Chelsea that have killed all reason in this market (market that was already mad).
